We had an amazing stay at this beautiful house on the farm. The house itself was really nice and exceptionally clean, with all the amenities you could need. It was a delight to be on a farm with hiking trails and friendly animals – a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. The host was incredibly nice and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and comfortable getaway!

Property was perfect for our family with plenty of outdoor areas and still convenient to go to town for restaurants and other activities. Owners were very easy to work with and went above and beyond getting something back to us that we had forgotten! Would definitely recommend staying here for a nice relaxing trip to Asheville area!

We spent fall break with our two teenage boys here and had a lovely time. The surroundings were lovely with the fall colors changing! Enjoyed the private hiking trails and the walk to the farm to feed the sheep. Close enough to explore all of Asheville with ease. The house was clean, well furnished, and we found it to be just as advertised. Would love to stay here again!

Leave the traffic and concrete behind and enjoy the views of the rolling pastures while having a cup of coffee on the front porch. The location and house were exactly what I wanted to run away to. It is a cozy, little gem tucked into the woods on a much larger farm full of livestock, pastures, a lake and hiking trails. There were personal touches in the house from little chocolates to a gift of eggs from their chickens that made the check in experience a welcoming one. You could find plenty to do on the property during a short stay, but I did venture out to a couple of breweries in Fairview. Both had excellent offerings, and both were dog friendly. Elaina was quick to respond and was very attentive when I had a couple of questions during my stay. I would love to visit again during the fall season!

Wonderful mountain home & love the farm
We spent a week here with our 1.5 year old daughter and dog enjoying the mountains. It was fun to explore the farm - hiking trails, feed the sheep, and enjoy the views. We got an exceptional view of the full moon rising over the mountains from the front deck which was a nice surprise! The home seems older, but was well kept and very clean throughout. The bed was soft and comfy, the AC worked very well in the hot summer days, and we appreciated having coffee and sheep food provided. And the Amish store nearby - super tasty sandwiches, cinnamon buns, and cookies! The owner was friendly and responsive to all of my questions. We really appreciate being able to bring our dog with us on vacation too. My only small quibble is that the cleaning crew showed up in the driveway at 9:45, felt like they were pressuring us to get out of there which I did not appreciate. It was a great stay all in all though.

Fun & Relaxation
Our family had a really nice time here. The view was beautiful and our kids loved feeding the sheep. We loved being close enough to downtown Asheville without being in the hustle and bustle. Overall a really nice stay!

Perfect
We loved our stay here. It's peaceful and beautiful surroundings. We are close to Asheville and surrounding areas. The home was clean and smelled good upon arrival. The home is small but is perfect for our family if 4. I would definitely recommend if you want a peaceful area to relax.

Family Getaway
The house was not the most polished place we've ever stayed but the property more than made up for it. We had a blast with our toddler and 9mo exploring the hiking trails, fishing in the pond, feeding sheep, and walking to the Amish store to get cinnamon rolls. The house was warm and had kitchen essentials and Netflix for down time.

Great Get-Away
This was a lovely stay. The house is nice and in a beautiful, quiet location. The hiking trails on the property were great and allowed us to get out in the woods in the morning even if when we went into town in the afternoon. The host is responsive and very helpful. We had a great time and would recommend a stay here to anyone looking to relax.

First time but not the last!
This was our first trip to Asheville. We wanted something quiet and a little secluded. The property manager couldn't have been better with the communication and answering all of my questions. The farm is really cute and our son got to visit the sheep 🙂.
Would highly recommend!

Peace and quiet
This property isn’t flashy in appearance or amenities but it is so very peaceful and that is more valuable than the external beauty. There was some confusion initially with the property manager due to some changes being made, but the new manager was very responsive and quick to resolve our issues. We had a delightful stay and appreciated the beauty of the area.

April 2021 Stay
The property was pet-friendly and the location was great. Virtually all the places we ate in downtown Asheville or Haywood Ave were within a 20-minute drive. Chimney Rock was 35ish minutes away, Biltmore was 25 minutes, and the Blue Ridge Parkway was < 10 minutes from the house.

If you’re going to advertise yourself as a goat farm and agritourism, you should let people know that you have NO ANIMALS part of the year! It was the reason we chose this house. My daughter cried when we got there and found out they had no animals. Also, the house looks good in the photos but there’s a lot of shoddy workmanship. And the kitchen was not adequately stocked. Only 3 bowls. Pretty inconvenient for a family of 4. I ate cereal out of a pot all week. Would not stay here again or recommend it.

I was a little disappointed that the goats were no longer there. Didn't seem to be a "farm" anymore.
Didn't seem to be a "farm" anymore. Checkout is at 10am and there seems to be no leeway. There was a guy sitting outside in his car at 9:30 am waiting for me to leave. Which is fine. It's their place, their rules. Great location, quiet, peaceful. If you're into hiking it's close to Chimney Rock / Lake Lure and many other places.

Beautiful property
Great house with beautiful Mountain View’s. House was very clean with nice furnishings. It had everything we needed. Brandy was a pleasure to work with and I appreciate her checking on us. I hope I get a chance to visit again soon.

Great location! Beautiful Views
We stayed the week of Christmas. We were disappointed that the area around seemed to shut down for Christmas and the goats were on their own holiday. Had issues with electrical outlets and refrigerator that the Owners were very quick to fix. Loved the homeyness of the house. Very comfortable. I think we would re-book just a different time of year.

Peaceful mini vacation
What a peaceful, quiet place to get away from it all-and only a 15 minute drive into Asheville. While we did not have the best weather, we enjoyed our stay in the country. We loved meeting the goats and enjoyed the view of the pasture, pond, and mountains in the distance.

Charming, perfect getaway!
A charming and comfortable setting. It was perfect for getting away but close enough to Ashville to enjoy great restaurants, Biltmore and the amazing mountains. I hope I can return next year!

Wonderful!
We stayed at Chuck and Sarah's gate house for one week, with our two kids. It was really peaceful and beautiful. The kids loved visiting the goats, and Chuck and Sarah's dog, Panda! They had such a good time walking around on the property! We spent our time exploring lots of little towns around the Asheville area, and this place was perfectly situated, and allowed us to do this easily. We have visited Asheville many times before, and this was definitely our favorite of the places we have stayed. Hopefully, we will make it back there soon! Highly recommend!

Quaint, cozy quiet and beautiful.
Easily accessible to area attractions, great host and hostess. Comfortable and spacious, quaint and cozy.... stocked well and great if you have dogs, because of fenced area of the cottage. Loved the farm and pond to relax by, and meeting the goats ..Looking forward to another visit to Moore's Pond farm🐐🐐..

Beautiful and very peaceful .
We had a wonderful relaxing time at this property. It was the second time for us to stay at this location. Both times the owners were very friendly and provided our family with charming homes to enjoy our family vacation.

Lovely accommodation, lovely area and hosts
We have just spent five days at the Gate House at Moore's Pond Farm with our dog. The cottage is clean, with all the comforts of home, great Internet, A/C, loads of hot water, great dishwasher, washer and dryer, nice furniture etc. Wonderful, colorful, fresh eggs on our arrival!
The farm is lovely, the walk to the Amish Market is short and beautiful, the ducks, goats, cat and llama charming, and the owners, Chuck and Sarah, very friendly, helpful and charming also!
Very easy drive into Asheville or over to Lake Lure. Will definitely stay again.

wonderful house in great location
We had a great stay (of 9 nights) at Moores Pond, with our two little kids. Sarah and Chuck were very welcoming! The layout of the house is great, the beds are comfy, and the kitchen is a good size and well stocked. We enjoyed exploring the area, and our older son enjoyed feeding the chickens our extra bread each night. Thank you!

We loved the goats!
Well kept property and Chuck and Sarah were very generous with their time and patient as we fumble milked their 2 does. Being next door to an Almish Market was a real bonus.

Absolutely amazing experience
We spent almost a week here while we explored the area for a future move. The house is very well stocked if you want to cook and close to all of the Asheville attractions if you want to go out. Chuck and Sarah go above and beyond to make this feel like your home away from home. The goats and Llama were also great along with their new pup Panda. Can't wait to visit again.

Great rural setting
The house was perfect for us. The property includes some nice wooded hiking trails. It is just a short walk over to Troyer's Amish Market that has a nice selection of groceries and great sandwiches. Fun to watch the goats and their guard Llama "Velvet" out in the pasture. No cell coverage at the house for our carrier, but not a problem because there is wifi so we just set our phones to wifi calling.

Enjoyable stay in a nice property.
Property was very nice. Remote enough to enjoy some peace and quiet but close enough to Asheville to enjoy the city. The goats were a huge hit! We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place Ideal location
The gate house at Moore's Pond was a lovely location for our family long weekend retreat.
The view out the window and from the porch was pleasant. The beds were super comfortable.
The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped.
The trails up the hill were a bonus and gave me a good place to stretch my legs in the morning.
The tinkling of goat bells and the presence of the llama created a most memorable experience.
The hosts, Chuck and Sarah, enjoyed showing us their goat operation and the goats were the most friendly I have ever met.
Asheville is a short drive away, but the rural atmosphere at Moore's pond feels much farther away.

Relaxed and peaceful but still very close to Asheville
We loved our visit to the farm!! This place is our ideal vacation rental: remote, quiet and has space to let our dogs run free, but also close to outdoor activities and Asheville. We spent 3 full days at this cottage and hiked the trails every day. We were welcomed with fresh eggs which were delicious, and found everything we needed for meals at home in the cottage (plus a highchair which was helpful since we have a baby). Visiting the goats and llama was fun, although I didn't manage to pet the llama despite my best efforts. The sandwiches at the Amish market were so tasty! We stocked up on all kinds of things there to get us by during our visit. We brought our bikes and rode on a paved trail near the Biltmore, and visited a couple of state parks and national forests in the area. The cottage is perfectly located for easy access to all of the places we wanted to explore. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Lovely and very well stocked cottage
We stayed at number 7 and it was very pleasant. We were 2 adults and 4 kids - needless to say the kids loved the farm and especially my 8 years old son couldn't get enough of the goats, he literally spent hours with them. The weather was really very cold, we did a short hike near by and visited Asheville. Our total stay was 3 nights and the place was conveniently located and reasonably priced so it worked well for us.
The only things that would need improvement in my opinion -
The house advertised to sleep 6 - which would include 2 on the sleeper sofa - that mattress his terrible, even when we took it off the platform and set in on the floor all you can feel was springs in your back, its really uncomfortable and probably should be replaced with a better alternative or list the house as suitable for 4. Also the the bathroom was cold and it could use a large rug to warm up the place and be more inviting in cold weather. Otherwise, our stay was very pleasant. Thank you again to our hosts.

Our family of 4 loved staying in The Gate House. The house had an amazingly equipped kitchen with all of the comforts and amenities of home. Chuck and Sarah were very nice, informative and great teachers of goat life. Sarah was patient in teaching our entire family how to milk the goats, which the kids did quite frequently. The barn was just a short 5 minute walk. We spent a lot of time there sitting on the dock with all of the goats. They would continuously nudge us until we pet them or just lay at our feet like our dog. The kids loved it!!! Velvet the llama was a huge hit too. We also enjoyed walking to the Amish market for their baked goodies. The location was very convenient. We were surprised at how quick the drive into Asheville was yet we felt far in the country. It was also a quick drive to many great hikes. We hope to visit Moores Pond again soon.

I wanted a little R&R and invited my family to join me for the first 2 days. My 6-year-old niece loved this house. She picked it out because of the farm. She enjoyed feeding Pee Wee and seeing the other goats. The farm fresh eggs that Sarah welcomed us with were absolutely delicious. We were close to other local farms which we toured as well. The home is in a fantastic location and to my surprise, it was not that far from downtown Asheville. I usually stay in downtown Asheville, however, I was less than 15 minutes away. I was also close to Biltmore as well. We will definately stay here again. My dog loved it too.

Very secluded and quiet getaway but 20 minutes from Ashville and Biltmore. Other reviewers commented on the property being close to a shooting range and you could hear shots during the daytime while outside, didn't notice it so much while inside the house. The house, furnishings were nice and comfortable--beds were really comfortable. Enjoyed meeting Sarah and Chuck and all of the goats (especially Peewee) and the Llama. We were greeted with a basket of fresh farm eggs, but we didn't cook breakfast while there--very nice though! We spent one day driving to Cherokee and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway--best part of our weekend! Will definitely stay here again when we plan another trip to Asheville.

We had a wonderful stay at Moore's Pond Farm! We were there for the USA Cycling National Cyclocross Championship held at the Biltmore Estate. The Farm cottage was in a good location, easy to get to the race. We loved the pretty lights showing us the way when we arrived late at night. We didn't have much time for exploring, but did visit the nice little Amish grocery store and had a quick walkabout to see the goats, chickens and llamas. The cottage had everything we needed and we were even able to catch a little of the GB Packer game! Go Pack! Thanks for a great weekend in a beautiful setting :)

We spend the Christmas holidays at a quiet and peaceful home on a small mountain side (we're flat landers). It was about fifteen minutes away from the Biltmore Village and the Biltmore estate. Another two miles you are in the center of Asheville and all the excitement that happens in that interesting city.
This home was spacious enough for extended family to stay. We celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas day together with family from Tennessee and Asheville. We had the opportunity to bring our dog and her favorite spot was sitting at the front door looking out at the field and mountains. We spent most of our time in Asheville, but did see one morning the goats grazing in the field across from the house. Since it was very rainy, we did not get the opportunity to explore the rest of the property at this time.
The owners had stocked the shelves with dishes/pots/pans/towels/and many more amenities that you would find in your own kitchen. We would recommend this place for those who have small families, dogs, and love to live in the outskirts of a busy city. Its a great place to regroup and take in the beautiful scenery.
