About this house rental
This is a fisherman;s paradise with a boat lift, and you are only minutes from the waters of Pine Island Sound. This area is know for some of the best fishing for snook, redfish, trout, grouper, snapper pompano, cabia and more. Make your way to the north past Sanibel, Captiva and Cayo Costa to the waters around Boca Grande Pass, and find the largest tarpon population in the world. After all of that wears you out, why not just relax and fish the sandy flats and mangroves always just minutes away. There are also fishing charter services available nearby.
Cayo Costa State Park and Sanibel Island have some of the most beautiful beaches on the West Coast of Florida. Lets not forget to mention some of most gorgeous sunsets in the world. Local musicians can be found almost every night of the week playing at many of the excellent local restaurants and bars on the island. This whole area gives you the laid back feeling of 'Old Florida' so that everything you do can be on 'Island Time'. No stop lights or fast food here.
Kavaking is wonderful here also, and kayak rentals are available. Bicycle rentals are also close by with great bike paths the length of the island. This well kept canal front home you will be enjoying has everything you need, with an open floor plan living and dining area, and a large sun room screened in area. Nice view of the canal thru large windows and glass sliding doors along the canal side of home. Out there is a new gas grille and a fish cleaning station over at the boat lift. If you have a boat, bring it along and use the boat lift, and there is room on the property to park you boat trailer. The home is also

We spend a great time on the water over the 4th of July weekend. Our family lives in the area so we were able to meet up with them and have a great time together. Home was located in a beautiful area with easy access to boating, swimming and fishing!

The house is very clean and accommodating Boat lift was great and access to fishing and play was a short ride. We have already booked our next stay.

We stayed here in St. James City for 3 weeks. The home was large enough for us and our small pets. It is on a canal leading directly to Pine Island Sound in about 5 minutes. Has most everything you need for a comfortable stay with comfortable furnishings. Bring a boat or rent one from Monroe Canal Marina. We knew the fishing grounds and caught Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Ladyfish, Mangrove Snapper along with some other multi species running the area. Quiet neighborhood. Expect some construction to homes and businesses from Hurricane Ian. Hosts are easy to communicate with and accommodated anything we asked for. Would love to return!

House is very nice. We have gone her multiple times and is perfect for boating and fishing. There is a covered hoist. Location is perfect for getting to the big water and beaches in the sound. Bring your boat!

Very nice newly renovated home with covered boat dock set up that worked great for our 22 ft boat, also outstanding location to get to open water! Home had all that we needed for a nice 3 day fishing trip. Laura was super responsive and flexible, ready to go back!

Great fishing house
If you like to fish/stay right in the water, this is the house for you! Ample dock space to fish from, or pull your boat into. The Covered dock and boat lift is awesome. We brought our boat and launched at very nearby Monroe Canal Marina. We drove the boat to several close by awesome fishing spots—redfish pass in North Captiva, Sanibel Bridge, and Blind pass. We caught grouper and snook. By boat, you are one canal away from Phuzzy’s Boat Shack restaurant also Lighthouse restaurant at Port Sanibel Marina and Grandma Dots, all great restaurants by boat !
Fully stocked kitchen, clean home and lots of outdoor seating to have the great water view when drinking coffee in the morning. Very quiet peaceful neighborhood. Laundry—clean washer and dryer. A/C worked well, just make sure you have sun room porch door closed (push close all way to right).
Great for locals for a fishing stay-cation as well as those out of town. Will recommend to friends

Nice getaway
The property itself was nice. Quiet neighborhood on the canal. The kitchen was nice and nicely equipped with everything you might need. The sunroom was a nice relaxing place to eat. The decor was not to my taste (out of date) However, I was not there for the decor.
The only negative that I would say was: If you are a TV person (which we are), the channel selection was awful, like 7 or 8 off the wall channels. I would recommend the owner invest in a better TV/cable choice/package with more channels. If you have children, there won't be a lot of choice.
Overall, a nice place to stay though. We really enjoyed it overall.

The pool is great, the house is roomy and comfortable; the dock regularly visited by manatees. Very classy, clean, convenient.

Perfect for a fishing trip get away
The house was very clean. We came with a boat. The boat lift was perfect for our 22ft bay boat. It took a bit for the A/C to cool the house. Other than that it was a wonderful stay.

Stopover en route to Keys
We stopped for two nights on our journey to the Keys, to rendezvous with two more adult members of the family The location is ideal for fishermen towing boats and kayaks, parking is easy and generous. The canal in back is a delight to look at and easy to use for fishing. Inside was clean and comfortable with a large well-provisioned kitchen and plenty of seating to lounge in. The main bathroom is a Jack and Jill between the two bedrooms so must be shared for showering, and there is a separate half bath off the rear of the house. We had a lovely stay and would use the house again, we have been visitors to Pine Island since the 80’s and really like the area.

Awesome stay
The location was wonderful. Saw manatees in the canal very day we were there. Back patio and deck were nicely landscaped. Pleasant stay. The St James City area is very friendly

Not as advertised for sure
Unless you have a boat, get a hotel or other rental. Take price down about 10-15%, it'd be about right

Nice house to stay in
Very nice accommodations for a weekend of fishing. The house was clean when we arrived. Communication with the property manager was easy and cordial. Just a breeze. A+

Location/Home Update
This was a good location for boating and fishing. The home needs some serious updating and it's disappointing not to have a pool in the community. You have to drive 15 minutes away to a city pool, pay a fee and it's closed on Sunday. The cable TV only gets a few channels. Breaker tripped when we used the stove, microwave and coffee maker all at the same time, not a electrician but I'm sure this is not good. The master shower door barely closed due to rust build up and corrosion in the track. Just needs to TLC and it would be a better home to stay in.

Weekend Baby Shower
My wife and I invited our parents from varying states to join us in Florida for a small get together to celebrate the birth of our daughter due in July. It was a wonderful experience. We caught fish, saw manatees, and enjoyed the serene beauty of western florida.

Great neighborhood
The home was clean, living space was nice,it was not 3bed, 2bath 2nd bath was a converted closet with no privacy Location is great and loved the covered lift, but we had requested 2 wks prior to check in at 1,when we arrived cleaning lady still was there, we were given a code for garage key pad which never worked, nor did the remotes for doors, there was no offer for anyone to come to see if it could be fixed. We managed ok but would probably not rent again

Problems and poor communication
When we arrived the doors where locked with no access. Owners seemed confused what property was being rented. Hvac was off and extremely hot. When turned on still reading 80 degrees after several hours. Mold
Problems in the home when we explained to the owner she said no problems and if we wanted any money back to be out at 10am. No help with ac or concern of mold issues causing it hard to breathe. We left a day early, again owner didn’t seem to care only about receiving her full dollar amount! Also no toilet
Paper or
Paper towels to top it all off!
Very disappointing. We paid A lot for one day when booked entire weekend due to the condition of the home.

Winter Escape
We rented this property for a winter get away from the northern cold and snow. Everything listed in explaining the property in the listing is correct. The house was great. The area where the house is located was great and the neighbors we met were very friendly and helpful seeing this was our first time in St James City. My wife found the kitchen well set up for cooking many of our meals. The canal off the back of the property was a good place to try fishing and just sitting and watching the Manatee family that seemed to like being there. Even Cody our yellow lab enjoyed his daily walks and all the new things he could smell. We wanted to re-rent for next year but unfortunately we were too late. This area has great weather and therefore is popular for snow birds.

This place was everything we were looking for. Quiet, relaxing week on the water. The 2 boat lifts made boating a cinch! Patricia was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Perfect for a week of family boating!
We absolutely loved our time at the St James City house! We brought our boat which was safely stored on one of the two boat lifts each evening. We fished, went to Capriva and Sanabel Beaches, went to Cayo Costa. It was a great week. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. We’ll be back!

Saint James City stay
Enjoyed our stay. Large house with a big kitchen. Porpoises and manatee play in the canal. You can watch the sunset from the dock. The home is close to local restaurants and shops. Just a short boat ride to Sanibel. Our host was very friendly and responsive.

short distance to the bay and off shore
We love to fish and this place is just a couple of minutes to the Pine Island sounds. A few more minutes through red fish pass and you will be in the Gulf. My husband and I caught nice trout and plenty of Grouper and Snapper keepers. The manatees and dolphins at your back door. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Ms. Pat makes sure everything is running good. Hope I get a chance to come back next year.

Relaxing Vacation on Pine Island
Location of house is great. Boat docks are great but unfortunately we weren’t able to bring a boat. We were able to take a fishing trip with a guide and he was able to pick us up at the house by boat. Able to clean fish on the dock and grill out on the like new gas grill. Unlimited fishing from the dock just off the back deck/patio, plus enjoyed watching the Manatee family everyday. Kitchen very well equipped. Washing machine broken during our stay, but owner made arrangement to have it fixed. Laundry mat, Winn Dixie and CVS about 8 miles away. Great end of the island for bike riding.

Hope to return next year.
Home was quiet, clean and comfortable.
Thanks for sharing your little part of heaven with us.
