The Host Ed goes out of his way to make your experience phenomenal!
Such a nice peaceful stay.
Super Clean and tidy. Private and secluded.
Such a hidden Gem!
France Park is great down the road.... Beautiful Quarry, nice trails.
Would definitely stay again.

The property was everything and then some, from the amenities to the location. We had a wonderful time sitting in the river and just relaxing as the water was a little low, but we just pulled our chairs out on a rock shelf and let the water flow while enjoying some drinks in the sun. We enjoyed the hot tub each morning, played some pickleball, and took the kayaks out for a spin up the river.
Everything worked as expected and even with other cabins in use on the property, we didn't see or come across the other folks staying there.
Perhaps the best part was the host, Edward. We honestly wish he weren't so busy taking excellent care of the place so we could have talked more history of the area. He gave a wonderful intro at check in and let us know about all there was to experience on the property, as well as local places to check out and visit. He kept the fire going for us while we went to dinner each night, and really goes the extra mile to make sure you have what you need to enjoy your time there.
We will definitely be planning a trip back in the spring when the water is at normal pool to try some smallmouth bass fishing.
All in all, a great place and even greater host!!

The property is amazing and the views are breathtaking. The Host Ed goes above and beyond to make your stay awesome. So many activities to enjoy.
His baked goods are to die for, totally delicious. You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I wanted a cozy cabin on the waterfront and the Shitake cabin was perfect!
Ed made sure we had everything we needed plus some extras; the chocolate cake was delicious!!
The cabin was very clean, the AC was on, hot tub ready and fire started when we arrived.
We enjoyed exploring the property and relaxing by the fire on the bank of the Wabash.
We also enjoyed tomatoes from our own garden by the cabin.
We are already thinking about our next visit!!

Ed was a fantastic host and goes out of his way to make sure everyone is comfortable. The Morels are a great area to relax and go out on the river. The amenities are endless and Ed makes sure to give you the rundown of each of them.

This was my husband and I's first stay. Upon arrival Ed gave us all the details we needed during our stay. We were welcomed with so much hospitality it was unreal. We arrived for our 17 year anniversary with chilled wine, cheese, bakery goods, and beer, he informed us of local spots and checked in with us halfway through the stay. It was so relaxing and enjoyable that we didn't really leave the property. My only downfall was the wifi aspect but we enjoyed our stay and each other so much it was just a small blip. We even bought a few movies to leave because we personally enjoyed the back to our roots aspect without the internet aspect. I want to make this my yearly anniversary destination. The dogs loved evey minute of it and so did we. We will be returning!

Morels on the Monon is an amazing, well maintained place. A sprawling property with many amenities. I enjoyed the aesthetic pieces like the River rock wall, as well as the many large wood carvings peppered throughout the grounds. Ed is more than a gracious host. He really goes the extra mile to make you feel right at home. We arrived to find a roaring fire in the fire pit, chocolate bundt cake on the table and wine chilling for us, as well as staples in the fridge.
We love the mushroom theme throughout the cabins and he’s building a more modern treehouse cabin adjacent to the tee pee glamping tent, complete with an outdoor shower on a huge deck sitting next to the river. Such a peaceful place and well maintained grounds with Ed’s touch seen throughout. Much pride is taken to maintain the property, gardens that are right outside your door that he grows especially for guests.
We are thinking of bringing family and friends and just renting the entire area. If you’re looking to decompress and relax, yet be close enough to things to do and places to eat or shop. It’s so convenient.
We also took a little 1 mile drive to France Park. It’s beautiful grounds there as well and we loved the waterfall. If you’re into photography Ed has TONS of great photo ops onsite.
The only thing Ed asked of us is “leave it like you found it”. We hope we did him one better and left it even nicer than we found it.
Thanks again Ed!! We hope you’ll come visit us soon and go to a game!!!!

Property was just as described, the owner was great and all the extras given was a first for us out of the many places we have stayed. Very quiet and right on the river. Loved that we could bring our dog Dudley. Definitely would recommend to everyone!

Ed was really wonderful and so accommodating! He treated us like family. We were so blessed to find this cabin. Fantastic spot and truly right on the river. Adorable little spot perfect for a weekend getaway or maybe longer

The property owner went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended. We will be returning with our family.

Nice if you don't mind staying on a property with the owner living there. The cabin was great and very clean. The was owner was nice just didn't feel the romantic side of it with my partner being there. Hot tube was nice just to much chlorine in it. Basic tv and internet was not great. Been nice to stream Netflix or Disney+. Also didnt like the fact there was a extra charge for fire wood to enjoy a fire so we never once used the fire pit even though he told me Saturday no charge. Could be great for some couples honestly just not what we were looking for and felt like the property description was misleading.

This property is a true hidden gem. We lost count of how many bald Eagle sightings we had. Ed is the most amazing host. He went so far above and beyond any other host we have encountered. We will definitely be back and will bring the family to rent one of his other cute cabins. Best experience ever!

My partner and I had a very nice time here! The cabin is cosy, the host was kind and thoughtful. We were the only ones on the property this time of year so it was very romantic and private. Great views of geese and eagles, and other wildlife. Will be coming back ❤️

Such a neat property! Loved all the little touches-like wine and cake to celebrate a birthday! Very relaxing with lots of things to do at the cabin-basketball, pickleball, canoe & kayak, watching wildlife, an enclosed hot tub....such a romantic little getaway close to home! Thanks again!

This place was the perfect getaway to relax. Ed takes such pride in his resort and it shows. He was there to greet us and give us ideas on what time do in the area. We were able to do many things in the surrounding towns but the best part was to sit by the fire and enjoy all of the nature around you. To watch the eagles, river otter, deer, geese, and of course fish was the highlight. If you are needing a time out from the world I would highly recommend Morels on the Wabash.

This was the perfect cozy cabin to get away for the weekend in. There are steps right down to the river that makes fishing super accessible. The host, Ed, made sure everything was very well stocked and we were thrilled he had some eggs for us when we realized we forgot to bring some! That coupled with the fresh garden vegetables right outside the cabin made for a great experience cooking nice meals inside and away from the rain.
5.0 / 5.0
We had a wonderful week long stay in this cute little cabin on the Wabash River! The owner, Ed, had everything ready when we got there including a chilled bottle of wine, the campfire started, the hot tub heated, and a ton of extra special touches (I don't want to spoil the surprise!). The private garden provided fresh green beans, tomatoes, and onions, with the promise of many more veggies as the season goes on.
The property is beautiful and peaceful with 2 other cabins and a Teepee all spaced out with lots of room for privacy. There is equipment available as advertised for boating, fishing, bike riding, and more! We saw an eagle, lots of fish jumping, and a doe and her fawn.
We have already had friends and family asking for the link after sharing our story and pics from this stay. They are in the process of building a tree house cabin and can't wait to go back when it is complete!

We absoutely loved our time at Morels on the Wabash. Edward is an amazing host who greeted us with a bottle of wine, chocolate cake, banana bread and a lit fire in the firepit. The cabin is cozy and well stocked with the essentials. The hot tub was a perfect temperature. The view is wonderful. We were so incredibly impressed and are going to share this great little property with our friends looking for a romantic and private adventure. We will be back!!!
