The two guest bedrooms share a beautiful bathroom with shower. One bedroom doubles as an office with a comfy pull-down Murphy bed with a memory foam mattress. The apartment sleeps 6 - 2 queen-sized beds and one double bed.
The kitchen features full-sized fridge, heavy duty gas cooktop, gas oven, microwave and top-rated Cuisinart toaster over and Ninja blender. All dishes, silverware, knives, bowls, plates and everything you need to cook the fresh produce bought at the 10 de Agosto Market or Tia Market, just steps down the street.
Granite counter-tops, stainless steel sink and appliances. Radio to keep you entertained while washing the dishes with a window overlooking the orchid garden.
Dining area includes a table with places for 6 designed and built by Cuenca's top furniture maker, Luriq. Built-in banquette for potlucks and Nilson Rea designed wheeled, granite topped island for prep.
Saving the best for last: balconies overlooking the Rio Tomebamba are located on each floor. Both balconies include lovely stainless steel, custom made planters. The bottom floor for herbs and the top floor with 3 small trees for screening the view from the adjacent penthouse.

We enjoyed our stay at this location. Close to restaurants, shopping, and markets. In the center of the activity of this city but yet quiet once you enter the gate.

Cannot state how much we LOVED this place! If you are considering visiting Cuenca highly recommend this townhouse. It's in a great location, in an absolutely beautiful building and has such a stunning view from both balconies. The office manager, Cecilia, was wonderful and lovely. Without too much detail, our original 13 hour plane trip ended up in a 2 day scenario due to 1 leg of our journey being delayed. Which is to say when we finally got into Cuenca we were exhausted. Cecilia loaded the townhome up with fruit, eggs, bread, beer, wine -- everything we needed to not have to go out that evening. Wonderful. The place is fully equipped, nice washer/dryer, and we loved the biodegradable products (shamppo, conditioner, body soap, laundry products, dish/hand soap). Absolutely one of the best accomodations we've had.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this apartment and we love it. The owner and property manager are both wonderful to deal with and we hope to come back soon!

The title says it all. Up on the cliff between the lower south side which is newer, wider streets and sidewalks and the historic district. Three blocks to the Central Park, a block to an incredible fresh food market. Close to pretty much everything. This was the third time we rented this apartment and we’ve already booked it for next winter.

We had a wonderful stay for a month in Cuenca. The property manager, Cecelia, was very helpful, providing beautiful flowers, delicious chocolates, some refrigerator items, and a notebook with restaurant recommendations and reviews. This condo is in a prime location, within walking distance to so many restaurants, museums, and the historic town square. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and the beds were comfortable. From the master bedroom, we had a terrific view of the city and mountains. It was great to have enough space to entertain guests who came for a short visit.

Beautiful views, exactly as advertised. Super clean and new, no complaints. Cecilia the manager was amazing at answering questions and helping us.
100% will be staying at this location again. Perfectly situated in the heart of all the restaurants and shops.

The condo is modern, well- equipped, and located in a perfect spot to walk to Museums, the old town of Cuenca, shopping and too many great restaurants to count. Cecilia, the property manager, is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and responsive. We have already booked another stay for 2024.

This is our 3rd stay at this wonderful condo. It is a great location, four blocks from main square plus it looks out over the river. It is a spot of tranquility with a very bustling city right outside the complex's entry door. It's comfortable, everything works. The building manager is very responsive to questions. Good info package. We've already booked for next year.

Location, location, location. The condo is just as advertised and is located in the historic section of Cuenca so we walked everywhere. The view from the master bedroom is spectacular, especially for the New Year Eve fireworks. Cecilia, the property manager was super accommodating and promptly met all our needs during our month long stay. . Highly recommend this property.

Perfect home away in Cuenca
We loved staying here for the few weeks we were in Cuenca. It felt like home away from home. Perfect location to historic district but also a quick walk to the other side of the river with other supermarkets and restaurants. We can’t say enough good things about this place!

An Oasis in Cuenca!
This apartment kicks butt! Beautifully furnished, sparkling clean, killer views. The attention to detail is what sets this place apart from any others I've rented.
Terry, the host, was a pleasure to deal with and the on-site manager, Cecilia, greeted us with gifts: Ecuadorian coffee, fresh-baked bread, a dozen eggs and speciality chocolates to die for. AND two dozen red roses and gladiolas, too. Plus she was always available to answer our questions and offer suggestions about the area. Cecilia, you rock!
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll want for cooking and entertaining. I especially appreciated the basics being supplied to get us started: paper products, dish soap, laundry detergent, olive oil, spices, and butter. There's even a lemon tree and little herb garden on the patio where a playful green hummingbird comes around every day.
(I've named him Basil) :-)
The king -size bed is super comfortable, the linens good quality, and the towels plush. The showers always had plenty of hot water and good pressure.
Weekly cleaning service was provided, too.
Oh, did I mention the awesome views from the living room and master bedroom? Well, you'll see!
Just a block away is a huge mercado where we bought our fresh veggies and fruits and the Super Maxi Market is just a short taxi ride away. Very convenient.
The Parque Calderon is an easy walk from the front door with plenty of restaurants and stores in between. We always felt safe in this neighborhood both day and night.
Behind the apartment are steps leading down to the paved walking path along the Rio Tomebamba. A very pleasant walk with restaurants and museums lining the way.
No place is ever perfect, but this one comes pretty darn close. In fact, I can't really think of a thing to improve upon.
Grab this place if you can. Cuenca is a lovely city. Enjoy your stay!

Great spot for long term exchanges in Cuenca
We enjoyed our stay immensely. Cuenca is a great city with lots of things to do. We were warmly welcomed by the property manager when we arrived. The condo is excellent with beautiful views of the Rio Tomebamba and southern Cuenca. Nice people in the complex too. We hope to stay again in the coming years.

Great vacation Rental in Cuenca
If you are looking for a vacation rental in Cuenca, and this property is available do not hesitate and book it. Great location very secure, quiet the only noise you will hear is the sound of the river flowing down. Close to supermarket, the open market, Parque Calderon, many restaurants, etc. Cecilia the property manager is very quick in responding to any issues if they arise. We truly enjoyed our stay at this apartment.

Cuenca Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Riverfront condo. The condo was well appointed with nearly everything we needed for our month in Cuenca. With the exception of a dishwasher, the condo had all needed appliances, and all fairly modern and in good working condition. Baking dishes and serving dishes, pots and pans, plates, glasses, silverware, coffee pots, toasters, etc. were all there. The furniture and bedding were very comfortable and much appreciated after a long day of walking the city.
The location of the condo is hard to beat. Located on the Tomebamba River, the view of the river and "new town", were nice. Access out the front of the building to Calle Larga, one of the main streets of 'Old Town" made walking easy to any location we needed, wanted to do or to see. The riverwalk out the back of the condo was a great place to stroll and to find places to eat or drink. Cabs were easily available if needed, and cheap.
The manager, Cecilia, was wonderful. She greeted us when we arrived and showed us the condo. She provided us with a very helpful owners book full of recommendations. She was always available by email to answer any questions we had.
We will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to visit Cuenca again. We will happily recommend the condo to any friends who wish help in planning a trip to Cuenca.

Tied for first place based on 10 different homes in 10 countries
My wife and I spend two to three months each winter in a different city in a different country. We are retired in our early 70's and focus on one city per trip.
We have learned by hard experience what is important in a multi-month stay. The first major element is the commitment of the landlord and support staff. Terry, Cecilia and Angelita are outstanding. Terry was always prompt in replying to our emails, Cecilia was always available to respond to our questions and help with problems, and Angelita could be counted upon to leave the space immaculate.
The accommodations were first rate. We especially appreciated the kitchen as it was stocked with all the necessary tools which is not that common in our experience. The bedrooms upstairs had queen beds that were comfortable, both bathrooms had walk in showers, the master bedroom had a floor to ceiling window that looked out over the city and the Tomebamba River. There is a washer and dryer off the upstairs terrace. A washer/dryer are critical for a long term stay.
Downstairs the living room furniture was some of the most conformable we have experienced with good lighting for reading. There is a floor to ceiling window that overlooks the city and the river. There is a very nice four place patio set on the downstairs terrace over looking the very well-groomed grounds.
The apartment is very conveniently located. The Tia market is just up the street across from the very large covered local vendors market. The central plaza, Calderon Park is an easy 10 minute walk. Along the way you pass plaza San Francisco, the newly rejuvenated plaza, and the Plaza de las Flores, the flower market. Along Calle Larga and sides streets are numerous restaurants and cafes. All very convenient. The very large Supermaxi supermarket is an easy 15 walk, along the river and through the Parque de la Madre. If you decide to take a taxi to the most distant city venue, we never paid more than a $3 taxi fee.
Other considerations: One enters on the street level, walks back past two interior gardens to the 16 steps up to the front door and main level of the apartment. It is another 16 steps up to the bedroom floor. There is a rear gate down at the river walk that is accessed by a set to steps and terraces. Although there is some city noise, it is not that big a deal. The jasmine vines around the grounds are very fragrant.
Conclusion: Tied for first place based on 10 different homes in 10 cities around the world

Lovely condo in great location in downtown, historic Cuenca... well-managed and friendly neighbours
Everything was great in this lovely, modern condo: a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable seating and beds, contemporary decor, two televisions, Netflix etc... Outstanding staff, with Cecilia the administrator, Angelita the cleaning lady, Angel (2), the gardner and the maintenance man... always friendly and responsive. The central location meant that all the historic, cultural, restaurant, shopping needs were just a short walk away... And, finally, Terry, the owner, could not have been more helpful in responding to questions and requests from our very first contact onwards...... In all, a really top-class experience!!!

Amazing place, location, & hospitality in the heart of Cuenca
This apartment is fantastic. The caretaker, Cecilia, was wonderful on our arrival, and she set us up with everything we needed. The place is spotless, modern, comfortable, well-equipped, and quiet! The location can't be beat--overlooking the River, but also with immediate access to the historic downtown.

See and Hear the Tomebomba from Two Patios
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-1/2 week stay in this lovely condo in the Cuenca Centro. It is well laid out, nicely appointed, and effectively maintained and managed. Loved the eclectic artwork. The kitchen was very functional: a great place to cook Ecuadoran food with fruits and veggies from the nearby 10 de Agosto Mercado the Vergel Supermaxi. We arrived early in the morning from Quito and were met by the owner’s very helpful agent, Cecilia, and a welcome basket of fruits, bread, honey, wine, coffee, and sweets so we didn’t have to rush to the grocery store. There were also starter stocks of essentials (dish soap, toilet paper, etc.). Having stayed in other VRBOs that were not so stocked, we really appreciated that.

A great apartment and very well supplied with everything needed for a perfect vacation in Cuenca. Also, wonderful views of the mountains and nearby river from the master bedroom and living room terraces. Our on-site condo manager Cecilia was invaluable in making our stay perfect. The Views and the Terraces
We just spent 5 weeks in this wonderful condo. The condo comes fully equipped for cooking in if you so desire. More than half the time we spent on the beautiful terrace reading, writing or just gazing at the view. Cecelia the awesome property manager is extremely helpful and does a great job of taking care of you. Great treats await you.The apartment complex, which is gorgeous, is in a perfect location to visit the many restaurants, museums etc. and to enjoy both the Historical District and the newer part of beautiful Cuenca. Enjoy your stay and the sights and sounds of the Tomebamba river!

The property is amazing!
Unit C2 lives up to the photos on the VRBO site. It is bright, beauty, well appointed and very clean. The view from living room and the master bedroom is spectacular! Cecilia, the property manager is helpful and welcoming. The location is idea. There are cathedrals, museums, markets and restaurant with walking distance. Bring an umbrella, it rained each day, but overall the weather was warm and comfortable. We were fortunate to have the owner Terry meet us and take us on a walking tour to introduce us to the neighbourhood.

Fantastic space and location
What a lovely place to spend time in Cuenca! The home was immaculate and fully equipped with everything you would need. The welcome gifts were very thoughtful, generous, and very much appreciated. The location is so convenient - I loved being able to walk down the steps to the river to several great places to eat, or cross over to Solano to catch a bus. And out the front door at street level brings you to all that El Centro has to offer. It is located in a little community of very friendly people and the property manager was super helpful. Having outdoor space was great and the views are indeed amazing! All in all, a great choice when in Cuenca. Thank you!

Perfect location!
Terry's home is just right for your Cuenca visit. On the same street you can find great restaurants, and the Parque Calderon is just a few blocks away. As you walk the centro, you will find everything you need to enjoy the city. Just sitting in the parks and watching daily life can be a pleasure. Grab a cab in front of the apartment, and be anywhere for less than $3. For the best experience, I recommend walking the streets without a destination in mind.
Inside the home, you will find a comfortable living area on the main floor, and three bedroom upstairs. From the master, you have a wonderful view of the city across the river. Cecelia, the manager, was most gracious, and was easy to contact.
We can highly recommend Terry's home for your stay.

One of the classiest condos in Cuenca
Loved the unit. Just as it was pictured on the VRBO site. The condo is fully appointed with everything from sheets, to extra blankets to coffee makers to wine openers. Nothing left lacking. Loved the security card reader at the front door from the main street. Coded front door lock to boot. The manager, Cecilia made the whole experience complete. She is a walking talking manager/tour guide. The view from the master bedroom is spectacular. The layout is masterfully done by Cecilia's architect husband. Appreciated the treats left as we were welcomed by Cecilia, wonderful jam, beers, soda water, beautiful fresh flower arrangements. Even though the condo is on Calle Larga, it is so quiet at night that the silence almost wakes you up. This unit could well be place in any major city in the US and compete well with high end units of this size and appointments. We love Calle Large. It is our focal point when we have visited before. It is walking distance to most of the sites of interest. All other sites are short Taxi cab rides away. Thanks to Terry Doyle for putting this on our favorite way to rent when we travel, Vacations Rentals by Owner. You won't be disappointed if you rent this unit when the owners are not relaxing there themselves.

Beautiful condo, perfect location!
We have been to Cuena numerous times and were really uncertain about staying on Calle Larga. We were very pleasantly surprised. The condo is beautiful with everything you need in place for an enjoyable stay. The views are spectacular although the lights from Solano are bright at night and take a bit to get used to. Loved the close proximity to excellent restaurants and El Centro. Great starting point for many walks or easy bus or taxi rides.
The owner and management made check in/out very easy and were available to assist with any questions.
Didn't want to leave. Would love to go back. Thank you for sharing!
