Disclosure Statement: Hilltop Haven is a fully "hosted" vacation rental studio. Your hosts live here on the main floor above you, 365 days of the year and are here to make sure that your stay in the Big Island is all that you could hope for it to be. And yet you have all the privacy, your own dedicated entrance, as your own home within the home. We are thrilled to be able to share our spectacular views and wonderful climate.. Hawaii "Transient Accommodations Tax", ID Number : TA-028-975-3088-01 is monthly remitted to the State.
Are you concerned about the virus? Be assured that we are too. Our standard operating procedure is to thoroughly clean the studio after every booking. Besides washing and wiping down with disinfectants, we use an ozone generator known to kill moulds and viruses. So be welcome and assured that we at Hilltop Haven have done our part.
Very modern and as we like to say better than the Hilton at a fraction of the cost. We want you to be able to experience Hawaii and the Big Island to its fullest without spending a great amount on your lodging. And yet you will love your accommodations so much you may not want to leave. Secure and peaceful, a common comment is about the attention to detail. That and the great sleeps our guests have. Great location at the very top of Waimea. Weather hit pretty hard as it was very windy. Dale was welcoming and kind. The unit had everything you need for a good stay. Very quiet and comfy. Fridge a little loud and back door a little strange as you cannot lock it from your side. Overall, I would stay again as Dale was engaged and approachable.

The property was surreal, as you can see on the VRBO website. We enjoyed how peaceful and quiet the neighborhood was. Our only concern was that we could not secure and lock the back door. The other concern was the price VRBO offered online—the VRBO website advertised and lowered the daily rate from $155 to $150. We ended up being charged for $155. We don't think it's the owner's fault, but VRBO should honor what they advertise. Despite these issues, Dale's willingness to share the property's history made our stay pleasant and memorable. We recommend it. Mahalo Dale!

I loved staying at Hilltop Haven. I felt so very welcomed when I arrived. The hosts greeted me and helped me settle in. They brought me several "extras" at my request, e.g. a warm quilt since I sleep cold. They responded immediately when I had a small issue with the shade going off the track.
Everything you could wish for, and more, was right there waiting for you. Fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful bath with a gorgeous live orchid, a super comfortable bed and a stunning view out the window to Mauna Kea and the observatories.
Very quiet and peaceful and just a short minute or two into town.
I couldn't have asked for more.

The property offered most of what we needed for a three week stay. We enjoy grilling and cooking our evening meal at home. The weather was not ideal for outdoor time...something that can't be controlled😁. We still had a nice and relaxing stay😁.

Great place to stay. Loved that it had all the amenities one needed - definitely appreciated the washer and dryer especially after being in the water or hiking all day. Loved the food choices in this little town and of course, the market! Hosts were very communicative and helpful.

Had everything I needed and a lot of little touches that were really thoughtful. For example, I appreciated the strategically placed nightlights since it’s so dark there at night. Check in and out was a breeze, very friendly hosts :)

This was our 2nd visit at Hilltop Haven. This VRBO is a great starting point to make day trips to various locations on the Big Island. The room is cozy and has a functional propane fireplace if needed. The beaches are a short drive down the hill for fun in the sun.
Waimea is a wonderful town with markets that have local meat, fruit and vegetables. Shopping at the grocery store is secondary.
We will book again when we are able to visit.

This property has an unparalleled view of Mauna Kea along with the expanse of Mauna Loa and Hualalai, all visible from the picture window of the studio as well as the large manicured lawn. On top of that, the studio is extremely comfortable and roomy and well designed and constructed. Dale is an awesome host and communicated well with us to ensure that our stay was a smooth one. It is an efficiency studio-like room, perfect for when you want to be out all day and come back to crash. It has a modern kitchenette and a really nice bathroom with a great shower! The setting is beautiful, pastoral, with dramatic vistas of Mauna Kea. Dale the owner is accommodating. The location is convenient for Waimea town. I would love to stay there again.

Dale and Patsy have a wonderful cozy haven to stay in Waimea. The view out the large picture window of Mauna Kea was beautiful, and a full size refrigerator and a washer/dryer were nice additions not found at other rentals. We would definitely try and stay again when in Waimea.
