About this house rental
Starlight Deckhouse
On a quiet side road, in the charming fishing village of Tenants Harbor, Starlight Deckhouse is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom beautifully appointed vacation home perfect for your group of eight! With its back deck, grand picture windows, and sliding glass doors, it offers impressive panoramic ocean views, and the sights and sounds of the Maine coast will captivate you. Upon arrival, you will note parking for three vehicles in the driveway, two vehicles inside the detached three-car garage, and the beautifully, well-manicured fenced front lawn.
Entering the home you’ll appreciate the high-ceiling foyer, with a bench and a small table for keys. Immediately to your left, the well-lit contemporary kitchen is nicely equipped with ample cupboard and counter space, all stainless major appliances, a microwave, a standard drip coffee maker, a Keurig, a toaster, toaster oven, and plenty of kitchen gadgets and cookware for whatever you decide to create.
The dining room sits off the kitchen, which has a large wood dining table with seating for eight. While the large windows provide generous lighting there is also a chandelier above providing the perfect ambiance for an evening dinner with friends. It’s the ideal spot for laughing the night away over a wonderful Maine lobster dinner!
Moving off the dining area into the living room with its vaulted ceiling, large windows, and retro decor invites you into this warm open space. Your family will enjoy the comfortable sectional sofa, where every seat has the best view, two cushioned armchairs, and a 40" flat-screen television, with cable and a DVD/Blu-ray combo, perfect for a family movie night, and is complete with a woodburning fireplace for those chilly Maine evenings. Through the sliding door, you step out onto an oceanfront deck spanning the entire length of the house and overlooks the harbor and islands. The deck is equipped with a propane grill, a wicker lounge set and extra chairs, a fire pit, and bistro tables for relaxing and watching your family play on the lawn with some of the games provided, such as ladder ball, bocce ball, lawn darts, or bean bag toss, which can be found in the hallway closet. From the side lawn, and stone steps you will find access to the rocky Maine coast. We suggest wearing shoes as the Maine coast can be a bit rugged, and steep, but it is worth the quick adventure to dip your feet in the surf and enjoy finding sea creatures in the tide pools and seaweed.
Back inside, around the corner from the living room is a cozy den, ready to charm you with its vibrant furniture and décor; certainly a great spot to cozy up watching the large flat-screen TV, reading a book, writing postcards home, or just relax in between adventures on the couch or the two cushioned chairs. Open the sliding glass doors to catch the ocean breeze.
Down the hall on the left is the ocean-facing, primary bedroom, with access to the deck through the sliding glass door, a perfect spot to step out and enjoy a cup of coffee as the sunrise over the harbor will take your breath away. The queen-sized pillow-top bed has a large headboard built into the wall and two nightstands with lamps for your electronics or your favorite nighttime read. There is a large dresser and two walk-in closets, and the connecting primary bathroom has a toilet, tub, shower, vanity sink, and mirror with plenty of space for your bathroom accessories.
Also on the first floor is a full bathroom with a toilet, vanity sink, and mirror for your family's convenience. Next to this bathroom is another queen bedroom with a pillow-top mattress and a beautiful fabric headboard, two nightstands with lamps, a dresser, and two closets, it will put you right to sleep after a long day of exploring. This bedroom also has a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall with cable and a DVD/Blu-ray player for those who enjoy a little television before sleep. Don't forget to open a window before dozing off to the sounds of the sea can bring you dreams of adventures on the high seas.
Lastly, you will find a stackable high-efficiency washing machine and dryer, an ironing board with an iron.
As you take the stairs up to the second floor you enter a nice open hallway that brings you to two large bedrooms, each with two twin-sized pillow-top beds. Both rooms have varying views of the beautiful property, dressers, closets, nightstands with lamps, and mounted flat screen televisions all equipped with cable, these rooms are truly a peaceful getaway. There is another full bathroom with a toilet, shower, and vanity sink with mirror.
For your convenience, we have provided initial supplies of the following: linens, bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and beach towels. Your first tank of propane for the gas grill and fire pit, wood for the fireplace, dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, cable, wireless internet, and a home phone are all complimentary. We make every effort to assure the accuracy of this listing, and the condition of equipment and quality of provided services. We make no implied guarantee of connectivity for wireless internet or services provided by a third party. However, we will do everything in our power to remedy any situation as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your understanding.
Area Amenities:
The Tenants Harbor General Store, is open daily, specializing in morning coffee and pastries, corn, blueberries, native lobsters, fresh-cut meats, firewood, and all grocery supplies. It is only a 10-minute walk, or bring your bike for riding the winding roads for the scenic ocean and island views. This is a pleasantly old and proud Maine community with its own library, school, and fire/rescue department. Knox County Sheriff's Office provides policing services. One-third of all Maine lobsters come from this county, named for General Henry Knox, George Washington's chief artillery officer in the Revolutionary War of 1776. You can learn about him on the peninsula, as well as enjoy programs offered all seasons at Montpelier, the Knox Mansion Museum, located just another few minutes in the nearby coastal town of Thomaston.
Heading another 10 minutes down the St. George peninsula is Port Clyde, another fishing village. You will enjoy beautiful ocean views while enjoying an incredible meal on the wharf and delicious ice cream for dessert from the local ice cream shop. In the heart of Port Clyde, you will find adventure waiting for you. Whether it's visiting a local art gallery, enjoying a day on the ocean with the Wyeth by Water Lobster Boat tours, or the Monhegan Island ferry adventures to see Maine seabirds, including puffins and American bald eagles, spending the day at the local Drift-Inn beach or a picnic at Marshall Point Lighthouse; St. George has something for everyone.
Here are some things you should know about visiting Maine:
Cell phones: Although coverage is getting better, there are some places where cell phones don't have good reception. Chances are you will have service, but just in case, make sure you leave the number of the house you are renting with those who may need to get in touch with you. Coverage with AT&T can be spotty in many areas of Maine.
Weather: If you have heard it once, you've heard it a hundred times: if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute. It can be hot in Rockland and cool in Port Clyde so make sure to pack a variety of clothes — from a bathing suit for hot days to a sweater for cool evenings. Check out the current local weather at www.weather.com.
Bugs: A lot of people ask us if we have mosquitoes...we sure do. But they aren't huge and they don't ruin a vacation. Bring some repellent, or pick some up at the local general stores and you will be fine; usually, you won't even notice them.
Dogs: We love dogs around here, but each town has its own rules about pets. Make sure to look for signs stating if dogs are allowed and always have them on a leash. If they leave behind anything, please pick it up, it's not a fun surprise when you are exploring the beautiful shoreline. You can also be fined for not picking up after your four-legged friend.
Unwanted animals: You probably have them too, but raccoons and skunks can make you regret last night's lobster dinner. No one wants to pick up old, smelly shells that have been cast out onto the lawn by these cute, but curious and disastrously messy, little guys. So please don't put off placing the trash in the secure trashcans provided.
Water: Starlight Deckhouse is not on public water supply. It has a well, with a water filtration system, and is tested regularly once a year. Particulates, discoloration, and iron taste are not uncommon.

As usual our stay at starlight was wonderfully relaxing, with perfect weather. It feels like home with everything you need to make life easy.

Our family enjoyed a relaxing week in this beautiful home. The view was amazing and the house had everything we needed. Can’t wait to return!

This was my first VRBO experience, and I cannot speak highly enough about it. The pictures in the listing accurately reflected the home’s interior and exterior.
The ocean view from the full-length expanse off the backside of the house was beautiful. Waking up to breathtaking sunrises and enjoying evening moonrises was more than I could have hoped. Our trip coincided with the full Pink Moon rising on April 23rd, and the pictures I took were stunning.
The kitchen was a delightful surprise with every gizmo and gadget imaginable to “home cook” a meal, equipped with more than I could have expected. It even included items like an assortment of plastic bags (sandwich, quart, gallon), aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and more, ensuring we had everything we needed for our stay.
The location was a perfect hub for our adventures, with the nearby towns of Rockland, Rockport, and Camden just a stone's throw away. And for those who love the outdoors, there are numerous walking and hiking trails within very close driving proximity, some with fantastic ocean views and what would be considered picturesque Maine.
Upon entering the house, the helpful guidebook was immediately to the left on a table, and the details within were clear. I had some questions during the trip, and the host responded quickly.
Beyond the perfect location, this home has undeniable warmth and charm. My first VRBO experience exceeded expectations, and I would not hesitate to book a stay here again.

The house was absolutely amazing. The interiors were cozy and felt very much like a home. The view and surrounding area were gorgeous, with the woods to the front of the house and the ocean view to the back. The areas immediately around the house were also wonderful, with a quaint, quiet small town feel. 10/10 would absolutely stay here again

I rented the Starlight Deck House for my 80th Birthday week to spend time with family and the house did not disappoint. It was beautiful and well stocked with everything that anyone could want…when I rent I always bring kitchen items from home but did not need any of them. The house was very clean and even nicer than the pictures show. Even thought it was February we were able to sit outside on the balcony in the sun and in the evening enjoyed a cozy fire in the fireplace.
The only suggestion I would have is that in the winter time it would be nice to have some kind of mat to wipe feet and leave shoes as it was muddy outside and made the hall messy. Also we did enjoy the fireplace a couple of times but it did create a little smoke and smell even though the flue was open.

We had an amazing stay at the house in Tenants Harbor. Everything was so clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed evenings by the fireplace watching tv and being able to look out onto the harbor. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed for a week over the holiday for some relaxing from all the craziness at home during the holidays. The kitchen is very well equipped. We cooked our holiday dinner as well as dinner a few other nights. It’s not far to walk to the general store. Plus it’s close to visit Rockland and Camden. The host was also super responsive with any questions we had. It was a great place to visit.

This is such a special house. The view and location are beyond words in Tenants Harbor. Watching the lobster boats is fascinating. You are truly in the country but Rockland and other Midcoast Maine towns are easily accessible. The house is comfortable and well equipped. It’s a great kitchen to cook in. Luxurious bedding is great. This was our second stay in this house and it was hard to say goodbye when we left.
The management company is very responsive and happy to solve any small request. .

Veronika is an amazing property manager. We also have the honor of meeting the property owner Linda Bean this summer. She is lovely. Can't wait for next season.

Beautiful view and great location. Very clean and modern, light and bright. Very easy walking distance to Tenant's Harbor General Store and local pastry shop. Working dock nearby has some lighting on at night and early morning (very quiet) activity and some sawing nearby at a home under construction but mostly very quiet and peaceful. The road in front of the house only has very local point traffic and is very quiet. No road noise. House is immaculate and deck is awesome. Great place for coffee in the morning or BBQ at night. We were on a family reunion and part of our group rented another home within 2 miles. We hosted a meal for the larger group and the dining area and living room happily accommodated the big group. The location was perfect for us! We know this part of the Maine coast and went sailing, kayaking and hiking, and of course ate lots of local fresh lobster, clams and shrimp. The only dings: If you have a large group and are going to cook, you will work around a kitchen that is physically small with an electric stove that should be better equipped. There are a few minor suggestions for improvement which we will pass along to the host, but overall the best review I can give is that we would be happy to stay here again in the future!

Small Town Harbor/Oceanfront Perfection!
Phenomenal property to rent from start to finish. Beautiful views, kitchen stocked complete with top of the line brands (Henckels knives, all clad pots/pan, etc), amazing office space off of the deck for my wife to work remote (wifi was strong with zero issues). Very nice assortment of yard/board games for the family. absolutely zero complaints from our family. If there was one recommendation I would make, it would be to trim the trees near the master bedroom side of the deck to provide a better view of the harbor itself, but as it is the view is still quite good. 5 stars all the way, we would revisit without hesitation.

Relaxing stay in Tenants Harbor
Our group of 7 adults and dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tenants Harbor home. Beautiful harbor views were visible along the entire back of the house and deck. The house is well situated for walks along the quiet roads to the town, general store, bakery and a convenient short drive to mid coast attractions and Rockland. The house was very clean throughout and the bedding comfortable. The house has a very well equipped kitchen with updated appliances. We look forward to returning during our next trip to Maine.

Beautiful spot
Beautiful, quiet location. The house is well equipped and I wish I could have stayed longer! The view is amazing and my children enjoyed searching for crabs and sea glass at low tide. It was the perfect place to have a little “staycation”. Thanks again!

Gorgeous View
This is a wonderful home for multiple couples and family. 8 of us ate, drank and enjoyed Maine. We spent most of our time on the patio and livings room enjoying the view of the bay.

Terrific in Tenants Harbor
This is a very lovely property and well located. We appreciated the level of quality in the house and especially in bedding, kitchen appliances and accessories. From Henckel knives that were sharp to a choice of coffee makers, the house had a comfortable, well accessorized kitchen to prepare meals. The customer service of the management company was excellent and was very responsive to any request. We were touched when we asked for an American flag for the flagpole on the property, it was delivered and raised. That meant alot to us.

Classic Maine Vacation
We spent a completely enjoyable and relaxing week in MIdcoast Maine in Tennants Harbor. The weather was good with warm days and cool nights. We visited small fishing villages like nearby Port Clyde as well as the pleasant and larger town of Rockland, went to the beach for refreshing swims and to explore the tide pools, sailed kayaks in Port Clyde harbor and the St. George River, hiked in the woods, bought fresh produce at farmers markets and enjoyed our fill of lobster and clams. We had a very roomy place to stay with modern appliances and very comfortable beds. It had a large deck with a great view of Tennants harbor, and we enjoyed relaxing on the deck in the day as well as some leisurely dinners at night. All in all it was a comfortable, easy going week filled many of Maine's delights.

Perfect, peaceful, serene piece of heaven
Wonderful week with our adult son & his family. The house is beautifully set looking into harbor. Could have spent the week on the huge comfortable deck & done nothing else but watch the lobster boats & look out at the horizon. Outstanding house, with wall of sliding doors, very comfortable bedding & beautifully equipped kitchen. My first time to coastal Maine, charming general stores, fun & delicious local seafood eateries & the best historic lighthouses. Thank you Veronika! Would love to come back next year.

Beyond our expectations!
Loved the property! It was very classy. Top shelf, comfortable, roomy, totally equipped, and with exquisite views. We were also able to enjoy perfect sunsets and full moons. Loved the locals and the villages and eating establishments. We cannot check this off our to-do list because we now want to come back.

April getaway week
We had a relaxing week at the Starlight Deck House! Everything was just right: comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, spacious living area, and a lovely deck with grill, gas fireplace and stunning view! We have been visiting mid-coast Maine for many years but did not know the St. George/Tenants Harbor area well. The house is well-situated for excursions to hiking trails, different towns, and ocean adventures. It was perfect for us!

Lovely location but could do with a few extra basic amenities
The place is nice and the location lovely. However, very simple things should be included in this kind rental: soft bath towels, bedsheets without stains, more than 1 toilet paper roll in each bathroom (was also the cheapest kind you can get), and an umbrella for the deck.

Wonderful family time
We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the deck has a spectacular view on the ocean. We had everything we needed and Veronika was always quick to respond. We could access the water from the side lawn. A path was made to access the water during our stay which made it much easier to access the water. We were able to kayak from there though at low tide it gets a little slippery. We had a wonderful family time!

You will love it!!
Really enjoyed our stay. Stunning views of the harbor and so much activity to watch as the sailors, lobstermen, marine and bird life go about their day. Veronika was quickly responsive with any questions or needs we had. Its become a yearly stay for our family.

Wonderful spot, some inaccuracies
We had a lovely vacation here, and enjoyed the large windows, beautiful view, and deck overlooking the lobster dock. Most of the house was great (very clean throughout; new kitchen; nicely furnished; and gorgeous deck) and Veronika was quick to respond and check in on us. We also loved being able to walk to the local general store. However, there were a few things not in keeping with the listing—the beds in the two downstairs bedrooms are closer to double than queen-sized beds, and there is no water access from this house. The listing says there is steep access to the water, but there really isn’t (no path at all, just bushes & trees & a rocky drop-off). Additionally, the screen doors need to be repaired or replaced. We couldn’t keep the doors open for a cross breeze in the evening because of gaping holes in the screens. The house was too pricey all things considered, especially since all three bathrooms were very outdated (by a few decades).

Heavenly
We enjoyed the house location a great deal as it overlooked a working lobster dock. The deck has a spectacular view with shade provided most times of the day by trees.
Veronika was incredibly helpful. All in all it was a great place to vacation.

Great family vacation
Lovely home with a beautiful view and a great location for easy access to various area activities and lots of lobster. Plenty of room for our children and grandchildren inside and out. Would definitely return!

Great week away
The house was as beautiful as the pictures showed. We did run into issues with the screen doors - they kept coming off the tracks, which was a bit of a pain. We got to the point of avoiding certain doors.
We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful back deck - spent a great deal of time out there. The lawn was beautiful - we enjoyed playing corn hole and other yard games.
The kitchen was well equipped with a lot of items, though a few basics were missing. We couldn't find any grilling utensils and so went to Walmart to purchase a metal spatula, since the house only had plastic. Also purchased a can opener because we couldn't find one in the kitchen.
Had planned to make pancakes one morning but discovered there wasn't a frying pan. So we made muffins instead.
Overall everything was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay

Enjoyable Stay
The views and location are outstanding. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. The lobstermen in the area are wonderful and willing to talk about what they do and how their work is in their blood.

Beautiful view and deck overlooking the Harbor
Large, modern house with plenty of space for everyone. Four spacious bedrooms, beautiful open living room with a view of the harbor, cozy den with large tv, upscale kitchen with plenty of space for cooking, and lots of storage. Every bedroom has comfortable, clean, new bedding and large flat screen tv's. Outside deck has an outdoor firepit and a cozy seating area to watch the boats coming in and out and to enjoy the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

The Starlight deck house is a lovely home with a beautiful view!
My family and I had a great time at this lovely home in Tenants Harbor. The house is very clean and very comfortable. Everything is brand new, from the appliances to the bedding. There is plenty of room for everyone and the space is well organized. The quiet privacy upstairs is a plus for extended family. The large deck is a great place to relax and enjoy the waterfront view. This property is close to Rockland and Camden, yet on a quiet peninsula. I would definitely recommend it for a great Maine vacation.
