We had a nice stay in Tahoe .. it was warm, the fans were an absolute necessity … maybe on more small powerful one would be good. Couple of things: Warn people that cell coverage is very spotty near house, so download instructions and the code before you get off the highway. Screens are a bit spotty .. and why no furniture on the deck? All the comfy looking pieces in the backyard?

nice home close to everything

The property was nice but the screen door was broken and the person before us had that issue and hoped it was fixed for the next quests and it was not. I did get a call to tell me they were working on the internet- we didn’t have an issue. I called and they told me they would send someone out which they did not. They was no soap, shampoo etc which would have been nice.

The house was perfect for our family of four - it's located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The home is well stocked and the bedding is very comfortable.
The only minor issues we noticed were cobwebs all throughout the house and the patio furniture shown in the pictures was haphazardly piled in the backyard, making it unusable. But as I mentioned, all minor things. I notified the rental agency about the cobwebs in the corners, bedrooms, kitchen, etc so they will likely be addressed in the future.
Overall, great house!

Great property at a great location that was 10 minutes away from Kings beach and Northstar. The property has no A/C, which was manageable, but wish this was brought to our attention sooner. Other than that, would highly recommend this property!

This place was perfect. Open floor plan, kitchen fully stocked, plenty of space and ONE level! If you have little kids like us, this was heaven sent! Will definitely be staying here in the future!

The cabin was great for our family to stay at. The couch was huge and comfy. Everything was clean and we had all the cooking supplies we needed. We were close to a trail to hike on. Tahoe rental company was responsive with any questions we had. A great place to stay!

We had a really nice time staying here. Good location, good interior. Water wasn’t on when we arrived, but we were able to get that fixed quickly. Would stay here again.

We spent a very enjoyable week here over the Christmas holiday. The vaulted living room and open kitchen/living area are great for hanging out, and the shuffleboard table is great fun for adults and kids. We like to cook, and the kitchen is reasonably well appointed. The property was clean, and the location is very convenient for Northstar, and north Lake Tahoe (Tahoe Vista, King's Beach etc.). There's a pleasant if undramatic view of the trees around you, but no view of the lake like properties at the top of the hill in the same neighborhood. The overall feel is cosy if a bit dated (e.g. huge DVD collection of old movies, which we did use/enjoy). Some parts of the house are quirky or confusing, with almost but not quite helpful instructions. The internet equipment is connected to a wall socket controlled by a light switch that is easy for a child to turn off (despite the plastic cover screwed over it). The instruction manual tells you the internet may need to be restarted, but not where in the house the equipment is, nor does it mention the light switch situation. Instructions for the pellet stove are very detailed but ultimately unfathomable - they reference a thermostat I never did find, I only got it to work once. In the winter when we stayed, cosy can tip over into gloomy - there's little/no overhead lighting, and the lamp lighting in both the bedrooms and living area is soft (and the switches, of course, hard to find!).We'd recommend this place overall if you are happy to live with its little quirks.

Reviewer Comments:
The location of the property was ok but not the best. It is a bit of an older home with the heating system warming up some of the rooms while the main living space stays cold. And if you get the main living space warm then the room are unbearable. The property didn’t have enough toilet paper as described and also missing items like remotes. Worst part was the stains on the mattresses when removing the sheets for departure.

We really enjoyed our stay! Lots of room and quiet neighborhood- yet still close to all the restaurants, beach, etc The cabin has all the amenities you’ll need and is right next to nature.

Our vacation was perfect. The property was located in a quiet street away from the main thoroughfare. The home was clean, spacious, and had all we needed. We enjoyed morning walks, had easy access to the beack and free bus transport. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance we needed. Sheets and towels aplenty. We enjoyed and recommend staying at this VRBO. Well worth it.

This was a perfect single story home for our stay. Nice dark bedrooms made for easy sleep. The home had a beautiful view out the kitchen windows which was stocked with the basics amd great pans as well. We were able to walk to North Tahoe Regional Park for the ropes course and disc golfing.

Good place to stay in Tahoe. In a great area. Close to beaches and good hiking spots. Pictures are slightly outdated but they added a shuffleboard that was great for late nights.

Overall a great stay. The house was clean and well cared for. Beds were comfortable and showers were hot. Only issues were with the fridge taking a while to cool down, and the Wi-Fi not working. We had a few issues with Wi-Fi going down and having no cell service at all.

Great Location
The cabin was great for our group of 2 adults and 5 kids (12-16) Our three kids and 2 of their friends along with our 2 dogs. A block from great hiking trails in a beautiful neighborhood. Close to restaurants and the lake as well as Truckee. The back deck is small and was a little dirty but not a big deal. Cabin had all the necessary items for cooking and hanging. We had a fun week!

Tv did not work
Liked the location but we could not get the tv to work in any room. Spent an hour but no tv for our entire trip.

This home is extremely run down on the inside and outside. Dirty dishes in cabinets. Questionably clean, old towels (one per guest). Wholes in walls, dirty carpet, very dirty windows, broken porch rail, broken chairs in yard and garbage in yard. Did I mention the smell inside the house?? I believe it was coming from the extremely thin comforter. This home needs TLC from outside paint and wood trim to couch and beds. Pictures are deceptive. Very disappointing!

Great area
Great property! Only ask would be that the property manager be a little more flexible with dates / refunds when guests can’t make it up due to snow (highway / road closures, requests from public officials to travel only if necessary, etc.).

I wouldn’t stay again at this house1. A bear broke into our car that had no food inside2. There was light brown, blonde hair on bed sheets, under the blankets, in the bathroom, on the couch and pillows (none of us has that color hair) 3. The mattresses in 2 of the 3 bedrooms were so uncomfortable that no one got good sleep from them and woke up with back pain4. The property management company was super inflexible while trying to reschedule our stay during the caldor fire, one of the families decided to not join us on this trip as they didn’t want to risk having bad air during their stay. I understand that the booking was non-refundable but they wouldn’t even budge on rescheduling as well.5 there weren’t enough toilet paper, dishwasher detergent provided. Had to hand wash all the dishes. The house itself was nice ( they seemed to have gotten a newer couch than the one pictured) and we still had a good time but had I known these things I would not have chosen this home. I’ve stayed in Tahoe, in different homes many times and this is the first time leaving a not-so-nice review.

The house was perfect for our family and friends. We were close to Kings beach and all the other main attractions. It was quiet and allowed us to rest up before hiking and exploring. And we loved the couch! It fit all of us on it comfortably for game night.

We chose this as our home base for a family vacation after 18 months of not seeing each other bc of the pandemic.
The house was just as listed — clean, updated with new bathrooms, new and easy to use grill, and a nicely stocked kitchen. Five minutes to Kings Beach and there’s a forest trail right down the road. Loved our stay. Will hopefully be back someday!
The only negative was that two of the rooms smelled like someone had smoked cigarettes in them. We alerted the rental agency and hopefully they’ll take care of it for future renters.

Perfect setting for our recent family reunion! Very clean and comfortable. We loved the patio, games, beach chairs, and well-equipped kitchen. Check-in was easy and the location was easy access for lake-related activities. Would definitely book again!

We loved our stay at solitude! The home was clean and super well equipped -kitchen had everything we could possibly need so bringing my kitchen items (lemon squeezer and garlic press) was unnecessary. The beds were very comfortable with very soft cotton sheets. The tub was about 1/8 full of dirty water from previous tenants or maybe cleaners forgot to clean but that was the only unclean thing!
The only feedback I would give is to warn us about bears more. We had a mother and cub in our backyard area -they were harmless and sweet to watch (keep your dogs on short leash!!) but neighbor was cranky about cleaning up dog messes outside immediately as bears will eat them! She woke to a 450lb bear doing just that! I was on it after that and apologized and cleaned up each mess asap ! She also told me a bear broke into solitude -our rental at xmas time so I was EXTRA careful about putting food away in cupboards, fridge off the counters- they will smell amd try to get inside. Wish property management told us a bear broke into this house so we would’ve been more cautious with our food items glad the neighbor told us! But the place was awesome would stay again as really liked the nearby trails to hike ans mountain bike on !!

My family and I enjoyed our stay. It was a very quiet location, just a 5-10 minute drive down the hill to Kings Beach and the grocery store. The kitchen came fully stocked so we could make dinner at the house each night, the couch was a little worn, but very comfortable, my daughter absolutely loved the bunk beds and even our dog was welcome. A great trip overall.
