The house was very big with lots of space. I should have thought about the dog dander being present, as I am allergic and had a flare up. Needs some things repaired, like kitchen table bench legs were all loose-my mom got caught up in one and tore her ACL the second night. She then had to be immobile for the rest of the week. Would have been nice to have the community area have a wheelchair and a beach wheelchair foe people to use so we could have wheeled her up the ramp to the second floor of the beach hut. Also the pool does not have a handicap seat for entrance to swim. She would have been able to enjoy that.Would probably choose a different house next time that does not allow animals. We did like location along the woods to see wildlife and have a quiet night time.The golf cart did not work but we got a replacement on the 4th day finally. We still had a nice time especially the kids and will continue to come back but would love to see some accessibility improvements.Would recommend this house if not allergic to animals etc..

I’ve stayed in 5 homes and unfortunately this one was super dirty. Never liked to keep shoes on but had to to avoid black feet. We were given one towel a person and no beach towels. Beach chairs sucked. They didn’t even clean up leaves in back yard. I stayed here as they allowed dogs was only plus. Basement couch was awful. Most beds not comfortable. Microwave glitchy. Golf cart was very slow.

We were looking for a place within Beachwalk that could house 3 families and a dog, and Lazy Dog Dunes fit perfectly. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and there was plenty of space. We stayed 3 nights. Everything seemed brand new and clean. There were some toys and books for the kids in addition to the popular foosball table. We loved the screened in porch on the back of the house for breakfast lunch and dinner, and just to extend the living space a little bit. The kitchen was well stocked with silverware, plates and cookware. We used the golf cart to get back and forth to the clubhouse, but the walk was enjoyable as well. We were able to park 2 cars in front of the house and then we had a 3rd car in the parking lot, which is just a short walk away. We loved the proximity to the playground as well. Overall it was such an enjoyable experience!

Property is great for extended family or several families with layout that includes a separate living space, two bedrooms and a full bath all on lower level. However no bedroom on main floor as advertised. Rest of bedrooms upstairs. The place was dirty upon arrival (which has been an issue at Beachwalk in the past). It is a very surface level cleaning done when flipping the homes between guests and this house is filthy and LONG overdue for a very deep clean. The quick in-between cleans are no longer sufficient at this place. The house came with the bare minimum. Not even shampoo or kleenex or Tupperware provided. House has tons of old dirty toys all over it: in family room, basement, screened in porch, and backyard. The worst is not only were they dirty but they were just tossed about and unorganized. Made the house feel cluttered with junk. It’s as though guests keep leaving stuff and they never clean it up or purge. Backyard is gross; really isn’t a backyard at all, especially compared to other properties. The white Adirondack chairs back there are black with filth. The wagon it is advertised as including was so run down it was broken. But management was great about quickly providing a replacement wagon as we relied on their being one and didn’t pack ours. One pro is that the management here is always very responsive and helpful and tries to meet your needs and promptly. The new playground this year is an awesome addition to the amenities. We LOVE the amenities at Beachwalk... this is our third year in a row bringing our family here, but this house left MUCH to be desired and would never book it again.

This was our 3rd time staying at Lazy Dog Dunes and as always, the house is perfect for our needs. Plenty of space to spread out, a screened in porch where we spent most of our time hanging out and a nice area out back to sit around a campfire. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, there are plenty of chairs for the campfire and they also had beach chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The kids had a nice selection of games and toys to play with as well. The floors are tiled so it does cause noise to travel, but we learned to be extra quiet in the mornings to help alleviate waking up those that want to sleep in.Overall, I highly recommend this home for your stay.Side note: We travel with a group of 4 other house renters and all of us see the same problem throughout the houses at Beachwalk. Be aware that the sand around all of the houses is very dirty and this in turn causes the main floors in all of the houses to be very dirty even on the first day after the cleaning crew comes in. If you go barefoot in the houses or if the kids play in the sand outside, you will see the effects of this dirt on the kids and the bottom of your feet.

We had a great time overall, most things were great, clean and as advertised. It was nice and quiet and we had great weather. I am dropping a star because the grill was rusted all the way through and deteriorating and we felt unsafe turning the gas on and trying to light the grill which took us 30 minutes. We did eventually get 2/3 of the burners working, but the grill could use replacement. Also, the back screened-in porch had potential to be nice, but when we got there the mats were wet and it smelled like urine the entire time we were there.

This is our 5th stay with Beachwalk Vacation Rentals! We come during the summer and for New Year's Eve. The property description was accurate about everything and it looked even better in-person than the pictures. The Lazy Dog Dunes is very specious house. The property was extremely clean and maintained! Customer service was above and beyond and this is one of the main reasons why we keep coming back. One suggestion we have and noticed with all houses is the amount of trash bags we get. We cook our food every-time and make a lot of trash. I know that if we asked the office we would've gotten but it would have been easier to just have them in the house. We would definitely recommend it to other people. We are coming back for sure this summer. During the winter stays we are somewhat limited on activities but this time we were able to go out for walks every day and enjoyed one evening by the fire outside.

This is a gorgeous property -- very clean, immaculate kitchen and bathrooms, wonderful layout for a large family or even multiple families to stay. Wonderful screen porch off the back... a complete vacation retreat! Our family had the best time staying here and would definitely return. Location is a bit off the beaten path but the LIMO golf cart provided with the home makes it totally doable. We absolutely adore Lazy Dog Dunes! Book it if you have the chance!

We loved getting away from Chicago for a long weekend at Lazy Dog! The kitchen was lauded by my famous chef sister, the firepit in back was lovely, the bathrooms were beautiful, the sceened in porch very valuable because this property is surrounded by woods so there were some mosquitoes, the strolls in Beachwalk were relaxing and fun, the beach absolutely beautiful.The only difficulty was how far this property is from the beach so when it gets its golf cart, that will solve that problem.

Very comfortable for fourteen people. We would stay there again. The neighbors were a little noisy at 1:00 A.M., the wera lot of gulf cart drivers very young in age, and they needed to
be watched to avoid collisions. Overall our experience was excellant.

Our second stay at Beachwalk was everything we hoped for! Lazy Dog Dunes was beautifully appointed, exceptionally well stocked and suited to our needs, conveniently located, and squeaky clean. The house was spacious, offering ample room in common areas as well as plenty of quiet getaway spots for those needing a nap. Beachwalk staff were responsive, attentive, and friendly. Resort amenities were varied and fun. I might suggest a TV for the second master upstairs and sign-up for tennis and putt putt, but overall a five-star experience!

Loved the multi level layout for our large family! Quick response when issues arose
Quick process and we were even able to check in 2 hours early! Prompt response for golf cart issues and when propane was needed. Only thing that could have been improved if the floors were clean, as soon as we walked in our feet were black. Having a wet mop to clean floors prior would be good! Still had a blast, see you next year!

The house is nice, but is missing the "things" that make the experience more comfortable. The furniture is small scale, so being taller people, it wasn't as comfortable as you would like. We have stayed at many other properties and this house was missing things that other houses have that make the stay easy- like limited kitchen tools, extra seating, extra towels, a set of sharp knives. Too, one of the main reasons we rented the house was the 6 person limo golf cart that was advertised in the listing. It was not at the house and made the trips to the beach and pool a two ride trip, or people were walking. All in all, the house was lovely, but didn't stack up well against other houses we have rented at Beachwalk.

I did not have any reference on the rental of this property. I located this on line and read many reviews. The Beachwalk property - Lazy Dog Dunes was very clean and updated. We had 6 aduts and 5 children under 6 yers old. There wa adequate room for everyone but the sound proofing in the walls is minimal. The properties are very close together and you lose some privacy. The three levels of bedrooms is nice with mutiple families. The property pool is ok but can get crowded on the weekends. We thought we had a 6 person golf cart available with the unit but it was a standard size golf cart. The larger golf cart would have been convenient to drive to the beach. The nearby beach area was very nice and clean. We had a very postitive expereince at this property and tyhe management of the property is very professional.

We rented this property for a family reunion (consisting of mostly adults) for some privacy, it's recent construction and overall location in Michigan City. When reserved, there were no homes next door. Upon arriving, 2 new homes were built. We did not like the closeness of the homes, thin walls, plus our beautiful indoor porch is adjacent to the home next door. Parties were going on there, so we didn't spend much time in the back. Previewing the home before the guests arrived, we noticed that there was no hand wash dish detergent, scrub sponge, coffee filters, a broken refrigerator produce door, one broken lightbulb and only 2 verses 4 extra rolls of toilet paper. Nothing we couldn't handle. We had to change the dirty AC filter which was available. Please update your website picture/info. We were bummed when only a 4 person (not 6) golf cart was available and the empty lot next door does not exist. Notify people of the driving situation within the subdivision. Finally, the garbage cans in the rear were always full-recycle bins were used for garbage as well. Overall, the reunion was a success. Thank you.

Beachwalk personnel were really wonderful. House was in a good location (quiet), decent layout and clean. But for a home that was at the high end of the price range, there was much to be improved, namely guest comforts: (Sump pump that didn't alarm every 20 min., bureaus or shelves in bedrooms to lay things on, clocks, king beds (not full), decent towels, etc. Owner did send maintenance men 2 days to try to fix sump.

We are a family of 14 and this home provided plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped and had a wonderful pantry to get things off the cabinets and the dining room table with benches worked well with children plus the table on the screened in porch with additional seating. Walk to beach is a distance but we were provided a golf cart (albeit not a limo as shown) and we had access to a trolley service to shuttle us around. We decided to use the public park just down the road and pay the parking fee which worked much better for us and all our beach stuff. overflow parking was just around the corner as only 2 cars can be parked at the house. the home is remarkable quiet considering neighbors are very close on both sides but inside was a little noisy since there is no carpeting in the home which is a good thing because sand gets everywhere no matter how hard you try! Internet is fantastic!and we had a great supply of bath towels but could of used a couple extra kitchen towels. we also had an issue with a couple of doors but maintenance came right away and fixed them. Thank you so much, wonderful gentleman. Suggestions: basket on table by front door for the keys; set up the tv downstairs; waste basket in half bath and maybe a stool somewhere in house for little ones to use when washing hands. The management company was very helpful when we had issues and provided us with a welcome packet when we checked in. It had lots of information but very little details about the services provided, such as explaining the shuttle comes just like a taxi or that you need to reserve a time to use the kayaks. It is a crowded area but very nice and has a small town feel to it. drive slowly, golf carts and children everywhere!

We enjoyed the vacation rental a great deal. It was perfect for our family with three bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. The small children were safe in the screened in porch and had a great time. The kitchen area was great for a large family. The firepit area was not quite as pictured in the property description but we made it work. The golf cart was super and we really liked the larger size golf cart! We did wonder if the wood floors were ever mopped as our feet got extremely dirty from walking on them. The screened in porch floor needed a good power washing which was understandable with the construction and road near by. Even if we didn't walk in the screened porch our feet would be black from walking inside so a suggestion would be to scrub the floors after each rental.

This is a gorgeous property -- very clean, immaculate kitchen and bathrooms, wonderful layout for a large family or even multiple families to stay. Wonderful screen porch off the back... a complete vacation retreat! Our family had the best time staying here and would definitely return. Location is a bit off the beaten path but the LIMO golf cart provided with the home makes it totally doable. We absolutely adore Lazy Dog Dunes! Book it if you have the chance!

Thoroughly enjoyed this 5 bedroom beach house. We had a small family get together. The house is brand new with beautiful beach decor. Even though it was winter will still took walks to the beach and around the beachwalk community. The house had everything we needed for our thanksgiving dinner- minus the food. Our service was great. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this house.

We love this house. Well designed to fit multiple small groups or families. Large basement, nice bunk beds, and a perfect location by the kids park. We were able to fit our whole family with kids, plus grandma, aunts, uncle, and still have room for a few friends. House includes a golf cart for easy access to the Beach. We loved getting away from Chicago for a long weekend at Lazy Dog! The kitchen was lauded by my famous chef sister, the firepit in back was lovely, the bathrooms were beautiful, the sceened in porch very valuable because this property is surrounded by woods so there were some mosquitoes, the strolls in Beachwalk were relaxing and fun, the beach absolutely beautiful. The only difficulty was how far this property is from the beach so when it gets its golf cart, that will solve that problem.
