About this apartment rental
Aristocratic building located in the very heart of historical Seville:
Home at Homes offers you comfort, services and truly unconventional sensations. Our latest home will take you on a journey back to the period of greatest splendour of this city on the banks of the Guadalquivir River.
Located in the very heart of the city, just 5 minutes’ walk away from the Cathedral and the Giralda and next to the Madre de Dios convent, Casa Palacio San José is a stunning property over three floors, with over 1,000 square metres of space to enjoy. A stately home dating back to the 17th century, stunningly renovated by Rafael Manzano, one of the most influential classical architects of our time. Manzano has overseen, amongst other significant projects, the conservation and restoration of Seville’s Royal Palace complex (the Reales Alcázares) and the Alfonso XIII hotel, and here he has masterfully returned this palatial house to its original glory, whilst providing it with all the conveniences and safety measures required today.
With Home at Homes, guests can step in the shoes of the nobility of the period, experiencing the intimacy of this home in its singular surroundings, as if time had stood still.
The house welcomes visitors through the access door at calle San José 7, the heavy wooden doors and large wrought-iron gate an eloquent promise of what lies within.
Enthusiasts of both architecture and history will delight in the classical structural details, the large arcaded patio with Roman marble columns and fountains, generous terraces with exuberant greenery, and pergolas to keep the environment cool and sheltered. Inside, a veritable exhibition of craftsmanship, with classical decorative tiling, woodwork, coffered ceilings and elaborate plaster mouldings, together with a unique collection of furniture and antiques carefully selected by the owners.
The large iron gate leads to an open hallway which in turn leads to a first patio. And then on to a furnished, covered sitting area in which to relax and enjoy the main patio, before entering the house proper through a hallway giving access to the upper floors via a magnificent stairway and lift.
Casa Palacio San José I, also known as La Casa del Conde, spans the whole of the first floor of the building, 330m2 of space in what is the property’s most stately apartment. Now a sumptuous three-bedroom home, the Casa del Conde has kept its irregular shape and original distribution. It has a stunning living area which conserves all the Baroque elements of the property, and an impressive collection of art, furniture and beautiful crystal lamps.
The hallway leads to the first living room, equipped with a card table, a piano, a sitting area with TV and reading area. Next there is a magnificent dining room, with an elegant bohemian glass lamp and a large mahogany table for twelve, which can be extended to seat 22.
But undoubtedly the jewel of the property is the large hall-cum-library, a spacious area with three large balconies looking out onto the street. An area which is bathed in natural light and provides a unique and privileged vantage point from which to watch the Easter week processions. There is a work table and an impressive collection of books which will be difficult to resist. Several easy chairs, chairs and sofas will make you pick up one of the books and start reading...
The left wing of the apartment, also accessible through the service door, houses a large, fully-equipped kitchen and the sleeping area. The bedrooms are large and quiet, all with their own en-suite bathroom and bath, so privacy is guaranteed. Note the decorative details, the selection of furniture, the pretty traditional tiles in the bathrooms.
The first bedroom has two comfortable 90 x 200 cm beds. The second bedroom has a large 150 x 200 cm double bed and dressing room. The third bedroom is accessed from the dining room via a pretty gallery, or directly from the second bedroom, as the perfect solution when travelling with small children. It has two single beds of 90 x 200 cm, a dressing room and a large en-suite bathroom.
And to top the experience, the terraces of Casa Palacio San José, to be found on the third floor. An oasis of green in the middle of the city, ideal for a leisurely breakfast, a quiet evening al fresco with friends, or sunbathing in the solarium – complete with rainfall shower –, all the while taking in impressive views over the many terraces, dormers and bell gables of Seville’s Jewish district. The third floor also houses the shared laundry room, with washing machine and dryer. The apartments have hanging racks which are stored in the kitchens of each apartment.
Staying in Casa Palacio San José will enable you to enjoy all the charm of Seville’s historical and cultural heritage, as well as its shopping and leisure opportunities. The historical centre and the Cathedral, the Murillo Gardens, or the very heart of the Barrio de Santa Cruz are just a few minutes’ walk away, along a route filled with visual, culinary and cultural delights.
Casa Palacio San José houses five separate, independent apartments: San José I, San José II, San José III, San José IV, and San José V, together accommodating up to 22 guests in total comfort and over 500m2 of shared space. Why not book the whole building if travelling with a large group? Get in touch, and let us know what you need.

This magnificent home is over the top! Sooo comfortable and grand . We felt so special staying here. Everything advertised and more! We hated to leave and we'll be back with more family and friends. Don't miss a chance to stay here. Cheers from the USA!

A fabulous apartment and ideally located for all the best parts of Seville’s old town. Despite being so central, the apartment is super quiet, arranged around two internal courtyards. The rooftop terraces are lovely and give a wonderful view across the rooftops of Santa Cruz.

This looks like something out of a movie. But this place really looks just like the pictures. Its stunning really. Every detail is so thought out. 2 teens and 2 parents. Each kid had their own room and bathroom. The place was super clean. Location is amazing too, right in the heart of the santa cruz district with the narrow streets. Maybe a 10 minute walk to most things. We were met by the rental company upon arrival showing us everything we needed. I would not hesitate to stay here again in Seville. Seville was also the highlight of our trip after staying in Barcelona for 3 nights. That was amazing too but Seville is something special for sure.
