About this apartment rental

Our spectacular beach property is 'On The Sand,' offering its own private beach while providing white water views and soothing ocean sounds (you hear the surf in every room). It has a bright beachy decor and a quiet location - conveniently located halfway between the Village in Carlsbad and the Pier in Oceanside (we walk on the sand to both).

This completely renovated home is fully furnished (we relax here frequently) and offers sweeping ocean views from La Jolla to Catalina. You can watch the dolphins play or the whales spout from the living room, deck, or beach.

At night, visit one of the area's fine restaurants or simply dine on the beach while watching the beautiful sun set over the Pacific. During the day, relax on the beach or enjoy the numerous activities that are unique to this fabulous destination.

This listing is for UNIT A.

UNIT A (sleeps 1 to 6): Has 2 bedrooms & 1 bathroom and has a California king size bed in each of the bedrooms and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

There are 3 different units. Unit A (2 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 6), Unit B (2 Bd, 2 Ba - sleeps 6), and Unit C (1 Bd, 1 Ba - sleeps 4). Unit B is VRBO #882234, Unit C is VRBO #253036, and all 3 units are VRBO #882235.

The units are vertically arranged with Unit A at the street level, Unit B in the middle, and Unit C at the sand level. All 3 units face the ocean, have oceanfront decks, and share the private beach.

Our beach house is 'well cared for' since we personally (as well as our family) stay in all 3 units, and we do have wireless broadband internet access. Over the years, we have had 100s of delighted beach loving guests.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It was beautiful. Exactly as advertised, the kids enjoyed playing in the sand. We enjoyed watching the tide change. When tide was low we were able to go down on the beach and play in the water. The beds are very comfortable. Kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking ware to make your meals. Kelly was very kind. We cant wait to book again and back to make some more memories!

The place is in an absolutely beautiful location, with a stunning view of the ocean. Access to the beach is convenient and everything we needed was just a short walk away. We were able to enjoy the downtown area as well as different restaurants in the area. The house was clean and welcoming. Our host and hostess were very friendly and made our stay feel like home.

The unit was very clean and as described. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies and spices. Unit A also has an amazing view of the ocean from the balcony. Great place to stay!

We stayed here for a couple days after going to Disneyland. It is an older property so expect what comes with that, but it is well kept and the view is absolutely breathtaking! You can’t really play in the water expect early in the morning until about 9:30 when high tide comes in. But that wasn’t an issue for us, we woke up early and walked the beach to find shells and our girls really enjoyed playing in the sand during the day when the water was to high. We absolutely loved our time here and did not want to leave. We will definitely be back! 😊 **don’t forget coins! The laundry is coin operated. Also I would bring your own beach towels we weren’t able to find any in the unit!

The house was a great place for a family to stay. The view was beautiful. It was very clean and had everything you need for a extended stay. It was close to Legoland and the oceanside harbor with great restaurants. My only complaint was in the picture it shows a large beach but when we were there the water was up against the fence so we were unable to walk the beach. Loved the house would come back again.

Great location with surfing nearby. Just had to walk a few blocks to the beach since even at low tide there was no beach exposed behind this property. Views were great.Property was nice & had everything we needed. Would definitely come back.

Lovely beach house with cottage like feel. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen. Incredible Ocean views! We had the top floor unit with lots of daylight. Beautiful sunsets. Would definitely rent again. Excellent communication with owner.

The view of the ocean is stunning! The tide changes are significant and impressive to watch off of the back deck. Unfortunately, this property is fairly old and was not very clean, especially the floors. The owner was responsive and apologetic about the cleanliness, however more oversite to the cleaning should have taken place.

Loved the views, the location and fit everybody comfortably. Photos can be misleading as you can not enjoy the ocean until low tide. Coin op washer and dryer is a little ridiculous.

We arrived the evening of Sept 9th. It was unusually warm in Oceanside and our unit was on the top floor, therefore it was pretty warm inside. Once we got in, opened the doors, and let the ocean breeze in it was just fine. This rental is right on the beach! Nice, fenced yard with steps down to the water, but we spent all our time on the balcony. There was a table and chairs as well as 2 lounge chairs to spend your day watching and listening to the ocean. Fans are furnished to move the air thru the house. We were quite comfortable. Each bedroom has a king bed with nice linens. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware and utensils. Just bring your food and snacks!😊 The street is narrow, but we never had an issue with parking. This place is SUPER easy to get to and Oceanside is very easy to get around in! We'll definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The best place in Oceanside to experience the ocean 24/7. Relaxing, comfortable and the location-great. Every amentity you can think of is provided for you. The owner is very friendly and available anytime. The only place we would stay in Oceanside.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The views of the ocean are amazing. The deck was very spacious and a great place to watch surfers, dolfins, and the waves. The time we were there (March), the weather was cooler, and the water was all the way up to the rock wall, so we did not have a beach to walk on. However, I would definitely come back here again and bring our kids. The fenced in beach back yard is perfect for kids to play in and the beach would be amazing when the water level is lower. Safe, easy access, we had the parking spot, and there is a short walk to Buccaneer cafe for coffee and food. Owner was there cleaning the debris from the back yard and very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great place!

We are so grateful that we were able to stay in this beautiful home. Each morning we were greeted by the ocean waves and huge pods of Dolphins, swimming back and forth. We spent most of our time on the patio watching the ocean, drinking coffee, and playing cards. The beds were comfortable and we were put to sleep each night by the waves crashing outside our windows. We had all the blankets and pillows we needed plus extras. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make meals each day. The location of the property is wonderful. We were able to walk to most places or have a 3–10-minute drive to get to where we wanted to go. We had stayed at Legoland before staying here and it was only a 15-minute drive. The communication with the host was perfect and we had everything we needed for our stay. Kelley did a good job at having most of the common questions already included in the information about the property. The only thing I would say was disappointing was the tide. We are from Arizona and were completely clueless around the fact that the sandy beach pictures shown in the photos only occur during specific times of the year. We anticipated spending our days in the sand on the beach, but unfortunately the tide was so high there was only a small window where it was even safe enough to go down by the water. Overall, our experience was amazing and we look forward to coming back in the summer months!

It was off season but parking was easy. The location is great. Checking in and out was easy. Good communication with owners. It rained everyday we were there but we still enjoyed our visit and ate at some great local restaurants.

When we arrived the temperature inside was over 90 degrees. All the windows were closed, you would think someone would have come by and at least opened the windows to let the ocean breases blow throughbefore we arrived. The place was very tired and needed a facelift big time. Refrigerater was old and dirty. Dishes looked like they were just rinsed off and we had to wash everthing before we used it. The floor was sandy and the bottom of our feet and socks would end up black. We spoke to the owner and she just made excuses.. We asked for a rebate and she offered $100. We asked to at least return our cleaning deposit and have not heard back nor have I received any refund. Would not recommend.

This location is amazing and the host is wonderful and easy to communicate with and very responsive (we had no issues, just a couple of questions). I have stayed in other Oceanside properties and this one beats them all as the beachfronts in Oceanside are often on the rock wall and so there is nowhere to 'hang' but this place with it's sandy front yard right on the beach gives you everything you need for a bunch of friends or a family with kids. Just be aware that there is no AC (huge fans are provided for each room). Normally that would be fine except we were there for a heatwave and it was unbearable for a few days. That said, almost no apartments in OS have AC as it's not normally needed. Thanks to the hosts. We loved our stay there!

Beautiful view from our room which was the top/street level. The private fenced in yard with sand was perfect for our grandsons 1 and 3 years old. The fire pit and bbq grill was also a great addition to our stay. We will definitely go back !!

We've enjoyed our week here, the property has everything you need for your vacation. They have some games for the family, as well as puzzles, and all of the kitchen equipment you would need. Some advice, get some hooks. It would make hanging towels and beach clothes up a lot better. Other than that, all good. Loved it.

Our first VRBO experience and it was A+. The home was very clean(I’m a total germophobe) I never felt uneasy about the cleanliness at all from the balcony furniture to the inside furniture and linens. The view was amazing! We could watch surfers all day and even saw a couple dolphins. We were walking distance to a few food places and a short car ride to many. We didn’t use the yard at all but could see the folks on the other levels outside most of the days so I’m certain it was nice there too. All in all we had a fabulous few days away.

Location can't get much better in Oceanside. The beach is still rocky but you do have a window during low tide when it's fabulous. So so convenient to have beach just outside the door!! Condo is a bit dated but well maintained. TV was dying and a new one was delivered the next day! Great communication!! Kitchen is a bit sparse, fridge is on its last legs, but everything works fine. Would have liked beach towels to be available, so bring your own. It's a perfect place for the price point!

We had a great time at this house. The views from the unit are amazing (we were A/top/level3, but the views from the decks below were great too). The beach access was amazing, and the sand “yard” at the back was fantastic. We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit a couple nights and grilled out as well. Each Koenig we strolled on the beach at low tide, and enjoyed the sound of the surf each night. The unit itself was ver spacious and comfy with plenty of kitchenware to eat-in most meals. The location was super confident for all our outings.
