Gorgeous property in fabulous marina location. The owners were very responsive and pleasant. We look forward to returning.

The most beautiful and elegant setting in San Francisco. Walking distance to restaurants, stores and the Golden Gate Bridge.. The hosts Teresa and Glen were warm and responsive, checking in with us and taking care of every need we had. And they thought of everything! This was nicer than any hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We will return again and again!

We'll just keep coming back while we're welcome. We've been staying at this beautiful home at the same time every year since 2014. That says a lot about how marvelous this home is.

Another perfect stay!
This is my second holiday season staying at this beautiful home with my family. (My family and I also spent two summers there and plan to return this summer). I grew up in San Francisco, and this beautiful, meticulously maintained property always feels like coming home. We love spending time together in the gorgeous house and garden, and especially walking everywhere--to the Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio, and nearby restaurants, cafes and shopping on Chestnut street. Whenever we arrive, we are greeted by the lovely owners and treated to wine, cheese, delicious cakes (which my boys now know to look forward to) and fresh flowers. The spectacular view is marvelous all the time. We can truly enjoy and relax in this perfect setting, and we can't wait to come back this summer!

Our family has stayed at Teresa and Glenn’s home across this beautiful and historical park at least one month a year since 2014 and it has become something we all look forward to every year. There will not be enough superlatives to describe this home, and the consistency with which everything is beautifully in place is simply remarkable. We are so grateful for another memorable stay. We will be visiting again soon.

We decided to spend a month in San Francisco in advance of our son’s wedding. One night during Covid, I was looking around at VRBO listings and in one very very lucky click, found this dreamy, magnificent home. Other renters have mentioned all the attributes - incredible walk everywhere location, the most magnificent decor, furnishings and finishes, the fabulous outdoor spaces and the warmth of the owners Glenn and Theresa and Lorri, the house manager. The views !!!! You’ve never seen anything as magical. Within a short time, I felt like a local, walking to get groceries, or have a great dinner. There are so many comfy gorgeous spaces in the house, it’s sometimes hard to make yourself leave to explore the city. We ( my husband, adult son and daughter-in-law) had the best month. The owners have outdone themselves, they’ve thought of anything and everything you might need or enjoy while visiting SF. Absolute perfection!

Absolutely perfect--a second home to our family!
This property is a dream come true. As a San Franciscan who now lives in Texas, I couldn't have imagined a more perfect setting to come back to the city and enjoy it with my family and friends. This was the second consecutive summer stay for my two sons and me, and we have already booked in advance for next summer. The home is immaculate and beautifully decorated, with every comfort and amenity, as well as lovely outdoor and garden areas, allowing for dining and visits al fresco. It is perfectly located, just minutes from Crissy field and my favorite walk to the Golden Gate bridge, as well as walks through the Presidio and to Fisherman's Wharf. My boys and I especially enjoyed the proximity to Chestnut Street with its open air cafes and dining. The home offers parking, and we enjoyed being just minutes away from Marin County and a very convenient drive to wine country. The owners are so wonderful--thoughtful, meticulous, and accommodating. The property manager is wonderful. This truly offers the very best of San Francisco--in a beautiful home that is so lovely that it is comfortable just to stay home and enjoy family time. The kitchen is perfectly appointed, and I enjoyed walking to the weekend farmer's market at Fort Mason to buy fresh herbs and seasonal fruit and vegetables for our family. At check in, we now know to look forward to the beautiful floral arrangements, and especially the delicious baked goods (my boys' favorite)! We truly consider this a second home, and my boys look forward to our time there and feel comfortable in the city. I am so grateful to the owners for sharing their lovely, perfect home with our family. We are already looking forward to our

Most Impressive Consistency
We've stayed at this gorgeous home at least one month every year since 2014, and every visit here has begun most exquisitely: with fresh flowers in every room, Suzie's cake, cheese and crackers, and champagne. The bed linen are always crisp and fresh, towels plentiful, starter bathroom supplies complete, the whole house squeaky clean, and every appliance working perfectly. Such unwavering consistency is not for show, but simply in the owners' DNA. It's not surprising that many families return to this home at the same time every year. Thank you so much, Teresa and Glenn, for the warmest welcome at our every visit! We will be back again later this year.

Perfection in every way!
From beginning to end, our stay at Boxwood House was a pleasure in every way. The property is exquisite in its location and decor, and meticulously maintained. Every comfort, from fresh flowers and croissants (which my boys loved!) on arrival to deliciously soft sheets to bath salts was provided. The owners and property manager are wonderful, delightful hosts and made us feel welcome from the time we arrived. This truly felt like a home away from home, and our family made such beautiful memories there. We walked to to Golden Gate Bridge, Presidio or Fisherman’s Wharf nearly every day, easily drove to Marin for day hikes and exploring, and mostly just loved being together in this magical home—-meals in the breakfast nook or beautiful garden, reading in the sitting room. The home fosters comfort, relaxation, and family time. I couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect summer, and am so grateful that Teresa and Glenn shared their home with us. I am already looking forward to our next stay! Many many thanks for this special gift!

Now Truly A Second Home
Thank you, Teresa and Glenn, for another wonderful stay at The Boxwood House. We cannot imagine having Thanksgiving anywhere else. I’ve booked next year’s stay, a full year in advance again, and this time because our children have asked for us to stay here again. This home has seen them grow up and become the young man and women they are today. We can’t say enough good things about this home - its warmth, its embrace - and it has been truly home for us in SF. Thanks for the privilege, and for all our wonderful memories in it of Thanksgivings for the last five years.

We spent August for the 2nd year in a row here. The home was impeccable. Lorri, the house Manager, and the Gilliams create a wonderful experience in this meticulously maintained home. Every attention to detail has been addressed to create an outstanding stay. The home and location are second to none, with an abundance of restaurants, shops, hiking, walking, and biking experiences close by. The views of the Palace of Fine Arts are phenomenal. The Presidio and Marina are 2 blocks away, plus you are walking or biking distance to the Golden Gate Bridge, Ghirardelli Square, and Fishermen’s Wharf. We will look forward to returning.

New Family Tradition
We spent another November, our sixth stay, at The Boxwood House. Over the last five Thanksgiving Days, our family has built new traditions in what we consider as another home. We sit by the kitchen counter as one of our daughters bakes bread pudding in the well-equipped main kitchen while my husband and son grill steak in the outdoor kitchen outside the entertainment room. We catch up on each other’s news as we sit down to dinner in the main dining room, or in the kitchen. We sit in the living room to read side by side. We watch our favorite sports teams showing on one of the four TV sets. We listen to each other’s playlists over the Sonos system that the owners have installed throughout the house, or sometimes opt to keep the music playing only in one room, whichever way suits our family at that time. We love the big Sub Zero ref in the main kitchen and how much supplies it can hold. For our occasional guests, we’ve been able to offer Stella beer on tap. And we’ve come to expect the fresh flowers in every room in the house when we check in.
We will keep visiting this home for as long as the owners will have us. It is perfect for keeping our small family to stay connected to each other despite needing to be apart for the rest of the year.

One of the best homes worldwide!
We travel extensively using sites like VRBO, and this was by far the best home we have rented in 12 years!. The attention to detail by the owners, and care taker are outstanding. The location, views, neighborhood, and home were all top notch! We will defiantly be back, as this experience was world class. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home!

Fabulous Home in an incredible location
This home has it all. It’s in a spectacular setting facing the Palace of Fine Arts, adjacent to the Presidio, and its within walking distance of Chestnut and Union streets with all their restaurants and shops. Additionally the Marina district and the Golden Gate Bridge are also in easy walking and biking distance. The home has been totally remodeled, and is impeccably well maintained and decorated, with amenities that you might expect of a fine resort. The two kitchen areas have top notch appliances. Additionally the home has 2 separate living areas, plus an outdoor seating area with a fireplace and grill. We will be returning to this fine home.

Our Home in San Francisco
Our family's latest stay at The Boxwood House was our fifth, and our longest one so far. We lived in this beautiful home for a month. Our young adult children stayed with us on weekends. We've celebrated three of the last four Thanksgiving holidays here, and have built the most endearing memories in this home by the Palace of Fine Arts. The house is big enough so that five or six people would find their own little corners, while cozy enough to ensure that we had many opportunities to catch up on each other's lives. Whether it was watching a basketball or football game together in the entertainment room at the basement level, or grilling steaks at the outdoor patio where there is a live fireplace, or baking bread pudding in the main kitchen, our family has loved just being together here, which our children have nicknamed "the palace" - this place that has become what we've now considered home for us in San Francisco.

ONCE AGAIN!!!!!
You will never want to leave...and that's why we didn't!!!
We stayed for 10 months last year and came back for another year...and would stay another year!!! The beautiful decor (inside and out!) and all the comforts of home, along with the VIEW, the fabulous location, the lovely owners and Lorri (who will take care of everything for you - is so gracious and kind).
You are checked in feeling special and leave feeling grateful.
The kitchen (and the 2nd kitchen on the garden level!!) is stocked with all you could need. The beds are amazing with crisp freshly pressed sheets. It really feels like home. You will watch the Palace of Fine Arts come to life in the morning and glow beautifully in the evening when the sun sets.
If you can stay... stay!
Like I said...You will not want to leave!

House exceded our expectations!
We travel extensively and we've stayed in some of the finest hotels and resorts the world over. Now that we have a young child, we decided to do something different. So we rented this house in San Francisco for a month with the intent to become "temporary locals." What a wonderful experience it was!
The house itself is perfectly sized, clean and well-appointed which made us feel immediately at home. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one could possibly need. We cooked daily and even made cupcakes. The location of the house was key for us. It is well-located within the Marina District allowing for easy walks to a gym, restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and many other services. An unexpected surprise -- one that we enjoyed very much -- was the people watching we did from our living room. The house has spectacular views of the Palace of Fine Arts and with those views came people from all walks of life. We lost count of how many brides in their wedding gowns chose the Palace of Fine Arts for their wedding photos!
All in all, it was a fabulous experience for our family. One we hope to relive in 2017.

The Boxwood House
LUCKY, LUCKY, LUCKY us!!!!
We had an amazing 10 month stay in the dreamy Boxwood House! The location could not be better! The Palace of Fine Arts is literally in your front yard (and quietly, gorgeously glows each evening), the Marina is steps away and fun Chestnut Street (full of cute shops, cafes, movie theaters and great restaurants) is just a short walk. The home is beautifullly decorated inside and out. BOTH kitchens are complete with all the supplies and appliances one would need, the dining room with gorgeous china, the office with computer and printer, the bars are stocked, fabulous sonos sound system, gorgeous outdoor spaces…of course filled with beautiful boxwoods, laundry room with all you would need, fluffy towels and amazingly ironed Frette sheets on the cozy, comfortable beds. The owners and staff are very kind and responsive to any needs yet also greatly respect your privacy. It's fun to walk up the steps and open the gate to The Boxwood House…an "pretend" you live there!! We will be back!!

Boxwood House
Fantastic property with all the right touches. The location of the house is close to the Marina and right across the street from the Palace of Fine Arts. This in addition to the interior and exterior design of the house makes this a must stay vacation home. That is not even the best part of the experience. The owners are kind and considerate and really care about making this a wonderful experience. So many personal touches.
Thanks

Shangri la in San Francisco
My family and I recently stayed at this fabulous house for 10 days. We were in San Francisco for many reasons, I was running the San Francisco half marathon, it was my husband's birthday and my daughter's sweet 16 in the same week and we just wanted some down time as a family before our oldest went off to college.
I won't get so much into the things that we did in SF. We've all been to SF before and took in a lot of the tourist sights and we did some of that this time too. I would much rather talk about the house. For us, the house was a retreat, a world away from home but right in the heart of San Francisco.
We did a lot of relaxing, reading, cooking, enjoying the view every second that we could. We left the curtains open at night to enjoy the beautiful lights from the Palace. We grilled and enjoyed dinner in the entertainment room. Location is everything. As a runner, I ran every day on the marina to Fort Point. On the weekend I had easy access to the bridge and ran over the bridge to Marin and back. It was a runner's dream location! My teenage kids discovered Chestnut and walked up and down window shopping, getting a bite and just enjoyed the neighborhood
It's the little details that make this house great; the chefs kitchen; the quality of the finishes; the sophisticated yet warm and inviting decor; Kiehls products in the master bath; Stella on tap and the small touches like the birthday cake and cupcakes hat greeted both my husband and daughter. Totally unexpected and totally on point! Joseph, the manager was lovely to work with and super professional. Our stay was everything we wanted and more. My family and I will always remember our time at the Boxwood house. Not sure when but I am fairly certain I will come back and stay at this house! We very highly recommend this home!!

Fabulous House
The house is beyond the photos. Not only is every room luxurious to a fault, but the view, the amenities, the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness of what a guest would possibly want took this place over the top. We loved the location for our family - two small children able to hit the beach, the park, walk to breakfast, play in the backyard...it was very family friendly. We had a fantastic week and hope to book another. We highly recommend this home.

Yacht Charter with Our Stay
As expected, this home was the perfect place for our reunion with our young adult children. Our nearly two-week stay was highlighted by a yacht charter that was available to house guests only. It was a fresh experience for our group, with such a knowledgeable captain, and a wonderful afternoon spent on SF Bay. The owners and property manager thoughtfully prepared a very delicious lunch before the cruise started. They had caps for all of us to use, which they gave us as memento, and before we checked out of the home, had also gifted us with a beautifully-framed souvenir photo of our group aboard the yacht.
Paying close attention to detail, they had a birthday cake for our daughter who turned a year older while we were guests at the home. We were welcomed at check-in and sent off at check-out with such warmth and genuine affinity (and not to forget, the pink peonies and Phalaenopsis orchids all over the house). What a fantastic second stay at The Boxwood House we had, and we look forward to returning (for a third time) in the Fall.

Breath taking view
As everyone has said the cake, scones, fruit on arrival was amazing, but the view of the Palace of fine arts was what set this apart from other rentals that we have done, the beds were very comfortable, there were real flowers in each room, and beautiful robes in each closet, my son had some friends over to visit one night and they went down to entertainment room and we didn't even hear them,,which was great since we were getting up at 5 am for the Alcatraz triathlon ,

Spectacular San Francisco Home
Me and my family (wife + 3 Daughters) stayed in this spectacular home for a whole month. That was our first experience not in a hotel. I feel we are spoiled for life!
Being honest, I think it will be very difficult to find such a great house with a view like this one. What a wonderful vacation we had! Outside, a very peaceful neighborhood, an incredible front view, with very pleasant weather. We had perfect mornings and evenings jogging on the waterfront.
Inside, a very comfortable house, with every single luxury detail at our disposal. We had unforgettable times cooking, eating or watching movies.
Thanks for the manager (Joseph) for all the attention and kindness. Congratulations for a such professional and polite service.
We wish Joseph and the owners a spectacular 2015, with lots of peace and joy!

Perfect Retreat
After many years of trying to find the perfect vacation rental in San Francisco for a small family, we have finally found the one. The home is extremely well furnished, has the most gorgeous view of the Palace of Fine Arts, and the most gracious and thoughtful hosts. The sightseeing begins at the home itself, with the many interesting framed antique postcards, pen-and-ink drawings, and lithographs that decorate the walls. Each and every room in the home is stylish, comfortable and functional. It is a tenant's dream. The mistake will be to not lease it.
