We were very impressed with the condition of the unit, everything was very clean and it was well provisioned. The view from the deck was fantastic and the infinity pool as well. Fantastic condo for our stay! We enjoyed being able to walk into town (hills are FUN :), relax by the pool after a day at the beach, use all the beach chairs, floats, and grill was an added bonus! Loved that the terrace had screens to allow fresh air, the breezes and no bugs.

Nice place with good veiws
This condo was perfect for our stay. While walking there is a bit of workout it is definitely close enough to do it. The house was clean and had way more kitchen supplies than I have ever seen at any other rental on St. John. I would gladly stay here again.

Stay with David
The property is fantastic. Great kitchen comfortable living room fabulous screened in deck. It’s got everything. A great grill great air conditioning great Wi-Fi every beach item you’ll need including snorkel gear. But the best part about this place is David the owner. Communication was constant. He sent use a great introductory letter outlining everything you need to know. And then he encourages you to call him which I did and he provides fantastic advice. He works with you to check in early if it’s possible. It was for us thank you. My wife and her sister loved the pool. It was OK for me but I’m not a pool guy. But I will see the views at sunset from the pool can’t be beat. One thing it is on a steep steep hill. Parking can be a challenge. We all were able to make the walk up and down the hill to town but I gotta tell her you’ll be out of breath. This place is worth every penny you pay for it and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. And I probably will because I love Saint John

Amazing Property
The property was clean and perfect for my family and I (four total). The views were spectacular and the pool was a great place to end our day. The hills getting up the property look treacherous but they weren’t too difficult to navigate or walk up, even for my 55 year old mother. Thank you David for sharing your home with us!

Nice condo but location was difficult
The condo itself was nice but the location was very difficult. The hill that the condo was something out of San Francisco and the cabs did not want to drop us off close. The community pool was not clean enough for us to swim in, looked as if it had not been skimmed in quite a while. The condo did not have washer/dryer so we had to use the same beach towels for several days and dry them as best as we could outside. The tvs were not working when we arrived but owner did get someone over to fix the day after we reported it. Overall the condo was newly renovated and nice and had a well stocked kitchen.

Cool Out Condo
This spot was everything we needed. Large bedrooms (and beds!), balcony areas, and bathrooms. Clean and updated. Great views and convenient to town and the grocery store. We actually enjoyed the hilly walk in and out of town. The pool was a hit with all of us and we enjoyed lounging with the resident iguana there ;) Would stay again.

The perfect place to celebrate turning 40
Took my family to the island for my 40th birthday. Property was absolutely wonderful. David was great at answering any questions I had prior to my trip. The welcome PDF was perfect and spells out everything you need to know before arrival. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Would return again in a heartbeat!

Great property with nice amenities. Easy check in check with owner and he was very responsive to our requests/questions. Made us feel at home. Excellent location, but hill to walk to location was serious and shouldn’t be underestimated. Owner did try to disclose, but you don’t know until you experience. Great place!

Great getaway place!
Our first trip to St John was excellent! I heard about “the hill”, but know we KNOW the hill very well.
The walk into town is short but make sure you wear comfortable shoes. We took a taxi to and from the bays each day but it was a great pleasurable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mango Numba in Cruz Bay, St John USVI. The owner was very easy to work with and provided excellent information and tips about St John. We have been coming to STJ for many years and this was another great visit for us all. PS. The beds are super comfy, some of the best we have ever encountered in a rental.

Perfect villa!
This villa was perfect for our family vacation! Very centrally located and we could easily walk to nearby restaurants! David was very responsive and answered all of my questions! The parking can get tricky (parking on a hill!) if the nearby villas are full, but we knew that from other reviews. Great views from the deck and pool! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

really enjoyed this property. big plus was the kitchen, which was huge and fully stocked. having access to netflix and prime, also a big plus. I loved the tiled shower in master bedroom, which was also large with a window. the view from balcony was fine. didn't like the screened in porches at first, but then was grateful for them after I saw all the mosquitos hanging out trying to get in. with the screens we could open all the balcony doors and let that wonderful island breeze in, without worrying filling the place with mosquitos. the pool is beautiful with a great view. my favorite time was waking up at sunrise, and going to the pool deck to sit with my coffee. can't beat that view. the individual A/C units in each room, are also the way to go. this was a very modern 2/2 unit, nicely decorated, with a ton of supplies, inc. everything for beach--chairs, umbrella, coolers. the parking was tricky (at a severe incline) but you get use to it. next time I'll be sure to bring bug spray, because the no-see-ums will eat you up at the beach.

Very nice condo with a large well stocked kitchen. David was very helpful and responsive.
The drive or walk up the hill is really crazy but provides a lot of laughs! If you go to the left when leaving the walk is nicer and not as steep. Turn to the right to see more of the local neighborhoods.
We rented a vehicle and went to the beaches. We walked to the store and to restaurants.

Great Place - Very Clean!
We stayed at Mango Numba 5 a couple of weeks ago; and let me tell you, it is a charming place! With stunning views, comfortable beds, and clean, modern amenities, this is a wonderful place to stay (especially if you rent a Jeep!).
David went out of his way to be an incredible host. We were there with a small group of people for our wedding, and David was extremely responsive to all of our questions and needs. We will definitely be back!

This was a lovely condo with amazing views and had everything we needed
Our party of four had an amazing stay here. The condo had everything we needed with stunning views. The hill is a hill or as we called it, the Matterhorn. We walked each day into Cruz bay and back each night and had many laughs climbing up and down the hill. We also saw many interesting things each time we walked into Cruz bay including lots of iguanas and peacocks flying into trees. The condo was in a great location as we walked from the condo into Cruz Bay, Mongoose Junction, Salomon Beach, and Honeymoon beach. This was a great condo to stay in due to location, had everything we needed for our stay, clean, and very spacious.

Great Stay in Cruz Bay!
Our party of four stayed seven nights at Mango Numba 5. The accommodations were perfect and the condo was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. David was very quick to respond to every question we had from the beginning of the booking all the way through our return home.
The hill is a hill. Parking was not bad after getting used to navigating the narrow roads. Yes it does take some effort to walk it, but we made the trip up and down every day after driving back from the beach and parking the car for the night. Quite honestly, we looked forward to the challenge of the uphill after dinner every night and we would laugh it off back at the condo.
The updated condo is very spacious with lots of natural light and a great view. The beds are very comfortable and the AC worked great. Bathrooms are huge and clean.
We had a great week as always in St. John. It is the location and quality of David's condo that made the week all the more fun. I would recommend this to anyoone who would want to stay in a quiet area in Cruz Bay!

Beautiful home!
We just got back from a 4 night stay at Davids place. It was absolutely beautiful. The view was stunning, the pool rarely had people in it which made it feel as if it were private! The house has 2 screened in balconies, one of the master bath and the other off the living/dining room, a grill, nice patio furniture, stocked with beach toys, beach towels and chairs, linens, toiletries. place was clean and just what we needed for our visit to St. John. We had a problem with the keypad lock a few days into the trip but David answered our phone call on the first ring and addressed the problem immediately. The only downfall to the house is the location on the top of an extremely steep hill. Finding the house was sort of difficult because I was not too familiar with the location other than its above gallows point. We spent about 30 minutes going up and down looking. We couldn't figure out how to get either tv to work but it was nice to be unplugged for the week with our teenagers so we didn't even ask the owner how to fix it!
Parking was a nightmare trying to park as you had to go to the bottom of the hill and turn around accelerating as you ascend the incline! (This was a local taxi drivers recommendation as the turn from the one road is almost like a 90 angle and elevated a ton so it would be impossible to make a left turn into the lot. It is in a good location in terms of distance (the police station is literally at the bottom of the hill) but both of the hills leading to town are extremely steep. I am in decent shape so If I was alone or with a significant other the walk would have been manageable but not with children or my 55 year old mother. We ended up driving to town for meals and shopping bc I didn't feel we would be able to make it back up the hills!
I also do not know if I would walk around this area at night alone being a single woman. I work in center city Philadelphia but still felt a little uneasy about the nighttime hours on St John. Before the hurricane it seemed different or maybe it was because this was the beginning of the off season, less tourists, darker without the bars on the beach in Cruz Bay. The locals told us it was fine up there at night but it is in an area of what appeared to be mostly residents and I just wouldn't feel comfortable walking at night. I feel I should be honest in my review about the location but it was literally the only thing we had to say negative about the stay, its not for the faint of hea

Beautiful, well-appointed condo in the heart of Cruz Bay, St. John
We visited St. John as a young couple, then as our family grew, and most recently, took our 4 teenage sons down there for an 8-day trip so they could experience this gem of an island. Suffice to say, our trip to St. John was spectacular. The condo is lovely and well-appointed, and David was super throughout the entire booking/visit. The kitchen has everything, the living area is beautiful, the bedrooms are large and comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern. There are two spacious patios that keep the mosquitoes out (this is huge) and overlook a bay where the car ferry comes in and out. We loved that the condo was a few minute walking distance to all the shops/restaurants (we're in shape so the slope wasn't a big deal), and we also liked the adventure of driving in/out of the driveway (a little scary on day 1, but we got used to it). The only thing I'd add is that we could have used a clothes washer/dryer once (maybe twice) during the trip, but heck, it was one less chore we had to contend with on "vacation." ;-) If you're going to the beaches, you're basically in swimwear all week. lol
We highly recommend this adorable place to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Cruz Bay and visit all the beautiful beaches of the island. Thank you for a spectacular vacation stay!!

Great place to stay in St. John USVI
There are lots of good things to say about this condo -- great location, great views, and furnished with everything you need (fully-equipped kitchen, beach chairs, beach towels, grill, pool, etc.) to have a relaxing vacation, but the owner's desire to accommodate travelers' individual needs makes this place worthy of 5 stars. David's flexibility in allowing us to shift our arrival and departure dates, after two of our flights to San Juan were cancelled, reduced our stress levels so that we could relax once we finally arrived.
