I almost don't want to give a great review- a place like this is tough to find and hard to book. Property had everything you could imagine for an Alaska fishing trip. It felt like home and the owner Jason was more than helpful. They truly had everything you needed and more for your trip. Most important, the fishing was amazing. Although a record Sockeye run type year, the set up at the dock had everything you needed. Great location, dock, and cleaning station. Can't say enough about this property- but don't book it!

We highly recommend this property! Absolutely beautiful and so peaceful! We had a wonderful stay. Also this house has absolutely everything you need including a vacuum sealer for your fish!

My husband is originally from Homer so we have visited a few times and this was definitely the best experience we have had! The home was everything it claimed to be and so very much MORE! The bed was VERY comfortable the kitchen is FABULOUS. River access and the amount of salmon we caught was OFF THE CHARTS! We have a 3 yo and have rented many homes that imply they are family friendly but are absolutely not due to hazards or my fear of him destroying decorations. This was not the case here! The river was far enough away from the trampoline and swing set and slide and little climbing area AND zip line, he was too busy to even notice it was there!! I am so INCREDIBLY THANKFUL to Jason and his family for letting ours have this wonderful opportunity! 100% RECOMMENDED! Side note we brought home near 50lbs of fresh caught Kenai River salmon!!! JUST FROM FISHING ON the PROPERTY! And we were able to vacuum seal, freeze and carry it all home it was GREAT!

This is our third time staying at the property. I could write a long review about how awesome this place is. Suffice it to say that I couldn't have scripted a better vacation stay. As always, it was great having Mark there to take care of us. He is an awesome guy. The fishing could not have been better. The extra freezer was much appreciated. The Keurig was a nice addition. There's too much to list. This is the perfect vacation place for our family and friends. We can't wait until next time!

Our annual stay at Jason’s place is the highlight of our family’s summer. The home is clean, comfortable, and well appointed for a group. However, our favorite parts include the various outdoor spaces, fire pits, gorgeous views and easy access to the river, and most of all the fishing!! We appreciate the opportunity to stay at the property and look forward to going back next year.

The cabin, property , and fishing access was great. The host was responsive and the property was well equip'ed. Its got that lived in feeling cause everything we needed to outside was there,. both inside and out. All the fishing equip, docks , cleaning station, vacuum sealer, and firewood. Even coolers we could borrow cause we got so much fish. The cabin had every thing we needed and more. We'd love to stay there again. Hopefully soon.

Great River Front Property
This place has it all! It's peaceful and it's right on the river! It is about 20 minutes from town. I look forward to staying here again when I visit Alaska. They have many options for cooking outside and inside. The space is very comfortable and there is plenty of games and things for children to do. We absolutely love this place!

As good as it gets.
It’s like being at a high dollar resort for way less money. We loved it. Mark is officially adopted.

Close to Perfect!
This is a great property. On the river, and fishing is great. Zipline, trampoline, Xbox, board games for kids. Firepit, Freezers for your fish, a machine to shrink wrap your fish. Queen bed downstairs, two Kings, and two more bedrooms, each with two bunk beds upstairs. Nice fishing decor, plenty of room.
House is well equipped with stuff for your vacation. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it.
Also internet, WiFI, Direct TV
A real bonus is Mark (the former owner and current caretaker of the property, lives in an Airstream trailer on the property). A great guy who will cheerfully help you in a variety of ways - instruct you about fishing from their fishing platform, filet fish for you, shrink wrap it. etc. Or will leave you alone if that's what you prefer.
Possible downside - it's about 15 miles from the main part of Soldotna.
Overall, loved it. Couldn't have been more pleased. Would definitely do it again.

Are you thinking that this property looks too good to be true? It is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures, if not more. The property is incredible. The home is clean and very well-appointed. The deck/firepit/outdoor kitchen is where you will want to spend your time when not at the river. The walk to the river is super short -- no scaling giant stairs. The river is amazing. The fishing setup is primo. The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked. The beds are comfortable. The host is so very accommodating. Thank you, Mark! We are ready to book our return trip. Will bring grits and moonshine!

Everything was perfect to a tea. The view , the house , the host , the amenities , etc. thank you to the family that owns this beautiful home not but particularly the father in law (the host) most of the time we are apprehensive about people being right next to our group for privacy but I have to say everything about this was incredible. We couldn’t have imagined staying anywhere else and will be booking for many years in the future at this place. A million stars. Happy fishing!

Amazing Kenai River Experience
What a wonderful time we had with Mark at this gorgeous and welcoming property. Exceeded expectations does not cover how happy we all were with our stay at Middle River. The house truly is luxurious. Giant beds, giant master suites and cozy bunk rooms for the kids. Every amenity you could need was supplied. You can see the river from the living room, the kitchen and the screened in porch. You can hear the wonderful sound of the water raging down river as you sleep in any of the bedrooms. Every appliance you may need is in the kitchen and there are multiple fridges and freezers for storing your beverages, food and taking care of all the fish you will catch! The screened in porch is terrific, rocking chairs and swinging chairs and a fooze- ball table for schooling your kiddos! Indoor games are stacked up just waiting to be used if the weather does not cooperate.
There is an amazing outdoor fire pit covered by a tarp on a raised deck to keep your feet dry while watching the river and all the action happening on the river.
Once you head down to the river, a really short walk away, much shorter than the photos lead you to believe, there is a huge fish deck with everything you need for a great time and loads of fishing success and fishing stories. Swinging chair, hammock, seats to fish from, hoses to clean up and a covered filleting station to take care of the catch, a table to work on your fishing rig and to put down your beverage of choice. I could go on and on about the amenities, but the real joy is meeting and spending time with Mark your kind and generous host. He seems to appear when you need him and wander off to his Airstream when you don't. He is beyond helpful, even picking up some baby wipes from town for us when we ran low. He bough a thermos of coffee down to the river in the morning and helped fillet the fish in the evening. He even took us out in his boat and showed us the sights. Felt like a moment from Tom Sawyer exploring the river!!!
I can't recommend this experience enough. We are already talking about our next visit and who will be lucky enough to be invited along. The kids had a blast and fished their butts off, but when they had caught their limit there was a trampoline and zip line to play on, as well as a sand pit for the littlest one.
Stay here! Book it now before we do!!!!

Seven members of our family were able to gather at this property. This property exceeded my expectations!!! Location was perfect, amenities fantastic, and owners/onsite caretaker wonderful to work with. Great place for all ages to enjoy. My favorite part, hearing the river flowing as we sat by campfire and sleeping at night...such incredible peace.

This place was perfect for our group of 9 avid and novice fisherman. It has plenty of space, amenities for fishing (freezers, cleaning station, vacuum sealer) and great places for relaxing (covered outdoor grilles and fireplace), and riverside platform equipped with hammock, chairs and gliders that offered a great view of the Kenai river.
Although the platform fishing was not as easy as river fishing (maybe due to the low fish counts when we were there), it was close enough to the Visitors' Center and Moose Meadows public fishing area, as well as Kasilof and Russian Rivers that allowed it to be a perfect base camp for excursions.
The drive along Funny River road to the house felt long at first, but the old town of Kenai and Homer, highlights of the Kenai Peninsula were also within a reasonable drive. Access restaurants, food groceries and fishing tackle was also quite reasonable.
The house offered lots of space, atypical in most Kenai River accommodations. The amenities were great, although we were often fishing so often we had little time to enjoy and appreciate!
Lastly, the host (Mark) was very accessible and checked in our needs. He offered good suggestions for local touring, and above all was extremely pleasant, sincere, and fun to talk to.
This is a great place to enjoy the all the different experiences the Kenai Peninsula has to offer.

Overall we had a wonderful time. Loved that we could access the river without having to climb a huge staircase to get to it. We comfortably slept 10 adult size people (4 adults and 6 teens aged 13-20). Lots of activities for teens and youth from books, board games to outdoor sets and games. There was provided amenities for fish cleaning and storing it as well. The caretaker was very helpful, friendly and available if we needed anything. The only negative was that the well water had a bit of an odor while showering (×10ppl) but there is a filtered drinking water system which was a huge plus. We would stay here again.

We can not be more impressed!
Thank you Mark for making our stay so special. Mark is the caretaker+ at the property. He welcomed us to the home and showed us around. He had a match ready fire waiting for us in the fire pit every night. For us that is better then a mint on the pillow any day! Beautiful comfortable home. Saw moose either on property or on the way to town every day. The river was amazing.

Enjoyed our visit at the Lodge more than words can express. Hosts welcomed us upon arrival and made the family feel immediately at home, showing us the spacious, clean, beautiful lodge and grounds, informing us how everything worked, and of course, taking us down to the dock on the Kenai River which impressed us most of all! And to the last day (our visit was too short!), our hosts were available to advise and help; I can't thank them enough. And, yes, we caught salmon there too! We have fond memories and plan to return. Thank you so much for sharing this "piece of Heaven"! Have recommended this property to family and friends.

Beautiful Secluded "Cabin"
This "cabin" was amazing. When I say cabin, I mean very large luxurious home. We arrived with 8 people and found our stay to be very comfortable and relaxing. We were able to catch a ton of fish and pack away for the winter. The caretaker was very polite and helpful and was there when we needed him. This place was everything I expected and more and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to relax and catch a few fish. There's nothing better than enjoying a cup of coffee with sunrise on the river and an ice cold beer with sunset listening to the water rushing by.

This place is awesome. The inside was very comfortable, great couches, great beds, and very roomy! The yard was large and the fire pit was fantastic! It was covered and there was enough room for 11 people to comfortably sit next to it. The fishing on the river was hot in the mornings and the vacuum packer and large freezer place was a huge plus! All in all it was one of the greatest weeks I've ever had in Alaska.

I could not have asked for a more perfect place to have my friends/family fly up and spend a week this summer. The weather was perfect and the fish were in.
Upon arrival we were struck with awe at the so called "cabin". This place had everything you could think of, from an extra freezer to store all the fish you catch to a fancy wine bottle open for those classier nights on the river. The caretaker not only did his job in taking care of the place, but he went above and beyond to provide the best experience possible and was always there if we needed anything. The cabin was very clean and the comfortable beds allowed me to have some of the best nights of sleep I have ever had.
When we were not outside, we were down slaying reds on the Kenai river. We literally watched them swim by us (there's that many!). And when the fish were taking their mid-day nap, we had the opportunity of hitting the beautiful golf course only a couple miles down the road.
All in all, this property was exactly what we wanted and more. It is secluded enough to feel like you are getting away, yet not too far of a drive to Soldanta/Kenai if you need something or want to go out. And we all went home with boxes on boxes of fresh salmon to feed our families through the winter. I will definitely be back!
