About this house rental
Our home is nestled on a hill in the Real Island area located in Lotts slough, a deep water slough that feels secluded and private. The house boasts two living rooms! The upstairs living room has built-in sofas that double as twin beds and incredible views from the downstairs living room complete with a wood-burning fireplace for the cold winter months. The house comfortably sleeps 8 people. The spacious master bedroom faces the end of the slough with a balcony perfect for watching the sunset. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook including gas and charcoal grills located on the porch. With three covered porches, there is plenty of outside seating overlooking the water. All bedrooms have a TV. House has WiFi sufficient for streaming/Zoom/WebEx.
The house has a boat slip where you can dock your boat and room for additional boats. The area is perfect for swimming or just grabbing your favorite float and sitting in the water all day.

I love the view and being in the water. We enjoyed every moment. The fire pit was awesome and pieceful. It was raining the first 2 days but besides that everything was peaceful listening to the rain on the porch to the last night being able to use the firepit. This is my favorite place to stay.

First I will say the renter was very generous in letting us check in a couple hours early because we were getting ready for my daughter’s graduation. Also, there was lots of seating outside to enjoy the gorgeous view. I do wish the listing had been more specific about the sleeping arrangements. There is one bedroom with a queen size bed and one bedroom with a full. The master also has a full and the stairs leading up to that room from the kitchen does not have a door. If you need complete privacy, there are only 2 rooms that will be completely behind closed doors. I had to contact the renter when we got there because the couches did not fold out couldn’t find all the beds! There are two bench seats with a thin cushion in the main living area and those are considered the twin beds. They are not in a bedroom as advertised, smaller than a twin bed and the cushion was very thin and nothing at all close to what sleeping on a mattress feels like. This would be great for a larger group of people that are wanting to crash at the lake for a few days and are comfortable sleeping anywhere! If you have older family members and are wanting everyone to sleep comfortably, I would limit it to 3-6 people at the most!

Our only 2 complaints- only one roll of TP in each bathroom, so we ran out after 1 night with 7 people (we didn’t think to bring extra just for the weekend); and inaccurate sleeping arrangements listed. There are no twin beds- I guess the seating corner upstairs was listed as that, which is smaller than a twin mattress (and very thin). Comfortably, it sleeps 6 adults (if sharing- there are 3 beds total) and then 2 kids/smaller adults on the corner seating upstairs.
However, overall I LOVED this booking!! There was a ton of seating, so we were all able to fit comfortably everywhere. The view was amazing on the lake and the area was super quiet. It’s in the middle of nowhere, so if you’re looking for a quiet getaway, this is the perfect place. Easy access to the dock/lake, nice outdoor seating, tons of shade, a nice fire pit, and great amenities overall inside and outside. Would love to come back!

We had a great time, it was packed full of fun memories. We went to Auburn game, sat around fire pit and did s'mores, and my 3 year old grandson caught his first fish. It was sooo much fun hope to do it again in the spring.

This property was just as described and provided remarkable views of Lake Martin. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked. There was plenty of space for a fantastic girls getaway and the bonus was having 3 refrigerators -- no coolers needed! Never fear about Alabama heat and dreadful humidity, as the AC units work perfectly. The property does sit on a considerable slope - tennis shoes recommended over flip flops for us older folks. Great hostess who always responded immediately re: questions. You will not regret booking this beautiful Lake Martin home.

My family stayed here over a weekend while we attended wedding events in Eclectic. The house itself is pretty neat; we particularly enjoyed sitting together on the lower porch facing the lake. We even managed to work in a swim one morning. Thank you for sharing this place!

The house is on a beautiful setting on a quiet part of the lake with great views and lots of outdoor seating. There is a really nice dock for fishing, sunbathing, and launching kayaks. We also enjoyed the firepit outside. It was a nice place for our family to gather for our daughter's college graduation weekend.
The only downsides were
1) the microwave did not work which made it difficult to quickly heat up food for our group. I sent the owner an email to ask if she had any suggestions for hitting a reset switch, but I did not get a response.
2) I saw some roaches in the house (which probably is common in a wooded area on the lake), but one ran through the drawer with cooking utensils so I recommend washing all dishes before using them
3) There is a musty smell in the house (also probably comes with most lake houses that are in high humidity). We were able to leave doors open to mitigate it.

The house was everything we had hoped for. Beautiful view of Lake Martin. The area is so peaceful and watching the fish swim around the light in the lake was so cool.

Property was not very clean, found a pile of dirty clothes behind a dresser, dishes were not clean when pulling them out of cabinets, kitchen was not well equipped for party of 10 , only 1 small frying pan, stairs inside of house were not well represented in photos, outside deck had some safety issues, and pathway to lake was dangerous, rail was too short to be of any help. Lake was PERFECT, views from the house were fantastic, bedding was comfortable, 2 common areas were nice...

Great weekend get away
The house was great getaway.. everything was supplied that’s was needed for a great get away located on a very quiet part of the lake away from boat traffic but a short ride to anywhere on the lake . Look forward to staying again in the future

Weekend stay
My stay started with receiving a message from the property owner telling me that if I weren’t getting married this weekend she would have cancelled me. She went on and on and on about how the “last time I stayed” the house was left a mess and check out time wasn’t followed, when I in fact have NEVER stayed in this property. I quickly called the property owner Melissa told her I have never stayed in her property and that I don’t know what that message was about and she didn’t offer any apology just said “oh okay good”. Also, I wasn’t given any clear check out instructions because she assumed I had stayed there before and just knew.
I felt very uncomfortable staying there but with my wedding being this weekend I didn’t have any choice to find somewhere else on such a short notice. Also, it was mediocre in the cleanliness category. Dust everywhere, trash in the couch, bathroom tubs not clean, toilet not clean. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone.

Loved the property, absolutely beautiful and clean, checkin process was easy, host was responsive. There’s not much going on around the property though; restaurants are seasonal, no activities, limited grocery, etc. so be aware of this.

Our family loved the house. It had plenty of room for everyone. The dock with the underwater light was definitely everyone’s favorite part.
