About this house rental
Our spectacular beach house is 'On The Sand,' offering its own private beach while providing white water views and soothing ocean sounds (you hear the surf in every room). It has a bright beachy decor and a quiet location - conveniently located halfway between the Village in Carlsbad and the Pier in Oceanside (we walk on the sand to both).
This completely renovated home is fully furnished (we relax here frequently) and offers sweeping ocean views from La Jolla to Catalina. You can watch the dolphins play or the whales spout from the living room, deck, or beach.
At night, visit one of the area's fine restaurants or simply dine on the beach while watching the beautiful sun set over the Pacific. During the day, relax on the beach or enjoy the numerous activities that are unique to this fabulous destination.

We had a big family get together. It was perfect for our young grandchildren

This house was perfect for our extended family, with three separate spaces for families to spread out in. The backyard was great for the kids - they played in the sand for hours at a time. The only downside really is that the picture seems misleading. By looking at the neighbors property in the picture, I'd say it is an old photo. We stayed a week, and even experienced a period of negative tide, and never once saw beach over the fence. If you want to go to the beach and play in the waves, you will need to go to the public beach two miles up the road. It was never safe to play just outside of this properties fence. The waves were crashing over huge boulders. On the plus side, this was an awesome sight.

We loved the location of the Beach House. It was very clean and the new decking is beautiful. The new French doors really cool down the house. Lovely time.

Nice location in Ocenanside, kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and living areas were laid out well, able to handle a group of people.
One thing that is needed is a sun umbrella.

Wish the weather was better but I don’t think management had much control over that😉

The house worked well for our group of 15. We had plenty of room for all. We loved the private beach front decks on each level!! When we checked into house, the back yard looked like it had not been cleaned. The tables and all the chairs were covered with sand as well as the ones on the decks. The stairs were all sandy too. The sand yard outside was not smoothed out and the toys were thrown into a plastic pool all dirty. The inside was clean everywhere, the linens were fresh, it smelled nice, but the floors although they looked clean, made your feet turn black if you were barefoot. The kitchen was stocked well and we found everything we needed there. The beds were all comfortable. There was adequate dining space. There were 2 large fans as well.
The weather was perfect, the view was amazing . There was plenty of seating outside. The beach stairs are wonderful however, there was hardly any beach at all except for low tide, and even that was a small strip.. The beach access was rough because the water was all the way up to the stairs the rest of the time. The sandy yard provided lots of private lounging space though, and enough room for the kids to set up their 4 way beach volleyball net as well. There were sand toys galore and boogie boards and an extra umbrella under the deck. We were literally outside all day long and after our evening meal, the kids roasted marshmallows in the fire pit at night! The way that the coastline has changed, this house has one of the better set ups you can get! We had a great week there, and lots of good family fun! We made memories we will cherish! We will definitely rent this house again!
Thank you to the owners for allowing us to rent your beach house!

My family and I love coming to this beach house. It's great for the children and their parents and grandparents (if you don't mind sand being tracked in). We can spend as much time as we want playing in the sandy backyard or going downstairs to the water without having to haul towels, toys, food etc. back and forth to the beach. This year the tides were in our favor and we had long stretches of time when the tide was out and there was lots of beach area to play in. Even when the tide comes in it's still pleasant to sit on the steps and read. The house with its three separate units works well for multiple families.

This Oceanside beach house was the perfect location and set up for our yearly family vacation. We had three families and everyone had their own space to call home for the week. The fenced in sand was awesome for letting our kids play in the sand and water and we could nap little ones when we needed. We found the only downside to this property was it was a little outdated and the floors were dirty. But our overall experience was very good and we made great memories!

We rented all three units for a family beach vacation and we had an amazing time. The location was perfect. 1.2 miles to the pier (we walked several times). Being right on the beach with the backyard being a huge sandbox was great for the kids. No hauling all your stuff to the beach. It is an older beach house so nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Great for each family to have their own space. One of the water heaters went out while we were there the the owners had it replaced immediately. They were so accommodating and responsive. We couldn’t have asked for more!

We enjoyed our stay in Oceanside so much. We had the most relaxing time and the younger kids were in tears when they had to go back home. Would love to be able to stay again but Minnesota is a long way to get us all there. We also had a son from Virginia Beach travel so it is very seldom we spend the holiday all together- that made it so much fun!!

Our family had a great time. The house with the three separate units worked out well. Each family had their own space but could also be together whenever we wanted. The kids (and their parents) loved the “beach” backyard and then the beach which didn’t require packing a lot of stuff and a long walk. The sunsets were beautiful from the backyard and the sound of the ocean was delightful.

Although this place was very expensive, it was a great location/house and right on the beach. We enjoyed the private sand yard and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The house itself was a little dirty but that’s expected with tracking sand in from outside. If you’re going to rent out one unit only, make sure you choose the top one connected to the garage. I slept on the very bottom floor and could hear my family bright and early above me! But it was perfect renting out all 3 units for our big family!

We rented out the 3 story house for our large family. The features we found convenient were: each floor having its own kitchen, separate access to the beach from outside stair cases, unobstructed ocean views from the balconies, a fire pit (you need to provide your own wood), and sand toys and boogie boards.
The backyard literally is at the ocean’s doorsteps. There’s no street or sidewalk to cross accessing the beach. Beyond the gate, which the photos don’t reveal, are steps leading down to a private beach. At high tide, sometimes the waves would crash over the fence which we found entertaining. At low tide, swimming in the ocean was another enjoyable activity.
In the garage, they provide a coin operated washer and dryer. You have to supply your own detergent.
There is only one parking spot available on the property. Other vehicles must find parking along the street which wasn’t a problem.
Please note that this property is not wheelchair accessible or for those having difficulty climbing stairs.
This home was so ideal for our family that we’re already talking about returning for another memorable vacation.

We enjoyed our time here. We had a big group, so we rented out all 3 units and it worked perfectly for us: Us and our 2 kids in unit A. My parents and brother in Unit B, and my in laws in Unit C.
Pros:
-- On the beach! There is a set of stairs that lead down to the ocean so you can play in the water at low tide, with a gate. We were able to see dolphins from the balcony each morning!
-- Sand in the yard was great for our young kids to play in the sand when it was cold or the tide was too high.
-- Renting all 3 units, we all had our own space, but Unit A was big enough for us all to come together for meals.
-- Firepit was great for nightly fires and s'mores!
-- Great location between the Harbor and Carlsbad Village. We drove up to the Harbor one day to walk around. We saw about 20 sea lions while we were there, and the boats are fun to look at too.
-- Owner is SUPER quick to respond! We got there about an hour earlier than expected and asked if we could get in early. She helped us access the unit a little earlier than normal check in. She also responded quickly to a few questions I had before we arrived.
-- Great lighting on the stairs. We've stayed at a different location and the stairs were not well lit so we almost tripped a few times. All stairs here are well lit, using motion detection.
Cons:
-- Cleaning is sub-par. We came in right after the cleaners left, and since COVID is still a thing, I wiped counters and such down with Lysol wipes. There were still crumbs on the counters. There were lots of spider webs also on the railings, that could easily be swept off quickly by the cleaning crew. There was dust on cabinets, etc that should be dusted by cleaners.
-- Dishes are not all microwave or dishwasher safe. Some of the plates could only go on the top rack and they were a little large to fit there.
-- Washing machine and dryer are coin operated. Therefore we couldn't do any laundry. After the counters being dirty still, I considered washing the sheets just to be safe, but didn't have coins to run several loads of laundry. So we just hope they were cleaned.
-- Gate leading to the units doesn't lock. There is a lock, but it's a deadbolt, so as guests, we couldn't lock it.
-- Outlets in the bunk bedroom in Unit B didn't work. Only one of 4 outlets that were accessible actually worked.
-- The lower units can hear the upper units walking and talking.
Overall we had a WONDERFUL time. A little TLC and more thorough cleaning would make it an A+.

Overall, our stay was great; the 3 units gave our 4 families privacy yet the outside staircases to each provided easy pathways for visiting and shared cooking. Facing the beach with a deck out of each unit was cool to not only watch kids boogie board and playing in the private sand yard but watching both sunsets and storms. All the units provided ample dishware/cookingware/utensils in a clean kitchens, dining/livingspace and bathrooms.

Spending a week relaxing at the beach is our family's favorite vacation. We have been to Oceanside several times now, and this rental and its location on the beach is our favorite! We had a large group and used all three units. They are all well equipped, clean, and cheery. We hope to come again.

We rented all 3 units as a family for our annual 4th of July vacation. This house worked out perfectly with 3 separate kitchens, bathrooms & living quarters but we were still all together. Had the best time ever being right on the beach! Parking was a little tight but we made it work. I really appreciated getting to communicate directly with the owner Kelley who made sure that all of our needs were taken care of and made sure our stay was great. She even sent us a package with all the stuff we forgot and left behind. She was five star host for sure! I'm sure we'll be back again.
