The main level of the home has a stunningly designed kitchen with island seating and a dining area; both open to the main living room. The living room flows into to an exquisite four-season porch with sweeping views of the lake; the perfect place for early morning coffee!
Relax and unwind in the home’s lower level, where entertaining and comfort are a guarantee! The lower living room has a walkout to the lakefront and a bar that looks out towards the lake. Just a weekend getaway. Awesome that dogs are allowed on property. (Neighbors and our dog got off to a rough start. Not fun). Beautiful area but home had filthy carpet throughout. Staircase to lower level was was/is scary. Improvements need to be made for safety reasons. Will not return.

The location was great - we really enjoyed feeling a bit off grid, and the lake's fish population kept us entertained. The property itself was really nice and comfortable for our party of 5. We really loved the kitchen and the set up for eating. The "nook" in the front of the house was great for reading and enjoying the scenery. And we loved the fire pit. The only real knocks on Knotty Pines were the fact that it was a mostly carpeted property; I'm not a big fan of carpeting, although I know it isn't unusual. The steps going downstairs were also kind of "thin", which made it a bit uncomfortable for the person sleeping downstairs. Also would have been nice to have a fish-cleaning area, but again, these are all just personal preferences. The property wasn't completely cleaned either when we entered, but Hiller did allow us to come in early, so we could live with it. We would stay at the property again.

Great Weekend Get-a-way
Property was clean and comfortable. Great access to the lake and we used the boat rental service which was amazing. Our stay was short but it was just what we were looking for. Originally we were going to bring our dog as it was a pet friendly place but it we decided not to. You would never know the place had pets in it. Very clean so the staff must take care when cleaning between visitors.

Labor Day on Found Lake
We had a great vacation here. Rented a pontoon boat that was perfect. Waiting for us at the pier. Perfect to just relax with the family and reconnect. Only problem was no WiFi, but it looked like cable might have gotten cut by County road grass cutters. Not anyone's fault.
Would definitely recommend this home. Remote enough, but an easy 5 mile bike ride into St. Germain which was the second best thing next to the pontoon boat.
We will definitely rent from Hiller's again.

Overall a good place to stay. The water smells awful...recommend a filter system or something. Layout is odd..have to lug everything up stairs or go to the other side of house to get luggage etc to bedrooms. Very weedy...very poor swimming by the pier...kids were disappointed. It was ok..the Pontoon we rented was very nice. We won't be back to this spot again tho...try another place.

Overall, the house was very comfortable and clean. There were a few minor things that we noticed like, clothes left behind from previous renters were in dresser drawers, a chair in the dining room had a sign saying it was "broken" dated 5/2021, a piece of patio furniture was broken, one of the beds was missing a crossbar on the frame so the mattress would fall crooked. The yard was nice for hanging out and playing games- our dog also loved running around it! The lake is beautiful - we had a great time boating, tubing, knee boarding and exploring the Island. There are nice hiking/biking trails close by as well. The most disappointing thing were the amount of weeds by the pier. We couldn't play in the water by the pier. The pictures on line did not show that at all. For me, that was the hardest thing. If you wanted to swim or float on something, you had to do it out in the lake where there were less weeds. If I would have known that ahead of time, I wouldn't have picked this property. I think it would be a good investment for the owners to clear the weeds and make it swim friendly.

Perfect setting for a comfortable family Thanksgiving get-a-way! Maybe a bit Hallmark sounding but Immediately upon arriving we opened the truck doors and felt a huge sense of peace! Entering into the cabin each space was an additional surprise! The lower level had a secondary kitchen space that also hosted a FoosBall table (Would have been hours of fun but the dogs didn't like the family playing it for some reason!) The space was then follow up by a beautiful lower level living room with a pot belly fireplace, TV and large bar. Then you head upstairs and are mesmerized by the view from the open kitchen onto the lake! The kitchen was supplied with just about everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving meal (we brought the food, spices and tupperware for afterward) The kids then quickly ran down the hall and called out their choice of one of the 3 beautifully decorated bedrooms. The open Sunroom ended up being a favorite of EVERYONE'S. To top off the blissful stay we drove to nearby Boulder Junction to experience yet another Hallmark-like event of Santa arriving and walking through town with Cocoa while looking around in the Shoppes! If its peace and comfort you're in search of ANY time of year....I Highly recommend this gorgeous rental!

This place was the cabin experience I was looking for. The visits by wildlife were fantastic. Bald eagles flying over the cabin and deer walking through the yard. The dog was so excited to see them. The lake views were wonderful.The sun room was a great place to sit and read a book or just look out at the lake. The home is a bit older but felt like a family place. We would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed here in the past. The addition of A/C by the new owners is a welcome bonus, but the cameras on prem are not! Supposedly they are only on when someone is not renting, but ... Also, a good deep cleaning and checking smoke alarm batteries and lights that are out (stairwell) is needed. All that said, we do enjoy the home and it's location.

Knotty Pines Fall Getaway
This property was what I expected my Northwoods rental to be: not super up-to-date, but plenty adequate to get away from home and enjoy some time in nature. We booked the property due to the four seasons room, and that did not disappoint: even though the weather was chilly, it was nice to still be close to the lake and all the fall colors.
The property seemed pretty clean, although we found the dirty coffee pot tucked away in a closet.
They have been listening to some suggestions: for example, there were new boards in the steps going down to the lake. The pier could use an update, but that's likely a bigger future project. The kitchen could be stocked a little better, though we were able to cook everything we wanted to.
All in all, we had a great stay! We saw wildlife every day and had fun relaxing in the pretty Northwoods.

Pictures o line made the place more than it was. Outside of home should be cleaned. Inside the carpet was very dirty. More information about the home as games indoor and out that are available and a tv guide list would have been great. Overall just a good cleaning out side and windows would have made the stay more enjoyable. The check out time is too early.

While the overall vacation was considered positive, there were a couple of problems which have left the experience somewhat frustrating in our minds. One had to do with an unfortunate incident that occurred due to the lack of cleanliness in the carpeting. Our mother stepped onto a red fish hook left in the carpeting by previous guests, which stabbed her in the foot and left her unable to walk for a couple of days (Ouch!). We also had great concerns about the lack of safety with the steps going to and from the cottage and the water frontage. The number of trips, falls, etc., when caught on the uneven pieces of cement, bricks, and wood strips were ridiculous. Last, but not least, as we noted in the phone call to you, we should have been reimbursed for the loss of time (2 hours) during which the boat we rented did not work. It was unfortunate that this occurred during the one afternoon of sunshine for the weekend! While we appreciated the gentleman's willingness and expertise to repair the boat quickly, we were still out the time of our short vacation and rental. In figuring out the cost of the boat ($705) and the # of daylight hours it was in our possession, minus those two hours, it is very appropriate of you to reimburse the cost of the gas to us.

Stayed here in June of 2019. Cabin has steps that are falling apart, should get a new deck and also needs a new dock. The permanent bumpers on the dock damaged our boat too. The cabin is 2 levels and every time you do anything you are going up and down steps. For the price the cabin isn't worth it. There are much nicer options in the area and on this lake.

upon arrival found microwave broken - much smaller then expected, tv on lower level only good for DVD, not tv, no table & chairs on lower level as pictured, small doors not good for wheelchair, husband couldn't even stand in shower off kitchen/short ceiling, and worst of all I found several weird bugs in my bed and my arms & upper body loaded with little red spots like tiny bites (bed bugs?) don't know as I have never seen them before. All I did was itch !

This is the second time we have stayed here. It is a nice place with nice ammenities. On our second stay, the kitchen skylight leaked during a heavy rain. It is also for sale and a realtor was showing it when we arrived. Overall we liked the layout, but we won't be staying there again. Besides, it won't probably be for rent anyway.

We had a great time staying at Manning's Lakehouse! It was perfect for our family of 6+ (including a toddler). The property was well-maintained with a huge yard with lots of space to be outside. My son (age 2) was able to play in the water on the sandy bottom beach and my dad caught a 44in musky right off the dock! The weather was perfect, the house was spacey enough that we were not overcrowded and we would definitely recommend this as a location for your next northern getaway.

The house was clean and comfortable. Overall the property is nice with exception of the shore area. The slope to the lake is very gradual but the grass area 15 -20 feet from the pier is pretty wet. The shore is sandy with weeds starting 15 feet from the shoreline. There isn't any swimming area. I had to raise my motor all but out of the water to get to deep water, about 200 yards thru a channel between reeds and lily pads. I consider that a "con". That wasn't clear in the description. I also called Hiller and asked how the shore was and was told it was a sandy beach, but no mention of all the weeds or lack of swimming. The description of all properties should include the condition with photos of the shoreline, good, bad or otherwise, not just the good ones.
