We loved our time at Villa CocoSol! Our family of six stayed at this property for 3 weeks and we all had so much fun. The beach is just steps away with perfect waves for surfing or boogie boarding. The sand is soft and the beach is clean. We slept so well with plenty of space for everyone and A/C in all of the bedrooms keeping it nice and cool. Esterillos Oeste is the cutest little beach town with all of the amenities you need (restaurants, grocery store etc.) but off the beaten path and away from the crowds. We did multiple day trips to amazing places, Manuel Antonio national park, Nauyaca Waterfall, monkey tours, etc. The property managers there are so incredibly kind and helpful with anything you may need. They both went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable giving us local tips and even bringing us fresh exotic fruit and fish. We feel like we found the perfect place! We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at Villa Cocosol. The house was in a great location close to Emanuel Antonio, zip lining, monkey mangroves and hiking/waterfalls. The house, grounds, pool and beach were great. There were red macaws in the trees outside the house. The caretakers were very helpful that lived on the property. They addressed any needs we had. The owner was also very helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay there again!

The house was amazing, especially the views from the upper deck. As hot as it was the fans on the porch were perfect.
The house was fully equipped and every bedroom had air conditioning that worked well. We shared half our time between the pool and ocean… about 4 hours a day
Overall a perfect place and great communications with our host Jessica. Yeni the caretaker did her best to help out with suggestions for tours and fresh fish.
Wonderful 8 days!!! Highly recommend monkey mangrove tour as well.
Thanks Jessica

We are 3 couples who have stayed in Esterillos Oeste 3 times. This was our first time staying in Villa CocoSol.
The location on the beach and view from this house is spectacular. The pool is a nice size and wonderful location in front of the beach house, with a view of the ocean.
We loved relaxing in the rancho or on the new upper balcony, with coffee in the morning or cocktail in the evening.
The beach house is very comfortable with everything we needed.
The care takers Yeni and Mendoza were very friendly and helpful. They also prepared a freshly caught fish meal for us that was delicious.
Jessica (the owner) was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any questions before and during our vacation. She helped us arrange transportation to and from the airport. She even found someone to purchase and stock the kitchen with some groceries for us, since our plane arrived very late at night.
We had a small issue with the dryer while we were there and as I have heard said when renting a property…. It’s not that an issue occurs, it is how it is dealt with.
She did everything she could to get it repaired as quickly as possible.
We had a wonderful vacation at Villa CocoSol and we hope to return next year, it is a beautiful spot!

Great location on quiet beach
This house worked well for our needs. It is not fancy but was clean and as advertised. It is in a small town that felt less touristy, which is what we wanted. The local property managers were terrific and very responsive to any questions we had. Wifi in the area can be spotty.

Perfect Getaway
This area is definitely ‘old’ Costa Rica. We loved the simplicity and beautiful scenery. The pool & property were perfect for our large group. The WiFi was really unreliable, but overall it was a great experience.

Unbelievably perfect!
Clean, beautiful, easy. There was 24hr help from the property management group. Literally, within minutes we either had an answer or someone at the house to help in person. The property is immaculate & stocked with whatever you need- other than food. The supermarket & restaurants are walking distance & have everything necessary. The house location is quiet & at a perfect distance from the day trippers further down the road on the beach. We are looking forward to returning to this perfect paradise.

All Bases Covered!
We were a large party of 8, a mix of teenagers and middle age adults (lol I’m describing myself!). So you can imagine we had different needs and this place covered all the bases for us.
Felipe was super organized and friendly from the start. He met us at a close location, and then we followed him to the house. It had everything we imagined and was the perfect place for all our needs.
The kids loved the clean pool (we watched them clean it on Wednesday - refilling it with new water ...and it wasn’t even dirty!) and the super easy access to the beach. The adults enjoyed access to the shaded BBQ area with bar style chairs ...given the scorching heat this year, it was nice to be in the shade and yet still outside with seatings.
Super easy access to grocery store nearby (with hungry teenagers we would have been broke if not for the kitchen with all the right tools to cook many of the meals).
Would suggest you rent a car ...can’t imagine getting around without one. Groceries would be approx 15-20 walk, and in the heat its a bit of a challenge. If walking, Best to do any errands before 7 am otherwise you’ll be nice and melted.
We’re right off the highway, so it’s easy to drive to Jaco, only 18 min drive and super easy to Manuel Antonio Park (only 50 min). Would suggest you book online for a tour guide for the Park if you want to see Sloths or Monkeys...it would have been impossible to find them in that jungle without the help of a guide.
If you didn’t want to cook, you won’t be lacking in finding restaurants around you ...but keep in mind the Rancho Hotel is the only decent one for breakfast in walking distance. Many of the restaurants are open at 12 pm, unless they’re specifically advertise for breakfast. We showed up to restaurant one day thinking it was open for lunch at 11 :30 am, but they were very strict on opening at noon.
The main laundry machine had broken down but we were supplied with laundry service... At some point I think I forgot how clean towels looked like and requested them washed ...and found them washed/ dried/ folded by the lovely caretaker lady that lived behind the property.
Place feels very secure with caretakers living at the back, padlock gate and multiple doors with locks, plus a ADT security system. Still, you’re in Costa Rica so always keep your passports with you.
I would definitely rebook this place for my next trip.

Good beachfront location
Stayed 2 weeks with 3 couples. Great beachfront location away from the touristy parts of CR, but close to Manual Antonio, Nacuya waterfall & Jaco for fun day trips. The place has a nice pool, outdoor BBQ and shelter to relax in. Great beach walks, boogie-boarding and sunsets. Interior furnishings/decor a bit tired, and beware: no A/C on the main floor, thus very uncomfortable during the hot, humid temps here. Management team and on-site caretakers are excellent and super responsive. Surprisingly good walk-to restaurants & convenience store nearby.

Paradise
This house was perfect for 5 adults. Plenty of comfortable beds, bathrooms, sitting areas., dishes and kitchen utensils. The property was secure and very well maintained by the charming caretakers. It was a delight to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and wake up to the sounds of birds. So many decisions..... do I swim in the pool, relax in the hammock, play in the ocean, walk to the local restaurants for a delicious meal? It’s all there. And so close to national parks with various tours and hikes. I’m still dreaming of those sunsets.....

AMAZING
We had such an amazing time!! Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. I could not be happier with the staff or the house. It was so much more than the pictures portray. We frequently visit Costa Rica and this is by far the most beautiful place we have stayed. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Esterillos Oeste with a larger group. Plenty of space!

Steps from the beach!
The location is perfect! Quiet, but right on the beach. There is a great little town within a short walk. People are friendly and the culture is very laid back. You can do as much or as little as you want. Close to National Parks. Property managers can help you with bike rental, surf board rental, tours, etc.

Peaceful beachfront oasis
Had such a great time staying at this beachfront property. There was everything you need and more. It was nice to have outdoor living space to enjoy the wildlife and views. The A/C in the bedrooms were a necessity to sleep. The caretakers on the property were kind and the property managers responsive.

Amazing house on a perfect beach
We stayed here for 10 days with my family and had a great time. The house has everything you need and more. Pool is awesome and the beach is right out front. It is located in a small fishing town with friendly locals. Close to jaco if you need anything but far enough away to feel like you are in old, unspoiled Costa Rica. Communication is awesome and Filepe was quick to respond to my concerns. There is good surf right out front and chances are you will be in the line up alone. A little walk to the north will provide some a-frames with more people out if your interested. All in all it was one of the best places I've stayed in during my 25 years of travel to Costa Rica. Book it.

The Trasmallo property was excellent. Clean. AC in all rooms. Great pool with outside shower.
We recommend this house.

Great place for a family
Our three generations, ranging in age from 8 to mid seventies, all tremendously enjoyed this place. Has all of the essential comforts without needless glitzy luxury of many tourist spots. Each room with new, quiet, air conditioner or option of open windows and fans; well-equipped kitchen which even has sharp cooking knives and good cutting boards [no dishwasher if that matters to you, but good clothes washer and dryer and plenty of water, including 5-gallon dispenser for easily available drinking water jugs]; constant sea breeze; outdoor layout better than you can tell from the current photos: good places to sit outside even if it rains; wonderful roomy pool for kids and adults, next to spacious and always shady ranchito with large picnic table and room for extra hammocks; a separate grilling area with beautiful long wooden serving table; plenty of chairs inside and out; spacious lawn between front porch and front wall with lockable gate, which increases security and privacy while allowing full view of ocean across the dead-end access road with little traffic; friendly nearby small supermarket, well supplied; remarkably good local restaurants within walking distance; few, mainly Costa Rican, vacationers and local people on beach and road; secure due to distance from main road, tasteful solid bars over open windows, and general layout + modern security system + caretakers’ presence when you leave; vegetation attracts macaws and other birds, and situation of house makes even nearest neighbors unnoticeable; tide pools at far end of beach make for good snorkeling at low tide; long beautiful beach great for biking and running. This is one of the nicest places we have found during nearly 40 years of life and family vacations in Costa Rica. The managers, Kate and Dave, were very responsive and helpful. The VRBO/HomeAway communications could be improved – I did not like the threatening automated messages issued well before the second payment was due, implying that the reservation was not secure.

Beautiful, simple, and fulfilling!
My four friends and I rented Casa Trasmallo to escape from the noise and stresses in the city. It surely did not disappoint. The beach was empty, very calm and relaxing... and only steps away from the house and the beautifully cared for grounds. The property managers were personable and very prompt with information, payment and greeting us there. In fact, they remained available for questions regarding the area, etc. We will continue to rent Casa Trasmallo for sure!!

Relaxing stay within steps of the beach!
We loved our stay at this charming Tico style beach house steps from the beach! There is a mini supermarket within 1000 meters and fresh fish sold by vendors nearby!
Everything one needs to cook and relax poolside is available, even drinking water( sorry we're a family of water guzzlers!)!

Best getaway
This charming house had it all.Clean, secure, all the kitchen amenities, pool, and right across from the beach. Loved the little town it was in. Best restaurant we found in the country. The caretakers are so sweet and genuine and took great care of us. All the bedrooms had individual air conditioning units and it even had a washer and dryer. Couldn't have asked for anything more...3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, cable TV , front porch where we hung out and watched a beautiful lightning storm one nite. We helped some locals push their boat out to sea and were able to see their amazing catch when the boat came back in.. fresh lobsters and crab! Wished we could have stayed here our entire time in Costa Rica. Close to Manuel Antonio and not far from San Jose. Would definitely recommend this to anyone! Thanks to Mike for taking us to the surf board rental guy right down the road and meeting us on the Highway to escort us to Trasmallo. Will defintiely return and stay here if we can ever get back to Costa Rica.

Great vacation spot
We had a group of 6 from Canada..we had a fantastic time. The house was everything we needed. The local restaurants were great. Food was awesome. Lidia and Marcus were great keepers of the property. We had a local fisherman take the guys out fishing and then cooked all the fish for us over the BBQ. Big thank you to Mike and Martha. They met us the Friday and took us over to the house. Great people. Lewis ended up hiring a local band and DJ that had the us rocking on the Wednesday night. We invited some our new friends from the area and had a great time. The cabana worked wonders during the bit of rain we had that night. Everyone brought a dish and we had a great feast. I'm sure everyone will remember us for quite sometime. If you want a great place to go with great food and an awesome pool...go to Trasmallo...thanks Kate and Dave for all your emails and getting us all set up for our stay...cheers from Larry, Christine, Lewis, Debbie, Tracey and Sharon

Great hosts and perfect location
We had a great family vacation at this awesome place. The house has everything including a great pool and cabana. The beach is directly across the street and the house is within walking distance to rent surf boards, walk the beach and a grocery store and restaurant in the quant village. David and Kate were able to get a crib for us as well and the AC in the bedrooms was a nice touch.
The house is better than the pictures and David and Kate were professional and friendly. When we go back this will be the place we stay.

Great vacation!
My family stayed here and had a wonderful time. We spent a lot of time in the pool and at the beach. We loved seeing the macaws fly over the house every day. We also saw a sloth.
The house is located near the end of a quiet road so there isn't much traffic. There are several bedrooms to choose from and even one downstairs so my mother-in-law didn't have to climb the stairs. We loved grilling outside but we also enjoyed eating out on those nights we were too tired to cook. Los Almendros has wonderful food!
The most difficult decision we had all week was whether to go swimming in the pool first or the ocean first. It was nice being able to boogie board right out front of the house.
When we were making our reservations the property managers were very helpful and answered all our questions. They helped us make reservations to go on the zipline and horseback riding. We also took a boat to Tortuga Island one day that was a lot of fun. One day the guys went fishing with a local fisherman and caught fish for our dinner. We were able to grill it on the BBQ and it was delicious!
We will definitely be back with the rest of our family. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
