There were food crumbs in the utensil drawer. Clothing dryer wasn’t working upon check in. Had to repeatedly follow up with Vacasa for repair request, which never got fixed during our three-night stay. Every time I contacted Vacasa, they created a new work order because they couldn’t find the original one. In the last night, the central heat stopped working. Vacasa never responded. Upstairs was 60 and downstairs was 55. Even when the heat worked, there was little to no effect downstairs, and there were no space heaters. Requested a partial refund from Vacasa for false advertisement, and they refunded $22.

Absolutely loved the location for visiting the Northstar resort. The condo was very clean and decorated so well. It’s listed as a two bedroom but technically has three, where the laundry room was converted to a bedroom as well. Spacious and large, which we never felt cramp with how many people it was able to sleep. Ski storage right outside the door was awesome.
Now for the bad, the heater was not working and we were not able to reach anyone to fix the issue. We were told to call different numbers and were not able to get anyone to come in and fix the heater. We had to sleep with multiple layers and multiple blankets to be able to stay asleep from how cold it was during the peak winter weather.
I would have given this condo a perfect rating if it wasn’t for the heater not working and not being able to reach anyone to fix it.

Condo was clean, more than large enough for our family of 4. Gas/wood fireplace was nice to cozy up to at the end of the day. Bedrooms are downstairs and living space is upstairs. Is located in the Aspen Grove area.
Kitchen ingredients aren't super well stocked, so bring whatever spices you need. We had enough pots/pans/plates, etc.
We chose this location for proximity to Northstar and with this in mind, this condo was a great find. 5-10 minute walk away from the village; is located downhill from the Village so you can actually ski most of the way home at the end of the day.
Only comment is that the downstairs could use some space heaters. Downstairs can get cold while upstairs is very comfortable. Arguably, we were there during the coldest days Tahoe has seen in a while. I did not call and place a request, so this may have be resolved by the property manager if I had asked.
We would stay again if skiing at Northstar!

Very good location, house is big enough and layout is good, mattresses very old need to be changed, kitchen utensils and cookware very worn down.
8.0 / 10.0
Great location with good layout for lots of sleeping options. Kitchen and bathrooms were great for us, as was the dining room and living room. Fridge kept things cold and we had plenty of cookware for meals. Easy ride up to the lifts on the back trail. Downstairs was a little colder than the main floor- nothing that the excellent blankets couldn’t resolve.

Works well for a small group of friends, or for a family. Very comfortable. Great location near golf course and rec center.

Location and amenities are very good.
The size of the rental property is also accurate and good for my family.
Although the 3rd room was super small, it fit the bunk bed and washer/dryer right next to it. We didn’t use it.
Cleaning of kitchen should be taken care and very smelly (mold?) . Bed linen & sheets didn’t feel clean and one of the beds was disgusting dirty.

Well for starters the pull out bed wasn't habitable, we contacted the property management, as two of our guests had to sleep on the floor. Their response was it needed further maintenance and to call and email again, which we did, and no response. No apology, no offering to help fix it. The beginning of our trip, our reservation was blocked, so it took over 30 minutes to talk to someone to get it unblocked. They sent us the confirmation email on how to get in, yet when we got there no mention of the lockbox code, so we had to call a second time. The parking passes were nowhere to be found, so that was our third call to the property management. Fire extinguisher was from 1986, dishwasher and toaster didn't work, neither did the internet the first night. We will not be staying here again, or any vacasa for that matter. The fact that they just blew us off, and we paid a lot of money for this unit is unacceptable. We reached out to vrbo, who we booked it through, they apologized but told us that they couldn't do anything, as it was the property management company. They filed a complaint and told us they would reimburse us for another room. It was 6pm, we had already been on the phone with them for over an hour, 5 children in tow, and a snowstorm, it clearly wasn't an option to move anywhere. I said we could go get an air mattress, and their response was that they "might" be able to reimburse us. Will not be returning.

Was not as advertised. For starters it says 8 people can stay, well, the pull out mattress was broken so two people had to sleep on the floor. We called property management about it, they came out, said it was broken, and told us to call them back and email! No apology, not offering to bring in an air mattress. Nothing, they basically just ignored us. Had to call the property management company multiple times, no lockbox code to get in, fire extinguishers from 1986, diswasher broken, internet not working, no parking passes. It was a very disappointing stay, and we will not be returning. If you're going to be spending that much money, just go to the actual Northstar village. We will NOT be returning.

The condo was as expected for Tahoe. It was comfortable enough with not to comfy bed. It was a short skiing wknd getaway so we weren’t looking for anything fancy.
The shortage came with the management.
1) we were given an e-lock code but the house is not equipped with a keypad entry. You need a physical key to enter the condo. We had to call in to ask for a lockbox code.
2) the house had a washer and a dryer but it did not supply any detergent.
3) the house had a dishwasher but there were no dishwasher detergent. When I called in, Vacasa said they’ll deliver within an hour. After 2 hrs, I called and they told me that they don’t supply additional dishwasher detergent. I told them there was none at our arrival. The agent said she will contact the local service provider and call me back. I never got a call back nor the detergent. We had to hand wash all our dishes. The agent also said with the storm, it could be difficult to deliver a dishwasher detergent. This is understandable, except that cars were on the road and streets were plowed.
4) the tea kettle handle was broken and should be replaced.
5) all the pans had it’s none stick Teflon peeled off. It was a good thing that we precooked majority of our food, the owner or the management should think about replacing them.
6) the house came with a total of 4 forks. I think the house capacity is 6 ppl. Total of 4 forks was difficult, the owner/management should think about adding at least a few more.
All these are minor fixable issues and our stay could have been better.

All new hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and a BIG TV! I don't miss the old carpet from last year. The condo is just below the Village, so it's a short shuttle to the slopes and you can even ski back to the condo. Also, a ton of wood on the downstairs balcony so we enjoyed a big crackling fire after an awesome day skiing. It truly is a Great Northstar Condo!

For much of our 2 night stay, the accommodations were fairly well arranged. The space is plenty big for 6-8, though it was only 4 of us.
The home is a cabin and has the cabin feel, which we usually enjoy.
Unfortunately, at the time of our booking, there was not clear communication that there would be NO AC. All the while temperatures hit 95 degrees. It was very hot in the home, particularly up stairs. It was not comfortable to hang out in.
It also made it difficult to sleep, particularly for our young children.
There was one fan in a closet, but it blew around the hot air.
Also, the “rules for checking out” include doing a lot of cleaning up and cleaning out, while we paid a great deal for a cleaning fee.
Overall, pretty uncomfortable. Which is unfortunate, as they could have communicated better about the AC and we would not have booked OR simply allow guests to turn it on.

In my 20+ years living & traveling in the US, I have never experienced anything like it. First of all, this property should have never been rented in summer. Its either pure neglect or greed or both — I don’t know what it is. We were seven of us (3 adults + 2 teens + 2 children) The home was sold to us as a dream vacation home close by Lake Tahoe. It was pricey, but hey we wanted the experience, so went for it. We checked in around 9pm. It was a two level home. We went up to the kitchen area first to finish our sandwiches (we had bought for dinner). It was close to 105 degrees upstairs (the entire day’s heat had just descended from the roof). We were scrambling for the thermostat. It looked broken, so we called to report this to the property management and they said they’ll send someone for help. It was close to uninhabitable upstairs. We were sweating, gasping for air & water. We finished our dinner and came downstairs. We found 2 bedrooms & enough space to sleep 4. We found a bunker bed with two beds in the laundry room (yes, you read that right!), with the bed brushing the washer/dryer. It was close to 100 degrees inside the laundry room with no vent. In fact, the rooms in general had no vents. We called the property mgmt for help again. Couple of calls later, they said we should look for fans in the home and the AC does not work. There was one broken fan & that barely emitted some air within one foot of the fan. Realizing that the upstairs was unsafe, we moved everyone down. We squeezed 7 people into the two bedrooms. Alas, this is how the concentration camps must have felt! Honestly, had the temperature not dropped at night, we’d have to either sleep in the car risking carbon monoxide poisoning or simply chose to die of heat stroke in the home. Throughout the night I had to check on the family to ensure everyone was safe and had enough water to drink. Pathetic! Why does anyone in this day & age have to live through this trauma, even for a night? And I had to pay a Ritz-Carletonesque rent for this. Pathetic!
Even more pathetic is the way the property management handled my 4 calls. Utterly insensitive and almost blaming us for not being able to adjust — apparently this is how cabin homes are!
Some body must be held accountable for all this trauma that we had to put up. I am finding help to understand how to handle this. If anyone knows more how to handle this, please contact me asap!

Decent location, but filthy.
It was easy to find and access. We wanted someplace near the village, which this had. It was big enough for our needs. No problems there. The condition of the condo was not up to snuff, however. The walls badly need a paint job. The carpet seemed filthy and was torn in a places. The furniture was in bad condition and wasn’t comfortable. It also felt dirty. The beds did not have any headboards and the bedding was not clean. A stinking pile of garbage was left by the previous guests in an outdoor closet. The place was not stocked with many items like coffee filters, garbage bags, light bulbs (a few needed changing), hand soap, etc.
I have stayed in a lot of rentals from Vrbo over the years and this one ranks in the bottom 10%. Mostly because it was so dirty. This was probably the dirtiest I’ve ever stayed in.

Good
Good location, beds were comfortable, space was good. Definitely I would stay again. I would only say that they need to ventilate a bit better after each occupancy, the house smelled a little bit like salmon and we found a piece of that salmon under a chair seat. But we booked on a really really short time so maybe we caught them on a rush.

Great location between truckee & kings beach. Condo was very clean, quiet, beautiful surroundings with the Aspen trees. Would love to come back again in the fall. Beautiful areas to explore!

Affordable and cozy
Excellent location! Kitchen and sleeping arrangements are a bit small. We did find a few very dirty dishes upon arrival, as well as a towel with a large brown dirt splotch. All said, would definitely stay again given the price.

This was our second visit to this unit. It is fairly close to the village. The beds are comfortable (except the pull out sofa) and plentiful.

Excellent location
This place is great for those, whose primary goal is location. Really excellent! As for the other aspects - it's not too clean) My son has found someone’s socks and tequila bottle under queen bed. The sofa mattress in living room is not comfortable to sleep and the bunk bed is not safe to sleep there. With the kitchen it’s enough pans, cups and dishes, but only 5 forks and 2 teaspoons. But anyway I can rate this condo as 5, because it’s good place for short winter getaway for the great price!

Great Northstar weekend
Check-in with lockbox worked well. Property is as listed, the bunk beds are better for children. Don't expect a kitchen for doing extensive cooking: it works for breakfast and eggs. Walking distance to the lift/resort, no shuttle needed. Also tried the recreation center (which has a small entrance fee) with hottubs and pool. Only received a parking notice (not fine) on our last day as we had to leave the parking pass in the house after checkout. All in all a great place for a comfortable Northstar trip!

Great for the price!
The location and layout of the space was perfect for our group!
It was only a short 5-10 min walk to the gondola and Northstar Village, & the upstairs living room was spacious enough for the whole group to hang out in. We’d love to stay here again.

Cozy stay in Tahoe
We just left this Cabin in NorthStar and had a great time with our kids (11,8,6). The reviews prior were accurate in that the unit Is dated, the kitchen could be stocked with more essentials and the heaters in the bathrooms are broken. The heat in the cabin is also uneven - the room with the twin beds gets uncomfortably hot but the master bedroom remains cold.
We would consider staying here again for the proximity to NorthStar but have a couple suggestions:
1) add a few kitchen essentials - stockpot for boiling pasta, wooden spoons, new set of silicon servers (spoon, slotted spoon), aluminum foil or plastic wrap.
2) check out heater system and see why so uneven in rooms.
3) add draft stoppers to sliding deck doors - might help with insulation
4) do a deep clean of unit - I wiped down the silverware tray bc there were crumbs in it and the drawers probably could use wiping as well. Carpets probably need a good clean too.
Vacasa was wonderful and attentive to work with - we were pleased with their customer service!

Nice location but less than we paid for
The location is great but it wasn’t great enough to ignore the fact that the place was not nearly as clean as other places we have stayed. For the amount charged for cleaning fees we were very unhappy with the amount of dust and carpet spots we saw throughout the unit. All other aspects of the unit were totally fine.

great location, great price
I would have liked to have been able to walk form the location to the Northstar Village but there was just too much snow!! Can't really complain about that. This place would easily sleep six, though only having 2 bathrooms for that number might have been a squeeze, especially as one of them was en-suite. If that's my biggest 'complaint', it couldn't have been too bad!

Great location for ski vacation
The condo was well enough equipped, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed being close to the ski lifts with the good shuttle service. The fireplace with plenty of wood was a greatly appreciated asset as it was very cold during our stay. The rec center was another great asset we enjoyed with the saunas and outdoor hot tubs. The very cold downstairs area was another story and the heaters in both bathrooms were broken. We arrived during a blizzard, having driven most of the night and there some confusion about the lockbox and the instructions. Hopefully the heaters and the lockbox instructions have been corrected. I would have rated it 4 stars without those issues.
