A Day in the Life at Sugar Beach

Start your morning with a barefoot stroll along the surf on Hawaii’s longest beach and feel the warm white sand between your toes. In the spring you will most likely see a humpback whale or two breaching offshore, and you’ll see Hawaiian sea turtles most anytime of the year. Finish your walk with a dip in the warm waters of Maalaea bay or swim in the heated saltwater pool at sugar beach resort. A soak in the hot tub might feel even better.

Enjoy breakfast while gazing at the ocean from your lanai or through the large window next to your dining table. The menu includes fresh apple bananas, papaya, and mangoes from the famous Kihei farmer’s market, just a short walk from your condo.

The day presents a palette of activities. Take a cruise out to watch whales jumping in the air or dolphins following your boat. Snorkel off Molokini island. Learn to surf. Go shopping in the old whaler town of Lahaina. Take a drive to the north shore, visit the retro-town of Paia and have lunch at the world-famous mama’s fish house. Or, if you’re really up for an experience, drive all the way to heavenly Hana and swim in the seven sacred pools. See the sunrise over the crater on Haleakala. Play one of Maui’s world class golf courses. Or what the heck, just kick back on the beach all day.

It is 6:00 pm and time for watching the sun set over the west Maui mountains which is conveniently viewed from your lanai. Kihei is a great place to stay. It is important to realize that in the summer months it is very windy everyday. I wasn't expecting that. However, that means it never gets too hot and the waves are great at local beaches, especially in the afternoons. We went boogie boarding almost every day. The condo was great. Beautiful views and easy access to pool, beach, and places to eat. Everyone there was nice. It was great that the condo came with beach towels, beach chairs, and a washer/dryer (key for a beach vaca). We rented a car and we were able to get parking everywhere we went. We love Maui and Kihei.

We stayed in this beautiful condo the last week of June, 2024. The weather was perfect and so was this condo. Beautiful views of the ocean from the lanai and the living room. The property where the condo is located is well maintained and beautiful. We would highly recommend this condo and will return for a future visit.

This condo was perfect! It had EVERYTHING we needed. Every kitchen appliance and utensil you can imagine. Everything was in great condition and not cheap stuff you sometimes find in rentals. Plenty of towels and beach towels, plenty of paper towels and toilet paper. Laundry soap, dish soap and even hand soap. You will feel right at home. The host is amazing and responded very quickly to any questions. We had zero issues at this rental and highly recommend it. If you are debating between rentals and this one is a little bit more in price, I promise it is worth it!!! Would definitely stay here again!

Very clean. Everything we needed including chairs for the beach. Convenient location to many things. Pool and hot tub were nice. We couldn't use the beach because of so much wave action but it was nice to siton the loungers provided to read or watch the sunset.

Beautiful co do, it was so well equipped with any and everything we needed!!! We stayed for a week and did t want to leave!!! The bed was wonderful, location was great. Fantastic host and Myra the manager was incredible!!! Would highly recommend this property

We had a great time in April's place on Sugar Beach. The unit was great and a perfect place to watch the sunset. Miles of beach to walk. We enjoyed cooking at home most nights. The facilities at the resort are clean and well maintained. Thanks April for your responsiveness!

The pictures and description on VRBO were spot on. Great views, clean, easy access, beachfront, and all the amenities we needed or forgot. Two restaurants that April recommended became our dinners of choice for a week! Thank you for the perfect vacation week. (Except that we had to leave ☹️)

Property was very clean and a great location. Bathroom sink needs some attention as it is partially blocked. Would like property owner to email me regarding my damage deposit refund. Specifically the credit card I originally paid for this rental was recently compromised and has been replaced. Hence to refund any monies to the original credit card would not be received. I can sum up my stay in one word.... PERFECT! Location, condo, view, amenities, check-in, check-out. Everything was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maui. The condo was well equipped and updated. The host, always replied in a timely manner about questions. We stayed here 9/2023. The weather was perfect for swimming, hiking, walking the beach. Whatever we had plans for.

The condo is in a great location, just steps to the beach. The complex is very clean and well taken care of. Our particular unit was well stocked with beach equipment, so we didn’t have to rent anything. The kitchen had everything we needed to fill our basic needs. Will definitely stay here again!

The listing and room both were great ,but the reason I didn't give it a 5 was because the sofa bed is in desperate need of a new mattress. We had to place some yoga mats to try to cushion it a bit and that was still not enough

Perfect windows to Paradise! We thoroughly enjoyed this condo and the Sugar Beach Resort it is a part of. Nightly soaks in the hot tub and leisurely relaxing on the lanai were as good as it gets. Centrally located to access Lahaina, Kaanapali, Wailea, Road to Hana, Iao Needle and Haleakalā sunrise!

Awesome condo and complex. Great amenities and comforts of home. Bed was comfy and linens nice. View and balcony are extra special. Highly recommend!! Kihei is a perfect central location for many Maui activities and easy access to the airport and major roads. Kihei is also a cute cute beach town and vibe. Would come back again and again. We stayed for a week at this condo. The condo and surroundings were clean. Kitchen was equipped with cooking utensils. It’s a short drive to Safeway grocery store, farmers market, gas station and restaurants. The lanai looking over the ocean is beautiful.

We really enjoyed the property. Quiet building. Great location centrally located so it’s an easy drive to anywhere on the island. We are already making plans for next year. We will try to get the same condo. Friends we traveled with have stayed here multiple times and report all condos are very nice. Two thumbs up!

We don’t care for high rise buildings when in Hawaii, but wanted to be close to our son’s wedding venue. Outside appearance of buildings looked dated and sad, but our condo was beautiful and well appointed!

Much appreciation to April for juggling our booking through the Covid shutdowns - thank you! We were looking for a place outside the busyness/noise of the Kihei strip and this is exactly that, situated at the north of Kihei Rd. Very clean, well equipped condo with a great balcony sunset view. The resort has a pool, chairs and a beach, not a 5 star Maui beach but good enough if you don't feel like packing up and driving to somewhere like Makena, etc. Would stay here again.

My family absolutely loved this place. Yes it’s a little dated but the location is perfect! The place was clean and simple. Had everything you can possibly need for the beach. Ice chest, umbrella, beach chairs, snorkel gear, towels, etc…. Everything you need is in driving distance. Target, Walmart, beaches. And the view!!!! Omg! Right in front of the water. You can hear the waves at night. I will come back and stay here again!

The condo is exactly as described, if not better. The check in was easy and I appreciated that the owner made check out as easy as possible with no cleaning...because why? We are on vacation after all! She was very thoughtful in providing boogie boards. snorkeling gear (we rented our own from downstairs), beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler. Even the kitchen was stocked with supplies that no one wants to have to shop for ~ coffee filters, foil, storage bags, extra sponges and even laundry detergent. Place was sparkling clean, the bed was comfy and communication was easy. I appreciate ease of booking from start to finish and have found my go to place to stay for Maui. I am looking forward to staying at April's place for many years to come. If you are looking to book here ~ I say do it! Mahalo :)
