423 Weiss Knob Ski Rd near Davis WV in Canaan Valley...TrAiL SiDe/Garagemahal lodge adjacent to White Grass Ski Touring Center and Cafe in scenic Canaan Valley, WV is run by Chip Chase and Laurie Little. Two bedroom furnished, sleeps five w/ fold out bed, full kitchen and bath with tub/shower, washer/dryer, and 2 porches. 2nd story and steps are required, 1025 sq. ft. apartment with south facing windows and forested mountainside views. Indoor garage parking. Spring water, warm forced air gas heat and portable air conditioner for the few hot midsummer heat spells. Ceiling fans, large screened windows, and insulated shades help keep the house cool and comfy. The house is very well insulated for year around comfort. We are at the end of a quiet rural road leading to the National Forest and very private although adjacent to the Chase home. Seasonal access to the WG sauna. Secluded 8 acre reserve with water falls, small native trout stream, and shelter within an old growth forest. Streamside trails throughout the property as well as over 100 kilometers hiking trails locally. Endless recreational opportunities in this outdoor paradise. Two night minimum. Pets allowed for $40 cleaning fee. We have two friendly dogs and an amazingly cute cat. They all three occasionally bark yet we are sensitive to your peace and quiet. VISA/MC accepted. * Walking distance to an Appalachian bubbling sand spring.

I loved staying here and it was the quiet, relaxing, and serene location that I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle. The kitchen was well stocked on cooking utensils and appliances so I could cook a few times while here. The closeness to all of the nature and hiking areas was one of the many perks. I couldnt recommend this place enough!!! Would rebook here in a heartbeat.

Wish we could have stayed here longer! Chip's place is very peaceful, set back in the woods in a quiet part of Canaan Valley. We enjoyed meeting him and exploring the area. The Garagemahal itself is comfortable and spacious, with lots of windows for ventilation on summer nights.

The space was roomy & cozy & equipped with everything we needed. We wanted for nothing & our hosts were near but not hovering. THEY are amazing Hosts & we're honored to have met the "mayor" of Canaan Valley. The wild life tefuge was right there. DOLLY Sods was a skip & jump & Canaan Valley State Park is amazing (but watch for ticks) We look forward to coming back!

The house is in a great location to visit all the attractions in the area of the Canaan Valley of West Virginia. If you like hiking there are plenty of trails nearby. The house is pleasant, comfortable and well equipped. The owners Laurie and Chip are next door if you need any assistance. The mountain views are spectacular!

This was our first time visiting WV with the goal of exploring waterfalls and vistas! WV did not disappoint and nor did our selection of the GarageMahal! It is so well appointed, spotless and serene! We grilled one evening and enjoyed our meal on the deck and enjoyed the woodland sounds. The surrounding conservation area is a birdwatcher’s dream! We explored the run on the property that has a lovely little waterfall. The greatest blessing of choosing this property was our hosts Chip and Laurie! They are a pure delight, and we learned so much about the area from Chip. They are true dog lovers with two of their own and made our large, and very energetic Bernedoodle feel very loved and welcome. If you like peace and quiet, tucked away in the woodlands, no light pollution to dim the night sky, and hosts that make you feel like you’ve known them for years, this is the place to stay! We hope to return for some “Whitegrass” fun sometime!

29 years ago my husband and I had one of our first dates in Canaan Valley. This weekend getaway was to celebrate 25 years of marriage and relieve wonderful memories. It was a short getaway but the Garagemahal was just the perfect place. Clean, cozy and comfortable. Thank you!

The place was as described and more. Very pleased with amenities and check in process. Great location for tons of trails in the area (4-7 minute drive). Highlight of the house was the fire pit and huge amount of wood that was well cut and available for us to use. Can’t beat this place.

We had a great stay at the Garagemahal! Only wish we had come when there was snow for skiing at White Grass! The place was great for our family of four. Everything was as expected. The hosts were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the unexpectedly warm weather by hiking the area, including fantastic hiking starting from the place itself.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The owners were very friendly and very accommodating, we asked to check in and hour early and check out a little late and it worked out perfect. The place was clean and had everything we needed. We did not realize the house was so close according to the pictures but it was still a great place and the owners did not invade our time at all. Will definitely stay again when in the area. We highly recommend them and their little slice of heaven.

We are four seniors from two families, we stayed in Garagemahal for two nights. We are really enjoyed the house and beautiful rural scenery nearby. Thanks the owner of house to provide cleaning and nice rooms , simple and convenient check-in and check-out. High recommend and 5 stars for everything.

I can not possibly say enough *great* things about the Garagemahal, the lovely owners, and the location! We have stayed there numerous times over the years, and will continue to return any chance we get. The location is quiet, Chip and Laurie are great people, and the place is well appointed with everything one needs. Located just a quick drive to Davis and Thomas and in the heart of Canaan Valley it's a quick drive to many restaurants, bars, state parks, and The Purple Fiddle. 5 stars all across the board and I can not wait to return. THANK YOU!

This was truly a home away from home. Perfect for our baby and family. Close to lots of activities but far away enough to enjoy the quiet of nature and some solitude. The house itself had everything we needed and lots of nice little touches. Thanks to Chip and Laurie for everything. We will definitely be back!

The house was extremely comfortable and perfect for our needs. We cooked each day in the well appointed kitchen and ate out on the deck. On different days we hiked in various locations including Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Black Water Falls, Canaan Valley resort and the refuge, and visited Davis and Thomas for their breweries and music venues. Plenty to do. The house was very nicely furnished and clean. We had no issues with internet reception. Our hosts were quite accommodating and fun to talk with. We highly recommend this property for anyone who wants a laid back vacation.

Great for all ages. When we got home, I was online looking for property to buy there! Such a beautiful place. Stocked kitchen. Has dishwasher. Beds were comfy enough. No TV. No AC. I didn't miss either. Bring rubber boots if hiking. Front deck has nice grill. Campfire has wood. Totally hassle free checkin/out. Great Escape!

Thank you for the great stay. It was close to Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls and the town of Davis. Very quick walk to a beautiful stream and waterfall on the property, which my almost 2 year old loved playing in. Would definitely love to come back!

The four of us and our 2 dogs had a wonderful weekend staying at the Chase’s place. Nice deck for morning coffee and listening to surrounding wildlife. Easy commute to Canaan Valley where we hiked, as well as Blackwater Falls. A little slice of heaven.

Efficiency managed, clean and wonderfully located apartment. Cleverly situated above a country garage, this reasonably priced two bedroom apartment (the only residence in the structure) was wonderful for our Canaan Valley golf visit. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom facilities were very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Chip could not have been more responsive to our various questions. Our dog liked the pet friendly environment and large yard for roaming. We’ll be sure to return to this charming lodging and wonderful WVa setting often.

The garagemahal was the perfect spot to enjoy a long weekend with friends. It is close to the state parks, hiking, kayaking and great music/restaurants. The big deck and outside fire pit are a definite plus. Chip and Laurie are great hosts and were super responsive to all our needs and questions. We would definitely stay here again!

We have stayed in many VRBO properties - not all good, that's for sure - but Garagemahal was a close to perfect as it gets. Responsive hosts, hiking paths on the property, peaceful/quiet evenings, comfy beds and easy access to everything Tucker County, WV has to offer. We will definitely return!
