We were very disappointed. The size of the home was great. It was very run down. Everything was slanted. The microwave above the stove didn’t work so I’m not sure why they didn’t just remove it instead of adding another one on the counter. Most of the doors were difficult to open. The driveway is very steep. We had a toddler and one person who needs assistance walking and we had to get them out at the top so they wouldn’t fall. The water pressure and temperature was all over the place. If we started the dishwasher it would burn or freeze someone out if they were in the shower. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer

We sat on the back deck every evening watching the sunset

Well, this experience taught me to ALWAYS read the reviews before I stay somewhere. I didn't for this house, and paid the price. We called it the topsy turvy fun house because all the floors are uneven. That didn't actually bother us though, and the view was amazing. The thing we couldn't get over about this house was the beds. The bunk beds downstairs are completely unusable. They are think pads on cross wooden slats, it's awful. No one is sleeping on those. Our kids slept on the floor. And the upstairs beds are not only uncomfortable, but I'm pretty sure have not been washed, there was still dog hair in mine. Gross. I actually really like leaving good reviews, but I could not leave a good review of this house. Everything else is forgivable for me, but there HAS to be comfortable, clean beds.

The view is spectacular, but be careful if you're older or have balance issues. The floors are uneven in many places. If you're a group of adults that plan to "make the bunk beds work", don't. They are incredibly uncomfortable and should only be used by very small kids who maybe won't feel the slats through the thin mattresses.
That being said, it was a great location between all the places we wanted to visit.

Great view! Deer in the yard every day morning and evening! Ocean sounds! House is slightly unlevel but it was cleanand comfortable for our group. Not too bougie!

Pros: A nice ocean view from the deck. A decent space, enough for a group of people to dwell comfortably. Bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Games and activities for guests to use.
Cons: There are serious structural issues with this home, the foundation is way off causing the whole house to be uneven. Clear flood damage on the basement level. The whole basement living space reeks of mildew. The carpet inside, wood planks on the outside and the stairs outside as well as the handrails needs replaced badly. Missing basic small appliances/devices such as a toaster and another roku device downstairs. Overall there are some more affordable fixes that can be done to fix this place up. You can tell nobody is maining anything. I realize a foundation is extremely expensive but theres no excuse for the other issues.
Cleanliness: Half of the towels smelled terrible and there are obvious stains. Maybe time to retire the old beach towels. Floors were sticky, and there was leftover trash from a prior tennant.

It’s a bit outdated with a great view and plenty of space. Could use some paint and update and better cleaners.

Beautiful view.
That’s the end of the good. The code didn’t work to get in, there was water on the carpet when we arrived so the basement smelled terrible and musty, the floors all over the house turned our feet black. The basement shower backed up all over the basement floor and took 2 days to get fixed, and didn’t even get a response for 2 days about the wet carpet. Tables and chairs were falling apart, nothing was well loved.

The bedding/mattress was so worn, two of the kids had to sleep on couch and recliner because the wood on bunk beds was poking through the mattress. The bedding in an upstairs room was dirty. There was not enough dishes/large plans for the house that sleeps so many. Outdoor furniture on the nice deck would have been a plus. The house needs a lot.

Positive: Great View, Support Replies Quickly
Negative, Lock box hard to find, put our luggage down in the upstairs, and it took off on its own. I called this property the fun house, the upstairs is very slanted, The fireplace is sinking, when you walk down the hallway, not only are you on a slant, but you will also fall into a hole. We found dog poop, and sticky substances on the kitchen floor and dinning area. The bathmat was extremely filthy. Called support, and they had someone come out right away. They only picked up the dog poop. We called 2 more times for the sticky substance to cleaned, and no one ever came out. I found a clean bath mat in the linen closet. The deck only had seating for 2. We did not use the deck, as it has the beginning of rotting. On the last night, we found water coming in from under the dishwasher. The house is sliding off the hill side, as noted from above. This is unsafe, and should not be listed as a VRBO.

Visited in July ‘22. House was perfect for our needs. We were 3 moms bringing our kids. Us moms had the upstairs, kids had the down stairs. Downstairs was great for the kids. They had their own bathroom, one room for the boys, one for the girls, and they had space to hang out all together. The moms enjoyed peace and quiet, and the views from the deck. Great trip!

This place has one good feature, the ocean view. But there are other places a block away with great views—one even across the street. This place is a pit and not even close to being up to what we expect from Vacasa. Expensive and a huge disappointment. It’s dirty, trashy, the house is falling apart, the furniture and set up in the pictures on vacasa are different (and nicer) than what is there—including a terrible old crappy dining table with chairs we were afraid would break if we sat in them. The deck is a hazard, the yard hasn’t been cleaned up in a long time, the beds are horrible, the linens are old and threadbare, and the whole house is tilting down the slope so everything is uneven. Even the small things are bad—all the pans had handles falling off (we fixed them so we could use them), there were several clocks in the house none of which had working batteries, the garage is creepy and falling down, the fridge constantly filled with water at the bottom—the list goes on and on. Last year we stayed in a vacasa house two blocks from this one and it was beautiful with just as great a view, and it was $60 a night cheaper. Skip this one.

DO NO BOOK THIS HOUSE.
I can't believe that Vacasa would put their name along side this home. The home is a giant safety hazard, the downstairs floods and they have sand bags trying to keep water back, the sewer system has pulled away from the house, so when you take a shower in the upper section of the house the drains / shower pad in the downstairs back up with nasty dirty water and sand. The driveway is at minimum a 45degree grade, with slimey slippery moss as well as yard debris and misc. wood laying around which makes for a horrible parking area. The back yard is a full blackberry patch - you can't let dogs out at all because they would run right out of the yard.
The house is falling off it's foundation, none of the doors stay open, they automatically close due to the natural migration of the house, the furniture leans or swivels downhill. The dining room table and chairs are literally falling apart, if someone over 200# sat on a couple of those chairs they would break into pieces, I had to put them back together a couple different times.
The power went out the first day we were there, no flashlights, no candles no heat (the "fireplace" they referrece, had no supplies) called into Vacasa, and they said someone local would reach out, no one ever did.
The deck, safety hazard - slimey slippery, boards are rotting. We couldn't stand in the middle of the deck without fear of it collapsing in.
The front yard hasn't been mowed or trimmed back in at least a year if not more. I understand beach charm and grass and bushes ext, but this is just laziness.
70% of the light fixtures are broken, or have dead bulbs - we went and bought our own light bulbs in order to have light in parts of the house. There were Medelo Beer cans behind the nightstands, and cigarette butts in various spots in the house. The game cupboards were stacks and stacks of crapy misc. pieces - not a single game was whole.
I just cant believe this is what we waited for, for a Christmas vacation. Vacasea and the owners of this home should be ashamed by the amount of money they STEAL from people renting this home.
We will never rent from Vacasa again.

Clean and great view. We rented the house for a week. They only left us 3 rolls of toilet paper, 2 pods of laundry detergent, 4 pods of dishwasher detergent. I would think after paying $3000.00 for rent it would have been better stocked. The deck railing needs to be replaced NOW and is very unsafe with 3 storie drop.

nice deck --we really enjoyed eating Thanksgiving dinner on the deck! The kitchen was well stocked. The home is tired, the blinds in the second bed couldn't be open so it was always dark, the big windows in the living/kitchen are great for views but don't open so you can't hear the ocean. There were mice and their droppings in the basement, cigarette butts on the floor in basement upon our arrival. The floors are so wavy I actually got dizzy walking from hall to living room. Beautiful views but it is not priced for how tired it is.

This home is priced low for a reason - it needs a lot of work. (Most of what we paid went to fees and taxes - the owners maybe got 1/3rd of what we paid. So while I say "low" price, I'm talking about the owner's share. Overall it certainly wasn't cheap!)
Most notably, home is pretty much original and the floors are very sloped. (Foundation issues??) A marble placed in the middle of almost any room will quickly find the wall. It kinda reminded me a carnival funhouse. That said, it's quiet, comfortable, roomy and functional. It was perfect for what we needed - home base close to where we wanted to hang out. In Pacific City, we love BJ's fish tacos, the Pelican Brewery and, of course, the beach and sand dune.

The property was not COVID clean! Windows were filthy inside and out, carpet was dirty, and the uneven floors due to structural issues were quite a nuisance. Don’t rent this property when there is a better value for your money!!

The beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable; the house in general was slanted and the floors were uneven.
There was very little ventilation (air flow) and most windows did not have screens, the ones that did were ripped or had holes in them.
The outside deck had beautiful views however it did not feel safe; boards were weak and the railing was not safe.
The downstairs was musty signs of mold were present

This house looks nothing like the pictures on the website. The pics are at least 10 years old . The house needs lots of work and almost looks abandoned. We didn’t even stay it was that bad . We got lucky and found a really nice house 6 blocks away.

Beautiful views in this slightly dated Pacific City home on a hill above the ocean. We were able to view the entire town of Pacific City, the Nestucca River and Nestucca Bay, and the waves crashing onto Kiawanda Rock. The home is functional, warm and comfortable with slightly dated appointments. Downstairs is musty but clean and has two additional bedrooms that could sleep a total of 6 with the two bunk beds.

It was just ok- not worth the money paid
The downstairs was musty smelling and we had to wash the bedding before we slept on because it smelled like pee, light bulbs all over house where out and hard to see. There was no lighting in front or back of house and tripped and fell. Over all it was just ok not great for the money so we were a little disappointed.

Amazing view, well equipped
The large deck and big picture windows are the best part of this home, providing a stunning view of Cape Kiwanda. The house is also well equipped with games & toys for the kids & cooking items. Five adults and two kids were very comfortable. Pacific City is a beautiful place with great surfing, we hope to return often.

Good retreat but there is room for improvement.
Beautiful view. That's it. From the deck, or even from the living area, you can see pretty much all the view Pacific City has to offer.
The house is a rambler (or whatever you would call) with daylight basement. Two beds up, two down. One full and a 3/4 baths for both. Pergo/laminated floor on main living area, carpets for the rest. Living room is quite roomy, kitchen is adequate if you do not expect too much. Downstairs it is quite mushy, you could smell it three steps downstairs. Be careful if your party is allergic to something, otherwise it is livable.
The yard is overgrown with weeds/black berries, into adjacent neighbors'. I suppose the neighbors would not look you with the best eyes. The deck is roomy with the best view, but the railing is an accident waiting to happen.
Well, I like my stay since I know my surrounding. You may as well.

Great spot with plenty of room for kids
Great spot with an awesome view. The space downstairs was great for fitting two family's worth of kids after a long day of playing on the beach.
Thanks,

View of the Beach
This property was great as far as location and view. However, the entire structure slopes toward to the west. So much so that you feel like you are in a fun house at the fair. Cleanliness was also an issue. It seemed in need of some TLC and a GOOD cleaning from top to bottom.

Musty house with many broken items + Dirty bedding and towels = NOT recommended
The house has several safety and maintenance issues: bathroom sink has an "out of order" sign upon check in; one bathroom light is out and the other bathroom was missing the toilet paper roller; shower head connection broke off in the middle of shower; headboard railing fell off in the middle of night; one of the dinning chairs is so wobbly that my guest almost fell off; rooms in the basement are musty which indicates moisture over accumulation; couple blankets and towels are dirty with bits of unknown residues on them ; one of the comforters is so worn out that the cotton insert is shown through a 2-3 inch long torn slit!
Management company was hard to reach after hours. We had to wait till the 2nd morning to get hold of someone to fix couple urgent issues. The local repair guy was nice and showed up promptly. However the overall experience with that many safety and sanity issues just made the entire stay very unpleasant.
Another note: We understand that the management only supplies limited quantity of paper goods. However it's a common practice for any hotel to leave an extra roll of toilet paper for even one night stay. With 10 registered guests for 4 consecutive nights, leaving only two extra rolls of toilet paper in the entire house just doesn't make any guest feel welcome...
