Paradise Found - Luxury Beachfront Villa with Spectacular Ocean Views of the Pacific at Playa Escondida
The property is located on a private, white sandy beach next to Los Sueños Marriot Resort. At the foot of a lush tropical forest where toucans sing and monkeys swing, this expansive abode is perched on a hill with a 180 degree view of the ocean. A stone’s throw from the beach, the villa boasts the best position in the exclusive private gated community of Playa Escondida, where the most discriminating Costa Rican and international families have their vacation homes. Please take note that this condominium caters only to FAMILY LIFE, NO GROUPS OF SINGLE MEN LOOKING FOR SINGLE LADIES IS ALLOWED.
After a period of enjoying the villa for ourselves, we started to rent the house this year since we purchased a slightly larger home down the road. Casa Caracola includes 400 square meters of construction (4,300square feet) and is located less than 50 meters (165 feet) from the beach. It shares a pool and deck area with 5 other elegant homes. The well-kept and secure beach is exclusive to the Club de Playa Escondida SA, community under which it is regulated.
The place has the perfect mix of outdoor living and state-of-the-art technology, i.e. high speed internet throughout the house, full cellular signal coverage, central air-conditioning in the main living room, kitchen and all bedrooms. The main story is centered around an outdoor living room with a stately square dining table with comfortable, upholstered chairs which seat 8, next to a relaxed seating area. The 21 X 21 ft ( 7 x 7 mts) main living room has a ¬¬50” LCD HD TV with Apple TV, a supersized coffee-table with drawers full of board games for all ages. Become an ocean-view cook experimenting in beautiful solid cedar kitchen with granite tops and new stainless steel appliances. Take the solid teak stairs down to a large deck with lounge sofas and hammock that face a lush tropical garden and access three 10 ft ceiling bedrooms. The Blue Room has two full beds separated by a soji screen and a large private bathroom. The Aqua Room has a beautiful colonial-style mahogany queen bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet. The Indigo Room has two large spaces separated with a soji-screen. Upon entering there are two twin beds for kids, behind the glass partition we find the master king bed. Both spaces share a large bathroom with two sinks, they each have spacious closets and access to a private deck facing the garden. Additionally, the villa has a two-car garage, plus two separate spaces for cars, a laundry room with washer and dryer, chairs and stuff for the beach. Yet the best is yet to come…. a rooftop terrace to see the sunset over the Pacific, just before the stars stud the dark celestial sphere, if the moon does not fill everything with its white serene luminescence.
The house’s finishes are premium quality. It is built of reinforced concrete, with thick and tall whitewashed walls. Doors, windows, columns and beams, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and jalousies are made of local almendro hardwood and cedar. Italian porcelanato floors, teak decks, natural-stone-carved sinks in the bathrooms and bamboo ceilings complete the villa´s palette of materials.
Playa Escondida is located less than 2 hours drive from San José’s Juan Santamaría International Airport. It is a secure gated community inside the Marriot Los Sueños Resort, which includes a large marina plus amenities and a paradisiacal 18-hole golf course. It is a few kilometers away from the town of Herradura with its high end supermarket and boutiques, and the city of Jacó Beach where one finds a lively night life, with plenty of restaurants, casinos and shops.

This house is beautiful and is on a private beach near playa Herradura. It’s situated on a mountain above the Los Suenos Marriott resort and is about 20 minutes from Jaco beach. It was very clean and exceeded our expectations.
We hired Olga to cook for us for most of the week and she was AMAZING!! She was so sweet and cooked the most delicious meals! She really was one of the best things about our vacation and cooked us lots of authentic Costa Rican food.
We rented a car from the airport (about 2 hours drive) and highly recommend doing that so that you can get around easier. It’s about a 20 minute drive to the local grocery store / shopping area. We went to the grocery store just about every day. There are loads of activities within a hour to two drive of the house. We used the Viator app to find tours, etc. We also went to the private beach in front of the house nearly every day.
Our host Anna was amazing and always in close communication when I had any questions. She helped me arrange airport transfer as well.
Overall an OUTSTANDING family vacation in a Costa Rican paradise!

What a vacation!! This home was everything we had hoped it would be. We spent most of the day at the very close beach (2 flights of stairs ) or lounging in the outdoor living room. The BEST part of the trip was Olga!! She made us breakfast and dinner every day. It was the most amazing food. She takes great pride in what she makes and everything was so good. She also cleaned the home and changed the sheets mid week. It was so nice to have her and would never want to vacation with out her again. We watched the Macaws every morning from the house. It was such a great location. We will be back!!

Very comfortable house, close to the private beach and to Jaco. We had great dinners with Olga that cooked casado, tacos and empanadas for us. Everybody enjoyed!

My family and I spent 10 wonderful days here. The house met all our needs. It was spacious, the view from the outside room was spectacular and we were just a very short walk to the beach. Many times we had the beach to ourselves. The surf was fun, water warm and beach sandy. Who could ask for anything more?!!!
Olga made a lot of meals for us. It made our experience here truly a vacation. Olga is a wonderful lady who makes delicious meals and was accommodating to our wishes. I would highly recommend her. She also has a great sense of humour. 😊 I really enjoyed having around.

We had a wonderful time and the home is amazing. Beautiful views, secluded and very safe. The beach is private and you really can’t beat it.
Anna was great and very responsive. We did not rent a car like she suggested, and in hindsight it would have been nice to have one. But, with our large group of 8, we felt better having a van and driver come and get us for our excursions, and it worked out fine.

We stayed here with a group of family/friends and our 8 month old baby. The house is beautiful, with jaw dropping views of the ocean. It’s a minute walk to the beach which is practically private and full of shade. We even saw a whale breach from the shore! Anna provided a pack n play, baby bath, and high chair, which was very helpful! Every night we sat in the large outdoor living area enjoying the incredible sunsets while sweet Olga cooked us dinner, which was always so delicious! Olga even offered to hold the baby while we got to eat! She is so kind and really made our experience that much better! I know we plan to stay here again and she is a big reason for that! We really appreciate the lovely experience and would highly recommend to everyone!

Every aspect of our stay was beyond our expectations! This setting provided the perfect spot for my family, including children and grandchildren, to relax, and enjoy quality time together. There was space to be together as well as space to be quiet with privacy. This clean and comfortable home is an incredibly well appointed space that provided everything we needed. The location is also ideal! A beautiful beach, and sunset views were fantastic. An added benefit was accessibility to shopping and fun activities. The property manager was extremely helpful and responded to any questions we had immediately! I am very grateful for her support during our stay! As we left my family wanted to know when we can return!

Our stay at Casa Caracola was by far the best family vacation we have ever had! The location is perfect (1.5 hours from San Jose airport), a few feet from the most stunning private beach, and a short (15-20 min) drive to Playa Herdura and Jaco for restaurants, surfing, and tours. The house was as advertised and better, clean, spacious, breathtaking views, comfortable beds, huge bathrooms. The open veranda and layout made us feel like we were in our own private hotel.
But what made this trip the most memorable was having Olga be part of our stay. She was absolutely incredible! Purchased all our groceries, cooked dinners for us, and breakfast on a few occasions, and did all the cleaning after. We would spend all day on the beach, watch the sunset and then walk up to fresh pinacoladas and hot empanadas being set on the table. She even made my 1 year old son special dinners like pasta or fries in case he didn’t like the food. She made traditional Costa Rican meals one night and gave us our own private cooking lesson, answering all our questions and letting us participate in the preparation of the meal. She was such a sweet and comforting presence during our stay, always available to answer questions or help clean up, even folding our laundry and changing our sheets! We were planning on having her cook only a few meals for us but after eating out once we quickly realized her cooking was far better than any restaurant and ended up having her cook every meal for the rest of the trip!
Anna was quick to respond to any questions and made the booking process smooth and easy. We had 9 adults and 1 infant and the place had more than enough space for everyone.
If you are on the fence about this location let me put you at ease that it is well worth the price. But only if you have Olga make you tacos and empanadas! We miss her already!

We had a wonderful time! The property is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. We felt very safe staying in the lovely gated community. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the private beach is amazing. Anna and Olga were very helpful and kind, we will be back!

It is a very beautiful, luxurious home with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and hear soothing sound of the ocean waves. The property is located in a gated affluent community (near Los Suenos Marriot Resort, near Jaco) with very tight security and near a clean private beach- only about 3to 4 minute walk.
Well designed home with two main levels- 4 bedrooms, fully furnished, each with full bath with shower- on lower level and upper level has large furnished comfortable living room, fully furnished kitchen and open large varanda/patio with comfortable sofas, chairs etc and a large dining table. Third level is rooftop/open terrace with sofas from where one can also have a get together and watch amazing sunsets. Separate strong WIFI connections for both main levels.
The owners and the housekeeper, Olga were very helpful in every way. We even hired Olga to cook evening dinners and she came thru great. She bought groceries, cook and clean which we loved.
Reading past reviews gave us a good guide as to what we needed.
We strongly recommend this property anytime.

Amazing beach house! Absolutely gorgeous views!! Stunning sunset! Beautiful peaceful beach!! The villa was spotless and extremely comfortable and well equipped. Anna was a great host. Very kind and accommodating to say the least. Olga I must add was also fabulous. Not only did she do a little laundry for us she was a fabulous cook too. A pleasure to meet. We loved every bit of our stay and would highly recommend Casa Caracola. We will definitely be back!

Paradise!
Casa Caracola villa is absolutely stunning! The villa and amenities exceeded our expectations and was perfect for making Christmas memories with our family. The villa is exceptionally clean, luxurious, and the location is world class. Anna and her husband were very responsive to any questions we had which we really appreciated. The pictures of the villa and beach are beautiful but, when we actually saw it in person it was breathtaking! We loved everything about it and I think our favorite part was the gorgeous beach and the rooftop lounge - we had a mandatory cocktail hour every night to watch the sunset or look at the stars. My family and I have been to many locations in Costa Rica staying in five star beach resorts - one being the Los Suenos Marriott but, the private beach in Playa Escondida that is literally steps away from the villa is truly paradise! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you again for everything!

Beautiful without being pompous; hospitality you can only dream of! We WILL return many times!
Traveling with young children internationally always causes added stress to planning a vacation and the single most important thing for me was finding lodging to make them comfortable so that we could relax too! This home was perfect! To begin, the homeowner met us at the rental car office to escort us to Herradura and see that we would be comfortable. It blew me away--her willingness to accommodate us! The house is absolutely beautiful, and yet, not so "stuffy" that we were afraid to feel at ease. The design of the house allows maximum relaxation with sleeping quarters separated from living spaces. Perfect for putting kids (and tired grown-ups) to bed without shutting the party down! It was nicely situated to the beach and the community pools. The kitchen and dining areas are great for eating in as a family. The owners were so helpful in aiding us with internet connections, offering tourist advice and making themselves available to answer questions. The maid service was extraordinary, and the security guards did a fantastic job for us. We left dreaming about how to get back to Costa Rica, to Herradura, and this home as soon as possible!

Costa Rica at its best!
We recently spent five precious days with three other couples at this gorgeous home. Our mornings and evenings were spent relaxing on the porch overlooking the water, admiring red Macaws flying by, watching sunsets, cooking breakfast , and listening to the waves and the birds.. Steps from the beach, we would amble down for a walk or take a dip in the pool. The home is spotless, tastefully decorated, well located and everything one could ask for. The owner is delightful and considerate. What a way to vacation!

This is a wonderful holid...
This is a wonderful holiday spot. The villa is about a two hour drive from the international airport on a somewhat challenging mountain road with beautiful views of the country. The villa is approximately 15 minutes from Jaco and there is an excellent grocery store ten minutes away.There are many restaurants in the vicinity.
The villa itself is beautiful -very spacious (lots of room for six adults) and well equipped. The beach is ideal -clean, with lovely sand. Perfect for swimming and even surfing but not a snorkelers' destination .
There are wonderful nature reserves with fabulous birds and reptiles including crocodiles.
Having a car is essential. There is no internet or international cellular connectivity from the villa although thjere is a landline telephone available. The owners are exceptionally kind and helpful.
