About this apartment rental
Spacious view apartment that is the ground floor of an occupied private home on quiet dead end street. Watch the ferries go by from the large private view patio with French doors. It's well known that summers in Seattle are incredible but fall and winter storms can be spectacular to watch from The Lookout as they forge their way across Puget Sound. With it's heated floors and covered patio The Lookout is the perfect place to cozy up and watch the Northwest seasons change.
It is a short walk from The Lookout to the following:
- Buses to downtown Seattle
(Easy access to stadiums/arena for Mariners, Sounders, Seahawks & Storm)
- 3 neighborhood restaurants/bakery
- Lincoln Park and outdoor saltwater pool (pool open Memorial Day to Labor Day only)
- Fauntleroy Ferry dock
- Local beach access
Also located in West Seattle within 5 miles of The Lookout:
- Alki Beach - A true beach community with beach volleyball, fire rings, restaurants, great people watching, a passenger ferry to downtown, and the best view of downtown in all Seattle.
- The Alaska Junction - A vast variety of restaurants, brew pubs, deli's, bakeries, and our own Easy Street Records (they sell vinyl and breakfast!)
- The Admiral Junction - Similar to the Alaska Junction but with a flavor all it's own. And a movie theater!
(FYI: these "junctions" are where SW Alaska Street and Admiral Way SW each cross the main West Seattle north-south street, California Ave SW. There is also the smaller, but closer Morgan Junction about 2 miles from The Lookout.)
- Westwood Village Shopping Center -1 mile from The Lookout with a variety of stores (Target, Marshall's), restaurants (Starbucks, Thai, Wings) and other stores for your convenience (QFC, Rite Aid Pharmacy).
Amenities:
- Queen size bed
- Kitchenette (no stove) with sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, coffee maker, & teapot
- Washer & dryer
- Fubo streaming
- Wireless Internet
- Street parking (free but tight)
Apartment is accessed by short garden path and 6 steps down to patio and lawn area.
No smoking inside or out, and no pets.
Seattle is a very progressive recycle-conscious community. Detailed instructions for how to separate waste and receptacles for each type of waste are located in the unit. Thank you in advance for your efforts!

The Lookout is so beautiful. The view is amazing. Such a nice place to stay-great quiet neighborhood.
Kristi is a great hostess. We enjoyed meeting her. And would not hesitate to stay there again if ever back in Seattle.

Wonderful property! The Lookout was clean, quite, comfortable, and had an awesome view of the sound. The host was communicative and responsive. When returning to Seattle I would not stay anywhere else if the Lookout was available. We are so appreciative the hosts have opened their home to share with others! What a treat to experience this wonderful location! The property is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of trees, shrubs, and garden areas and overall felt very serene and safe. We are already looking forward to our next stay at the Lookout!

The Lookout is a lovely unit and very appropriately named. We stayed for 3 nights after an Alaska cruise, so that we could enjoy a little more of Seattle. Location is an easy 20ish min drive to Seattle. The furnishings are comfy. The Lookout is a wonderful cozy place to return to after exploring during the day. Our favorite part of staying here was the spectacular sunsets that can be viewed from the covered patio. Owners are very responsive and easy to communicate with. Hope to get a chance to come back again some day. We have already recommended to friends.

The “Lookout” was perfect for us. We relaxed, walked to a great dinner and then enjoyed some wine as we watched a beautiful sunset! Highly recommend staying at the Lookout.

We had a great time during our stay here! We loved how close it was to everything but was also private. The Lookout had everything we needed for our trip. Great views of the sunset on the patio!

This property was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at. The Sunset in Puget Sound was awesome... Everything was clean and presentable. The amenities were excellent.. My wife and I were more than impressed... However, just a few things for the owners to think about. 1. The curtains on the glass doors need to be full sized to fit the entire glas area and dark enough to allow watching TV in the evenings with the afternoon sun shining in off the bay.. 2. Need a Screen on the bedroom window and no air conditioning. 3. A little larger refrigerator. 4. The toilet water does not shut off all the time when flushed. I found that the chain holding the flapper in the tank was too long and blocking the flapper. 4. Now I know there is nothing the owners can do but the streets were quite narrow and parking was haphazard... Now don't get me wrong even with this little bit of nit picking the rental was absolutely amazing. This is just suggestions not criticisms.

Kristi thank you again for your hospitality and for the lovely space we enjoyed. Our week was so great—even on the hottest day, your space was cool and quiet. Great launching pad for Seattle activities. We would absolutely stay again. ❤️

The property was comfortable and had a gorgeous view. We felt safe didn't have to share our life with neighbors. Only negative was that it wasn't really set up to cook meals in. Great for breakfast and lunch, but luckily we went out with friends for dinners. Everyone should get a reservation at La Rustica in Alki Beach. Not far away and a real find. It was so good we had dinner there two nights. So we didn't miss cooking our own dinners.
The flowers are abundant and beautiful. A very nice VRBO to visit beautiful West Seattle.

I went with my 5 year old for the first time to Seattle for a concert at the Gorge, to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The house had three levels and the unit was at the bottom, nice little walk around the house through a beautiful garden that reveals an amazing view. And the views were truly amazing, and improved daily, as the sky cleared it reveled more and more. The neighborhood was very nice, calm, not too far a drive to the downtown area. The place was super cozy, very home-y, my son loved the books, and playing on the rug in the living room area, I loved laying on the couch and watching tv while having the fantastic view out of the glass doors. It has a nice little covered sitting area outside with the same views, perfect for sitting and enjoying a nice glass of wine (or in my case, a Mike's Harder Lemonade) and taking in the views and weather. The owners do live upstairs and although you can hear them some, it did not affect or bother us at all. They made themselves available and communication was great, answering and addressing all our concerns. I can't say enough good things about them, I left some things behind and they were gracious enough to mail them to me. I would recommend this place and would definitely stay there again if I'm ever back in the area (which I plan to).

EXCELLENT visit. Perfect, quiet location with marvelous view. Highly recommend The Lookout.

We got lucky and the night we arrived it was clear skies so we got to see the gorgeous sunset framed by the Olympic Mountains. (Other two nights were the typical wet, Seattle-gray skies, no mountain views.)
Bed was good and you get a view while laying in it. Kitchenette great for breakfasts and reheating leftovers. Shower had good water pressure.
Really great location. Quiet neighborhood. The place just felt cozy. The garden was in full bloom (spring visit).
Heads up: the owners do live upstairs and, yes, you can hear them. If you're looking for a romantic getaway this isn't the place I would recommend. BUT! If you are like us, visiting a short time, perhaps one of you has a conference to attend then this is soooooooo much better than a hotel. Think of it more like a BnB atmosphere where you get to know the owners a bit (they were wonderful). You don't get breakfast served, but you may end up taking home some bay leaves and rosemary. =)
The no cleaning fee is what made staying here a huge bonus for us. Normally the cleaning fee kills 2-3 night stays at Vrbos because it ends up as expensive as a hotel or at times even more. We were so happy to have had the chance to enjoy our cozy-comfy Vrbo vs. a boring hotel.
I recommend taking the water taxi from Alki beach into Seattle. If you sign up for their app then you get 8000 points which covers a ride one way (by some weird luck or more likely a tech glitch, it covered me both ways.)

From the moment I arrived at this hillside home surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees, I felt at peace. Cannot beat the panoramic view. Watch the ferries come and go from the islands. Comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated.

We really enjoyed our stay at "The Lookout"...morning sunrise lights up the Olympic Peninsula Range in the distance, and simply glorious sunsets!
Very comfy space, and stocked with basics plus ground coffee, a french press (our preference) or coffee maker & creamers in the fridge. Really appreciated the washer/dryer available too!
The street is quiet, and tho you have to negotiate the turn around & parking, there is adequate space to tuck in and park.
Will stay again whenever bodywork training brings me back to West Seattle in the future.
Thanks for sharing this sweet little spot, Kristi & Pat.

Just sit on the patio or, if it’s cold just sit on the sofa with a warm beverage and watch the fantasy world of the puget sound unfold. Your 15 min drive from all the downtown Seattle stuff but it is so so quiet both day and night. We’ll be back. Perfect set up for 2 the kitchen is small but not lacking in one thing. Very well organized space. And the gardens. Take good care of it if you go because I will be back often
Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lookout. The apartment was clean, comfortable, warm, updated, quiet, private, and with a killer view of Puget Sound. The location was convenient to restaurants in Endolyne; it's super close to the Fauntleroy ferry (which we took for a fun night out on Vashon Island); and close to Lincoln park for a fun walk along the beach. The hosts--Kristi and Pat--were super fast on communication and very helpful with their suggestions. We hope to return here on our next visit to West Seattle.

The apartment was extremely cozy, quiet, and very nicely decorated. The pictures don’t show how warm and inviting it is. Very nice touches in the kitchen and living room. Comfortable couches and bed. Plenty of room for two people. Kristi was attentive to my messages. This was a delightful stay.

We had a wonderful experience staying here. Such a cozy and pleasant time. We really enjoyed waking up and relaxing with this great view. I looked forward to getting up and spending some time with my books over some breakfast each day. Property owners maintain this place well keeping it very clean, organized, and stocked. The neighborhood is also very quiet and parking was easy. There’s a nice path that takes you right down to the beach with a bench where I was able to enjoy some more reading. Ferry access was an absolute breeze as the loading pier was just right down the street. We were really happy to be just south of the hustle n bustle of the city as we came from oregon and had more plans out of town. We would definitely stay here again. 10/10!

My partner and I stayed at The Lookout for a long weekend in October. Everything about it met or exceeded the online listing and reviews.
We wanted somewhere quiet and out of the way to relax and recharge. The Lookout was the perfect spot for this. The view was spectacular, and the accommodations cozy, comfortable, and inviting. We wanted for nothing during our stay. The hosts have thoughtfully anticipated guest needs and stocked the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom with a variety of items to make your stay more comfortable.
We used public transportation during our visit and found it easy to walk to the C-Line bus stop to get into the city. The charming neighborhood along the way was an added bonus.
I can't say enough good things about our visit. We hope to return again someday. Thanks Oat and Kristi for opening up your little slice of paradise to others.

Fantastic property! Kristi was so kind and welcoming. There was a beautiful flower arrangement waiting for us on arrival. Her instructions were clear and easy, and she was very accommodating with a late arrival due to a delayed flight. The view from the property is incredible! The property is cozy and comfortable, and met all our needs. The restaurant options around town were great, and close to the property. Definitely a property I’d visit again. Thank you!!

I booked this location for my sister who was visiting the Seattle area from Florida. It was perfect for her to stay on her own. The property was at the end of a very secluded street making her feel very secure. The view from the property was incredible, overlooking the water and the hill on which the property resides. From the perspective of a Floridian, it was not a hill but referred to it as "a mountain" :) The property was clean and well stocked with basic needs. The brief opportunity I had to meet with our host Kristi was wonderful; she was very kind. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone visiting the area.

The mountain and sound views were incredible from the property. The flowers in the yard were gorgeous. The neighborhood is very quiet and relaxing. The property is close to the Vashon Ferry, Lincoln Park and a quick drive to restaurants, shops and grocery stores. The Kristi and Pat were incredibly kind and helpful. We'll be back.
