We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We loved the layout of the property near the beach which has level areas for chairs and activities. The 2 docks were the highlight of the trip for the kids! Tom was very helpful and accommodating.

Great place to unplug and just enjoy the water and the mountains. Spent the days on the motorized raft and swimming in the lake. Evenings were spent around a fire. It is a great place to unplug and relax.

Loved staying at Tom's property on Star lake! And he was kind and extremely understanding and allowed a last-minute accommodation for our family. And we truly appreciated that! House is great. Bunkhouse is wonderful especially if you have friends or family that would benefit from having their own private space. But the real jem of this property is the lake! Most days the lake is like glass. It's warm. you can swim in fairly deep water and still see the bottom- it's beautiful and clear. Awesome little Beach on the property for little ones. If you haven't been to Star Lake I don't want to ruin the surprise, but the motorized boat included with the rental is really unique, and fun. Find the Sandbar out in the lake, and if you're like us you'll be spending everyday there! Thanks for a amazing family vacation!

The house is exactly what you're hoping for when you look at the pictures. The lake is the reason you're here, clear and wonderful for swimming and boating. The motorized dock is a particular highlight. We used it to explore the lake (sometimes while having a picnic) and anchored it at a nearby sandbar, which is an amazing place for swimming.
The house itself is clean and comfortable. We were two families travelling together, and we made the little separate house a kids' house. It includes a bunk bed and a loft with two more beds, and was plenty of room for five kids. There are also amenities like a grill and an oversized tub that overlooks the beautiful lake.
The only maybe downside is that there's not a ton of other stuff nearby, like restaurants or attractions. It's the perfect spot to spend your days (as we did) playing in the lake, grilling outside, and relaxing on the shore. Overall, a wonderful, refreshing vacation.

Tom's property is the ideal location for families. The house has charm and character and plenty of room. The three bedrooms upstairs all have ceiling fans, and there are plenty of linens and towels for all. The downstairs bathroom is updated and has a great shower. The kitchen is well stocked, with plates and utensils for at least 12, and many pots and pans. The dishwasher is very handy! The large and clean fridge was appreciated. There is also a gas grill. Tom is very responsive should you have a question or concern about anything.
We spent hours in the front room overlooking the lake. Perfect for games and meals. We all got a kick out of the motorized raft, which is a Star Lake thing. You can motor out of Tom's bay and take a right to visit the very popular sand bar, where people picnic and swim for the day. The small lake has lots of nooks and crannies to explore, which we did both by "barge" and by canoe.
The bunkhouse is perfect for extra guests. It can easily sleep four, but might get very warm. The ceiling fan helps but we brought another fan with us and that was useful. The bathroom there has a sink and shower. It also has a compost toilet which we did not use.
The town of Star Lake is pretty small. The local grocery store is limited with questionable produce, but the Circle K convenience store, a 5-minute walk up the street, has fresher items, as well as subs and pizza.
There is no internet but excellent Verizon cell phone connectivity. There is every DVD imaginable so really no need for Netflix. There is a small selection of board games, and we highly recommend the Life Twists and Turns game. Many laughs!
There's a road around the lake about 4 miles long, which makes for a nice walk or bike ride. But you'll probably spend most of your time like we did: relaxing on the lawn in the sun or shade, swimming to the dock, or cruising to the sand bar. There are neighbors close by, and afternoons and early evenings are filled with summer noises of happy children playing in the water. We had great views of the sunset and the stars, and the nights are very quiet. What's nice about this lake is that there are only a handful of small motor boats and jet skis on it, so it's relatively quiet. Just about every house has a motorized raft and that's everyone's preferred mode of water transportation. It's something to see.
Thanks, Tom, for a relaxing week!

We really enjoyed our stay at Star Lake. The swim/ beach area was perfect for our family. Really enjoyed taking out the dock/ barge. Close to convenience store and not far to Tupper Lake Wild Center.

This is the perfect summer home for a family. Swimming in clear waters. Loons on the lake. Very peaceful. Great waters for canoeing and our kayaks. Thanks for a great week!
