About this house rental

This house delivers some of the best ocean views on the coast. The entire house has been renovated from floor to ceiling. Custom craftsmen woodwork throughout the house including beautifully restored vintage oak flooring, pine ceilings, redwood craftsmen bathrooms including redwood slab counter tops and heated porcelain floors. Radiant heating provides steady and stable heat throughout the house. Each room has a radiator and each bathroom has a heated towel rack. You will also love the magnificent Arizona stone fireplace central to house with free firewood to build that open cozy fire for those that enjoy that warm and pleasant ambiance.

The house was beautiful, well stocked and felt like home. Beds were very comfortable and the view and location were amazing. We enjoyed the beach, just steps away, and with just a few minutes drive we were in Jedidiah Smith walking in the redwoods and enjoying the crystal clear waters of Smith River. Highly Recommend!!

This charming cottage was absolutely perfect! Excellent views, everything you need was provided, and it was spacious with comfortable beds. The owners even provide binoculars for sea watching, and colored pencils and paper for drawing. I could add much more but check it out for yourself. Would definitely stay here again!

The place was very nice. Everything you could ask for was provided - condiments, paper towels, books, games, even diapers! And the view was spectacular!! We could sit in the living room, have a cup of coffee and see the ocean and the light house. Fantastic!

Our stay here was incredible! The house was super comfortable and had everything we needed. It was so convenient to walk down to the beach. The best part is the view - we loved looking out at the ocean while we drank coffee in the mornings and watching the fog roll in in the afternoon.

The ocean views from this house are incredible: you can watch the waves rolling in for hours. And the house is very clean and comfortable with many updated features and everything you need to enjoy your stay. It was a perfect base camp for a Redwoods-oriented vacation. We would stay here again if we’re back in Crescent City.

Beautiful view of lighthouse! Great location only one house from the beach. House was comfy cozy even when the power went out for a few hours in the evening. The only downside to this home is the neighbors messy yard that you have to look at. Other than that it was perfect!

My husband and our two kids (12 & 14), stayed at Phil and Nicole’s place for three days after Christmas. It was the perfect size and even though CA was experiencing King waves, we could enjoy them from the sitting room. Nicole and Phil were great communicators, and have a very well stocked kitchen. We cooked everyday, and had all the amenities we needed. If we ever head back to Northern California, we would definitely stay there again!

We knew as soon as we entered this house by the ocean we would enjoy our time there. The house was so clean and tastefully decorated. The owners had thought of everything we might need and reached out just in case. It was reassuring to know all we had to do is call or text. I spent a lot of time just sitting and staring at the ocean. Very relaxing. Crescent City is such a nice place to visit. The beaches are plentiful with easy access and you are only a few miles away from endless hiking in the redwoods. I hope to return again soon.

We absolutely loved this house! Where do I start? The location could not have been better. Amazing ocean views, view of the lighthouse, and one house away from access to a pretty cool beach for exploring. But also not right on a cliff, so I was perfectly comfortable playing outside with my two little boys, age four and two. You’re also very close to plenty of great beaches, restaurants, and activities. The house has modern amenities where you want them, like the fully stocked kitchen and the beautifully updated bathrooms. But at the same time, had that comfy/cozy old school beach house feeling like you’re at your own family home. There’s a beautiful sandstone fireplace, a piano that must’ve been about a hundred years old, board games, and my favorite: six recipe cards in a frame on the kitchen wall that I can only assume are mom’s famous recipes. Like buttermilk biscuits, banana bread, and after school snack. I just found that so sweet and homey. Anyway, wonderful experience all around. Thank you to the owner for sharing this wonderful property with us!

Everything about our stay at this home was great. It has all kitchen supplies we needed with the exception of a coffee grinder, comfy beds, and a great living room with lots of windows overlooking the ocean. Phil, the host, was communicative and very accommodating, even letting us know that we could stay extra time at no cost if we wished. It's walking distance from beaches, a big playground for kids, and battery point. 15 min drive from the visitor center of Redwoods National Park. We'd definitely stay again.

The view was fantastic, but the photos make it look like the whole yard is part of the property. In reality, the lawn closest to the ocean is the neighbors yard, and there is a fence. The yard was too low to sit outside & enjoy the view, but the view from in the house was amazing. There were many ways to get to the beach. Location was great. House was very comfortable! We didn’t want for anything.

Oh my goodness! How can I even put it into words? This was probably my very most favorite VRBO experience...and we have enjoyed quite a few. The house itself was so perfect...stocked with everything we needed and decorated beautifully. I loved all the wonderful fancy upgrades (heated towel racks, heated bathroom floors, etc) and it just felt good there. And the location....wowza! It is perfectly located near anything you could want or need as far as grocery stores and super close to so many of the wonderful things we wanted to see (redwood forests, lighthouse, beach, etc). It is just about as close as you can get to the beach and had just the most spectacular views from the living room and dining table. Oh, it was so hard to leave! I would definitely be back. What an ideal place. Thank you!

Beautifully remodeled home with great location, fantastic view, and easy beach access for hiking and low tide shoreline explorations. Bike path access to both the north and south couldn’t be simpler because this house sits on the path. Lighthouse views during both daytime and night (illuminated with spot lights) is a special treat. Gardens and flowers tended by hummingbirds and honeybees were also a treat. Time spent here has created memories that will never be forgotten.

1st VRBO rental for us. Impeccably clean property, well stocked kitchen and great set=up for two couples. The views from the home are awesome and a great location to explore both the coast and the Redwoods. Appreciated the wood burning fireplace and well stocked wood shed. Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The home is comfortable and we admired all of the details that the home had including the floor heat in the bathrooms! The view from the living room at the ocean is amazing, and the access to the beach can't be beat! The couple of questions I had during our stay were promptly answered back when I texted, so that was greatly appreciated. Finally, the proximity of the home to the Redwoods both north and south of us was excellent, as well as proximity to shopping at Walmart, Safeway, etc. It was definitely a wonderful place to stay!
