About this house rental
This newly remodeled home is a lovely mountain getaway in the Continental Country Club area only 10 minutes from historic downtown Flagstaff, and 30 minutes from the Arizona Snowbowl for world-class skiing. Whether you’re looking to escape the busy city life for a weekend or looking for an extended vacation, look no further!
Our home is located on 1/3 acre across the street from the golf course, in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by tall pines. The undeveloped wooded lot to the south make you feel you are in the middle of the forest and not on top of your neighbors. The roomy front deck is ideal for enjoying lunch under the shade of the trees with family and friends; our huge back patio overlooks a forest view and is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine as you watch the deer and elk strolling by. We see them daily during our visits throughout the year. You can also enjoy a nice barbeque dinner outside when weather permits or warm yourself by the wood fire pit (wood provided) during the cooler months. A new furnace and air-conditioning unit were added in the Fall, 2021.
Cozy layout and hardwood floors with all the amenities you’ll need on vacation. This 1,820 sq ft. home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All the bedrooms have new, quality mattresses, luxurious bedding, and an abundance of pillows and blankets to ensure a good night’s sleep. The Master bedroom has a king bed, Bedroom 2 has two beds – a queen and extra-long twin, and Bedroom 3 has a queen bed. There's a new Graco Pack-n-Play with extra sheets and an extra 3" firm mattress for those travelling with babies.
Feel like chillin’ by the fireplace or playing games? The living room’s main focal point is a natural stone, gas fireplace crafted by a local Navajo stone mason. A simple wall dial starts it up with no mess to clean up. In the corner you’ll find a round game table perfect for piecing together a puzzle, playing cards or board games - all stocked in the rustic gray cabinet. Also in the cabinet, enjoy our collection of books (some labeled to remain) and even grandma’s pheasant china for those special meals.
A beautifully restored farm table, that seats 10 connects right into the kitchen. A new Graco children's high chair is available for little ones. Meals are made easy with a fully stocked kitchen including all the dishes, utensils, cookware, new stainless steel appliances, including a gas double oven/stove & gas barbecue.
One of the favorite rooms in the house is the family room with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceiling and hand-stained alder doors/windows. The cathedral floor-to-ceiling windows not only allow sunlight to pour in, but serve as a perfect vantage point to watch the abundant wildlife: sneaky squirrels, variety of birds, plenty of deer and occasionally elk. Enjoy high-speed, secure Wi-Fi, cable TV, live streaming, movies, or gaming on the high def, 4K 55” flat-screen TV, DVD and Xbox. The media cabinet holds a library of DVD movies and Xbox games for your enjoyment, along with a connection to play music from your phone. A small desk in the corner allows a convenient space to work remotely; hopefully you will be relaxing and not working!
Shelves in the garage contain outdoor games and supplies for our guests to enjoy during your stay: horseshoes, bocci ball, a variety of small coolers, picnic blanket, daypacks, etc.
Owners have paid annual subscription to cover all booking fees so these costs are not passed on to travelers. Owner also pays the homeowner tenant registration fees.
Outdoor and indoor pools available for use at nearby Flagstaff Athletic Club, 3 min drive from home, with day passes available for $15/day (2019 rate).

NOTE: Our home is non-smoking/non-vaping and no pets allowed. No large parties or events, including large family (over max occupancy of 7) or team gatherings. We love animals but because of the amount of wildlife around and the hard work we put into the house, we do have a strict no pets policy.

When we first pulled up to the house there were deer in the yard. That was a great start to a wonderful weekend. The house was lovely, warm and cozy with lots of little special extra touches. Communication with Kim throughout every step of the process was very good. Best house we have stayed at in Flagstaff.

This rental is so well done- very clean, tasteful decor, plenty of seating and spaces, stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and otherwise (more than any other VRBO we've stayed in). The location is in a wooded, quiet neighborhood and we saw deer every day out the back window. It felt like another world coming from Phoenix.
We appreciated they don't allow pets- we have tons of allergies so that is important and was hard to find in Flagstaff. We appreciated the puzzles/games/Xbox/fire pit that kept all of us entertained and together. We appreciated the attention to detail with labels and instructions within the home- it made for a smooth, comfortable stay.
Kim and Doug are superb hosts- very communicative and accommodating. Even their neighbors are nice and helped us with our car in the snow!
Would absolutely recommend and we hope to go back.

What a great place for a few days, a week or even a month--esp for enjoying not-so-touristy early Spring in Flagstaff. If we could give it a 6-star rating, we would. The owners have nicely outfitted this modern 3-bdrm rancher on Flag's super convenient, wooded east side for their own family--which is a real sweet deal for yours. Hard to think what it doesn't offer in the way of relaxing spaces, playing tunes, catching some TV and enjoying a fireplace in the LR and firebox and BBQ on the back patio. Whoaa!. Plus kitchen gizmos and staples for about everything you need to get going in your stay. All the beds were solid comfy, with extra blankets and pillows all over. And hard to miss the friendly deer and elk wandering around the area! We'll be back for a good long stay next February!

We really enjoyed our stay at the house and hope to come back again. Kim provided all the info we needed and responded quickly. We appreciate how the house was fully stocked with all the necessary toiletries. The house was very clean and comfortable. Watching the deer in the back was an added plus. While there was a slight problem with the plumbing, Kim was quick to respond.

It was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, well stocked kitchen, and close to a park for the kids.
The extra special treat was watching the deer roam in the wooded area while we were sitting on the back porch.

This is at least our third time staying at this property. It feels like our 2nd home at this point. The home is always spotless at check-in and communication with Kim is excellent. It literally has everything you could ever need for a week stay, or longer. It’s a perfect location if you like to be outdoors and appreciate nature. You see wildlife all day and night in the backyard, there are numerous hiking, running and biking trails within 2 miles and there is a great park nearby for those with younger kids.

We had a great time for our family's first visit to Flagstaff. We arrived at the property and everything was as Kim stated - very clean and all instructions were thorough and easy to follow, we didn't have to guess on anything. We not only found the property to be great for hosting our family (card/game nights around the table) but also enjoyed seeing all the wildlife right outside the back door - amazing! I highly recommend this property for any family, we would definitely visit again! Thanks for a stress-free stay!

This is our third time staying at the property. It was a perfect backdrop to enjoy a girls' getaway with my mother and daughter! Everything is always comfortable, clean, and inviting and you can't beat the location and view!

What a wonderful long Labor day weekend we had at this property!! The home was immaculate, very comfortable and so well appointed. We spent almost all of our time in the unbelievably quiet back yard with the pine tree fragrance and the breezes coming through their tree tops. The deer, including two spotted twin fawns, visited every day. The most interesting thing we saw was the vultures (a lot of them!) coming home to roost every night in the Pine trees. We didn't know they did that!! Kim was great and the trip could not have gone better. Thanks Kim!!

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The location was convenient for our baseball tournament as well as local restaurants. The home itself was clean and wonderfully remodeled! Kim was wonderful to work with and communication was very easy. We'd stay here again for sure!

Amazing house -- love the deer
My family had a great stay at Kim & Doug's house. We booked this last minute --originally planning to stay in a hotel. I am so glad we changed. Kim was very responsive once we booked over the app. She even emailed me to let me know the house was ready and we could get in early. The house was super clean (and I am very picky). I had read reviews about there being deer but did not tell my family in case there weren't any. BUT when we arrived there were at least 10 deer just hanging out in the backyard. On our second day in the afternoon there I counted 20 deer at one time just roaming around. We all loved watching them. The den/family room was great for the four of us to hang out and watch tv. We loved eating dinner and then playing cards at the large kitchen table. We were busy while we were there -- a day at the Grand Canyon and two days skiing so we didn't make use of the patio/fire pit/grill but they look great. We were all very comfortable and would definitely stay here again. Location was great for getting to Grand Canyon and Snowbowl. I found myself wishing we were staying an extra day just to relax around the house...we will definitely be back
