Great stay. House was clean and perfect for our large group.

I rented the house and was Embarrassed once friends and i arrived. We were on vacation and I did not want to start off having to complain and wait around for someone to show up to explain problem. Remember check in was 4pm it is now after 5:30pm before we are able to move our things into the house. We were hungry and in total shock of what just took place.
Cleaning was not good. We arrived early 3pm. Place was a wreck. We spoke with One gentleman cleaning. He explained the Owners were using their friends to clean but he was contacted to clean this time. Top Floor of House looked like someone had been doing sheet-rock work? It was a complete MESS. We left and told guy cleaning we would be back as we did not want to get in his way. We returned at 4:30pm Place was still a MESS. Poor guy was over matched with the complete mess of the house. We asked why he did not have more help and he said he was the one contracted to clean? We actually started helping him clean the upstairs main floor as it is 5:30pm now. Check In was supposed to be at 4pm. We helped clean Floor several times to finally get most of dust/sheet-rock dust up. House needs a crew to clean properly. Window seals and nasty, windows are dirty and not clear to look out. Baseboards are nasty, cobwebs in every corner, furniture and pillows still have layer of dust/sheet-rock on them. Baseboards have a couple layers of dust on them anything that can collect dust has it on it. Please go take a look at the house. Give me a call to discuss.

This house is great for a big group of adults. It’s really well laid out and has king beds and bathrooms for each bedroom. It’s well located and easy drive to Blowing Rock for shopping and food. The only negative to this property is that there are very limited essentials provided so be sure to bring your own TP, trash bags and paper towels. This was a little annoying to me when we paid a good bit of money for the weekend but had half a roll of TP in each bathroom on arrival.

Hi! This is our 2nd year staying at Stone Ridge Lodge for Winterfest weekend. We love the optimal location and easy access to everything! We like this house with all king beds because our group is 5 couples and it works out perfectly. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the house this time…bathrooms and bedrooms seemed clean enough; common areas ok but dust seemed to be quite noticeable; kitchen was poor…stove didn’t look like it had been touched! Splatter of food or sauces all on stove grates and even splattered up onto microwave. Drip marks from something down one side of fridge. Lots of noticeable dust in main great room and dirt on fireplace hearth. For the amount of money being paid, we were unhappy with the cleaning job that had been done prior to arrival. On another note, kitchen could use more than only one dish drying cloth for the the entirety of stay. Kitchen knives could use sharpening or a new set…they are very dull. More than one towel and one wash cloth per person would have been extra nice. We absolutely love the view and still enjoyed our stay. We come up every year for Winterfest!

The property had some magical views of the mountains and they seem to come to life with the changing fall colors. To watch the sun setting over them was absolutley stunning. Very comfortable stay/kitchen was well stocked with utensils/plenty of linen/thoroughly enjoyed the shuffle board and the hikes around the property. Would highly recommend this property - created some wonderful memories for our group

Overall, this house had lots of space for a large group. We had 10 adults - and everyone was really comfortable. We really enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck - and having the garage to put our motorcycles after a long day of riding. Most rooms had newer furniture - and everyone slept well. The kitchen and living room could have used a little TLC - spots on living room wall that needed to be painted from furniture being up against them. But it didn't affect our stay. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed staying here.

We were very pleased with the property even though it was a bit difficult to get to, unpaved roads. The views off the back decks were spectacular. The air conditioning on the middle floor was so cold that teeth were chattering and we could not figure out how to turn it down. The main floor was comfortable. There were however cobwebs hanging from the kitchen ceiling . One of the showers downstairs was so small that our friends who had that bathroom opted to share the shower off one or the other bedrooms . The kitchen was lovely with a huge table that seated all ten of us. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay and thought the house had lovely furnishings and was mostly comfortable.

Superb View!
The view from the deck is amazing! The house is spacious and comfortable. If you intend to cook, bring your own pans because the ones provided are far past their prime. The cooking utensils could also use an upgrade for this luxury property. The beds are very comfortable and the showers are fabulous. I couldn’t give five stars because there were cobwebs, many missing pillowcases and only one towel per person. This being said, we would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time. We had a few issues. There was no snow shovel. I spoke with the office and was told clients take them with them. He never offered to bring one out. We received 6 inches of snow our last night there. The garbage disposal went out also. We were told to reset everything, which we tried and didn't work. We just discontinued use of it. The towels all smelled of cigarettes. No one smoked at all in our party. Also we never found the fire pit that we paid extra for wood. It was a beautiful house with the best views we have ever had. This was our 3rd house rental in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. But I was a bit disappointed in Carolina Cabin Rentals.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the lodge and its facilities. Everything was clean and properly prepared for our visit. The two concerns that were voiced centered on the TVs located outside of the main den and some linens. No one could get those TVs to login to the network. At least one pillow case was worn out, with multiple holes in it, and needing replacing prior to our stay. It would be nice to have had a few more kitchen towels. Overall, it's a very nice place with great accommodations and views. We would recommend the Lodge to others and return ourselves.

Stone Ridge Lodge review
We had a wonderful experience at the Stone Ridge Lodge. The house was immaculate and perfect for three families. There was plenty of space for adults and children to gather and have fun. It was also perfect for all of us to get together in one area and play games each evening. While enjoying the views and hot tub we starting planning our next stay in the Spring/Summer.

We enjoyed staying at Stoneridge lodge. We had 4 couples, 1 couple backed out last minute but we would have had plenty of room for them. Everyone had a nice room with a bathroom to use exclusively. We loved morning coffee on the back porch, watching football in the living room and cooking in the well stocked kitchen. It's a beautiful property and the location is very convenient. The girls enjoyed the hot tub at night while the guys watched football and played shuffle board in the game room. We had an absolute blast. We would definitely come back to this house again. Even if you were planning a trip with kids this house would be well equip. We loved our time here.

My family with all the kids and grandkids rented Stone Lodge. The house was gorgeous and the view was probably one of the most stunning I have seen. I appreciated the separation from neighbors to enjoy our mountain retreat. Stone Ridge comfortably fit all 13 of us including a toddler and infant. The house has everything you really need and the starter pack was more than adequate for our stay. The only things we used of our own was Clorox wipes and trash bags. Not listed in the amenities are the coffee hair dryers, and toaster. Listed in the amenities, but not in the lodge is a fooseball table. Not an issue for us, as it's clearly not pictured. Prior to arrival, we received several emails with great information from Carolina Cabins. We were able to get our questions answered quickly and and even apply a military discount after the reservation. Upon arrival, we identified some issues within the home. The issues are the reason behind 4 stars vice 5. Carolina Cabin responded quickly and was able to rectify most of the concerns. The staff, particularly Derik and Felicite, were extremely polite and helpful. I look forward to booking through Carolina Cabins again.

5-Star Potential
Magnificent views! This Home was in very good condition and well-appointed. Beds and furniture were comfortable. Very quiet location. Reasonably close to most points of interest. Easy to find. Our several navigational systems were accurate in getting us to the property, although we didn't need them with the excellent directions that were provided. Rental company was very prompt in fixing the light and overhead fan in one of the bedrooms. The wall switch was not working and was replaced.
Areas for improvement: 1) Floors were dirty and obviously weren't cleaned properly since the last guests; 2) Windows were also dirty; 3) Sheets had not been changed since the last guests (e.g. hair on sheets and pillows and sheets simply looked as if they had not been changed); 4) rental company could have prevented all of these issues by inspecting the property for functionality and cleanliness and correcting the problem issues prior to our arrival.

Great Family House
Beautiful views, convenient location, and perfect layout. Each bedroom had a king bed with attached bath. The views from the three decks are incredible! The circular drive for bicycles and rock formations for climbing kept the kids busy. The tucked away fire pit and picnic tables were perfect for night time campfires. Kitchen was well supplied and the large open spaces made socializing easy. Three families were very comfortable in the house. Hope to return soon!

Perfect getaway!
We had a large group of several families and this house was perfect! Each room had comfortable king mattresses with the best pillows, the porches had gorgeous views of Grandfather Mountain, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and serve meals and the two living rooms and a game room gave us room to spread out! You will not regret booking this home!

Very clean and well-appointed!
We had a fantastic week at Stone Ridge. The house was very clean and comfortable, with linens, towels, soaps, and shampoos in all five bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with good quality cookware and knives (but no cheese grater!). Even with bad weather, the views and light were great. Our only minor complaint is that the wi-fi in the top floor bedroom closest to the kitchen was pretty spotty. Good location - 15 minutes to Boone, Blowing Rock, and ton of great hikes at Price, Cone, and further down the Blue Ridge. We'd go back.

The home was beautiful especially the wood work on the banister and throughout the home. We had a bit of trouble with the bedroom TVs but that did not stop our fun. The views were spectacular. We had a ball.
