Not every day you have longhorn cattle as your neighbors for a overnight stay. Great place to stay to experience rural Texas but with all the mod cons. Great bath. Highly recommend

Beautiful property, peaceful and quiet. The cottage was very comfortable and lovely. Joan greeted and showed me where everything was in the cottage. She was warm and friendly and I really enjoyed visiting with her. I would definitely love to stay there again.

Cute little cottage in country setting with nice views, decorated well! Slept with the windows open and slept really well, very tranquil. We will come back.

I stayed two nights and loved it. The property is gorgeous, and the cottage is charming and comfy. It was a very relaxing experience overall. Joan was warm and welcoming and readily available if needed. I liked that the property was close to the Hill Country State Natural Area, which was the purpose for my visit. I left my stay feeling recharged - I was a little sad to leave. I would definitely stay here again.

If you want to rest this is the place to go. It is beautiful, peaceful, and just far enough away from civilization to be able to think but close enough to go enjoy it also. Wonderful accommodations. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable. Cute decor. Nice to have breakfast items (cereal, yogurt, muffins, juices) and a coffee maker. Located on a beautiful and peaceful ranch.

I give 4.5 rating on Sophie's Cottage. We knew going in that the cottage was small and cozy. It was very cute and charming and had everything we needed. My husband was disappointed that he had to take a tub bath and not a shower. To make this a 5 star rating here is what I would improve upon:
1. Trim the hedges and shrubs near door of cottage. The rose bush was creeping in with thorns! The outdoor furniture was not as in picture and not usable! The cushions could be replaced and one chair did not have a place to sit on. The coffee was stale and old and the condiments was hardened. {Glad that I brought my own] The information said water would be supplied in the mini refrigerator. We had plenty of juices but no water. There needs to be a softer cushion in the one chair that my husband used. He was not comfortable in it. With those changes, It would definitely be a 5 star.

My husband and I had a wonderful time. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the seclusion. The night sky was absolutely breathtaking. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Great place to reset and rewind. The stars at night, are big and bright.

This is a tiny cottage on a piece of property nestled in the hills. Is is a lovely drive out, very rural.
The cottage is a tiny place, but the price is right. If you are a fan of the Hilton this might be a shock but it is clean, nice linens and just what you need (except for a microwave or tea kettle). Very much what you might find in Normandy France.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay immensely. We loved being out away from the business of the city and the beautiful starry sky. The host was a sweetheart and chatted with us about the property and animals. We were able to disconnect from our cell phones and just enjoy each other. 5 stars!

Wonderful and peaceful.
We enjoyed the stars, animals, peace and quiet. The bed was cozy and ac kept us cool! Breakfast and treats left for us were very sweet. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I would have liked a better separation from bedroom to the restroom but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Rejuvenated.
First of all our Host was amazing. She welcomed my husband and I straight away with warmth and hospitality after our crazy drive. She asked us to just let her know if there was anything that we may need to please feel free to walk over. My husband and I both have worked in the hospitality industry for years so we can see when someone genuinely cares. When we give someone five stars if means that they went over and beyond to make our stay as comfortable, stress free and peaceful as possible. We loved how we had a sense of warmth, comfort and security. I can't stress how much we needed this experience of healing comfort. Thank you so much for having us! 💕🌻

Hill Country Hideaway
Rustic cottage setting surrounded by longhorns and hills. Clean and comfortable and just a short drive to Bandera, Texas. We ate at wonderful restaurants in town each day and visited Lost Maples State Park, Hill Country SNA, Government Canyon SNA, soaked our feet in the Medina River and rode the backroads all thru the hill country. Bring a folding chair and a cooler to sit in the back yard as the awesome and gentle resident longhorns will come and sit with you just on the other side of the fence!

Quiet country cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sophie’s Cottage. The cottage was cozy, cute and clean. Joan , our hostess was friendly and informative. We loved her sweet horse , Sky. It was awesome to actually see her call her long horns and have them wander up close to the fence. It was all around a great getaway. Thanks!

It was rustic and cute very very small and there is no shower or microwave. Also there is no door to the bathroom.

Neat little cottage for a weekend getaway
The location is beautiful!! At night, the stars were amazing. Be sure to check it out. The cottage was very cute and clean. The bathtub was a nice treat.
The property needs a little TLC. It could use some work in the yard and flower beds and tree trimming where you park. Be careful when you drive onto the property. The gravel road is very rough.
Overall, we had a great experience and the location was beautiful.

Country overnight with longhorn cattle and horse for neighbors.
This property has lovely views of the distant hills. Country-cottage style building was comfortable with a sweet porch for evening and morning sitting.

Quaint and Cozy
Just the getaway we needed for our tenth anniversary. We enjoyed the scenery and the animals. Stargazing was stunning with no city lights. Cottage was great, and we loved the claw foot tub. We would love to spend longer there

Serenity with a vista
I cannot recommend this property enough. I spent a night here with my partner during a cross country move. I was born and raised in central Texas and this couldn't have felt more like home. The cottage itself was beautiful, quaint and had everything we needed, but the real prize was the property. The views were stunning and it was lovely waking up to chicken, cattle and horses along the fence line. If you are looking for the perfect Hill Country getaway--this is it.

It was so nice and quiet without my 4 kids lol. They provided a small breakfast and drinks in the room. Very rustic and beautiful setting in the hill country.

Perfect little cottage.
This was a perfect location for my wife and I for a weekend get away. Even though there are other accommodations on the property, we felt we had privacy. We wanted to stay in Fredricksburg but there were no places available. Staying here turned out to be a true blessing as the drive from Bandara to Fredricksburg was a beautiful drive through the hill country and allowed us to spend some time in Kerrville on our way to Fredricksburg. The owners were available but not intrusive. They were a very nice couple and their place was just what we were looking for.

Quaint but small, small fold out table trying to make sandwiches. Host did leave plenty of juice, milk, cereal and snacks.

Sophies Cottage
As a writer who traveled with an artist, I have nothing but admiration for the cottage. The owner was completely pleasant, overall a wonderful woman who spoke with us and made sure we were safe. The property was absolutely magnificent, the cows and the chickens wake you up but it’s a beautiful sound. I hope to visit again and revisit the inspiration I was hit with upon arrival to the cottage.
