About this house rental

With private stairs to your own dry, sandy beach in a cove with surfing, swimming and fishing, on a dead-end street, this comfortable home, starting at $2000.00 a night (minimum one month from 6/15 to 9/15) with discounts for longer stays, has everything to make your stay one of your best vacation memories. There is a new gourmet kitchen, great room, dining room with seating for 10, den, two master bedrooms, updated bathrooms and all right on the water. The water-front rooms each have floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular ocean views and each has its own deck.

Furnishings are ample and comfortable, including interesting, hand-made seats and benches, antiques and fine art. There are skylights in the hallways and bathrooms. There are fireplaces in the living room, den and master bedroom. There is a hot water shower right on the beach. Its great for families with children.

On secluded Latigo Cove, away from Pacific Coast Highway, the ocean is filled with amazing birds, porpoises and whales. There is a good surf break, a child's swimming channel and tidepools at the point. It is on a quiet dead-end street, making it perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, surfing or just relaxing. Kayaks (if you know how) are included. Take a great hike in Solstice State Park to the waterfall in Corral Canyon or walk along the beach at low tide to Paradise Cove and its often photographed Beach Cafe and local's bar. We are only two miles to Pepperdine, the Civic Center and the famous Malibu Colony, Surfrider Beach & the Pier.

This property instantly immersed us in the very best Malibu has to offer. A truly, one of a kind location on a gorgeous, quiet (feels almost private) beach, dry even at high tide. Waves crashing and dolphins playing right in front of the house. A fun, surfing point break right off the beach. Pace of life here immediately slows down, yet Malibu Colony with all its great amenities, restaurants and stores only 8 minutes away. The house was comfortable and well equipped; very much the owners' beloved home with their personal effects and memories shared trustingly and openly with their guests. The owners were easy to contact, very welcoming and responsive. Highly recommended for a family holiday in great comfort, with a truly privileged location. Having previously lived in Los Angeles, we returned with our family of six to experience the Malibu way of life and this really delivered.

They property was charming and warm, we felt like we were part of their family. Coffee and cocktails overlooking the Pacific, walking for miles along the shoreline, family game night and simply relaxing were our goals and wow! did we score. Thank you.

Dennis and Leah were so thoughtful and generous with their time and efforts even before our stay that we knew we'd made the right choice with this home! We brought our large family from the East Coast, and our in-laws from Canada, for some much needed reunion time and R&R. The location is absolutely stunning and the naturescapes are truly second to none. The gorgeous bird formations, busy sea life, and even whale sightings made it unforgettable! For those unfamiliar with Malibu beaches, it’s rare to find a home that affords so much ‘dry beach’ for walking, playing, and picnicking, another major bonus with this rental. Inside, the home is wonderfully spacious and has a thoughtful and rustic charm. There are many areas to spread out and enjoy nature gazing, reading, movies, boardgames, conversations, or music nights (and thank you Dennis and Leah for going way above and beyond to have the new piano delivered in time for our stay!) For outdoor fun, there were copious amounts of towels, beach chairs, toys for the kids, surf boards, and wetsuits for all ages. We would not hesitate for a moment to rent this amazing property again, and in fact, we will be recommending it highly to friends and family alike! Many thanks again Dennis and Leah, our memories at your home will last a lifetime!"

This property was advertised as a Private Property on a Private Street with a Private Beach. The HOA for the condos across the “Private Street” was able to secure this “Private Beach” for PUBLIC access 24 hours a day through regulations of the CA Coastal Commission. For this property, that means there is approximately 5 ft of Private Beach in front of the property during high tide and approximately 30 ft of Private Beach in front of the property during low tide. ANY ONE can have beach access 24 hrs/day as long as they do not walk on this property within the above footage. This is not enforced by anyone. The property owner/renter has to constantly run trespassers off the property. We had to run trespassers off every day we were there. Since we are senior citizens, that was not an easy thing to, nor was it pleasant. We called the property owner about this security issue twice. He said he has had to run trespassers off himself. His neighbors said they, too, have to run trespassers off from their properties. After six days of this, we finally had enough and had the property manager (the owner’s neighbor two doors down) call a security service to remove some unsavory characters from this “Private Beach”. This is when the property owner texted us to offer refunding two days of rent if we wanted to leave. Because it was then almost 6:00pm, we told him we could not pack up to leave at that short time, but would certainly want to leave the next morning, which we did. All we have left to say is: BUYER BEWARE. If you value your PRIVACY and your SAFETY, stay far, far away from this property. You’ll be glad you did,

The located and views of this home are TOP TIER! Phenomenal beach access, with all of the equipment and toys you need to enjoy days in the ocean. Literally feet away from an excellent point break in the bay. Wonderful wonderful wonderful! The home is meticulously cleaned with plenty of space for a small group of friends or family to not be on top of each other. Beautiful neighborhood as well! I wasn’t expecting the live in guest upstairs but rhea was open and welcoming as long as we kept the music at a low level. Don’t come expecting to play loud beach music because Rhea will shut that down fast! Lol Dennis was excellent in terms of communication and contact. As were the neighbors he listed as additional contacts. I really enjoyed my time at the house and loved the natural sound track of the Pacific Ocean crashing into the shore every night. Beautiful!
