The view of the Cathedral is partial, but you'll stay in a historic Florentine building, in the heart of the Renaissance! The works take place from Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and sometime on Saurday morning. Take a look at the photos in the listing! The apartment 'Florian' is situated in Piazza del Duomo in the heart of Florence’s historical centre, on the 4th level ( no lift ) of a prestigious XVI century palace that once belonged to the Ghiberti family, one of Florence’s most important historical families, with easy steps well worth the journey. From October 25 2009, Piazza del Duomo is a pedestrian area with all the advantages that an area like that can offer Spending time in my apartment is to be accompanied by the shadow of the magnificent dome of Brunelleschi, the grandeur of Giotto’s belltower and the splendour of Vasari’s frescos, in an unforgettable dream that Florence will dream with you and bring you great joy and an even greater desire to return. Florian directly faces the Duomo, giving you the sensation that you could reach out and touch its magnificent green and white marble facade. The apartment has been completely restored in Florentine style, but with all modern comforts. Florian is a romantic and welcoming apartment comprising: a cosy living room with a comfortable sofa bed (120 by 195), a small and fully-equipped kitchen with a balcony that offers a charming view of Florence, a bedroom with two single beds (85 by 200) that can be transformed into a double bed. A small entrance hall with a splendid view of the Duomo and one modern bathroom with shower complete the description of the apartment. All modern comforts are provided: air conditioning, LCD TV, satellite TV, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, american coffee, WiFI internet dsl no cable, air conditioning, safe, security door and intercom. CHECK-IN: I always meet my guests to hand over the keys so I need to make an appointment with you in advance. CHECK-IN is possible from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. From 1:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. check-in is not allowed. LATE CHECK-IN: From 8:00 p.m to 11:30 p.m. there is an additional charge of € 25.00 (check-in/cash). From 11:30 p.m to 1:00 a.m. there is an additional charge of € 35.00 (check-in/cash). CLEANING FEE: € 50.00 in euro cash upon arrival ( check-in ). STAY TAX: The City of Florence has decided to extend the “Stay Tax” (introduced in 2011) also to private rentals (on top of Hotels, B&B and so on..) The Tax is 5.50 EURO PER NIGHT/EACH GUEST for a max of 7 nights to be paid in euro cash upon arrival. ELECTRICITY: From June 1st to September 30th electricity will be calculated on consumption with counter ( euro 0.60 x kWh ) to be paid on check-out in euro cash. What a beautiful apartment in the heart of Florence!
You literally walk out onto the Piazza del Duomo and immediately surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops.
The cathedral is literally in front of you.
It is also an easy walk to the Uffizi museum, Accademia and Palazzo and Ponte Vecchio.
Luca is a very attentive host who met with me and gave me an excellent overview.
Yes, there are 4 flights of stairs to go up but that is typical of most of Europe in my experience. Just something to keep in mind if you have a mobility issue.
Unfortunately the facade of the building is under construction so views out the window are minimal right now but who wants to see the views from inside?
The washer is also out of commission right now due to this outside construction if that is something you were wanting and needing.
Overall, this is an exceptional apartment with a location that cannot be beat!

This super clean apartment is directly across from the Duomo, so within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Luca, the apartment owner, is a gem. He communicated with us through the entire booking and arrival process. He even met us at the apartment to clearly explained how everything in the building operated. So easy!

The apartment is beautiful and situated next to Il Duomo. It is 10 minutes to the main train station on foot. The taxi from the airport was able to leave us practically at the front door. There are many cafes, bars, and restaurants literally steps from the building entrance. It is also a short walk to L’uficcio, La academmia, and Ponte Vecchio.
Everything in the apartment worked great, including the AC and clothes washer. We are two adults and a child and found the size to be just right. This is a great place for a small family.
For me the only negatives would be the amount of stairs as it is on the top floor. Bringing up the luggage after a long flight was unpleasant, but you only have to do it once. If you have physical limitations however you might reconsider. As the apartment overlooks the piazza there is ambient noise that goes into the morning. This includes live musicians, church bells, and some evening revelry. Personally we love this as it sounds like Italy and makes the location festive. I wouldn’t call it loud or intrusive at all. We slept great every night.
The check in and check out process couldn’t have been easier. Luca was wonderful and began communicating with us before we arrived in Italy. He sent very detailed instructions to get to the property including what to tell the taxi driver in Italian. Our family loved Firenze and enjoyed very much staying in this very charming property!

The location was great! Right across from Duomo and close proximity to many restaurants and coffee shops. In the evenings, you could listen to the street performers, Even though this area of the city is very busy, the apartment is quiet. It was perfect for our short stay in Florence.

This apartment is conveniently located a rock’s throw from the Duomo and is beautifully furnished with breath taking views. Luca is an exceptional host and provided me with several amenities that made it comfortable during my vacation. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during my time in Florence. Our stay in Florence was fabulous! Our host Luca was fantastic! Can’t say enough about his prompt responses and excellent communication. He was friendly and helpful with tips about Florence. Apartment was lovely with the entertainment from the street below and quiet when we needed it. Stairs are true to description but we loved the challenge! Apartment had all the amenities we needed but the best was the coffee maker!

This apartment was one of our favorite VRBOs to stay in ever! Luca was an excellent host, and was responsive to my questions before we booked and also after. Our plans didn't go as planned and Luca was very accommodating for check in. He also took the time to make sure we understood how to work the locks and that we knew everything we needed to know for the apartment. We really appreciated that he had someone there to help with our luggage. The apartment itself was perfect! Cozy, but enough space and the air conditioning made it totally comfortable even in peak of the summer heat. The location of this apartment is EVERYTHING! It is close to many shops, restaurants and sights. It was an easy walk to everything we wanted to see and allowed us to find things we didnt know we wanted to see. We were also able to walk to and from the train station even with all our luggage. We would highly, highly recommend this apartment. Its a real gem!

Luca was a perfect host, easy to communicate with and very thoughtful. He arranged for someone to meet us downstairs and help carry our suitcases up the 87 steps, which was a nice surprise. He also had stocked the apartment with coffee, tea, and bottled water. He met us inside and showed us how everything worked. The place was sparkling clean! We really enjoyed being right in the middle of Florence, and it was surprisingly very quiet at night. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Luca was an excellent property manager. Great communication from start to finish. The apartment is exactly as advertised but the view of the Duomo from the room is even better. A true old world Florence experience. Nice bathroom, comfortable beds and laundry in the apartment. I will definitely return!

My husband and I LOVED staying here! Luca was friendly and welcoming, and gave us plenty of recommendations for food in the area. The view of the Duomo was truly incredible, and the apartment was spacious and had everything we needed! Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful city with the duomo right outside the windows. The listing is completely accurate. Yes there are stairs but so worth the climb. Perfectly outfitted apartment. Could not have had a better experience. Luca was very good with communication and showing us around the apartment. Would stay there again!

Luca was a great host, shuttled our luggage to the place upon arrival, explained everything to detail, provided suggestions, and even scheduled our 6:30am Taxi for return flight to the airport. As provided in the description, there are lots of stairs, good workout but not for those that might struggle.

Wonderful host
Although we were not able to complete our trip and stay at this beautiful property because of the pandemic, Luca could not have been more gracious. A close friend stayed here before the pandemic (our review is based on their experience) and had nothing but rave reviews for their stay. I hope that we get there soon and look forward to our stay.

We didn't cook there, but the kitchen was nicely equipped. The bed was wonderful. Only the internet/cable was disappointing because we wanted to check virus travel status and couldn't get any channels.
