About this house rental
Covid19 update: we thoroughly clean the house with Clorox after each guest.
As frequent travelers to B&B's, we have decided to make our home a B&B that is as convenient and comforting as the ones we like to stay at ourselves. After living in Portland for 13 years, we have agreed that a BnB is the best way to experience this beautiful area.
Location - This house has the perfect location for city and country people. It is only a 15 minute drive to downtown Portland while only 5 minute drive to the highway 26, which takes you to wineries, farms, hikes and the ocean.
Amount of People - We have enough room to accommodate for 16 people. There are 5 rooms that will fit 8 adults and 4 kids and if more room is needed then there are two futons that are queen sized when reclined. The dining room has plenty of space for all the guests because of its dining table that comfortably seats 13 people.
Wifi/TV - There are 3 TVs in the house with a wide variety of channels. We also have high speed internet.
Nearby the House - The chairs, tables and barbecue grill on the 560 sq foot deck make it perfect to lounge around on while the park behind the backyard is great for a relaxing, sunny day because of its tennis courts, playground and big field
Eating - We have supplied all of the kitchenware and tableware and a few basic ingredients such as sugar, coffee and tea. If you would like, we can stock the fridge with other food like eggs, bagels and butter.
Pictures - Below are photos of the house and a detailed floorplan that includes the furniture

We had a great time staying at this property! Kitchen was very spacious, with lots of counter space. Plenty of room for our family of ten. Deck was perfect to enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy the scenery of the woods. Very safe and quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend!

Had lots of fun at the house with Foosball and the table tennis. We cooked most of our meals there. We spent one day at the coast and 2 in Portland. The MAX station is close to the house and made travel so easy.

We actually did not end up staying at the property, and we are trying to get some of our money back. Upon arrival at the location, we were trying to figure out rooms for everyone. We went downstairs and it seemed unsecure. We started checking doors and found several odd looking spaces. Then we found a room which had access to the back door. There were two makeshift beds and a game setup like someone had recently been there. The back door was also unlocked. We did not feel safe and immediately left and secured another location to stay. Hopefully the homeowner will go ahead and offer more than the cleaning fee as a refund as our bank is currently processing litigation.

The house is great and exactly as it is listed. Good space to hang out, but also offers enough bedrooms for privacy for many guests. A very nice neighborhood as well. Great view out the back windows.
The owner was very responsive and quickly responded, which is great since we had an issue getting into the house initially.
All of us who stayed there were very pleased with this house and if we had a group again we'd look to see if it was available.

Beautiful views and perfect location! Lots of bedrooms and baths. Gathering areas could use better design for sitting and chatting.

The property is infested with ants.
Master bath was unacceptable.

We stayed here two years ago andnoticed the floors needed refinishing. This years the floors were done and looked beautiful! The home is large and well kept. There was plenty of room for our three families. We did have a few issues. There were ants and you had to be careful not to leave any food items uncovered. We could have used an extra roll of paper towels and a couple of rolls of toilet paper. There was also no sponge or cloth to wipe off counters or the table.

Family was here for a funeral. House was as advertised. Convenient to occupy and to our location needs.

The kids loved playing ping pong! The bedroom set up was perfect for a family of 6, another of 4, a single adult and a couple. The dining-room kitchen set up was perfect for casual eating and playing games and part of the time the kids were watching TV downstairs while others visited or played games upstairs which allowed for several things to happen at once. It was too cold to enjoy the patio but we took quite a few walks around the terraced yard, to the nearby playground, around the neighborhood and to the very cute Little Store, which is also a coffee shop, deli and pub (.6 miles). Michael answered all messages very quickly and was very responsive to needs. The house is also quite a bit nicer than the photos show. We all agreed it was a very nice weekend.

This house is excellent for a group of responsible family and friends to stay in. Beautiful home and setting and very well set up for accommodating all of your potential needs.

The owner was great to work with. I found out after the fact that he came out to see our show at the Alberta Rose! (Thanks again, Michael)
We are a fairly large band with road crew and Michael's place served as a perfect place to spend our few days off on tour. Beautiful surroundings, plenty of space and ample kitchen supplies for feeding an army of 16.
We had a slight hiccup with one of the neighbors who wasn't particularly fond of our tour bus / trailer (the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac and we take up a pretty large parking footprint).
This one neighbor called Michael to complain about the space we were taking up who then communicated the issue to me. We went over to the neighbor ourselves to work it out and, after burying the hatchet with a signed tour poster, everything went smoothly.
All of the other neighbors we encountered were very friendly and, other than this one little hiccup, our stay was great.
The place was clean and well kept - the only issue was that the basement area had a musty smell to it - something that I'm sure is difficult to avoid in the PNW.
Overall, a relaxing stay and a great host to work with.

Place was awesome. Highly recommend! Close to city but close to get around to see the coast.
Perfectly located. Very clean. Very very spacious!!! The huge bonus room in the basement was perfect for the teens to hang out. The deck was perfect to sit out all night and each morning. One thing, the air conditioning is a wall unit in the kitchen. If it was really hot. The house will not feel air conditioned nor the basement bedrooms. Overall, this place was great!

Quiet Place Summary
Was very impressed with the speed that our issues were handled. Would have liked little more detail on tv channel options.

Great Atmosphere
Plenty of room for seven adults and three children. Very spacious. Children loved the trails out back. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and visitation. Kitchen was spacious. Lots of games to play. We were concerned about staying cool enough with the temperatures at 104 but managed to stay quite comfortable with the air conditioning in the kitchen making a huge difference. Wonderful experience!

This house was perfect for our family (of 10) gathering. We were able to have the four kids in the bunk room between 2 rooms for two sets of parents! We enjoyed the beautiful view off the patio/balcony over coffee and also in the large dining room, while the kids had plenty of space to move around inside but also the park with-in a short walk was so perfect. Kitchen space was wonderful with so many of us cooking, getting coffee or grabbing snacks for the kids all at the same time. Michael was always available to answer questions. Plenty of linens; extra sheets, blankets, and towels. I especially appreciated the snuggle blankets on the couches while watching TV! We use washcloths to shower with and there were only two, so you could bring you mr own if that’s something you need. But, plenty of shampoo, body wash, etc!We plan to make this regular stay! Thank you Michael!

We really enjoyed staying at this house. The back yard bordered on the park so the view from the dining room window was picturesque. Since we couldn't go anywhere because of COVID restrictions, we used the park to play in. We kicked a soccer ball around, used the walking path and playground equipment. The house was very roomy. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Mattresses were very comfy. The only issue we had were the floors. I had read about this in other reviews but thought the problem would have been resolved. The floors were not thoroughly cleaned. We noticed bits of paper and hair on the wood floors upstairs and the dark blue carpet downstairs had hair and fuzz. Maybe a better vacuum and a Swiffer would help. We loved the rest of the house so much that floor problem didn't matter much. We put down blankets on the floor for the 8 month old baby who isn't quite crawling yet and stayed on the furniture. Thank you for a wonderful holiday vacation!!

It worked out
We had 11 people and 4 pets evacuated from the wildfires. This place was great because it would accomodate all of us! The only negative was that the floors were pretty dirty. Our feet were filthy black. Once I just swept them, they were better. Pretty dirty to begin with. Hard to imagine they were cleaned.

Perfect for our needs
Due to Covid, couldn't stay with family on annual summer trip back to Portland so needed to rent a place to call home for a week. Loved the location; perfect! Property backs up to a park which was perfect. House had what we needed and didn't have stuff we didn't need. Perfect for the week.
Cleaning crew just missed a few spots prior to arrival but other than that, we were absolutely satisfied with the property and the communication with the owner was lightning fast and attended any/all needs, which were few and minor.
Cheers!

Great house in a great neighborhood
My sister’s family and ours stayed for 5 days/nights. Comfortable beds, large and well-equipped kitchen, great location - just what we needed! Most importantly, Michael was a great host!! He was easy to work with and answered questions we had immediately. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Great house for a big group
We rented this house so we'd have a nice big kitchen and dining area to host Thanksgiving for a crowd this year. The rooms were all nice and comfortable, and the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked and easy for many of us to cook in together.
There were a few things that were broken/not clean when we arrived, but overall it was a great house for us!

Adequate space; excellent cooking kitchen
Plenty of space for our group; kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for cooking. Owner brought bagels & cream cheese the first morning - what a pleasant surprise! The only reason I didn't give it a five start rating is that it would have been nice if there had been some written instructions on how to operate the TVs. Especially the bigger one downstairs that was setup with Roku - had no idea how to make it work :/ Inconsistent Wi-Fi signature contributed to the problem. First night we watched a movie in one of the upstairs bedrooms instead; but were able to finally figured it out the 2nd night and enjoyed some better movies options.
Hardwood floor throughout the upstairs and the carpeting on the stairs to the lower level had definitely seen better days; neither of which interfered with our stay, but it didn't look very appealing :-(

Perfect place for me and my wedding guests
We had overseas guests in for our wedding 9/14/19 and wanted them all to stay together and be close to where we live. I also wanted to sleep there so as not to see the groom before the wedding. Michaels place was perfect. It’s large, comfortable and clean. Michael even brought us a box of bagels and all the fillings so this bride had a hearty breakfast before heading to our venue. Thanks Michael!

Charming home
Very comfortable home. Michael was great to work with. Brought us bagels the first night. Everyone loved them. Nice to have the park so close for the kids. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Cozy retreat outside of Portland
Just returned from a three night stay in Portland with my Girl Scout troop. The size of the house was perfect for our needs as we had ten people. The girls enjoyed hanging out in the downstairs area. The location was nice, tucked into a neighborhood hillside. We received a surprise visit from the homeowner, bringing us bagels and cream cheese. Sadly, there were ants that we weren't aware of, and they got to the bagels before we did. The ants is my only reason for giving four stars for cleanliness. Otherwise, the house was great.

This house worked out for us. We went for a baseball tournament minutes away from the house. The house had enough space for everyone. And enough bathrooms. Lol no one was waiting. Super clean.

Great family trip 2019
This was a great home to stay in. 9 children and 6 adult. It was perfect. The owner brought us bagels 🥯 and cream cheese spreads. What a great treat! Beds were all comfortable and the beautiful view on the back porch was so relaxing. Could not have asked for a better place to stay.

Great place for our big family group
The house was clean and comfortable. The kids LOVED the bunk bed room, the grandparents could escape to the basement, and everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked, and we were easily able to make breakfast there every morning. Also, the backyard was beautiful and backs up to a park with a playground and tennis courts.
