About this house rental
With private stairs to your own dry, sandy beach in a cove with surfing, swimming and fishing, on a dead-end street, this comfortable home, starting at $2000.00 a night (minimum one month from 6/15 to 9/15) with discounts for longer stays, has everything to make your stay one of your best vacation memories. There is a new gourmet kitchen, great room, dining room with seating for 10, den, two master bedrooms, updated bathrooms and all right on the water. The water-front rooms each have floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular ocean views and each has its own deck.
Furnishings are ample and comfortable, including interesting, hand-made seats and benches, antiques and fine art. There are skylights in the hallways and bathrooms. There are fireplaces in the living room, den and master bedroom. There is a hot water shower right on the beach. Its great for families with children.
On secluded Latigo Cove, away from Pacific Coast Highway, the ocean is filled with amazing birds, porpoises and whales. There is a good surf break, a child's swimming channel and tidepools at the point. It is on a quiet dead-end street, making it perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, surfing or just relaxing. Kayaks (if you know how) are included. Take a great hike in Solstice State Park to the waterfall in Corral Canyon or walk along the beach at low tide to Paradise Cove and its often photographed Beach Cafe and local's bar. We are only two miles to Pepperdine, the Civic Center and the famous Malibu Colony, Surfrider Beach & the Pier.

Dennis and Leah were so thoughtful and generous with their time and efforts even before our stay that we knew we'd made the right choice with this home! We brought our large family from the East Coast, and our in-laws from Canada, for some much needed reunion time and R&R.
The location is absolutely stunning and the naturescapes are truly second to none. The gorgeous bird formations, busy sea life, and even whale sightings made it unforgettable! For those unfamiliar with Malibu beaches, it’s rare to find a home that affords so much ‘dry beach’ for walking, playing, and picnicking, another major bonus with this rental.
Inside, the home is wonderfully spacious and has a thoughtful and rustic charm. There are many areas to spread out and enjoy nature gazing, reading, movies, boardgames, conversations, or music nights (and thank you Dennis and Leah for going way above and beyond to have the new piano delivered in time for our stay!)
For outdoor fun, there were copious amounts of towels, beach chairs, toys for the kids, surf boards, and wetsuits for all ages.
We would not hesitate for a moment to rent this amazing property again, and in fact, we will be recommending it highly to friends and family alike!

NOT A PRIVATE PROPERTY, AS ADVERTISED
This property was advertised as a Private Property on a Private Street with a Private Beach. The HOA for the condos across the “Private Street” was able to secure this “Private Beach” for PUBLIC access 24 hours a day through regulations of the CA Coastal Commission. For this property, that means there is approximately 5 ft of Private Beach in front of the property during high tide and approximately 30 ft of Private Beach in front of the property during low tide. ANY ONE can have beach access 24 hrs/day as long as they do not walk on this property within the above footage. This is not enforced by anyone. The property owner/renter has to constantly run trespassers off the property. We had to run trespassers off every day we were there. Since we are senior citizens, that was not an easy thing to, nor was it pleasant. We called the property owner about this security issue twice. He said he has had to run trespassers off himself. His neighbors said they, too, have to run trespassers off from their properties. After six days of this, we finally had enough and had the property manager (the owner’s neighbor two doors down) call a security service to remove some unsavory characters from this “Private Beach”. This is when the property owner texted us to offer refunding two days of rent if we wanted to leave. Because it was then almost 6:00pm, we told him we could not pack up to leave at that short time, but would certainly want to leave the next morning, which we did. All we have left to say is: BUYER BEWARE. If you value your PRIVACY and your SAFETY, stay far, far away from this property. You’ll be glad you did,

Outstanding home and views!
The located and views of this home are TOP TIER! Phenomenal beach access, with all of the equipment and toys you need to enjoy days in the ocean. Literally feet away from an excellent point break in the bay. Wonderful wonderful wonderful! The home is meticulously cleaned with plenty of space for a small group of friends or family to not be on top of each other. Beautiful neighborhood as well! I wasn’t expecting the live in guest upstairs but rhea was open and welcoming as long as we kept the music at a low level. Don’t come expecting to play loud beach music because Rhea will shut that down fast! Lol
Dennis was excellent in terms of communication and contact. As were the neighbors he listed as additional contacts. I really enjoyed my time at the house and loved the natural sound track of the Pacific Ocean crashing into the shore every night. Beautiful!

Location, location, location
Lovely, well-equipped property right on the beach. Incredibly relaxing. We reveled in the cool breezes and enjoyed watching the pods of dolphins and the surfers swimming right offshore. The property is well set up for family use, including cooking, dining, and conversation. Great California beachy vibe.

Woke up in the morning to the most gorgeous ocean view - we enjoyed our coffee while watching porpoises and pelicans from our deck. Home sits on a beautiful calm beach that is perfect for relaxation, freebie and football throwing. We went to sleep listening to the ocean waves. Home is spacious, nicely furnished with a great kitchen and well stocked. It was the most memorable getaway ever for our family gathering. Everyone had an amazing time. Perfect getaway
This property was absolutely as advertised. From the breathtaking views of the Pacific, to the immaculate condition of the home, we had a fantastic time. There were eight of us, with four children ranging in age is from 10 to 15. They had a wonderful time playing on the beach, kayaking and paddle boarding. The homeowner was amazing in all of his communication and made us feel at home. We would definitely come to this home again. Highly recommended!

Amazing setting
Big family event to celebrate a graduation. Dennis made us feel very welcome. The views and spot are just perfect. Wonderful hours were spent on the decks, watching the surfers and waves. Lots of space to visit and play games.

And Dennis and Leah could not possibly be more kind, straightforward in all communication, and just overall ideal hosts. My family stayed here for 6 weeks Feb-March 2021 and never wanted to leave. I could not recommended this place more highly, especially for families with young kids.

The Seider home is just perfect for a family beach getaway. We loved the easy access to the the private beach downstairs and the comfortable home. Dennis was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We’d certainly stay there again and recommend the home to other families and guests!

A wonderful week on the beach
We spent just under a week here with our 3 children and had a total blast. The owners were fast to communicate and the property could not have worked out better for us. Convenient location and you feel like you have your own part of the beach. Highly recommend.

Malibu oasis!
Okay, so full disclosure here, I am the type of person who will do a ton of research on any given topic or purchase. I read reviews (thanks to all of you who take the time) but rarely feel compelled to add my two cents. However, after having recently stayed at this amazing home in Malibu, I had to weigh in.
As others have pointed out, the location, ample parking on a quiet street and the amenities inside and out all make this a great place. The communication with the homeowners, Dennis and Leah, couldn’t have been easier. They have a very detailed primer about the house that covers just about everything. They answered all our additional questions ahead of time and followed up to make sure all was going well. In addition, they have a property manager nearby who was able to assist with checking in and out. In fact, everyone in the neighborhood was super friendly. The beach by the way is especially amazing because there is still useable sandy area during high tide unlike other rentals. Our adult kids loved all the available water toys to try out. And who doesn’t like a beach shower with hot and cold running water!
We came to have a mini family reunion just ahead of a relative's wedding nearby. The Seider’s even recommended an awesome sitter. While everyone in the family raved about the house and its location right on the water, our grandkids particularly loved the loft in the 2nd master bedroom that was roomy enough for all 3 of them. The added bonus was that freed up more beds.
What I think we liked best about the house though, was the fact that it is a home. The Seider’s raised their children here and while they obviously don’t live here full time anymore, it clearly is still home for them at times during the year as evidenced by the furnishings, family mementos, books, games, etc. We also cooked more than a few meals and once acquainted with the supplies in the kitchen and pantry, I can’t think of anything that was lacking. You will have to buy your own perishable groceries of course, but there are a number of supermarkets as well as gas stations and drugstores within close driving range. And a bonus is that Highway 1 is accessible going north & south, so no backtracking.
So whether you want to host a family reunion, explore Malibu and the surrounding area, or just chill out at the beach, this place has it all. Couldn’t have been happier and thank you again Dennis and Leah for allowing us to share your Malibu oasis!

Fabulous House
This house is amazing, and located in such a great place in Malibu. Close to the Pier and easy to get around. Check in was easy and the house was clean and beautiful. Incredible Getaway Right on the Beach
Dennis and Leah have a truly amazing and very special home in the Latigo Cove area of Malibu. The home is right on the ocean with beach front access to a virtually private beach. The sunrises every morning and sunsets every evening were breathtaking - photos don't do them justice. The home holds a large group really easily, though I wouldn't recommend more than 10 people if you are not a very close group as a few of the beds are quite small. The kitchen is perfect and has everything that you need if you decide to cook all of your meals in the house. There are kayaks, paddle boards, surfboards and many beach activities available, so you don't have to go out and rent anything. Dennis was so kind to walk us through the home on the day of check-in. He and his family have clearly put a lot of love into the place and it shows. We had zero complaints/issues with the home and our stay. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm looking for a beach escape in Malibu. Thank you Dennis and Leah for a wonderful long weekend!
