About this apartment rental
Your hosts are Dan, a Marine of four years, firefighter of 20 years and 9/11 first responder and his partner Jarret, an interior designer and not for profit board member.
Jarret, originally from Oahu, attended Punahou School. He also spent two semesters at Waseda University in Tokyo. He graduated from USC and moved on to DC where he did fundraising for the Smithsonian and HRC. He then moved to NYC where, 18 years ago, he began his own interior design business. He continues his not-for-profit work to this day. he sits on the board of Womankind, the organization helps to get women, children and some men out of domestic violence, sexual slavery and human trafficking conditions in NYC. He also works with two different animal rescue organizations. Jarret works to help some of the more vulnerable communities here in our city. Jarret also speaks fluent Japanese for our Japanese guests.
Dan, originally from Long Island, enlisted in the Marine Corps at 18 and spent four years as a combat engineer. He then entered the fire department, his dream as he is a 3rd firefighter. He spent 20 years as a firefighter, before being forced into medical retirement because of his 9/11 illnesses. He worked at the Trade Center as a firefighter on 9/11 and for a month afterward. He now belongs to two veterans service organizations (local and national) as well as a 9/11 advocacy organization. He does advocacy in NYC and DC with these organizations and has helped get national and local legislation passed.
Together, they have lovingly brought this formerly abandoned house back to life, and Jarret has completely redone the Airbnb apartment, which encompasses an entire 650 square foot parlor floor for your private use. We hope to make your stay as wonderful as possible.
Our parlor floor has been beautifully and meticulously renovated and has 11-foot ceilings, a queen size bed, a large master bath, a kitchen, and dining area as well as a nice sized living room. You have your very own space and many amenities.
There is a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and full bathroom. You have use of television with HULU, Netflix, Prime TV, HBO Go and more.
We are an eight-minute subway ride from Manhattan, great transportation options, many restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood and we are located in a terrific part of Brooklyn.
The house is quiet, conveniently located, and we do our very best to be sure your stay is a great one.
We are located on the A express train, which gets you into Manhattan in a mere eight minutes. The A has connections to the 1/2/3/4/5/C/E/F/J/M/Z trains. We are also just three blocks from the Long Island railroad. The A also connects with the Airtrain, bringing you to and from JFK Airport.
There is a huge supermarket just around the corner. They carry everything from meat to vegan, and everything in between.
We have a large number of restaurants, cafes and markets to suit your needs. There is a long, and growing list of places to eat, relax, drink and kick back. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch spots all in walking distance, or you can shop at the supermarket and local fruit and veggie stand and cook yourself.
We are also located in a great spot for museums, cultural spaces, sporting venues, botanic gardens, and parks. All a bus or subway ride away. You can easily get to the US Open, Rangers and Islanders hockey, Mets and Yankees baseball, Knicks and Nets basketball and the New York Football Club for soccer.

A perfect place to stay in Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn. Welcoming, gracious and helpful hosts.
I spent four very enjoyable days at this beautiful property situated in a lovely tree-lined neighborhood while visiting my daughter who lives nearby. Dan and Jarret are exceptional hosts and made my stay smooth and seamless. They are friendly, accommodating, and engaging. The apartment is equipped with everything needed to make it feel like your home away from home. Many restaurants are a short walk away. I was also able to easily go into Manhattan on the subway located close to the apartment. I highly recommend this spacious apartment for your vacation rental! Thanks Dan & Jarret!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...
If you want to experience New York in a comfortable, secure and well designed home away from home....this is the place to stay. I stayed here six nights with my mother on our first trip to NYC and couldn’t be more happy with our accommodations.
This brownstone was immaculate and spacious. You cannot beat the location. It was a very quick walk to the subway in a very safe neighbourhood. We felt safe walking from the subway at night. After a long day of sightseeing, it was so nice to come back here to relax.
The hosts Jarret and Dan were fantastic. I really enjoyed our conversations and appreciated their recommendations. They definitely were available if you required but left you to enjoy the space as your own.
No doubt....I would stay here again next time I visit New York. I wouldn’t consider anywhere else. Thanks again for your hospitality. ❤️
