views of river were great! enjoyed coffee on porch. children enjoyed paddle boards and I (grandmother) enjoyed them paddling me around. A+ place

Overall we enjoyed this property! The backyard space, porches and use of kayaks/paddleboards were the highlights. Close to hikes and not far from the city. Kitchen was well-appointed. My BIL planned to sleep on the futon but when we got there it did not look comfortable enough so he shared the bunk room with another family. The king bedroom smelled a little musty and there was a fair amount of dust in the corners and on top of some surfaces throughout the house. There were a couple dead cockroaches on the property but we were honestly surprised that there weren’t more bugs since the house was pretty surrounded by nature. Some pretty sunsets! Nice place to stay as long as your expectation isn’t for it to be immaculate or recently updated.

5 of us adult siblings/inlaws (2 couples & 1 single) recently stayed here for a week. The gorge view from the back deck was utterly beautiful & peaceful, serenaded by a symphony of diverse birdsong all day long. And the deck itself was brilliantly designed, its clever roof allowing light and airflow, and yet keeping one dry even during significant rainfall. The only thing missing was an outdoor outlet, to plug in a fan on a breezeless, warm afternoon.
We rented a pontoon from the wonderful folks @ the downtown Erwin Marine, and it took only 37 mins (@ 25 mph) to get it back to the house - a pleasant, pretty trip along the river.
The house itself was spotlessly clean, and well supplied with towels and linens. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with most of the necessary cooking tools, pans, and pots. Plenty of plates, silverware, coffee cups, and glassware.
The single adult slept in the LL bunk room. Not ideal for an adult (crinkly plastic mattress cover under the sheets, low headroom, and no place to sit to put on socks or shoes - and dark as tar at night), but it was fine for 1 week...after we got some plug-in LED nightlights lol. The LL bath is very pretty, but could use a couple towel rods for damp towels - there are only 2 hooks.
We all enjoyed our stay here, and had a relaxing, peaceful, fun time.

Pictures don't do justice to this property. It's right on the water with a spectacular view of the forested mountainside across the river. The house itself is beautiful with deep wood everywhere throughout the interiors/floors. Big kitchen and great long dinner table with a comfortable living room/TV seating area. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large yet cozy. The covered deck/patio is one of the gems here as it allows a great view of the river and had good outdoor seating for a relaxing atmosphere. The private dock in the river is good and there were new kayaks and river "playthings" in good shape to use if swimming or getting out onto the river. Don't be put off by the road to get there- small lane needs to be driven carefully as all the houses along the river are built close to the water and there's not alot of space to put a road. Property owner Aaron was extremely friendly and helpful as we had to finagle our visit schedule a bit after making the reservations. He's quick to get back to you if you contact him and seemed to understand what travelers needed for the stay. Overall we could not have had a better visit here. Highly recommended to all VRBO'ers from this group of 6 adult friends.

This is a wonderful property right on the river. It was so nice and just what our family needed for a weekend away. It was clean and excellent accommodations.

Place is as described. Had such an amazing time! It was so peaceful and quiet and enjoyed the kayaking and paddle boarding. We all fished and caught some bluegill, catfish and bass. The beds were comfy and kitchen stocked with everything you may need. Also close to downtown. Would definitely stay again.

My husband, our 4 kids, and myself had a great time staying here. The river is a beautiful view here. Tons of room to spread out. And now my husband wants to remodel our bathroom based on the downstairs bathroom.

Family trip had a great time! Wonderful home, we did the hike that’s close by and tried fishing from doc not much luck on the doc but we had a great time relaxing in the home. Also enjoyed the dogs that dropped by! Thanks for allowing us to use your home!

My family of 6 (all girls) enjoyed our weekend getaway. The house was large enough for everyone to feel comfortable. As previously mentioned, the kitchen was well stocked and we cooked all of our meals. We were not use to driving in the mountains and there were lots of sharp curves. Which meant we didn’t leave or come back after dark lol. That was ok because we enjoyed each other and that gorgeous view of the mountain.
4.7
We enjoyed this riverfront home. The family loved sitting on the large deck, fishing from the dock and watching the barges, boats and kayaks go by. Our daughter was married at Snooper’s Rock and we had plenty of room for post ceremony celebration and brunch.
4.7
Beautiful views, plenty of room for everyone, and everyone enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board.
4.7
We had a wonderful time, there was a full house for us. It gives you room to move around, enjoy the outside yet great privacy. It's like a riverfront compound. Lots of things to do and easy to get to downtown.
4.7
Pros: large space, great view and back porch. Dog friendly. Location is close to downtown Chatanooga. Conducive to water activities and fishing.
Cons: Low water pressure, water does not get hot. Outdated bedding/uncomfortable.
4.7
We had a great time. The cabin was clean and lots of space for the kids. It was nice to be right on the river with a dock and paddle boards, rafts to use. It was a nice little family getaway.
4.7
The property as a whole fit our family of 6 and 2 dogs as well. The fenced in yard was great for the dogs and privacy.
We enjoyed the fishing and kayaking while my kids enjoyed the paddle boards.
If we make a return trip to the area we would definitely stay here again.
4.7
We enjoyed it. Great view. I do however wish the neighbor would keep his dog over at his own house.
Hope to go back one day

Stayed here with some friends. It’s on the river and close enough to Chattanooga to go for eating and site seeing. Would stay here again.

Our family enjoyed our stay at The River Bunker. Our kids caught more fish than we could count. A pair of eagles circled the mountain each afternoon. We saw some boat traffic but it was not a busy stretch of water during our stay.
The kitchen was well stocked for a rental property. We cooked every meal at home and had everything we needed. We had plenty of towels/linens and beds were comfortable.
The road on which the house sits is very narrow and curvy but not as big a deal to us as others have mentioned. Its a 10 minute, two mile drive from the home to the main highway but worth the drive when you get there. Our concern driving in for the first time was not so much about the road conditions as it was with some of the neighboring properties which seemed rough. However, mixed in among the homes where you might expect to hear dueling banjos, are nice homes that appear to be new or newly renovated. After a day or two into our stay and few trips to/from the house, we began to feel very comfortable with the surroundings.
My only complaint was with the HVAC system. The upstairs and downstairs were drastically different temperatures. The most balanced temps we could achieve was 73 upstairs and 59 downstairs. To get downstairs warmer, would make the upstairs unbearably hot. To make the upstairs comfortable, downstairs would be unbearably cold.
Otherwise it was very enjoyable.

We stayed here for Christmas weekend and we loved it! Great location. I was worried about the drive there, but it was fairly easy. Every time we needed to speak to the owner, he answered everything promptly. There were a few dogs who came on the property but they were really nice.

Our family enjoyed this home. Plenty of room for everyone. Communication with owner was easy.
The view of the river is beautiful.

Stayed here for a work trip (travel to Chattanooga 1-2x a month) - we changed it up from doing a hotel… and it was just what we needed. Got a lot of work done on the porch- with an amazing view!! Hope to stay again!!
4.7
We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner was quick to answer my questions and made the whole process smooth. Everything was clearly laid out for us and made of easy for us to enjoy the backyard and river.

This home has a beautiful open floor plan that makes it easy to enjoy with family and friends! The view out the back was so gorgeous, relaxing and peaceful! Close to Chattanooga too! We would definately rent again.

Neighbor went crazy on us when we did fireworks on the 4th .
Neighbor shot a gun multiple times in our direction because of our fireworks on the 4th.
This guy is crazy !! Not a big fan of the 4/5 roaches
In the house. Inside is dated, will not rent this place again .

Good Times On The TN River
We had fun at the house. It was generally as advertised. The driveway is steep and leaving the driveway was a bit harrowing with cars zooming down the narrow road. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The views!!’
It was super spacious and accommodating. We did a lot fishing and caught tons of catfish. The access to the water wasn’t great and not really a great swimming spot for kids which was disappointing but we made the best of it we brought a water mat. Tons of hiking and things to do around there . We did have about 4 different dogs come to the property a lot they were all nice but our kids were terrified. Overall it was an amazing stay

Wonderful relaxing retreat! Our family basked in the sun, refreshed in the shade, kayaked, played and had an overall blast! It was perfect! Be prepared as disposable supplies (trashbags & soap) are sparse in the home but all essentials are there. We cooked and ate in every meal...wonderful grill & a fire-pit (no wood though so prepare). Lots of wildlife and beautiful serene setting!
4.7
The house was clean, laid out well, fully stocked and a view that does not disappoint. Big yard and easy access to the river. We appreciated the beach towels and paper products that were provided. (I hate when you get only one roll of toilet paper for your stay! The owners provided plenty of TP,
Kleenex and paper towels.). Great responsive owner. Easy drive into downtown Chattanooga (less
then 20 min) We really loved everything about our stay here.

We had a wonderful time with family. The view of the water and river were wonderful. It was a short trip into Chatanooga but we mostly stayed in and cooked. We made a bonfire and roasted marshmallows. My grandkids had a ball. It rained the whole time and the ground was muddy but we had fun playing outside too. The house is very spacious and there is plenty of room to get together. My only complaint is I could have used a casserole dish as I cooked most of the meals. The can opener didn"t work so we bought the kitchen a new one. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean and nice.
We LOVED our stay.
