The location of this house cannot be beat if you want to explore Glen Arbor. However, we have been staying in Glen Arbor for 16 straight summers, and this was my least favotire rental that we have had. We had several plumbing issues in upstairs bathrooms, the furnishings badly needed updating, master bedroom mattress was super uncomfortable, and we had barely enough towels and linens for everyone with no option to obtain more. Kitchen cookware was not in line with expectations for a $4k/week rental. There was a random toilet in the basement by the laundry area that had not been cleaned in a LONG time. Previous guests' hair in bathroom vanity drawers. Gross.
The owner did reply when we reached out with concerns, but he was defensive and many of the issues were frankly not a quick fix. To summarize, stay here if you cannot find a better spot last minute (that's the boat we found ourselves in) but don't expect much aside from a 5-star, prime time location.

We travel to Glen Arbor every year. We love the city and have children of varied ages. The location near the excellent park was great for us.
The house was great. It had all the things you would expect it to have. It was clean and it great shape. The host was very good to deal with along with leaving a personal phone number for us if we had issues which i thought was nice. We didnt have any problems though.
We would definitely stay there again if the opportunity is available.!!

The house was perfect to accommodate the family. Very roomy and a lot of privacy on the property. Very well appointed and had everything we needed.
Will definitely look at this property again!

Very clean and conveniently located property. So much space on the main floor and two big tables for eating - and playing games !

Wonderful and beautiful property! Very spacious for families!

The house was perfect for our family to gather and spend time together yet have space to spread out. It was only a short walk to downtown Glen Arbor and a community park. We enjoyed our time there! The outdoor shower and fire pit were both a huge hit! As well as the many squirrels!!

Great location and setting. Very spacious and within walking distance of everything!

Wonderful Walk About Woods!
This property is PERFECT for an extended family. With 4 decent-sized bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms, everyone is taken care of. It has plenty of additional living areas, so families can be as together or apart as they'd like. The deck is wonderful, with a picnic table and some lounge chairs. We spent a few nights outside with the firepit, and even saw a doe with fawns in the yard, and bats later at night. The location is AMAZING! It's close to a new playground, walking distance to Anderson's Market for groceries, Cherry Republic, Crystal River Outfitters, and all that Glen Arbor has to offer. It's right between Big Glen Lake and Lake Michigan. My hesitation with writing a good review is that we'll be competing with more people the next time we want to rent this wonderful house!

Ideal location with lots of space
Greatly enjoyed our stay in this 4 bed 3 bath home. Short easy walk to downtown, Lake Michigan, and Glen Lake from the property. Everything was as expected with the exception of some poor cleaning in one of the bathrooms and the ceiling fans in a couple of bedrooms, but the landlord was quick to respond and help us remedy the issue. Plenty of space to hang out with two living rooms, a dining room, a screened in porch, a back deck, a front porch, and a fire pit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to sleep 6-10 comfortably.

not sure what to say here
It was fine. Minimal furnishings-its a rental. Not particularly clean- its a rental. Finally, the property is listed as 4 bed 3.5 bath. One of the showers is outdoors and the final toilet is in the middle of the the unfinished basement. Thank God it was in Glen Arbor where there is no need to spend much time inside. There was biking (brought our own) and hiking and kayaking (rented) and walking to coffee. We love the area!

Ideal location in a nice home.

Perfect location.
The pictures do not do this property justice. We got married at Sleeping Bear Dunes in a very small ceremony and stayed at this property. It was a great experience and I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.

Charming, roomy home with great indoor and outdoor spaces! Loved the location close to Cherry Republic that allowed us to walk into the heart of Glen Arbor. After touring Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas and visiting wineries and Sleeping Bear Dunes, it was always a treat to come back to this home away from home. Thank you for letting us pretend it was ours for the week!

The place to stay in Glen Arbor
I really can't say enough about this place. Just a beautiful location and perfect house for 8-10 people. There is so much to do within walking distance and even more within a short drive. A wonderful retreat for our family. Thanks for the great place to stay.

As a former owner in South Beach since 1988, subsequently the president and property manager of 72 units for 8 years and keenly aware of the historical growth of Glen Arbor, its services and sources, I feel I am thoroughly qualified to make fair judgment of the services rendered and the resulting experience. Disappointed, of course, disgusted, absolutely. The list of things wrong, promised but not delivered did not have to be. I have pictures and emails along with contemporary notes of phone calls and face to face discussions regarding "deliverables" !!!
The responsibility was basic, fundamental and easy...excuses didn't apply...5 stars I was told...the facts, pictures tell an indisputable story of non performance/misrepresentation.
A lot of money for the poor conditions existing.
What was represented by all should have been confirmed with a first hand process...not just fuzzy words.

I could express a full range of terms, none of which would be complimentary.

This was our first trip to Glen Arbor and we could not have loved the location of this home anymore. Easy walk to Lake Michigan, Glen Lake, grocery, shops, restaurants, awesome park, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Heritage Bike Trail. Wow!!!
The house had tons of space and was well stocked. A few things to note that could make this great house- awesome.
The Master bed (as mentioned in several other reviews) is uncomfortable and so very squeaky. After the first night, my husband and I had to sleep in separate rooms because every time someone would move or roll over, the bed squeaks and wakes up the other person. The mattress is so soft that you roll to the middle.
The house sleeps 10 people, but there really isn’t a comfortable space for even 5 people to hang out at length… we had several rainy nights and wanted to watch a movie… the den with DVD player had awkward seating for only 4 people?!? We played many a card game at the dining table instead.
Lastly, while the house was overall clean, the showers could really benefit from some extra attention. Especially the mold in the bottom of the master shower doors.
Having said those few improvements that could be made, Cameron was kind and helpful and check in and check out was seamless! We really appreciate you sharing your home with us!

Close to the beach, which was really clean, but had some rocks along the shoreline, so bring water shoes. The house was well stocked and clean. We had 4 adults and 5 kids and there was plenty of common area space. Outdoor shower and mud room were great to keep the house relatively free of sand. Host promptly responded to inquiries. The neighborhood is adorable; lots of local restaurants, wine tasting, ice cream, and boutique shops within walking distance. There was a kids’ playground that was convenient. Some of the guests thought the pillows and beds were a little uncomfortable, but of course, that is always subjective. Everyone enjoyed their stay overall.

Cool weather in mid-Sept
We really liked the property. Great location. Quiet. Very nice four bedroom house worked wonderfully for us. Loved the back screened-in porch.

Very spacious and well located in Glen Arbor. The back door and breezeway entrance was so dirty that we had to clean it ourselves before entering. Kitchen & baths did not seem "Covid clean" but Clorox wipes were left for our use and we used them all! There is not a single serving dish/platter so if you're cooking in, which we did because of the crazy Covid restrictions at restaurants you will need to bring your own.

An absolute oasis
Beautifully furnished, well maintained home with everything you could possibly need for a time out. The location was perfect... just far enough away that you see only a handful of people, but close enough to mingle when the mood arises. Property owners were very responsive prior to our arrival and everything was as promised. Thank you, thank you.

Wonderful Family Vacation
Walkabout Woods was the perfect house for our family vacation. The home is located in a quite neighborhood a block from downtown and a wonderful park. We found the property to have spacious living areas both inside and out. The carpeting was recently replaced and one of the bathrooms and kitchen appear to have been remodeled giving the home a very clean feel. The owner was responsive and kind. All in all wonderful home for a family vacation.

Great House and Location
House was beautiful and had pleat of room for our two families - 2 adults and 6 kids. The only two issues we had were that the master bed was very uncomfortable and squeaky/noisy and the 2nd floor toilet was not flushing properly when we arrived (simple fix of reconnecting a hose in the tank). The location was fantastic and walking distance to anything in town.

Lots of space!
This house was perfect for our recent trip to Glen Arbor. I traveled there with 7 adults and 1 child. The bedroom situation worked out perfect. A few of the single adult boys slept in the bunk bed room without any issue. The other 3 rooms were very pretty and comfortable. The outdoor patio spaces were also very spacious. And gave us plenty of opportunity to see deer roaming through the property. Our family tends to hang out in kitchens.... the one in the house was perfect with a big table in the center to gather and chat til late late night:). We also loved how close the house was to town. We walked to the shops and restaurants a lot. But at the house you didn’t feel like you were that close as it was very quiet.
I highly recommend.

Spacious Family Friendly Home
Our group of ten (6 adults, 4 kids) found this to be a very welcoming, clean and spacious property. Plenty of living space for all to spread out yet provided enough seating to be together and play games. Our stay was during a chilly winter weekend and we found the house to be well insulated, not drafty and an even temp throughout. The booking process with the owner was simple and the property was as advertised. It’s a place we will return to in the future.
