Great place to stay. Owner was awesome. Had a great time even though we were working.

The best feature of this property is the location and a magnificent Pine that spreads out over the front patio. After that it was the excellent communication with the property manager Nick, who responded quickly to several “needs”. The beds were very comfortable but the house itself is in dire need of upgrades and infrastructure repair. The kitchen is very sad, drawers are filled with junk and falling apart, cabinets are filled with old and expired food items, stove was ok, refrigerator old and too small for 4 people, and there is peeling paint, gouges and holes in the walls throughout the place. It just isn’t very nice to be inside, which is understandable if all a guest wants is to sleep and be at the beach or outside all day, but we had planned long evenings in and Christmas Dinner guests, so it was tough to adjust to such aesthetics like torn lampshades and a stained and dirty TV Ottoman. Electrical needs upgrading, there were no operable smoke alarms visible, and the main television was very small for comfortable viewing. Last issue, the wood deck as shown in the photos is gone. As property owners of a popular rental in Berkeley, we just couldn’t understand what a sad and neglected state the house is in.

So the best part about this house is the location. Just a short walk to the beach and easy drive to restaurants in San Clemente. We did have some issues running out of supplies (we were only there for 4 nights but ran out of toilet paper on day 2 - no extra in the house and had to go buy some and only 1/2 a roll of paper towels were provided). We also did not have any dishwashing detergent but thankfully they brought some over. There was only part of a wine opener so we had to improvise for that as well. The drawers and cabinets in the kitchen are a bit messy and disorganized which also makes it hard to find things. The beds and sleeping areas were fine. I would recommend for the location but it would be nice if they could organize the kitchen a bit better and make sure that toilet paper, paper towels and other cleaning supplies are well stocked that would be helpful.

Corporate Housing at its best
House was in a perfect location. Offered all the amenities needed, and more, for a wonderful extended stay and for our corporate housing needs.... The owner was very quick in responding to questions and wonderful to work with. Highly recommended.

Loved Staying by the Beach!!
We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house is very cozy and charming, and very functional with everything your family will need for a comfortable stay. The house is well stocked with kitchen, bath, and bed items. Nick the manager is also easy to communicate with. It's a short walking to distance to the beach and an easy 5 minute ride to downtown San Clemente and all the restaurants. We are looking forward to our next future stay! --Guest Nicole and Family

Wonderful!
We were looking for a place to stay near Camp Pendleton and found this gem in a great location. We were able to cook & serve Thanksgiving dinner in this very comfortable home. Responsiveness & friendliness of the owners was outstanding. This house will be on our list for any future stays in the area.

Beach Cottage
We had a great stay here over Fall Break! We love the San Clemente area! We had plenty of space for our family and enjoyed sitting on the front patio under the beautiful Cypress tree. There were a few maintenance issues but nothing that adversely affected our trip.

Weekend with Friends
We stayed in San Clemente while attending an event at Doheny State Beach. The location was great and only a 5 minute walk down to the beach. There were 5 of us so we had plenty of space in the 3 bedroom. We liked spending time out in the front patio and enjoyed the full amenities of home including the full kitchen, cable TV and slept well in the comfie beds. Its an older home in need of some updates however. The bathroom off the living room is especially of need of repair. The kitchen sink gave off an odd odor. Bring your own soap/shampoo/etc. Communication was fantastic. Check-in as well as check-out was a breeze and they even accommodated early check-in and late check-out which we Really appreciated!

Perfect location. SC State Beach and Calafia Beach practically in the back yard. Quiet neighborhood. Easy access with Nick to secure the key. Can’t ask for more. Thank you!

Layout of the house makes this “little” bungalow super generous. Two dens and a big front patio offer plenty of room to enjoy and to even have friends over after surfing and to cook out. A big back bedroom has its own bathroom and privacy away from the front two beds and bath. A short walk down the street for a surf at state beach, or to the trail head for a walk that runs the length of the southwest side along the beach (2+ miles each way). Shhhhh don’t tell anyone else

Property was amazing, great location and plenty of room. Older home but well designed to serve family needs. May want to bring extra towels and bathroom supplies however.

Cherie is great!
Cherie is a wonderful property manager, and is very responsive. She gets double points for putting up with a Covid cancellation for a July 2020 stay, and then rebooking in March of 2021.
Great loacation, and the house is perfect for families.

Nice older beach home. Great location near the beach.House could have been cleaner. Plenty of dirt that should have been cleaned before our visit. Older appliances worked fine, but the house air filter in the hallway was filthy. House was very quiet even with an apartment complex right behind the house.

Fantastic location - helpful owners - quaint older cottage
We would stay here again ✅
Fantastic location - easy beach access to state beach - beautiful neighborhood. 8 min drive to the Pier area. 5 min to grocery store.
Excellent responses from property owners (some basic supplies were missing due to a quick turn around of tenants but the owners were very helpful to make things right.) Working directly with owners who are nearby was wonderful -very quick to respond. - SO Much better than places that are run by a management company.
The home itself is an original 1950s (guessing) beach home with few updates but it still had a very cosy, comfortable atmosphere. A few things need tending to with the age of the home, but it was still in good condition considering the age. The bedroom were spread out, and there are two living/family rooms. Our group of 6 adults and a baby was comfortable. Beds comfortable. This is one of few homes that has not been completely updated, so the neighborhood is gorgeous, and this cottage fits right in as an original beach home.
Wonderful outdoor sitting area with a huge tree providing shade. With our family group, we felt safe and comfortable (minus the unusual heat in that area and no AC). I’m a huge AC person but still was relatively comfortable day and night with fans and the breeze.
Again, can’t say enough about the owners being helpful. There’s always something everywhere you stay, but having owners respond vs a management company that doesn’t - is priceless!

Great beach cottage very close to Califia Beach.
The clean, roomy cottage was comfortable for 5 adults and a toddler and is located within a short walk of the beach. Loved sitting out front under the shade of a giant old tree and enjoying the cool ocean breezes.

Perfect San Clemente cottage
Perfect beach house. Great location for surfing, biking and walking on the beachside trail! Cherie was helpful when asking before arrival if they had a crockpot, coffee grinder and blender, she noticed they didn’t and purchased for us. Only bummer was dishwasher didn’t work and clogged the sink. Awesome for families! Will rent again

from the desert to the beach
The property reminded my sister of my grandmother's house. We loved the front seating area, the friendly neighbors walking to the beach, the house was roomy and comfortable and decorated very nice for a beach house. My mom is already planning our return trip!

Just what we were hoping for!
We couldn't have been more pleased. What stood out? The location, just a 5 minute walk down to the beach, the spacious area, 3 bedrooms, a TV room, big kitchen and living room with a large dining area, comfy beds too! We stayed here because it was close to Camp Pendleton and offered plenty of room for us to entertain our Marine grandson and his friends. Oh, I didn't mention the front patio with seating for 8! Thanks Nick for a great stay!

Nice beach cottage
Excellent location a block to the beach.. The home is a cozy beach cottage that is a little older but was plenty spacious. Nick who lives behind the cottage is great. Very helpful and a great person.. My family and I had a great experience overall and would for sure consider coming back..

The Best Beach House Vacation!!
This could not have been more perfect for my family. The walk to the beach was very easy. We could come and go as we pleased and didn't have to worry about parking or fees or anything. Cheri had equipment (chairs, boogie boards) for us to use. It was close enough to stores and restaurants. The Calafia beach is the best in San Clemente. The house was clean and spacious. My kids had plenty of room to be kids. We were able to entertain a few friends for dinner because the kitchen was well equipped. Nick was wonderful!! We have rented off VRBO and Air BnB many times and this is one of the best. We would love to make it an annual trip.

Roomy, comfy house and the beach close- what more do you need
My family had a wonderful stay at this lovely, roomy home. Went to the beach every day- our son dropped grandkids & us off, but close enough to walk which we did a couple of times. Kids really enjoyed soft serve ice cream sold right at the beach. Had great meals out, when we weren't barbecuing. Great food nearby. Even caught an Angel game at the stadium one night. Very quiet neighborhood and the on-site concierge (Nick) made it easy to get answers to the few questions we had. Can't wait for next summer. Thanks again for the wonderful time.

Relaxed family-friendly atmosphere
Our family of nine stayed at the beach cottage for 12 days. We loved the proximity to the beach and the nice front deck. Our stay was surrounding the birth of my sister’s first baby, so we had several family gatherings at the house and found that the space in the home was quite adequate. The beds were very comfortable and nicely appointed. The laundry room was convenient, although the washer has some mildew in it. Things to improve upon: we had just a tiny bit of toilet paper left upon our arrival and found none in the house, so we were off to the store. We also had a very small amount of dish soap there and the kitchen knives were so dull, that I ended up purchasing my own at Ralph’s so we could cut fruit, vegetables and sandwiches. Overall we were pleased and comfortable. Nick was on site, so he was able to respond quickly if we needed assistance. We would rent this house again.

Great house with great space and location!
I rented this house with four others as we were competing in a horse show in San Juan Capistrano. It had easy access to I-5 and so close to the ocean you could hear the waves breaking! The house offers private spaces and also a big living room/dining room which made a great gathering place at the end of the day. There is a lovely outdoor sitting area with table and a huge Cypress (I think Cypress?) tree in the front yard to offer shade. Kitchen and house were fully stocked with everything we needed!

Perfect place for a beach getaway
We had a wonderful stay here. The owner was very hospitable and accommodating to our needs and requests. We had a 2 and 4 year old with us and it was a nice surprise to see the house equipped a few toys and a high chair. The owner's son who lives in the unit behind the house was very friendly, giving us advice on surf spots and even lent us one of his boards since the board shops were closed for the holiday. The house was the perfect size for our family of 6 with plenty of space to hang out. We bbq'd and ate outside most of the time and enjoyed the nice weather in the relaxing chairs. The house is a little dated but everything worked and was nicely decorated with comfortable beds. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and the pier 1 mile north from the beach with 2 surf spots along the way. This was one of our favorite vacation rentals and hope to stay here again!
