The fact that this is our third year in a row booking this home should tell you all you need to know! Each year it seems to get better, and we just love the house. Perfect for the needs of a very athletic family with a dog!

The place is the ok but it rained one day out of the 3 but all in all not bad. Place needs some upgrades but, the owner Eric was very nice and friendly and helpful. Just make sure you know your password for your apps so you can watch tv.

We stayed here with our 4 young boys for five days and felt right at home. This unit had all the amenities of home while also providing a beautiful landscape for little boy adventures with the dock/kayak and “duck island.” Easy 2 mins to ride to town. Owner is very kind and responsive. We’d love to stay again!

This propery was right on the river, with an outdoor space to enjoy it. Plenty of room to be comfortable for a weeks stay.

We had a great time here. House was clean and everything was as advertised. We loved using the kayak and canoe to paddle around the river! We would definitely stay here again.

The pictures of the full house are somewhat misleading, it is a ground floor apartment with people living above (hardly noticeable). The pictures make it look like a large outside space but not exactly the case. There was construction next door so there was unexpected noise but that's not permanent. Very close to town and lacrosse fields. Overall it was fine, small for 4 people but we weren't "home" much. There are enough beds for 6 to sleep but not enough space to relax/watch tv comfortably unless people sit at the dining table. No local TV that we could figure out for weather, etc but there was TV service for streaming. Property managers were very quick and responsive.

This small apartment has everything you need. It is great for eating in and doing laundry. We enjoyed the fire pit and the kayak and canoe. There are no frills, but it has everything you need. The owner was very kind.

The location was perfect for our 3 day stay with our family. The property was close to the village in Lake Placid, has access to Mill Pond. Our son enjoyed the properties Kayak. Was a perfect spot for our family and pups to stay on our hiking trip. Owner was easy to get a hold of. Had large kitchen and large dining area for the 6 of us. Very convenient to grocery stores- within 6 minutes. Yard was large with a fire pit and wooded area down by the dock on the pond.

This property is perfect if you’re there for a hockey tournament. It’s only 2 minutes from the Olympic center by car. It’s close to everything in the area.

Overall good stay. The location of the property is perfect. Quiet spot off the Main Street, with a nice back yard and a shaded dock on the pond. The house has a tenant upstairs, but they were not noticed heard during our family’s stay. The kitchen is a bit dated, but functional enough for a short stay.

We loved our stay! The apartment was clean. The beds were comfortable, and the entire floor plan was accommodating. The washer/ dryer were so convenient! We loved being able to step right in the back and having access to a canoe and a kayak- even got to see some otters on one of the rows. It's perfect walking distance to Mirror Lake and and easy drive into town. We already want to go back!

This apartment is very tastefully decorated, well equipped, and a joy to rent. The beds are comfortable with super soft sheets. It is cozy without being cramped, although six people would be a bit much. We were only three. There is plenty of closet and storage space. The tub/shower has plenty of hot water. The towels are very large and soft. It is quiet being off the street and feels quite private. Although it is on the river, trees block most of the view of the river. The owners are quick to respond to any emails and return phone calls promptly. I met Eric and hi is very nice. The location is excellent as it is just a few blocks from the center of town but is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Everything is on one floor and it would be a good choice for the mobility impaired as there are no steps to get into the apartment. We had no problems whatsoever and would probably stay here again if we returned to Lake Placid.

Overall we were very excited to stay at this property based on what we read on the posting, but upon arrival and throughout the week were very let down.
We spent the first couple hours cleaning cob webs, killing spiders and bugs. We gave the place a chance from there but woke up with spider bites. The front door and back sliding glass door both did not lock effectively. The owner’s response was not to worry because it was a safe neighborhood but when in a unknown neighborhood it’s hard to just take someone’s word for it. We experienced exposed wires coming out of two of the walls, the Adirondack chairs on the deck were sun rotted and falling apart, sliding glass door track had standing water, window screens were missing, and all the internal doors did not close properly. We contacted VRBO and the owner with pictures and videos of everything. Owner sent a few people in to take a look, but after one person left the front door wide open for hours while we were out of the unit, we requested no one else return without us present for safety reasons. Unfortunately at that point the owner blamed all the issues on us not allowing him access after that point and VRBO closed the case with no resolution. We just hope to allow others the truth about our stay for them to utilize in their future decisions.
Needless to say our excitement for a relaxing vacation in Lake Placid ended up being a significant disappointment with this property.

This apartment/half house was spacious and a perfect space for our family vacation. It's very close to everything in Lake Placid...easy walk, super quick drive to downtown. Very helpful that it was dog and kid friendly. Easy parking, easy communication with our host. Awesome access to the pond, kayak/canoe, bonfire pit with wood and s'mores supplies ready for us when we arrived. Our 4yo cried when we had to leave :-)
Two suggestions - it's relatively dim as others have mentioned, so more lighting would be helpful. The sliding glass door was difficult or broken to lock, and had some water inside that presented a challenge to keep the kid and dog away from. Two things that can likely be addressed for a perfect LP getaway spot.

We had a lovely stay as a family to attend the World Synchronized Skating Championship. The property was comfortable, well appointed and clean. The location was an easy 10 minute walk to the Olympic center and rinks.

We were very happy here and it was comfortable and had everything we needed for vacation. We brought our family dog. It’s close to everything and skiing at White Face is a short drive.

Spacious first floor apartment festively decorated made for a great family getaway(including our dog) for the holiday! Close enough to walk to restaurants and shops. Owner was very accommodating. Because it is a first floor apartment, you can hear walking coming from the second floor. Some members of our family didn’t really notice it and others did. Overall, a great stay! Thanks!

The communication with the host was great. They also responding very quickly to any of my questions. The house had everything we needed for our short getaway. We came to hike a couple mountains and just relax the rest off the time. Would definitely use this property again

We stayed for a girls weekend/birthday celebration and it was great! Everything from check in to check out was easy, the location was good for all of the activities we enjoyed, the home clean and comfortable. The outdoor area is nice, we sat on the dock and my sister used the kayak and really enjoyed it! We had a great time!

Was looking for a 2-bedroom place within walking distance to downtown.
House and interior were in good shape, clean. Older furnishings. Collection of vintage board games (Risk!) was a nice touch.
Quiet except for occasional noise from people (kids?) walking (stomping?) around upstairs.
Path to dock was uneven, over rocks though woods. Water around dock was overgrown with algae and weeds, so we didn’t use the canoe or kayak.
Overpriced, but similar to other inflated hotel and B&B rates I found.
All in all, a nice stay.

You know it's a particularly great VRBO when you end up booking next year's stay before leaving! We have stayed in Lake Placid many times before and this is a perfect location for a family with a dog. The backyard is huge and the little dock with Adirondack chairs is heavenly and peaceful. The stars at night are so bright and the Milky Way shines so nicely. It's a very walkable neighborhood with a fantastic restaurant (Lisa G's) within 5 minutes and the rest of town within 10 minutes. There are sidewalks everywhere so walking is safe. We loved the opportunity to paddle - exploring the waterway was just great. Riding my bike to Mirror Lake for morning swims was fantastic - ride uphill to warm up, then an easy 3-minute ride back downhill afterwards. The house was all set up for anything you could need - the kitchen was great and had doors that shut (excellent if you have a greedy dog who steals food!). The beds and couches were super-comfortable. So convenient having laundry and a dishwasher. My only feedback is that it was a little dim and the apartment could use a bit for light for evening reading.
As for Lake Placid itself it is the perfect vacation destination if you love being active. We were so happy enjoying all the scenery and great swimming, biking, and mountain biking. And we barely even scratched the surface - of course there is hiking, fly fishing, and so much more! We met Eric and it was a pleasure to meet him.

Idyllic property just outside downtown Lake Placid.

This place is in a perfect location - easy walking distance to downtown Lake Placid and all the shops and restaurants there but quietly set on the pond away from the street. There are lots of things to do - from canoeing the pond to a nice selection of board games inside. Beds were passable if not quite comfy and the rooms are a bit dark, but all in all it's a nice place and I'd stay here again.

Cute space with water access
Our check in was easy, spacious lower apartment with room for everyone & dog friendly. Close to town but felt very private! Loved sitting on the dock with serene views of the lake. Only a 1 person kayak & canoe to use, which is hard with kids. It was a very peaceful & relaxing stay!

Great location and pond
Perfect location near town. We took a 4-mile walk around Mirror Lake and drove about 40 mins to kayak on Fish Creek and Upper Saranac.
The place was clean, fully equipped, and more spacious than the photos look. Also the “pond” was a lot bigger than we expected! We were out in their kayak and one of our own for 1.5 hours, albeit at a leisurely pace.

Great location and space!
We met the owners the day we checked in as the rental space is the downstairs floor and they live upstairs, they were super nice! The pictures don’t do justice on this rental at all! It’s absolutely perfect for friends, families, etc. only about a 20 min walk to get to the main stores in town or a 5 minute drive. The fire pit is a must and hanging out down by the dock. 10/10 recommend.

Enjoyable
This location is close to nearly everything but far enough away so that you won't feel overwhelmed with traffic. The lake is awesome. It was fun getting out in a canoe and seeing some wild life. It was also great to be able to walk to the village and other locations taking in the sights.
