Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is no direct access to the garden from the patio doors.. This light and airy, detached barn conversion straddles the borders of Hampshire and Surrey, making it the ideal choice for those wishing to explore this popular area! Alice Holt Forest is just behind the property, perfect for scenic walks, cycling and picnics, and the property is also close to the South Downs National Park. Adjacent to the owners’ home, Reeds Farmhouse has been carefully converted to maximise on space, especially on the ground floor, with a large open plan living space as well as a utility room and bathroom. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, one kingsize, with a walk in wardrobe, a twin, and a single. Immaculately presented, and with tastefully styled furnishings, this makes the ideal choice for couples or families who want a base to discover the numerous attractions within easy driving distance.
The popular historic town of Farnham is about a 10-minute drive, which has a wealth of culture, shops, eateries and leisure facilities, as well as Farnham Maltings, a cultural organisation with theatre and dance productions, art, textiles and photography. Farnham Castle, the Museum of Farnham, Farnham Pottery, Frensham ponds, Waverley Abbey, with England’s first Cistercian Abbey, Hogs Back Brewery Tours, Rural Life Centre and Birdworld are all close by. Mainline train stations can be found either in Farnham or at nearby Alton for easy journeys to either London or the south coast.
Chawton is also nearby, home to Jane Austen’s House Museum, where she wrote a number of her great works. Visit the Gilbert White Museum, and slightly further, Portsmouth with its historic dockyard, Spinnaker Tower, the D-Day and Royal Marines museums, Gunwharf Quays, various museums, art and entertainments, waterside dining and shopping outlets, is about a 50-minute drive. About the same distance is Chichester, with its ornate cathedral, festival theatre, cinema, Goodwood Races and Fontwell Races.
Alton and Alresford are a short drive away, with the Watercress Line steam railway, a delightful trip on an old steam train stopping at various stations along the way. We loved staying at Reeds Farmhouse. It was the perfect space for our 4yr old son and 1yr old daughter to hang out in and visit family close by. Very comfortable house and tranquil surroundings.
