Welcome to The Big Chill!
The Big Chill is directly on the beach. There is nothing between you and the ocean except sand! We are located on the quiet, west end of Panama City Beach. We are close to the new Pier Park and Rosemary Beach.
The Big Chill is perfect for family gatherings and entertaining. It has a large, open floor plan and it's 3000 sq. feet is beautifully furnished.
The upstairs has two beachfront master bedrooms - each with a king bed, TV & DVD, beachfront balcony, and private bath with jetted tub, granite countertops, travertine flooring, and walk-in shower. Also upstairs is Bedroom 3 with two sets of bunk beds and one queen bed. Bedroom 4 is a King bedroom, with private balcony, TV and connecting bathroom. This bathroom is shared with the bunk room, and has a separated second vanity area with sink that can be closed off from the bathtub/shower. Bedroom 5 is downstairs and has a Queen bed, TV/DVD, private balcony and connecting bathroom. This bathroom has quartzite countertop, and shower.
The main entertaining area has one couch that converts to sofa bed if needed. There is a large 50' flat screen TV with stereo and DVD. A see through gas fireplace is a great addition for the cooler winter nights. The kitchen table seats 10 and the kitchen counter seats an additional 4. The kitchen is completely equipped with Dacor appliances: cooktop, double ovens, warming drawer and dishwasher.
A beachfront pool is just a short 50 yards away down the beach.

We had 8 adults and 7 kids and this place was very comfortable for our group, very spacious and the ease of getting to the ocean and pool was great. The beach is not very busy in this location which was ideal for our group. It had everything you’d hope a beach house would have.

This place was far beyond my expectation! Modern & clean. The location was perfect and the views were so beautiful. Close to the grocery store. We are a family of 15, so a 2nd refrigerator would have been helpful but might not be necessary for all who stay here. Also, we have a grandson with special needs so a gate would have helped at the deck. He was a little escape artist and loves the ocean! I would definitely rent this place again!

We’ve been coming to this property for years and it never disappoints. The location and layout of the home are perfect for us and the beach is just steps away from the door which is a big plus. We’ve stayed at this property so many times, it feels like home.

7 ladies celebrating turning the big 6-0! We enjoyed this house so much! Beautiful decor, spacious living area and very large dining table to accommodate a larger crowd. A huge plus is the bedrooms all had their own bathrooms. Maybe 1 was a shared. Easy access to be beach, and perfect gulf view! Shopping and grocery very close! Patio is also spacious with upper balcony and 2 masters is definitely a hit! The back door locks are a little tricky and not user friendly but the owners responded immediately late evening to help trouble shoot. Then sent maintenance out the next day! All in all it was great and we will be back!

Beautiful location on the beach. Even better in person than the pictures. House was amazing! Just grab your own bag of ice to use. Ice maker is slow but not a big deal at all. Our group had plenty of room and the views were beautiful. Saw dolphins swimming in the ocean.

The house is amazing! So beautiful and cleanest place we have ever stayed. View is gorgeous! Plenty of room for the whole family. Beds were so great I fell asleep almost instantly. Love this house and would definitely stay here again!

We've come to the PCB area every other year for the past 10-11 years, and each time our family has grown, so we've had to find a new place to rent for the week. Big Chill 2 was the best of a long string of wonderful homes. It's one we'd love to return to in future years. We have 6 adults and 8 children, and everyone absolutely loved the accommodations. I loved the responsiveness and care of the owners. The large dining area, kitchen, and living room area was fabulous for meals, games, and conversation. The access to the beach, pool, and even tennis courts was very convenient. Feel comfortable to rent this place for your vacation, but just let us get into the rotation again in 2024.

My wife and I wanted to host a great vacation for our children and grandchildren as it was long overdue thanks to Covid. The location of this property is amazing. I grew up in Panama City and have stayed pretty much everywhere when we come back to the beach and this is by far the best location we have experienced. We loved the house as it had plenty of room for 6 adults and 5 children. It is perfect for a large family. We had a couple of issues early on but Karen was very responsive to our needs and they were resolved to our satisfaction. Our family built lots of great memories on this trip and I would highly recommend this property!!!

Absolute Nightmare.. Stay Away!!!!
From the moment we walked into this house we have dealt with problem after problem.
1. House was disgustingly dirty. We spent over 2 hours cleaning. Food, plates, trash, dirt, sand ,dust under tables and all furniture. The pull out sofa must have never been cleaned. Still had old food folded up In it. The main rug in the living room was completely full of sand. We have videos of all this. All the furniture was covered in food and sand.
2. Black mold all over the place. All over vents in the ceilings and around water heater door upstairs. Completely disgusting. We have been breathing this all week. Mold in all 4 showers.
3. The air handler room upstairs is cover in inches of disgusting dirt and dust. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. I have plenty of pictures and videos
4. The upstairs has not gotten below 80 the entire trip. It’s been miserable trying to sleep. We’ve had to go buy fans just to try to keep everybody somewhat cool down. Having only one return for the entire house is absolutely ridiculous!!! There’s no way this house will ever cool off like this.
5. 2 old disgusting towels per bathroom???? Really
6. Bugs bugs bugs. We have been attacked by bugs in the house all week. Bugs in the beds, in the bathrooms , crawling on the walls, and tonight was the final straw. The downstairs bathroom is completely infested with flying ants.
7. This house deserves less than one star. I cannot believe you have reviews like you do, they have got to be fabricated
8. Spent 45 min cleaning sand off the rear decks and rinsing off all furniture. Had not been touched from last guest.
9. Dryer takes forever to dry clothes because the vent going outside is completely full of lint and needs to be cleaned out.
10. Furniture is dirty with stains and dirt. Just gross to even sit on.
11. We haven’t been able to cook any meals ( not 1 meal) because the house is soooo stinking hot we don’t want to add any heat to it.

Beautiful views, great property, and on the beach!
We rented this lovely beach house for a week with our daughters, their husbands, and our five grandchildren. We never had to worry about finding a spot on the beach because it wasn’t crowded. There was a pool two houses down and the grandkids walked there sometimes when they wanted a change. We all boogie boarded and bodysurfed. So much fun! The property gave us plenty of space for 6 adults and 5 grandchildren, ages 9-13. We cooked at home most nights but drove to Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach for dinner a couple of times. If I had one suggestion it would be to buy a bigger grill. We didn’t use it because we had too many people to cook for.
We made great family memories here and would love to go back again.

Best beach house in which I’ve ever stayed
We had four adults and six teens stay in this home. The four older teens used the bunk bed room and had a great time rooming together. It was wonderful to be able to walk from the deck ramp to the beach! The only problem we encountered was the first night we stayed there. Someone tried to put rice in our gas tanks. This is not typical of the area, and nothing happened to our vehicles the other nights. Spring breakers had caused a lot of trouble the week before we arrived, and the police officer told us they had been dealing with all kinds of problems from them. The owner responded to my email regarding this immediately and stated nothing like that had ever happened before at The Big Chill. Thankfully, the rice did not get into any of our tanks. The beds were very comfortable, and there was enough room for the ten of us. Overall, we were very satisfied staying here.

Beautiful Home and Location
The house is very nice and comfortable. Beds and linens were comfy . Kitchen is well stocked and our family enjoyed our spring break together. A small thing but, towel bars and or hooks would be a benefit in the two upstairs bathrooms.

Great family stay with stunning views
Wonderful views from every room facing the ocean. Great white sugar beaches right off the steps of the property. Beds were comfy and Bathrooms were spacious. Plenty of kitchen items.
Gave the cleanliness 4 stars as there was some trash on the sides of the house and the front yard area. Had 3 cockroaches in the house with us. There was a couch missing? (Another place to sleep…luckily we had 3 people cancel or it would have been an issue.). The fireplace didn’t work, as they had a part on order.
We had a great time and would definitely come back to this property.

Everything was "WONDERFUL" . House was beautiful & right on the beach.

Beach Time
This is the place. Views from 2 king size bedrooms, living room and kitchen are as good as it gets. Two bedrooms face the back of the house. All beds very comfortable. High quality furniture. Terrace is amazing. Nice pool two houses over.
Loaded kitchen with good quality utensils. Very large tv if that floats your boat.
Nothing looks cheap.

Loved this house and location
Our family of 11 loved Big Chill 2. The house was the perfect size for us. It is in a great location - not right in the middle of Panama City and on a stretch of beautiful beach with no high rises and plenty of beach space. The view from the kitchen and living space and back decks were just beautiful with a short and easy walk down to the water. We were a little worried about not having our own pool and the shared pool being 3 doors down - but it was great. We could enter the pool from the street side or the beach side and it was a nice spot for when we needed a beach break. It was never too crowded and had bathrooms connected. The house has everything you need to make meals - a great fridge and double oven, and newer laundry appliances. We loved shopping for groceries at Carousel just up the road. The AC struggled a few days in the afternoon to maintain the temperature - getting up to 78 when it was set on 72, but caught up overnight - and it was a heat index of 100 + those days. Very nice the trash pick up was two days in the week. Could use a few more kitchen towels and sharper knives but those things are minor. The downstairs bedroom TV was missing an HDMI cable so could not be used. But overall a wonderful stay - highly recommend this house and location! Thank you

Great beach house for large family
The Big Chill is a comfortable house with more than enough room for our large family (8 adults and 6 children). The house was clean and well stocked. Chris, the property manager was great and immediately responded to our questions and fixed a few minor issues. The only negative was the refrigerator and freezer didn’t get very cold and the ice maker didn’t work at all which meant daily trips to the grocery for bagged ice. Chris said the owner was aware of the issue and he did stop by the house with bagged ice on the first day. As this house is appealing to large groups I suggest the owner invest in a new, large capacity, quality refrigerator Despite this minor inconvenience we will definitely return next year!

Beautiful Home but a few minor issues
This was a wonderful vacation home for our family of 15 (8 adults and 7 children). The location was perfect and the view is unbeatable. The 2 master bedrooms were beautiful. A few minor things updated in the house and I would have given it a 5/5 instead of taking one point off. When we arrived the bunk room beds were not made and we had to put the sheets on the beds for the kids. One of the bathrooms wasn’t spotless like we expected. There were zero hooks in our bathroom to hang towels, bathing suits, etc. and when sharing a bathroom with three kids that would have been nice. The freezer never worked properly and we had to buy ice the entire week. The grill is a charcoal grill and very tiny when cooking for 15 people.
The location and proximity to the beach is glorious… but for the price we paid it could have been in a little better condition. The outside could be updated a bit. The pictures online definitely make it appear larger than it is.
The view is the best thing and the sunsets are beautiful.

Overall very enjoyable.
We loved the house and bedrooms, it was perfect for us. Everything was clean and easy to find. The access to the beach was incredible! The only major thing was the oven. It was hard to understand and seemed like a commercial model. We got by with it after some experimenting. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

Excellent property
This house was perfect for our family of ten for our annual beach week. The beds were very comfortable and the family room and dining area were a great size for our large family. It’s on the quiet end of PCB so we didn’t have to worry about losing our beach spot.

Great Beachfront Home
This house was perfect for our family trip. The layout is perfect for large groups and/or families, and the location on the beach with private access from the back porch is excellent. The beds and linens were comfortable, and the kitchen was very well stocked for a rental. The check in and out process was very simple, and the owner was very responsive with any questions we had. We will definitely be staying here again.

The house was exactly what we needed. The layout was perfect for our large family. The finishes and decor were even better than the pictures. The proximity to the beach made beach set up easy. We loved everything about our week at the Big Chill and can’t wait to return.

COVID Family Vacation
We were hesitant about traveling during COVID but this house allowed us to quarantine in a stellar location on the beach. We had 11 adults and one 19 month old, 5 family units total. The beds slept so well and even the queen room with bunk beds was spacious and comfortable. You can’t beat the beach view from the back porches and the few steps to the ocean, especially with a baby and beach gear in tow. This house is far from any major condos, so the beach felt empty the entire week. HEAVEN! We used the crib rental company suggested by Karen, and they took care of the drop off and pick up on the days of arrival and departure. The freezer did take a few days to make ice, but Karen and the property manager were quick to respond and find a solution for us. Great customer service! I think this will become our new annual travel location instead of the condo we typically rent. Can’t beat it!

Wonderful week at this fabulous home.
House is beautiful. Beach access is great. Location is very good. We stayed here summer of 2019 and again this year so you know we love this place. We had a minor issue with freezer and ac, but was addressed immediatley. THere is one suggestion. There was not enough towels for numer of people that this house sleeps. We just washed everyday. Also the bed linens were very worn and some of them stained.I really focus on clean sheets and the appearnance also, so this could use some attention.

Cain Fam Jam
The summer of 2020, our family came out of quarantine to gather at the beach for our Annual Fam Jam. The family rented The Big Chill again, having vacationed there in 2018. This house is perfect for us. It is roomy and comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you could need for a lengthy stay. Due to the Corona virus, we had decided to stay at the house, avoiding the usual restaurants, water parks, shopping excursions. Our family brought groceries and supplies from home; the pantry and refrigerator provided adequate space for all of our supplies. We cooked everyday and found that this plan gave us extra time on the beach in the late afternoon and evening. Speaking of the beach...the absolute best feature of this glorious house. Coffee on the porch every morning, joined by the three year old early bird grandson; a beverage in the evening watching a beautiful sunset over the water. A private walkway from the deck down to the beach. Children could actually travel back and forth and be seen by adults from the house and the beach. Because this rental is a house among other houses on this stretch of sand, rather than a condo or townhome, the beach was less crowded and more private. We had no problem with social distancing. There is a community pool that was convenient and rarely crowded. Bedding and linens are attractive and comfortable. Bathrooms are generously supplied with towels and wash cloths. The owner and her maintenance staff are the best, answering every question and meeting every need. As I write this, I fear letting all of you know about this place may make it harder for me to get it again next year. I think I’ll just reserve it again right now. (Oh, I need to recommend Thomas Donuts, another plus. Poppy did venture out for donuts every morning. Delish. )
