About this house rental

Located on the south end of the island, Casa De Mariposas is one of the most colorful Villas on the Island paradise of Isla Mujeres. Off the main road, it is away from traffic and is perfect for families, retreats or small gatherings. The villa has two main bedrooms with private bathrooms, King size memory foam beds and a double sofa bed in the living room. It sleeps five but is most suitable for groups of four. The main bedrooms are on the ground floor, adjacent to the pool , and the upper floors have two open air dining terraces, spacious living room, guest bathroom, kitchen and very private roof top terrace with a Mayan wood shaded pergola. The villa enjoys wonderful views of sunrise over the Caribbean sea. Great attention to detail has been paid throughout the villa in order to make it a peaceful getaway. The decor is cool and calming and there are original artworks and fine linens to enhance your stay. Its your perfect Island retreat.

The location is somewhat remote, yet you are only minutes from the amenities of Garrafon Park, fine dining at superior restaurants or the luxuries of the Casa De Los Suenos Spa and there is a new restaurant across the street.

Casa De Mariposas is a true tropical getaway that can be all yours to enjoy with those you want to share it with.
Full kitchen with oven and stove, fridge freezer, microwave, coffee machine, blender, toaster, Calfalon cookware and crockery and cutlery for six.

Pool, Air conditioning.

A flat screen television, DVD player, DVD library, WIFI Internet.

Fine linens, all towels provided, weekly maid service (additional on request - additional cost), - soaps, towels and tissue in all bathrooms.

Casa de Mariposas has an English speaking agent on the island to handle any requests.

Within easy reach of Casa de Mariposas are fine snorkeling opportunities, the activities of Garrafon Park, scenic walks to the Mayan ruins and along the Caribbean coast.

There are several scuba dive centres on the island with daily trips to Manchones Reef, the Cave of the Sleeping Sharks and Cross of the Bay.

Bicycles are readily available to rent and are a great way to tour the island. For the less energetic the common form of transport is the golf cart - these are great fun and can be rented for $50 a day.
Area: Casa de Mariposas is located at the scenic south end of Isla Mujeres, a gem of an island in the Caribbean sea just a few miles by ferry from Cancun and the Yucatan mainland.

Originally a sacred site to the worship of the fertility Goddess Ixchel, there are still temple remains close to the villa.

Getting to Isla is easy with a fast ferry to the mainland and various transfer options from Cancun airport.

The beaches of Isla have two different characters. The North and West beaches are shallow with white coral sand and very safe for bathing. The eastern coastline is more rugged with curling Caribbean swells and are ideal for walking and shelling.

Isla is known for it's laid back approach to life. Visitors to the island are independent and individual and making new friends is one of the joys of the island.

This was our second stay at Casa Mariposas. It is such a perfect house for our family. We love the location away from the bustle of the north end. Pool is the best. And the rooftop has amazing views all around! Very much recommended.

Always a beautiful experience. We love it here as a haven to escape the hustle and bustle of the north side of the island. Maybe just a few suggestions though, for whatever they’re worth. We chose this place again and again for its beauty, privacy, views, private pool, etc. We spend quite a bit of time there eating our meals and relaxing. A few updated items would go a long way. A new coffee maker (not fancy, just new). A better grill to cook outside (propane perhaps). We cooked burgers and chicken and it took a lot to keep the fire lit. And possibly a new microwave. It was hit or miss whether it would warm things up or not. Again, we LOVE this place and definitely plan to return. But being able to cook and eat there is a big reason why we rent a house. Thank you so much for another beautiful vacation!

Casa Mariposa was all that we wanted and so much more. For us and our kids to have our own spaces made the vacation that much better. Air conditioning in the bedrooms and kitchen were a welcomed relief during a hot summer in Mexico. The rooftop is divine with the ocean views and breeze. The kitchen is small but still sufficient for us preparing a few meals. Alfonso, the Property Manager, was very receptive and attentive to any and all questions that we had. The private pool was 100% worth it! Rancho Capricio is within walking distance and most definitely has the "best tacos on the island". We also loved the location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main road and on the complete opposite end of the "toursit" district of the North Beach. Would highly recommend Casa Mariposa!!

My husband and I have been to Isla a few times in the past and have always chosen to stay on the south side of the island and have never regretted it. This time we stayed at Casa Mariposa and loved every minute of it. The privacy is amazing. We spent lots of time in the pool, up on the roof, and taking impromptu naps in the cool air conditioning. We cooked quite a bit, and when shopping at Chedraui we even made sure to get a bag of spinach leaves for the security iguana (we called him Paco) and his gal pal which I think they appreciated. There are good casual restaurants within walking distance (El Borracho Burro, Rancho Capricha, The Joint) a mini super (for snacks and drinks) and the best rooftop views you could ask for. Alfonso (property manager) came by to check on us and housekeeping, the pool guys, and the lawn guy were all very quiet, quick, and thorough and we barely even knew they were there. The power never went out when we were there and the WiFi connection was great. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more relaxing vacation. Next time, we will have to make it longer than 7 days! Thank you for the amazing opportunity to share your paradise. ❤️🌴

Overall an excellent experience. Lots of space and several outdoor sitting areas to choose from. The pool is excellent and very private. The view from the roof is fantastic and the house has everything you need. Alfonso, the property manager, is very helpful and will answer questions within minutes. The only thing, which is very small, was the maintenance crew did come in to clean the pool one morning at 7 AM. They did not bother me but it would have been nice to know before hand. Again, a non issue. definitely a ten out of ten and I highly recommend this property. I would definitely return. Thank you for an excellent vacation!

This was our first time staying in Casa Mariposa and we loved it. It was pretty far south down the island but with a golf cart, it still felt very accessible to places. We loved the house - it was comfortable for me and my husband and our two children (8 and 6). The pool was a family favorite! The owner was great at communicating and the house was clean and tidy. Kitchen is small but it functions fine and we ate many meals at home. We loved sitting on the porch to eat our meals and ending our days watching Netflix in the living room with the ac. A previous review had mentioned the bar across the street playing loud music all day. We actually really enjoyed hearing it! It definitely didn't take away from our relaxation. I wish I was still on Isla. Such a great trip!

We had a wonderful time at the villa. The location was great for us as we love the south side of the island. It was the easiest check in we have had on island. The villa is just behind El Burrcho Burro which has live music every day, we enjoyed it as we used the pool area every day. The house was spotless, beds were great and someone cleaned the pool several times while we were there. We also got fresh towels. We will be back.
