About this house rental

Our cedar shingle house has everything you need for a Hamptons getaway. Ocean and Bay beaches are a short drive away, and the lovely village of East Quogue is just a five minute walk from the house. The farms and vineyards of the North Fork are close by, and the major Hamptons towns offer shopping and sightseeing, museums and parks to suit all ages and tastes. Fast wifi works all over the house, and several dedicated work spaces make remote work a pleasure.

Relax on our wide back porch, play games on the yard (we have croquet, badminton, bocci, and other lawn sports for your use), and cook out on the gas grill. The eat-in kitchen is ready for cooking or unwrapping take out from our lovely local sushi place. The dining and living rooms, and enclosed porches in the front and back provide great areas for spending time with friends and family or curling up with a book.

Three bedrooms, one with ensuite bath, occupy the upstairs. All have super quiet window AC units. The smallest bedroom has 2 single beds and the East facing room has a double bed and ample workspace. There is a fold-out love seat (single bed) on the first floor sun porch for an extra 7th person, or if you all need privacy for sleeping. The second bathroom is on the landing.

NOTE: Both of the bathrooms are up a flight of stairs! This is NOT an accessible house if you have mobility issues.

There are several comfortable work spaces in the house for remote work, and good wifi that is strong enough to handle a family of four zooming, streaming and working online. The first floor study is very private, and there are small work tables in each of the upstairs bedrooms and on the sun porch.

Local restaurants (sushi, Tex-Mex, Chinese, and Goldberg's Bagels) are steps away, or you can shop at the fantastic local butcher, wine shop, or farm stands, and cook out on the gas grill. The wide covered porch makes outdoor dining a breeze, even on rainy days.

Bikes, beach toys, and a portable crib are available for your use. We provide all linens, kitchen basics and beyond, and a lot of cozy places to relax.

***Please note that we only have parking for two cars. If you are traveling with more cars, we can help to arrange extra parking for you.

The host, Rachel, was great - very communicative and helpful. The house was as-listed and it was just what needed for the weekend. Location is very close to main street in East Quogue and is easy to find.

Nice location. Very interesting old house. Unfortunately part of our stay was really uncomfortable because of air quality issues due to the age of the house paired with high humidity levels. It didn't help that there is no AC in the 1st floor. By the 3rd day things got better as the owner delivered a humidifier and air cleaner but I wish my family didn't have to deal with that situation and that things were taken care of before our arrival. It felt like the house wasn't really ready for us. Nevertheless the owner was responsive the whole time and tried to rectify the situation.

Older home with lots of character. Very comfortable. Great location. Close to Montauk Hwy yet private and very quiet. 10 minute drive to Tiana Beach. Homeowner was very responsive. Would definitely recommend this home

We’ll equipped but one difficulty to note

This house was very well equipped—probably more kitchen equipment then we’ve had in any previous rentals. We knew the house had two bathrooms—one on the landing and one upstairs. What we didn’t know was that the stairs were so narrow and steep. My husband is 81 y/o and had great difficulty getting up and down the stairs safely. So—-this is a great house for young families but not accessible for elderly visitors.

We had a lovely stay again at Rachel’s place in East Quogue. It felt like a home away from home complete with books and games for our kids. It was a short ride to the beach and their little neighborhood was also lovely to walk around or ride bikes. We highly recommend to families!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Rachael’s East Quoque home. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed for a month long summer vacation. It is comfortable and clean with loads of extra games and books for any downtime. Best part are the nearby beaches, restaurants and local towns. We had the best time at Rachel’s place. The house is super charming and equipped with anything you need for cooking and entertainment. We really enjoyed the collection of games she had in the house too. She was super responsive with any questions that we had. We really appreciated that she made an exception for our small dog to come and stay with us. The area is pretty quiet and quaint and the beach is a short drive away. Rachel’s home was a cozy base to retreat to over the holidays. The house is full of books and games and toys and perfect for a family. There were lots of little nooks for everyone to retreat to and the kids loves running in the yard. The neighborhood is great for walks and bike rides for little ones and you can view the water at the end of the block. We had a cozy and lovely stay.

My husband and I recently stayed here with our 5 month old and had a really wonderful week. I had a few questions leading up to the trip and Rachel was very responsive and helpful. The house is very charming and looks just as it does in photos, including the backyard & porch. We would definitely stay again and already miss our mornings at the beach (10 min drive).

Charming house with all you need for a weekend at the beach. We spent most of our time enjoying the beach with the more than adequate beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards etc.) and lounging on the beyond perfect back porch. Would definitely recommend this eclectic getaway for travelers near and far.

Das Objekt war einfach wunderbar für uns als Familie. Das Haus ist in jeder Hinsicht vollständig ausgestattet, sehr schön eingerichtet und geräumig. Es passte einfach alles. Rachel war sehr hilfsbereit und hat vor unserer Anreise noch den Wunsch nach einem weiteren Fahrrad erfüllt, einfach spitze. Die Strände in der Umgebung sind herrlich. Of all of the properties we have rented through VRBO, this quaint country East Quogue home is our favorite! Fully equipped with amenities, the residence is within walking distance of a boat marina, local shops, and restaurants. Beautiful oceans beaches are nearby. The owner is a most pleasant and helpful person! We enjoyed our visit and hope to return!

Great house, great area

We stayed in the house 9 nights - with two boys age 12 + 14. The house is in very good condition. Its kept in its original look/feel which makes it very cosy. House is equipped with everything needed, including everything needed to go the beach. The back porch is excellent (looks new) and the garden is very well kept. The house is a short drive from several groceries and farm stands. We also frequented the local coffee shop in Quogue (5 min drive). There is several beaches close by. The house is also a good starting point from where to explore the rest of the area (Southhampton, East Hamptons, Montauk, North Shore etc.). Within 20 drive there several fine wineries to visit. Only downside is the lack of AC. We stayed in the house during a couple of very hot and humid days (+30c/86c) - lots of fanes around though. We would stayed there again.

I had a wonderful stay at this home for four nights. It is a charming, older home, in a great location. You can walk into a little town where there is a nice Italian market and a very good wine shop, and everything else is a short drive.

Loved it

I have 2 kids (elementary school) and family that lives nearby--this place was a perfect place for us all to get together. Lovely house with a lot of rooms, had everything we needed. Beaches are close by and easy to get to, lots of options for groceries (farm stand nearby, and plenty in nearby Hampton Bays). The yard and porch were perfect for entertaining my extended family at night. Great place overall.

This is a beautiful older home. It has three bedrooms with a delightful back porch which could accommodate many people. We enjoyed family dinners and early morning coffee overlooking the backyard. This is a perfect home for folks with small children since there are many games and toys to play with. It also came with beach umbrellas and chairs which were handy to have while swimming at several of the nearby beaches. We were very comfortable there. Warning: no air conditioning, but lots of electric fans were provided. I definitely would come back again and would recommend it to anyone.
