The one saving grace is that the staff were nice and polite. I thought that I may need a ride from the train station when I asked about taxi services the manager was nice to even offer to pick me up.
This accommodation was so unsuitable to the point that I'd rather lose money than stay there. The first thing to note is that it is a lockbox system, there is no reception area. You are first greeted by a long flight of stairs once you enter the building. As an international traveler this did not work for the prospect of lugging my heavy case up the stairs. My friend and I went up to the room to find as 2 females that the mirror in the bathroom was placed so high you could only see the tops of our heads. The shower had a hair in it, and although the room was relatively clean, it looks wore down and the bedding looked crumpled, and floor was uneven in places, board creaked. There was no net curtain and the view from the room was the back of high street stores, so not great. Some friendly stay cats was a highlight. Its next to a car wash place so there is parking for your car, but its also across the way from a pub and I just did not feel safe or at all that this was the right place for me. I think that this is very basic and more designed for transient workers who are basically paying for no frills and a bed. I didnt stay and lost my payment, the stairs alone would have been an A&E accident waiting to happen at my age, although the staff said they'd have come to help if I called - I think other travelers need to be aware. I am glad my friend stayed with me to help me find a more suitable chain hotel that was good value and a better fit.

Great location, lot of shops nearby and train station is 15 mins walking distance, basic break fast is available.
It would have been great, if washing machine is provided.

Breakfast good. Location excellent for our needs.

The lodge has 8 rooms above an industrial unit, with a kitchen unit in the middle. It is located behind shops, so low road noise. Close to Bishop Vesey Wetherspoons if you want a cooked breakfast, some cereals available in kitchen. Room was basic, clean and tidy.
Plug missing from sink.

The location of the Sutton Park Lodge was very good. The facility was both new and very clean. The smell of clean sheets and towels made us very pleasant. The owner of the Lodge helped with everything what we needed. Although the kitchen is a common area, it was always clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to stay here.
There is a microwave in the kitchen, but if you ask me it would be much better if there was a small oven or cooktop for cooking.

Facilities were excellent. Paul was a great host, very friendly and approachable. The place was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The stairs.

clean, comfortable, good kitchen, close to restaurants, pubs and shops
not the easiest to find - hidden behind a row of shops

The room was tidy and clean, the owner was very friendly and helpful, the price is great for what you get, we had everything we needed.
There was an issue with the light's motion sensor in the bathroom. It would turn off while we were in the bathroom and wouldn't turn back on no matter how much we waved at it. But when we came out of the bathroom and went back in it would turn back on again. Unfortunately this was something we couldn't do while showering or on the loo. The door on the bathroom was also not a real door, it worked as a paravane giving an illusion of privacy but not really separating from the bedroom.
The kitchen that was used by other people too was very dirty and neglected which happens when people don't care to keep the cleanliness.

Owner was very helpful and responded quickly to requests. Room was clean.
Parking was tricky, though manageable. We had a problem with sensor light in the bathroom turning off in the middle of showering, which was very disconcerting. Kitchen is adequate, though not a space you would want to sit and eat, so I would recommend having 2 chairs in the bedroom. Rooms are above the spa shop with a view of next door car wash.

Once you overcome the look of the property from the outside you realise that this is a real little hidden gem. It couldn't be in a better location for shops bars and restaurants. The room had everything you would need with great communal facilities. Cleanliness was an absolute 10 out of 10. Look forward to my return.
Maybe the appearance from the outside

Breakfast available to help yourself. Brilliant location for the wedding. Plenty of eating places. Extremely comfortable beds. Paul was super helpful when I requested 2 fans. Highly recommend. Excellent value for money.
A mirror slightly lower in the bathroom would have been helpful as I'm not very tall. Although not a huge problem as mirror in bedroom.

The property was clean and recently dec orated. The room was Spacious. Kitchen was well stocked for breakfast.
The Bathroom & Kitchen taps were leaking and flooded the bathroom floor. Bathroom door doesn't close fully. It would have been nice if another bedside table and a sofa type chair is provided.
