Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park: In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson set aside 6000 acres (within what is now Acadia National Park) as Sieur de Monts National Monument. With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the parks name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Great property! Loved having two dwellings because our dogs can be unruly around other humans. We stayed in the apartment while my brothers family and our mom stayed in the main house. The house was great. There is no tub, which was hard with a 2-year-old. The apartment was ok. A fruit fly infestation in the apartment made drinking red wine impossible, unless you like a little protein in your drink. The owner, Josh, was amazing! Very helpful and friendly. Responded quickly when an AC unit malfunctioned in the main house. Loved the pontoon boat! Highly recommend renting the pontoon boat if you stay!!

Definitely would rent this property again.

Enjoyed the accommodation and the lake was great.

We had another great week in Maine at one of Josh Greer’s properties. The two houses have everything we need for our families to have a great week. We have been renting from Josh for several years and he takes care of all the things we need to make the week very enjoyable.

We’ve stayed at this property for six years in a a row and seven overall at Chemo. It’s always a fun-filled time with family and close friends. Peaceful Place is well maintained and affords all the amenities our family and friends need to enjoy the week. Add a pontoon and everyone’s happy!!!

Everything was great. Some issues popped up that the owner fixed the same day. Very slight drawback was the so very early checkout time (9:00) was a bit tricky with the younger kids.

We had our children and grand children meet us for a week get together. Plenty of room for the 3 families. We all enjoyed the property, views and all the lake activities. Would definitely rent this one again if we go back.

This property fit our family perfectly! Everything you need is right at your fingertips. When I contacted the owner with a request, he was quick to respond and eager to meet any need.
We loved the kayaks, paddle board, and canoe! The deck overlooking the pond was absolutely breathtaking! The house was so clean! The owner has notes that help you know the expectations for the property which I loved.
One thing that might help a family to know: the queen bedroom upstairs in the main house is bigger than the queen bedroom at the smaller house. But they are both very roomy.

Amazing property! Lots of places to sleep. Plenty of room. Beautiful views. Amazing get together location to enjoy and relax! Highly recommended.

Josh, the host was very accommodating.

Great spot. Owner very responsive if you need him. Beautiful lake, with very little boat traffic. We tubed several times per day. Reasonably close to Acadia National Park, which I highly recommend. Decent golf course nearby too. No beach but swim dock and “tiki bar” made up for that.

This was a great place to stay. Very clean and functional with superb views. The kitchen was well equipped. The living room furniture was particularly nice.

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at your amazing camp! And even the weather cooperated!

We had a great stay at this property with our extended family. There was plenty of room for parking and still plenty of room for kids to use basketball hoop and play ground area. It rained the majority of days we were there so we only got to use the fire pit one night. There was plenty of wood to be used and that made things much easier.
Some of us were up early and throwing baits in the water at sunrise. We had plenty of success catching fish every day of our stay. There were also lots of ducks and loons during while we were there. We used the kayaks paddle boards and canoe as well. Everything was easily accessible and made the trip great for us.
If you like snacks/deserts make sure you stop at the shop on the road in. We had to cut ourselves off they were so good….

Always a beautiful property to come back to. We enjoyed our stay and had great fun with family and friends! Thank you, Josh!

We enjoyed just about everything during our stay at this house. The weather was not very cooperative the week we were there, but we were still able to use a pontoon boat and jet skis on several occasions. It was great to have a sturdy dock right on the premises which made for easy access to the pond. The house was well equipped with basic essentials, such as dish soap, sponge, laundry detergent and cleaning supplies and had good quality kitchenware and pots and pans. Our group included two babies and having the guest house with a repeat of everything that was in the main house allowed us to separate at times when the babies needed some quieter space. We enjoyed the fire pit almost nightly and just wished that there was a bit more space to all sit around the fire. All in all a great house for family gatherings. We have rented other homes with different hosts and Josh definitely was the most responsive both before and during our stay.

The main house and guest house were perfect for me and a few of my co-workers to stay for a few days while we worked. The lake is breathtaking in the morning and at sunset. The layout of the rooms are great and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. We relaxed next to the lake and enjoyed the fire pit as well. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

We booked this home for our trip to UMO for our daughter's graduation. The house was very clean with beautiful views and well equipped, one of the deciding factors was that it is dog friendly. We hope to come back for a summer vacation and be able to enjoy the lake, kayaking, maybe rent one of the boats!

This was a beautiful spot right on the lake with a great set up for our family with the main house and guest house next to it. Both houses were well stocked and had everything we needed. Josh was very communicative with any questions we had. We’ll be back!

It fit our 4 families well for being together for a family member’s destination wedding. The views were wonderful on the morning of our departure. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t very good that we could enjoy the amenities of grilling, the fire pit and kayaking.

Easy and simple getaway. Communication was great when needed, would repeat and rebooked for next year.

This was our second stay on a Greer family property. Both trips were amazing! They go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible! They even get into the details to make it special! Every review I have read speaks to how responsive the owner is when needed and they couldn’t have been more right! The refrigerator was on its way out and not getting cold, without question Josh was there within the hour and have the refrigerator replaced the same day! Great service, beautiful home and even more beautiful lake!

Everything the other reviews say is true. josh was an exceptional host and made our visit stress free and a delight. The house was super clean, well stocked, and very nicely organized. Sometimes, the homes we rent have too much “personality” and leave very little room for the guests. This is not the case with Peaceful Point. Every space was comfortable and there was room to spread out. The main living area was a great gathering place. Our dogs felt at home, as well. We rented a pontoon boat from Josh for the trip and this really was a highlight. we watched eagles and loons and enjoyed the lake. It was never crowded and definitely felt like a friendly neighborhood. the neighbors were great too. All in all, my kids said this was the best vacation they had in a while. Josh is very good at creating the stage for some great family memories. We only left the property for one hike because we enjoyed ourselves so much!

This is the second time we have rented this property; and we have booked for next summer too! This location is perfect for families with younger children - safe and quiet. This time the water was like bathwater at 78 degrees and the weather was absolutely perfect - sunny every day. Someone was in the water all the time! The float is a great treat for little (and big) swimmers!

5 children and 6 adults fit perfectly into this property. The kids had a blast at the dock fishing and exploring and swimming. The Tiki Bar in the middle of the lake was perfect for lots of silly dives and jumps into the lake.
We rented a pontoon boat and that added another dimension to our fishing and some leisurely boat rides around the lake. We used the fire pit almost every night. We loved our week here and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a peaceful vacation.

Another Great Vacation!
Always so much fun to stay at this property. Everything is super clean inside and out with anything you might need to enjoy the beautiful lake available to use. Owner is quickly responsive to questions and needs. Thank you so much Josh for another wonderful week!

Wonderful stay
Stayed here in early September with the family (including our dogs) and it was a great stay. Great location, house, and beautiful view from the house of the water. Our daughter (20 months) loved the pirate ship swing set too! Would happily stay again!

Great place
Wonderful location. Views from inside and outside of the house are beautiful. One note is the place is about an hour with no traffic to Acadia National Park.

Another Great Vacation
We had another great week at one of Josh Greer’s lake houses. We keep coming back year after year and we are never disappointed. Josh makes sure that every detail is covered for a great vacation week. The boat from his LakeSide Boat Rentals has become a huge hit with the kids and adults the last three years. We already can’t wait to return next year.

Great views!!
The four day stay was amazing the views , the lake , access to there canoes also having two separate homes gave the family the space and privacy they needed the only thing I would say that was a little bit off putting was one of the neighbors said an uncomfortable comment as we where pulling up which made the stay a little bit uncomfortable but other than that it was great place to stay

Perfect property, perfect weekend
Rented this property for weekend celebration of graduation, Birthday and Mother's Day. Having the second guest house allowed my ex and his family to join in the celebration while still giving us a little space to spread out. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything you'd need. Can't say enough about the comfort of the beds! Fantastic mattresses! Chemo Pond is a delight. My son arrived Friday night, dropped a line and caught a large mouth bass on his 1st cast. We have fantastic photos of Osprey soaring and diving for the hunt and were graced with a pair of bald eagles overhead. And we loved being serenaded by the loons morning and night. Neighbors were very friendly too. The owner was super responsive to any questions we had responding in a very timely fashion to our texts. Dogs had a ball! Highly recommend for extended family visit. You know your ex had a great time when he's already wanting to plan a family vacation next year.......yikes! We'll see :)
