The wonderful White Lodge Hotel is literally next door but one to the property and welcomes our guests with open arms, be it lunch, dinner or a proper "hotel breakfast" for those who don’t associate a frying pan with down time!
Langford Villa is also steeped in history, this Grade II listed building was built in around 1830 and was regularly chosen by the Terry family of York (Sir Joseph Terry, the famous chocolatier!) as a place to spend the summer. You might even find one of his celebrated Chocolate Oranges on arrival. Filey is a very popular seaside resort due to its fabulous long sandy beach stretching over 4 miles down towards Reighton. For those of you who enjoy walking, the Cleveland Way finishes along the clifftops and goes down to Filey Brigg. You can walk part of the Cleveland Way to Scarborough with breathtaking views out to sea and the wonderful rugged coastline.
The resorts of Bridlington, Flamborough Head, Scarborough and Whitby are all easily accessible as well as the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton cliffs. Here you can see the puffins close up from the viewing platforms along the cliff sides. The medieval city of York is less than an hour’s drive away, voted nearly every year as one of the top ten cities to visit in the UK, so it’s definitely worth a visit. The city appeals to all ages with its historic buildings, the Railway Museum and a host of art galleries and theatres. Beach 500 yards. Shop 600 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

"Wow just wow! We stayed at this huge and charming house back in 2107 and immediately fell in love with it. But imagine our delight when we visited this time to find it has had a major refurbishment. A larger and beautiful new kitchen (the only thing in our opinion that did let it down a bit before) and two new bathrooms. Every room has been redecorated and has new curtains etc. an interior designer has obviously been engaged. But if like me you have stayed before don't worry the place still retains the quirky magic. We have booked again already and big thanks to the owner for the "lending" us a lime and two bottles of tonic!"

We stayed here over Christmas and New Year last year and such a lovely time.
We stayed here over Christmas and New Year last year and such a lovely time. The whole apartment had been decorated for Christmas and I mean the whole apartment, but with great taste. The owner who lives upstairs some of the time at this very large property greeted us with "gifts from Father Christmas" and made us feel so welcome.
We were told that we were to be the very last people staying prior to a planned refurbishment programme and that whilst the rates would increase from what we paid the kitchen would be bigger and there would be an ensuite etc. I just hope he doesn't change it too much we loved it!
The location is the very best in Filey and has private parking in the court yard at back. We were also made very welcome at The White Lodge Hotel which is next door but one. Looking forward to staying again.”

I would most definetly stay here again, it was lovely.
I would most definetly stay here again, it was lovely. Loved the high ceilings and you can imagine how grand it would have looked being as one large house. The little things like providing milk, coffee, tea and sugar. The bowl of fruit and the chocolate orange were just lovely little extras. Going that extra mile makes all the difference to your stay. It was a perfect weekend away

We’ve had a wonderful stay at Langford Villa.
We’ve had a wonderful stay at Langford Villa. It really has been a home from home and the owner and the house keeper could not have been more welcoming and accommodating.
Tea, coffee, fruit and even a Terry’s chocolate orange (in keeping with the Villa’s history) greeted us when we arrived and was enjoyed by all and the traditional feel of the house was very warm and homely. We cannot wait to return.
