Beautiful Ocean View on the west side of Oahu near Makaha Beach.
ABOUT OUR CONDO: Meticulously clean! This is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 1 bath condo with the best ocean view in the complex. It is nicely appointed with many comfort features including ceiling fans and air conditioning. Beds are comfy with dressers and closets in each room. The kitchen offers a dishwasher and every cooking amenity. There are laundry facilities inside the unit including a front-loading washer and dryer. We offer 500 mbps high speed internet and FREE WIFI. We have a Samsung smart TV in the living room. A crib and high chair are available for the little ones. Our unit is super quiet. We are in our own three-unit building so we are fortunate in that we do not share walls with any other units, just one neighbor above and another vacation rental below. We have great neighbors too! You are provided with a designated parking stall and plenty of guest parking. Please read the description of each of our condo amenities.
WHY CHOOSE OUR CONDO: We offer a unique experience to every traveler. We do our best to make sure your stay is excellent and perfect and catered specifically to your family/friends. We want you to feel welcomed the moment you walk in the front door. The condo lacks nothing a traveler would ever need while on vacation. You could literally arrive with just the clothes on your back (and a bathing suit) and find our condo well stocked for your entire stay. We provide toiletry items as well as coffee, tea and water…the essentials for survival…lol!. We have boogie boards, beach toys, snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, towels, and a beach umbrella. We even have a child sized paddle board and portable surf racks to transport it on top of your rental car. We have games, cards, puzzles, and fun stuff for the family. We are always buying new things and keeping the place updated. We buy the best sheets and they are replaced often. We are meticulous about cleanliness-this is very important when renting a private home. We insure that our condo will be well stocked and clean and cool as we offer air conditioning and ceiling fans. Please read our reviews to find out why we specialize in awesomeness :-).
OUR AREA IN OAHU: We are located in Makaha. We are on the leeward side of the island on the Waianae coast, home to the Spinner Dolphins. We are one mile from world famous Makaha Surfing Beach and 5-10 minutes from several other popular west side beaches including Yokohama Bay and Poka’i Bay (child and baby friendly). Golfing is only one mile down the road at The Makaha Valley Country Club and Golf Course. You can swim with the turtles and snorkel nearby. There is a beach activity rental spot nearby at Hale Nalu. This is a bedroom community that is far away from it all, which makes it a great budget friendly place to stay, yet the whole island is accessible to you by car in less than 2 hours (1 hour to Waikiki). There is no right or wrong place to stay on the island. It's a matter how much you want to spend and your personal preference. Makaha is considered the country. This is down home, unpretentious Hawaii. If you like the quiet mountain backdrop, rest and relaxation, topped off with a fantastic ocean view, and uncrowded yet safely lifeguarded beaches then this is the place for you. We are located just 20 minutes north of Ko'Olina, home to Aulani the Disney Resort. The west side has changed a lot in the past 13 years since the opening of the Disney resort and is experiencing tourism more than ever. We have spectacular beaches and one of the best hikes on the island to Ka’ena Point. The Waianae Boat Harbor is nearby where you can take a day cruise to snorkel and swim with dolphins. Enjoy a family friendly day at the Ko'Olina Lagoons (Disney), eat dinner at Roy's, The Monkey Pod or any of the other great restaurants that are in the Ko'Olina resort area. Nearby is the town of Kapolei where you can enjoy excellent dining, go to the movies, shop at Target or buy organic groceries at Down to Earth - a Hawaiian organic grocery chain, not to mention the newer west side mall – Ka Makana Ali’i. There are a couple of great Luau's, Germaine's and Paradise Cove. But do not fret, we have some great local restaurants in Makaha and super close (5-10 min.) such as Coquito’s, Hannara, The Spicy House, and the Beach House By 604, just to name a few. They are small and simple (some might call hole-in-the-wall) but boy is the food good. “Da west side is da best side” as the locals say. We agree!
OUR CONDO COMPLEX: Makaha Valley Plantation is the name of the condo complex. We are located one mile from famous Makaha Surfing Beach. We are a low rise 3 story complex comprising of many buildings. We are in our own 3-unit, ocean view, building. We are a gate guarded complex with stringent 24/7 security. The staff is super friendly and you are usually greeted with a wave or shaka. The landscaping is lush and green. There are peacocks (and peahens) that freely roam the grounds and roosters, lots of roosters. We have two swimming pool areas each with a large pool, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. There are showers and bathrooms at each pool area. Each pool area offers a party cabana which can be reserved for a private party or celebration. There are charcoal barbecues near the cabanas and in various locations throughout the complex as well as near our unit. We have a tennis court and even tennis rackets. There is a basketball court very close to our unit (we have a basket ball). A few units in the complex offer an ocean view and ours is one of them. During whale season (Dec. - May) whales can be seen from our lanai with the provided binoculars. The island bus stop is right in front of the guard shack (www.thebus.org) and will take you anywhere on the island. To visit the complex website and read more about the Makaha Valley Plantation and its amenities please visit www.makahavalleyplantation.com
OAHU VS. THE OTHER ISLANDS: Oahu is always a good idea. Oahu offers virtually everything except volcanos! You can be in the crazy hustle and bustle of tourist busses, trolley cars, and throngs of people in Waikiki - to the quiet, mountain backdrop and local chill of the west - to the huge winter waves of the North shore - and if you like hoity-toity then Kailua is the place to visit. There are plenty of garden areas, beautiful quiet and not-so-quiet beaches, and spectacular snorkeling. Of course, Honolulu is the capitol of Hawaii and it is located on our island of Oahu, so one may say that Oahu is the main island. Most of what the other islands offer, you can find on Oahu but everything Oahu offers can’t necessarily be found on the other islands. Oahu has no active volcano’s though. There are also no land animals on Oahu that can hurt you while hiking or otherwise. There are no wild boars, no snakes, and no rabies. The other islands are beautiful and each has its own gift. We love Oahu because of the diversity from one side of the island to the other.
WHO AND WHY: Tell us your who and your why. Tell us who is visiting. Who are you traveling with? Is this your first time on the island or have you been to Waikiki several times and now you just want to get away. How did you come upon Makaha? The more you tell us the easier it is to make sure we are a good fit for one another, namely that you will be comfortable in our condo and in our area. We do not discriminate. We just want to make sure our place is right for you. When we get all of that info it also tells us that you had to do a bit of reading to get this far and we know that you know everything there is to know about our condo. We get 5 star reviews because we make sure that our place is a good fit for you:-)

Beautiful property and condo. The best stocked we’ve ever seen. Just bring earplugs for those early morning roosters and peacocks ready to start the day.

We had a wonderful time at Natalie and Mike's condo. We were there with 4 adults and a three year old and it was the nicest and best equipped condo we have had on our travels so far. Natalie and Mike have really thought of everything: starting with getting us some fresh food and drinks in the fridge for our late arrival, continuing with any children's equipment we found there (buggy, handcart, children's life jackets in various sizes,
children's surfboards, a box full of beach toys and new toys that they had bought especially for our daughter, children's crockery), a large cupboard equipped with towels of all sizes, beach bags, 4 beach chairs, parasol, well-stocked pots, crockery, spices, hygiene articles such as shampoo, conditioner and body foam were there. The condo is super clean and we especially enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets on the great lanai overlooking the ocean. We were even able to watch whales one morning during breakfast - an unforgettable experience! The location is great if you like it a bit quieter and more authentic. Our little daughter particularly liked the free-range chickens, cockerels and peacocks and the pool.
Natalie was available for us at all times and gave us wonderful tips and ideas for our excursions. This condo is equipped with heart and mind. Mahalo Natalie & Mike !

A great big thank you to Natalie and Mike for providing such an awesome condo. It was my first trip to Hawaii and was so impressed with both the location of condo and being able to experience the true Hawaiin atmosphere. Live with Aloha :)

We had a wonderful vacation in Makaha. Natalie was amazing and very responsive in making sure we had the best vacation possible. The condo was exactly as listed and super comfortable. If you are looking for something a bit less busy than the south or east side, this is it. The local beach was awesome and food choices abound. As this was the first time to Oahu, we weren't disappointed .

The best stay ever. We spent lovely 10 days at Natalie’s and Michael’s place. We felt like living at family home. Natalie provided immediate support exceeding top notch concierge service. Actually we felt like Natalie was like invisible host assisting in everything. The condo was extremely clean with all amenities needed for a normal life. The kitchen is fully equipped, we could prepare two dinners at the same time. The place is completely safe with a gorgeous view for sunsets. We would love to come here back.

A little bit off road but so much to expérience;
This is a no brainer ; a full condo like home with lanlord that is above expectation; Nathalie and Mike are full star host !
It is a residential area very well protected ; very easy to go by and enjoy all the island witch is at the max 90 min away from the condo; we had a great time

Well appointed condo on lovely, landscaped grounds. You will have everything you need, including tons of beach gear and towels to spare. This is a great place to get away from it all.

We had an amazing visit at Makaha Valley Plantation and are counting the days until we come back. First, Natalie is an AMAZING host! From the very first interaction she was helpful and attentive. She shared recommendations and educated us about the West side and all it has to offer. We loved spending our time here away from the tourists and alongside the locals, with the island’s best beaches (Makaha, Keawaula, Pokai) and amazing sunset views. It’s the Island’s best kept secret - west coast is the best coast! The condo had everything we needed, it’s in a safe location with the grounds impeccably kept up and 2 nice pools, complete with roosters and beautiful peacocks (tip: ear plugs are advised unless you like early AM wake-ups). Everything was clean and Natalie has all the island staples you need (towels, boogie boards, chairs, numerous hooks for towels and such, etc.). There are a few great restaurants (Aloha Poke, Beach House 604, Coquitos) just a short drive away (tip: while there is a bus, we recommend having a rental car while visiting). While we came to work remotely for few weeks, we found plenty of time to take advantage of all the activities on the west side (hikes, surfing lessons, farmers market, standup paddle-boarding and even the Buffalo Big Board surf competition) and then spent our weekends exploring the other areas of the island. If you love beaches, amazing views and being away from the throngs of tourists for a relaxing getaway, then this is your spot. We can’t say enough good things about Natalie, the condo and the west side, mahalo mahalo mahalo!

Natalie made our stay absolutely marvelous! I loved our view of the ocean and of course the sound of the peacocks and roosters every morning!! I’ll miss being there in such luxury! Thank you so much !!

Wonderful stay
The apartment had everything one could imagine and more. It was very comfortable, well organized and had everything we could want for a pleasurable Hawaiian stay (beach umbrellas, chairs, snorkeling equipment, inflatable rafts, basketball, etc.).
The local beach, frequented mainly by locals, was one of the loveliest we visited on the island. The owners were available and most helpful prior to and during our arrival.
Everything was great!

This home was a lovey place to relax after a long day of work, and a fun base for our weekends off. With the beach a short drive away, quality food options near at hand (we especially liked Aloha Poke, Barbecue Kai, Spinners, and A&G), and some hikes within reach, we kept ourselves busy. The kitchen was well stocked with standard spices and the tools and appliances we needed. The only real downside was the pool access was too restrictive (said to be for covid reasons) to be of any use to us but with the chairs provided, the beach, though too far for a quick after work swim, was an acceptable alternative. Thank you very much!

Top marks all around. But especially for Natalie who is as thoughtful and helpful as any host I’ve ever dealt with. She obviously has given a lot of thought to what would make for a comfortable visit. The unit is very well equipped and well organized. She also owns a label maker and isn’t afraid to use it. For once I didn’t have to say to myself “I wonder what this switch does.”
The unit is in a well-maintained condo development which is about 1 mile inland and in an elevated location which gives a wonderful view of the ocean. It is an easy drive to Makaha Beach Park as well as other nearby beaches. Also within a short drive are a couple of good-sized markets for food shopping. We also took advantage of the location to do the hike out to Ka’ena Point.
All in all it was a great choice for our first visit to Oahu’s west side.

Natalie & Mike thought of every detail - and then some! We spent a month in this incredible home, and enjoyed every moment. The photos of the condo show the relaxed beach-themed feel - and really appreciated the washer/dryer, beach items (Tommy Bahama chairs, umbrella, wagon, boogie boards, towels - and more towels, sand castle tools, and more!), fully stocked kitchen (including rice cooker, baggies, storage containers for your leftovers, etc.), stocked mini-fridge with water and ice and condiments, an amazing book of contacts for activities, restaurants, etc., and puzzles, games, DVD player, Netflix, Disney+, and more. This was truly a home away from home!
We were pleasantly surprised about the security of the gated community, as well as the friendliness and alertness of the staff. The photos also can't explain the ease of relaxing in the gentle cool breeze so you don't need the AC (even though one is available), the melodious calls of the many birds on and around the property (including peacocks and wild birds!), the delicious perfume of plumeria that is blooming all around the property, as well as the beauty of the many flowers and plants around the property that makes for lots of places for photo ops!
And the Makaha Beach is right down the road! We went almost every day, snorkeling (south side we saw many different fish), boogie boarding in the waves, and just floating. Most days saw a Honu (sea turtle) cruising by. We traveled all over the island during our stay, and while Makaha is a bit far from the main action of what you read about Waikiki, North Shore, and other activities, we got a better sense of the island by traveling around - tropics on the east "windward" side (Kailua & Kaneohe), and dry tropics on the "leeward" side (which is where Makaha is). Being outside of any in this gated community was more peaceful than being in the heart of Honolulu - and with it just a drive away, we had the best of all worlds.
This is the 12th time I've been to Hawaii. I have family there, lived there for 2 years, and then did my college internship on the Big Island. In my visits to Oahu, we have stayed in Honolulu, in Hawaii Kai, in Waikiki, and on the North Shore. Of all those, I will pick Natalie & Mike's place again as my first choice when going back for a visit. Hope this helped you choose a great place to stay! Mahalo nui loa 🌺

Absolutely the best short term rental experience we've had. Natalie (host) is extremely responsive, super helpful, and has such a great condo. We'd stay there again in a heart beat.
We've been and stayed all over Hawaii, and I have to say that Makaha is one of the prettiest places. Breathtaking mountains surround the property which is just a short 30 minute walk or less than 5 minute drive from what I'd say is the best beach in Hawaii. Makaha Beach has the softest sand, great waves for kids to play in or surfers to shred, and is picture perfect. This is definitely not Waikiki, but if you want a more authentic local Hawaiian experience, here it is.
Peacocks freely roam the property like they own it, which was one of the most amazing things to experience. The unit probably has one of the best views on the property and is super quiet. We had the windows open the entire trip and never had issues with traffic noise or otherwise. So great waking up to birds chirping, roosters crowing, or peacocks honking.
The unit was so well stocked, that other than a few Costco/grocery store runs, there wasn't much else that we needed or that it was lacking. They've clearly thought out everything, from USB charging ports to boogie boards to beach chairs to all the cookware/essentials needed for a comfortable stay. Photos didn't do justice to the lovely decor and interior. Felt like home.

We were so pleased with our accommodations on this trip! The condo is wonderfully appointed with everything you might need for a stay in paradise! You just need to bring your clothes! Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer were included. They also had beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, snorkeling gear...everything you need for a trip to the beach. The condo itself is tastefully decorated and comfortable! The grounds are beautifully kept and the view of the Pacific from the lanai is outstanding! Natalie, the owner, was delightful to work with. This is a fantastic place to stay! We'd love to return!

Perfect condo with a perfect view of breathtaking sunset
We decided to take a break from all the chaos in the mainland and booked a condo on the west side of Oahu. We were delightedly surprised from the moment we walked in. The unit was so clean and well stocked with kitchen, bathroom, laundry supplies. We bought a few necessities like toilet paper and other toiletries but we didn’t even have to use them. There were beach umbrellas, chairs, boogie board, cooler, etc. You name it. Natalie and Michael have thought of everything you need for a perfect stay. The peacocks were an added bonus as they freely roam around the property in addition to the breathtaking sunset. There were also numerous walking trails in the mountains nearby as well as the gorgeous quiet beaches. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will come back to stay here again. Mahalo Michael and Natalie for sharing your lovely home. God bless you.

Me, my fiancee and a friend of ours stayed for two weeks. The condo had everything we could ask for, and more. The west side is not touristy like the area around Honolulu and that is great.

Fantastic!
You know that the property is going to be great just by the listing; She fills out every section with such detail. Natalie is such a gracious host. She not only goes above and beyond in her property but also with her assistance and communication. The property is in a fantastic part of the island. This side of the island is more relaxed and does not have nearly as many tourists as the east side. The area has plenty of fantastic restaurants and amazing beaches. The property is stocked with just about every possible thing you could need. I would book this place every time we go back.

A 6 out of 5
Natalie and Michaels beautiful condo exceeded all of our expectations and heads up will spoil you for future Home Away rentals. Literally every last detail was taken care of, right from the 100% accurate listing to all of the beach gear you will possibly ever need to the personal welcome touches, the groceries to get us started to the instantaneous replies to our questions plus checking in half way through the week. Oh and let’s not forget all of the info compiled on the Makaha area to the detailed instructions for each of the major electronics and appliances. The list goes on ... if you think you might need something, don’t worry Natalie and Mike have already thought about it for you. We already talked ...we will be back as soon as possible. The Makaha Beach Park is one of the best beaches on Oahu and with Natalie and Mike’s place there is no point in planning a vacation anywhere else!

Comfortable and secure
This property felt very secure and welcoming for our family. We wanted a place that wasn't too busy and close to a beach. This was perfect! The condo is decorated so tropical and cute. Loved all of Natalie's special touches from the Welcome sign on the napkin holder to our basket of goodies upon arrival. Will keep this property in my favorites for future trips to Oahu.
