Best spot in Lakes Entrance. Conveniently located. Walk the inlet morning and night.

Location was perfect. Apartment was outstanding. Our hosts have done a brilliant job on this place.

Lake lovely, traffic

We feel that this location is not suited for anybody that has mobility problems, uneven and steps to every room , the fan no matter how close we stood to it didn’t work.

location is very good,house is clean and neat,host is very thoughtful

Lovely two bedroom unit with comfortable beds, two TV, streaming services and a well equipped kitchen is facing lake with a very beautiful view . We appreciated the bottle of wine,cheese and crackers, chocolates, tomato sauce etc. Parking is right in front the door. Very convenient for traveler like us with number of luggages. Will be back - thanks

Fun place to stay with easy access to walking along Lakes paths!

The photographs did not do The Wheelhouse justice. Once an ambulance depot, the owners’ re-interpretation of the original features made for a very interesting bathroom set up, which I loved, existing windows in kitchen and a large living/sleeping space in the back. Was a fun place to stay!

Loved our stay & the views was great!

Host prepared a cheese platter & wine upon arrival, clean & newly renovated, location was by the lake & close to town, host can be contacted via messaging in booking.com & actioned items needed, quality sheets.

The hot water was unlimited but didn't know the gas bottle runs out. Host replaced it straight away once we messaged.

Superb stay 👍🏼

Every necessities provided. Even more that standard. Parking is right in front the door. Very convenient for traveler like us with number of luggages. Room is facing lake with a very beautiful view.

What a great find. Everything that opened and shut plus some nice fridge/pantry pressies to welcome us. It was so close to everything. We were able to walk walk and more walking! Tonnes of room with 2 lounge areas incl Netflix! Wow

Very close to corner and was afraid someone may come around and take out the back of my car but I am insured....

The apartment was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with everything you might need. The hosts provided great information about the area and fabulous recommendations for activities and places to visit. They had also stocked the apartment with essentials and extras and were happy to be available to answer questions and provide suggestions. Would love to stay there again and see more of the area. Lovely place, lovely people.

Exceptional host. Beautiful apt, fantastic decor and wonderful view across the water. Very clean. Comfortable beds and delicious charcuterie items and wine provided for us to enjoy.

If you have limited mobility the shower has a deep step that you need to get up into the shower. This is not a problem for most people but it did cause us some concern.

Great location. But it’s hard to go wrong with location in Lakes Entrance

Too expensive. we paid over $400 for one night. we were swayed by the 9.5 rating and the laundry. Both were disappointing.

We came as guests and left as friends!

Heidi and Grant gave us from the first second the feeling to be home away from home. Starting with a warm welcome and some amenities and little surprises to enjoy even more. They put so much love and effort to the wheelhouse and such a high attention to details that we loved it by the time we entered it. Spotless and so thoughtfully arranged . They made us feel like home and gave us so many nice recommendations and tips and went really the extra mile regarding every single moment throughout our stay … eg BBQ, Chat and some wine in their garden and so much more! We will definitely come back in the near future and stay longer to rent their wonderful deluxe van to deep dive more in the beautiful landscape ( they rent it for their guests as well) . We travelled with our little boy ( 2) and everything was set up for him right away( crib, high hair and even baby plates and cups ) Thank you so much Heidi and Grant .. you are 5 star deluxe !!!

Stylish accommodation

The two living areas with two TVs. Spacious bedrooms. Comfortable, stylish furnishings. Appreciated the chocolates and provisions on arrival.

The most disappointing thing was the constant flow of heavy traffic that travels along Marine Pde. It was challenging to prepare meals in the small kitchen with limited bench space and no spare shelf to stock pantry items. It would have been good to have two bedside tables and lamps in the bedrooms rather than one.

A home from home.

Really lovely decor and homely finishing touches. Conveniently located. Felt like a home from home, especially with the little touches of things like food in the fridge and a bottle of wine. Host was very welcoming and friendly, and all communication had been seamless. Very convenient parking too.

Perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

The Wheelhouse was perfect for our four-day getaway. Our hosts were welcoming and were helpful with recommendations for restaurants and boat tours. The apartment was spacious, well-appointed, and sparkling clean. There was a water view, and a it was only short walk into town. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our two days stay at the Wheel house. Thanks to Grant & Heidi for their hospitality.

We stayed at the Wheel house for two days in Spring. Booking & Arrival: Very easy to locate and operate the key box. Grant had sent detailed instructions and guidelines prior to us arriving. Furthermore, Grant was responsive in answering our queries as we planned our trip. Location: The Wheel House is located right in front of the Lake and the views are just mesmerising. The bedroom and living room windows open to the lake and offers a soothing and peaceful sight every morning. The rooms are North facing implying ample natural light in the property - ensuring a fresh start to the day! Just next to the property is a fishing Shop (Owner: Frank, who is very helpful and offers advice to all your fishing questions) Parking: The property has two spots for parking - not covered though. Proximity / neighbourhood : Woolies and Kmart are just a few hundred meters from the property. The main beach is also a 5 mins drive. There are several cafes, bistros, bars and fine dine options in the area. And don't forget the lake right opposite the property! Our Experience: Grant & Heidi are fabulous hosts. They had taken care of the arrival needs well. The fridge had necessary foods stocked up giving us the liberty of skipping the grocery run after a long drive. The property is really welcoming with personified cleanliness and the bedrooms are well decorated and cozy! The beds were really comfy too. The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you need for the stay. The bathroom was neat and tidy as well. Remarkably - No creepy crawlies in the property!! Finally, our kids were elated to see two televisions (Wifi enabled) with active subscriptions to popular streaming apps. Moreover there are a few board games and playing cards which kept them busy :) We loved our two days stay at the Wheel house and highly recommend them for your stay at Lakes Entrance. Great location, very clean and great amenities. The owner is very keen to ensure your comfort.

With no clothes dryer and no secure space to dry washing, this was a challenge on a wet weather stay.
