Nearly 7000 square feet of sheer lakefront luxury with 7 bedrooms, 6.5 baths (5 master suites), game rooms, flat screen TV's, endless lake toys, and priceless wide water mountain views! This fenced in, gated property boasts a pointe lot with nearly 600 feet of water frontage and over an acre of hardwood trees adding to the beauty and secluded feel. Crystal clear deep waters encompass our large, oversized, luxury dock with abundant covered and open deck space.
House:Nearly 7000 square feet of luxurious construction planned specifically to be a lakefront paradise. There are 7 spacious bedrooms with 6.5 baths, including 5 master suites. All bedrooms have amazing lake views with almost all of them having private doors opening directly onto decks with spectacular, majestic views of the lake and mountains! Multiple common areas with flat screen TVs as well as game rooms, complete with billiards, shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball, ping pong, skee ball, and other games! Relax on our numerous decks with wide water views down our peaceful cove accented by a breathtaking mountain backdrop!
Land: Our pointe lot boasts nearly 600 feet of waterfront in a peaceful cove but with simultaneous wide water and mountain views. The entire property is fenced and gated for privacy. Furthermore, there are beautiful hardwood trees on the lot, trimmed for unobstructed views of the water but providing you with complete privacy from neighbors.
Waterfront and Dock: The water in this part of the lake is clear....crystal clear! Our dock is massive and luxurious. There is ample covered and open space for everyone. Waters surrounding the dock are deep.
Have kids?: no problem! So do we! You will not find a more kid friendly rental! Fully stocked toy room provides toys for your kids so everyone enjoys their vacation more! Grab one of our fishing rods and let your youngster catch his/her first fish! High chair provided. Take our kiddie pool down to the lake so all ages can enjoy the water!
Indoor entertainment: worried about rainy days? We have you covered! Game rooms with ping pong, shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball, poker/card tables, pool table, and skee ball! Great place for a large group. 13 of us had plenty of room while still being able to be all together.

We had a wonderful getaway with friends to Smith Mountain Lake in December. This is such a large home that accommodates a large group of adults nicely. Lots of living spaces and bathrooms. There definitely seemed to be some new finishes even though this is an older home. Everything seemed clean, tidy, and well kept which is ore important than new. Everything seemed as described on the online listing for booking. Ashley was great to work with and we enjoyed our Wind Vineyards wine she had left us! Neighborhood felt safe and quiet. We look forward to returning to this one!

We had the most amazing time with our group of friends at the Wind Family Estate at Smith Mountain Lake!!! This place was the perfect spot for our getaway. Everyone had their own bedroom that was spacious and provided privacy. Everyone had their own bathroom. Looking around everyone felt like this was the most clean VRBO even though it’s so big! Kitchen and living room were open to each other so we had a great time cooking, drinking, playing music, and hanging out!! Kitchen was very clean and had everything we could have ever needed and probably more. Lots of refrigerator space through the house. The porch was also the next spot perfect for sitting around and enjoying the boats pass and views.
We will definitely be back so hopefully you will have us!! Thanks for the wine!

First, we want to thank Ashley for her hospitality and helpfulness answering all of our questions and giving us recommendations of where to go locally. We were able to easily find the local Kroger and liquor store to stock up for the weekend. We loved the tall ceilings and large rooms which gave us plenty of space for so many in one space. Everything was impressively clean and tidy for us when we arrived. We did have to make the beds that we used when we arrived. Our favorite part was sitting in the deck soaking in the view across the water. Very peaceful cove with a nice view. Kitchen was fully stocked with multiple refrigerators around the house to use. The guys liked the ice maker for their drinks. We were just happy the kitchen was well stocked and everything easy to find. Decor is cute and lake like which made it nice socializing in the common areas. Multiple common areas for gathering for groups to separate as needed. I highly recommending checking out this home at Smith Mountain Lake!

Pictures are not indicative of what the house looks like inside or out. There is brush grown up around waterside you cannot walk to water on the bank. There are several bathrooms with mold and in need of cleaning. The baseboards in the kitchen look like they have not been cleaned in a while. There was food and popcorn under the couch. The washer was full of mold and we had to clean before using.
Hockey table not working, refrigerator in game room leaking water on the floor. Refrigerator in kitchen leaking water on the floor. Beds outdated with thin covers. Only one bedroom has TB. One refrigerator in kitchen not cooling properly. There were multiple lights out and windows broken, unable to open correctly. Propane grill leaks and is a fire hazard and not clean at all, unable to use. Overall place needs some updating and deep cleaning, including decks and outside. We let the owners know 2 weeks ago that we paid for luxury home as listed and felt we overpaid. NOone has tried to contact me or make things right.

We had a wonderful stay at Smith Mountain Lake in October! The views from this home are amazing esp of the mountain. The house is really spacious and everyone enjoyed their own rooms. Looks like some recently added carpet. We were pleased with the cleanliness. The family was happy to gather in such a nice space. Ashley was really helpful. We look forward to returning.

Our family had an amazing stay at Smith Mountain Lake. This home is oversized with plenty of space for everyone in our family. The kids had plenty of space to play while the adults could gather. One of the cleaner lake homes I’ve stayed in. Loved the Mountain View’s and Porch to sit on. The dock had lots of space for everyone to use at the same time. Refreshing getaway with our large family.

Loved the location and dock. The home itself was old, lots of mold. My kids with allergies really struggled my daughter woke up with swollen eyes from the mold. The bathroom’s had visible mold. Toilets and floor were visibly dirty. I wish those who took care of the home had a little more pride in the home. It could be very nice.

We really enjoyed the views from the property. The lake and the dock was great. The inside could need a little more love. There were a lot of things that were partially broken, carpet needs replaced, and many walls need painted. We had a large group, and we had a great time. Many positives about the place. FOr the price that we paid and for the listing as a luxury property, we were a little disappointed. But we had a good time.

We had a great visit to Smith Mountain Lake! The weather was fantastic for April and we spent a lot of time on the water with a boat rental. There were some inconveniences, like the beds not being made and the dishwasher needing to be empty upon leaving that were noticed. The house could use a good deep clean, we had plumbing issues (that were handled), some odd heat/air conditioning struggles, electrical challenges when breakers needed flipping, kayaks needed cleaning before use, etc.. Overall it felt like more work was needed to stay here than we were hoping for in a vacation rental. The pros included the location, space to comfortably fit everyone, well stocked kitchen tools, and spacious porches.

This home is a must-stay if you’re coming to SML!! Excellent for a large family or intergenerational visit in a gorgeous location. Gorgeous lake views from each bedroom! This home is well-designed to take advantage of its incredible location on a quiet cul-de-sac on the southern edge of the lake. As if all this is not enough, the game room with pool table, ping pong, air hockey, shuffle board table and high-top poker table that seats 8 is just THE BEST for fun on sunny or rainy days!

The place could use some sprucing up - mulch/yard clean-up & some dusting of hard to reach (but highly visible) areas. Other than that, the place has an amazing footprint & was a wonderful place to stay.
There was plenty of room to celebrate my hubby's 50th birthday with our dearest friends, & we appreciated that most of the bedrooms were fairly comparable. Almost everyone had their own bathroom, & the two bedrooms that had to "share" a bathroom both had access to the nice, shaded lower-deck area, so they didn't exactly feel "jipped."
The game room was such fun, & it was nice to have two, separate areas for lounging & watching TV in the evening. You could gather together in the common rooms or spread out for some quiet time. The master bedroom & ensuite were spacious & stunning.
Overall, it was a fantastic place to celebrate with friends.

Wonderful Home in a great location. Views are great! Home is spacious and with 18 of us there at one point we had plenty of room without being on top of each other. Layout is great for large groups. Game room is a little cramped but super nice with plenty to do at night or while raining.
Dock is very large and accommodating with room for a large group. Plenty of space for boats (we had two boats and two waverunners)
House needs a little work but over all fantastic.

Amazing views
Spent a week at the lake house during the Christmas Holiday and it was so great! Beautiful lake views, great games for all ages and a great layout for all our families to enjoy time together. The supermarket is a little far so worth going beforehand. Home has 3 fridges and a great pantry! Loved spending time on the decks and the downstairs space was perfect for our 7 year old boys to play with their Christmas gifts and watch movies. Would recommend for big families looking for a great home on the lake. Almost all bedrooms have a lake view

Amazing large house
We had a really fun time together with friends staying in the Wind Family Estate house. We all had our own bathrooms and bedrooms to enjoy and plenty of space for congregating in the kitchen and living room. Very accommodating for our age group and close to everyone’s homes. We look forward to planning another trip here.

Beautiful location
This is a gorgeous location. Perfect view and accommodations for the fall. The weather was awesome for us to gather on the porches and do some hiking. The neighborhood was nice for walking also. I hope the kids will Return to the lake with us next year so we can stay at this large house again.

Great house in a great neighborhood near the dam
We had a great time in this house gathering with our whole family. It was really nice to have the large upstairs and dining room for everyone to hangout and mingle without being on top of one another. We also rented the owners’ other home on the same road and were able to walk back and forth. Great opportunity for our large group! We will definitely be back!

Wow! Our all time favorite spot on SML!
We have been vacationing at Smith Mountain Lake for 13 years and stayed many places along the lake over that time. This home has been our all time favorite. The location on the lake is, in our opinion, the best water for those who love SML for the deep water. The home has to be one of the largest available with 7 large comfortable bedrooms all suitable for mature couples to have plenty of space and privacy. There is also great accommodations for families with kids with the extra beds in some rooms and the large game room. The owners couldn’t be more gracious and easy to work with. It’s been noticeable over the years how they constantly upgrade by adding new decor/furnishings, repairs, and keeping the house pristinely clean, which is much appreciated for those who return like us. We have stayed places that appear very used and never taken care of. My only complaint is that we have to book extremely early because the house gets reserved pretty far in advance. We look forward to our return for another relaxing time!

House in poor repair
The walls of the house were in very poor shape. Many walls looked as if children ran through the house with soot on their hands. Clearly in one area, there had been a ball bounced off the walls many times.
The carpets were stained in many areas. The kitchen cabinets were in very rough shape. Many wall hangings were removed with the nails left as reminders. In the bathrooms, the wallpaper has peeled off the walls. Many wall fixtures were broken.
In short, the house appeared to be very used with little attempt at maintenance. It needs to be painted, carpets replaced, decorations rehung, etc.
The house was obviously once quite grand. The views were phenomenal off the back deck, and the surrounding area is gorgeous.
But for the money we paid, it should have been more.

Annual Family Vacation
This is a beautiful home on a small inlet. Our family of 15 (with 7 teens/preteens) had a great time enjoying water sports and all the game tables all week. Very little TV watching and cell phone use! (Plenty of room for everyone to find a quiet place for relaxing) We will return next year.

Beyond AMAZING
We stayed for my bachelorette party and was beyond amazed at this house ....7 huge rooms all had views and most had there own bathrooms..... all the girls were in awe over this house .... the dock was perfect we took full use of kayaks and paddle boards we also brought a ton of floats (even left a few for future guests) .... the Host of the house Ashley answered with quick response times everytime we needed it .... pretty sure we used every part of the house except the downstairs living room .... was shocked to see the wine celler there and full bar area upstairs with a ice machine (which was soooo useful) 3 full fridges and mini one downstairs ...... wish we could of all stayed for a whole week .... we definitely plan to try and re rent this house in years to come for us to get together because this place was PERFECT we had 16 girls stay and 24 total on sat that came to hang out and never once felt like we were in eachothers way ..... and when I first got there I thought there’s no way we would have enough room for parking and we absolutely had plenty of room (no problems there even with this many people) ..... Also if u have kids that i bring (which we did not) its very kid friendly they have a sandbox, high chair, pack and play, ride on toys, and tons of other stuff...... thanks again so much ashley for sharing this incredible home

We had 15 adults for a family reunion and this house was perfect. It was clean and had plenty of room. The game room was the best I have seen and the dock was great also.

Another amazing week despite the rain
This is our second year staying at the Wind Family Estate and fourth staying at one of the Wind homes. We actually had a rainy week, but this home is so amazing that we made the best of it with the covered deck, covered dock area, and amenities inside. We already booked our week again for next year!
