Located within easy walking distance to town of Southwest Harbor and an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia park.
Zane had good communication with us.

Our family had a wonderful time visiting Maine, specifically Acadia NP and Bar Harbor areas. This house is easy-to-get-to, but away from the crowds of the park and Bar Harbor, but we were able to access both with ease. Zane, our host recommended several beautiful hikes near the house that we very much enjoyed. The house was clean with plenty of beds, showers, seats (couches and table) to meet our needs. We will return!

This house was very convenient to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. It had plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 3 kids. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of seating. Our grandkids loved the games! The arrangement of the bedrooms with a separate entrance from outside on the back deck for the two bedrooms over the garage was unusual. Good to know for those families with many young children. I would highly recommend you bring earplugs as the traffic on Main Street was loud at night. With the A/C window units (which we were thankful for), the windows couldn't be completely closed to help lessen the road noise. The first floor doesn't have A/C but there are fans which helped with our July visit. Zane was super responsive when things needed attention. He gave us restaurant recommendations which were great!

Zane helped us immensely for local information and he was available always. Great house for multiple young families with main house and apt above garage. It was helpful to have window ac units in all bedrooms since it was a little warm during our week. Walking distance to downtown with ice cream shops and coffee houses. Because the house is on the road-there is a lot of car noise at night but always felt safe.

Absolutely perfect location in Southwest Harbor. Everything was great from check-in to check-out. Zane is super responsive, answering all questions/needs. The house is exactly as described and pictured, definitely recommend for any groups or families staying in the area!

Property was perfect for multi generation group. There was plenty of space for privacy, but communal areas fit everyone. It was right on main road leading into Southwest Harbor about 20 min from Bar Harbor and 25 into Acadia depending where you are headed. It was really nice to be away from Bar Harbor crowds and being close to Echo Lake (5 min) was perfect for our toddlers and the grandparents. Highly recommend and Zane was attentive throughout stay.

Very clean, spacious, wonderful location. We were a group of 11. Would recommend.

First, the area is very beautiful. We thought the house was a little further off the road, but it was a little too close. Road traffic was heard in the house. The house was clean, but it does show somewhere in tear. The kitchen was well stocked with needed items. The week we stayed. The weather was warmer than normal. The owner installed window air conditioners to help with the heat. He was very responsive to any requests that we had. The outdoor decks are very nice. The yard and landscaping along with the fire pit could use, a little more attention as far as the vacation goes. We had a wonderful time and a really good experience.

We had a wonderful stay in Southwest Harbor! This location was close to everything! The house met all of our needs for a group of 14 - great location, clean, lots of room and a perfect outdoor area for all of us. Zane was a wonderfil host - he communicated timely and answered all of our questions. We loved our stay and all the memories we made in Maine!!

The house was a good fit for our group of 5 children and 8 adults. You can walk easily into the village of Southwest Harbor on sidewalks. The drive to Bar Harbor and the main park entrance is about 30 minutes.

The house works very well for a group. Kitchen has what you need , the living room has comfortable seating for 8 , and the dining area can easily double as a room for games. There are steps involved for both the sleeping areas (main house and apartment ) in case that is of concern. Zane was very responsive to all our questions . A great week.

We had a terrific visit! The place was plenty comfortable for our group of 11 adults and 2 elementary school kids. The two adults who could only stay for 3 nights slept on the sofa bed, and the kids slept on the Murphy bed in the apartment for the week. All other adults had their own bedrooms. Those of us who stayed in the apartment loved the privacy of the apartment unit—and having our own kitchen. And both kitchens were well equipped, so the avid chefs in the group we were able to cook dinners easily. Finally: Zane did a great job responding to our questions and welcoming us to the property. Thanks for a terrific week!

Spacious and accommodating house that was great for our large party of 9 (4 adults, 5 kids). House was well stocked with all of the kitchen supplies you could hope for. Backyard was great for grilling and campfires (host left ample firewood for our stay). Check in/check out was incredibly easy. Great stay on the quiet side of MDI. Would stay again and recommend to anyone looking to visit Maine.

Our party of 9 was so happy with this house! Perfectly located on Main street in southwest harbor, made it easy to access not only Bar Harbor and Acadia NP, but also downtown SW harbor plus the other small towns on the island. Zane was super easy to communicate with and checking in/out was a breeze! Would definitely stay here again if we choose to return to MDI for a future vacation!

Great house on Quiet Side of Acadia - for large family
Great house, host was very communicative. Only 5 bedrooms so extra guests had to sleep on Murphy bed and pull out sofa. Which normally would have been ok but we had a hot week and those rooms were hot at night! Otherwise great house and location.

Clean, convenient, spacious! Great landlord.

Convenient and Spacious!
The house was spacious yet felt connected. All of the beds were super comfy and clean, we loved lots of great spaces inside and out for big our big family to relax and enjoy being together. Kids loved yard for playing catch and ring toss, adults watched from deck. Close enough to walk into town and proximity to trailheads was great. Only downside was noise and speed of traffic on road - house is on one of the main roads into SW harbor amd quite close to street. If you have young children the property is not fenced, so just be aware you’ll need to keep a close eye on toddlers when they are outdoors. Zane super responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely spot
The property is spacious and comfortable and Zane had good suggestions for things to do that we would not have discovered without his advice.

Great place to stay in SW Harbor
Zane's home was a lovely stay for our family during a few nights in Southwest Harbor. It's spacious, clean and comfortable. Zane was also a very helpful and communicative host, and was quick to help us on small minor issues we experienced. I would absolutely stay here again.

What a wonderful time!
We had 14 family members ranging from 5 to 71 all staying together. It was such a wonderful house for all. Zane was an exceptional host. He checked on us from time to time to make sure everything was good but was never intrusive. He was very helpful and kind. There were games, books and travel info in the house for all ages. Acadia Park was close and you could walk to SW Harbor ! The house itself slept everyone comfortably. The kitchen was well-stocked. I can’t say enough about it! We will certainly return soon!

Great house for groups!
We had a great stay at Zane's house. It offered our group of 6 tons of space, multiple bathrooms, and a large living room and kitchen for hanging out and cooking. The location was good, with an easy, short walk into Southwest Harbor, great hiking nearby, and driving everywhere else we wanted to go was easy. Zane was an excellent host. He offered up tips throughout the week on really good hikes, and he came through with a last minute ride too and from Bar Harbor when all of the local taxi services were booked or not running. We were super grateful.
My only complaints would be that the street it was on was a bit busy, so the traffic noise was sometimes noticeable if that is something that bothers you. And the master bedroom could use a curtain or blinds on the door out to the balcony. If you need complete darkness to sleep, bring an eye mask. But, overall we had a really fun stay and would recommend Zane's wonderful home.

All worked out well.

Well stocked house
We had a great vacation in Acadia and enjoyed both Acadia and Bar Harbor. The small town of SW Harbor was great with a couple of good restaurants. The house was well stocked. The house is located on Main street so there are constantly cars traveling out front. Thanks for a good time...

Short stay
Good location. Plenty of space. Not too clean. No AC and no screens in windows so got hot at night.

A great house for a crowd that prefers SW Harbor over Bar Harbour
Zane, was just very helpful and accommodating.

Great Location
This is a great place - Zane was very easy to work with and quick to respond to any questions. The area is so much less congested than the other side of Bar Harbor - great restaurants and good hikes. My only constructive feedback is that the house could have been a little cleaner and there were a lot of red ants in the yard so you couldn’t stay out at a fire for too long. Both of those could easily be remedied. Thanks Zane

Downeast Fun
Great location in Southwest Harbor. House is very comfortable with large seating areas and plenty of space to hang out. Located 30 mins from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Close to great food within minutes in either direction. Zane was very thoughtful, notified us when he needed to access the yard and checked-in to make sure everything was OK. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you Zane.

Memorable Family Trip
My husband and I brought our 14 year old niece and 16 year old nephew to Acadia for 5 nights. There were two other family members who were a "definite maybe" but had to bail on the trip so we didn't have need for the garage apartment. My husband and I don't have kids and we are accustomed to quiet, privacy, and LOTS of elbow room. Zane's house was perfect for us! We made several meals together in the well stocked kitchen, played a fun game at the dining room table, went on an awesome kayak tour with Maine State Kayak (which is only a 2 minute walk from the house), and we hiked in the park every day. The house was close enough to everything but also away from the hustle and bustle which was ideal for us. Zane is an outstanding host and we couldn't have asked for better communication. Thanks so much Zane!

There was a total of 10 of us for this stay (4 adults and 6 kids). The set up was great for our group. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with 2 pull out couches downstairs in the living room. In addition, there is a separate apartment over the garage with 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath and additional murphy bed in the living room. Needless to say, that we had plenty of room! The kitchen in the main house was spacious and well stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc.The location of the house was also excellent! You are only about 15 minutes from the main entrance to Acadia, many restaurants and a grocery store are within a mile or two. This place is not cheap, but well worth it for the size and location. We would definitely stay again!!

Excellent Quiet Side Home away from Home
We had a great stay on the “Quiet Side” at this property! Everything we needed and more. Zane was an excellent host and was always available for communication and helpful with everything. If you happen to be there on a week with clear skies, please please take the time to check out the stars overnight!

Great stay in Southwest Harbor
A group of 8 of us (all adults + 1 dog) stayed at Zane’s property in Southwest Harbor and we absolutely loved it! Would have stayed longer if we could. Great location, very clean, and Zane was very communicative the whole time we were there. Highly recommend for big groups traveling to Acadia area or Bar Harbor (both are about a 30 minute drive from the house)

Perfect place to unwind after a day of activity
My family and I had a great stay at the house. It was just what we needed and gave us a wonderful place to relax after our activities of the day. I went the hotel route my last stay, and am so glad we found this house for the family stay. We found the drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor to be easier than we first expected and know that we’d rent the same place for any future stays. Zane was a wonderful host, quick to answer questions and gave us some tips on places to check out.

Terrific Stay
We had a terrific stay at this beautiful home. It is in a great location for walking into town as well as getting around easily to Acadia, Bar Harbor and all around MDI. The house was exactly as pictured and described and was the perfect place for a family vacation. Zane is a fantastic and responsive host who not only answered any questions we had but also shared some great advice for a local hidden gem to visit.

Nice house, convenient location
This house is super well located for a trip to Acadia National Park. The house was clean, and had everything we needed. There was a lot of space and it worked very well for our family. Zane was very kind when we arrived, and was concerned about whether we would be warm enough since the weather had recently turned cold; he went out of his way to add warm duvets to the beds.
