About this house rental
Enjoy the island lifestyle in this beautiful beach house that sits on the Pacific Ocean. Relax on the lanai and look out at the waves as the sea turtles pop their heads up for air. As you swing on the lanai with a cup of coffee, take a breath of the morning fresh air as the stunning views of sunrises, Waikiki and Diamond Head begin your days in paradise. Or enjoy the peacefulness of the beautiful tropical garden while you listen to the songs of the Hawaiian birds . The home is situated at the juncture where sand ends and shallow coral rock begins. This location provides and an excellent environment for a robust turtle population.
Towards the evening, hang out at Steiner's Sand Bar and experience a tropical paradise by the sea. Head towards the fire pit and enjoy an evening underneath the stars just feet from the sea.
This house provides an authentic Hawai’ian experience – with many native plants outside, and an open-ceiling. Sit at the water’s edge and watch the fish swim by and the crabs scurry along the sea wall. At night, enjoy the warm trade winds as you view the city lights of Honolulu.
The home was originally built in 1949 by a family of fisherman. The original home had a deck that reached from the home to the sea wall for drying nets. The home is constructed from reclaimed wood that was acquired from dismantling military barracks. The open ceiling shows the military blue paint that originally covered our soldiers barracks. The home was renovated in 1980 and raised with a concrete first floor to its current two story configuration.
You will relax in comfort with island-inspired furniture both indoors and out. There are several lounge chairs and umbrella tables outdoors and plush coaches and chairs inside. Additionally, the three bedrooms have large beds that will comfortably sleep up to 6 people. The main living space is on the second floor, which allows the sea breeze to keep the house cool and enjoyable throughout the day. The bedrooms and the first floor all have air conditioners. The kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove, coffee maker, and a large amount of counter space for cooking. The beach-front bar is covered and has a sink and all the stools you will need for a fun gathering with other guests.
The first floor has recently been opened into a spacious sitting area including desks for those who may need to stay connected. This area also includes two bedrooms with queen sized beds.
Ewa Beach is old Hawaii surrounded with new beautiful developments. However you will never hear road noise or have the night sky disturbed by road lights. The leeward coast occupies the sunniest part of Oahu that has been populated by Hawaiians since ancient times. The village of Ewa Beach continues to maintain the Hawaiian culture as the natives pass down their plantation type houses through generations. Ewa Beach is a great central location for experiencing all that Hawai’i has to offer. There are several shopping centers, grocery stores, and restaurants within a few minute’s drive. There are also fantastic golf courses and luxury hotels in the area as well. A bit further away, Honolulu provides all of the city amenities one could hope for (Waikiki beach, Diamond Head, Waikele Outlets, Aloha Stadium and Swap Meet, USS Arizona Memorial, etc.). And the North Shore, with all of its natural beauty and fantastic surf, is within a reasonable driving distance as well (Dole Plantation tour, Waimea Falls, Macadamia Nut Farm, Polynesian Cultural Center, big wave surf spots such as Waimea and the famous Bonzai Pipeline). There is one thing I want to make perfectly clear- this is a local community. They park their cars on their front lawns and some homes are not as neat as visitors would like. Don't expect the local people to be concerned about what you think is proper living. This is their home and they have lived in these homes for generations and so if you want manicured laws and people dressed up walking their poodles please do not rent this home. However if you want to get a feel for real Hawaii you can do it here and that is why we own this home.
Please note that my wife and I occasionally occupy a studio in the back of the property. We may or may not be present during your stay but if we are staying your privacy and use of the property is ensured.
Please contact us if you have any questions – we would love to hear from you!
Sorry, no pets or smoking inside the house or on the lanai.
Thank you for your interest.

VRBO moved us due to health and safety concerns. This property was misrepresented online. Unsafe to stay.

Property was in a good centrally located area with beautiful ocean access. The property had plenty of room for all 8 of us and the property owner was very responsive to any questions. Highly recommend this place for larger groups.

This comfortable, well stocked home worked perfectly for a 3-generation family vacation. not completely clear in the listing is that two bedrooms and one remote bathroom are included but on a separate floor with separate entry. This actually worked very well for us as daughter-in-law had to do a bit of work each day and having a separate living area allowed her to complete her work without disturbing the rest of the family. The views are tremendous, the property is quite private, and just far enough from the hub-up of Honolulu to be peaceful but still within a short hop to everything you would want to experience on a vacation. The hosts were extremely courteous and went out of their way to make sure our family vacation was "epic" to quote my 9 YO granddaughter. Would absolutely recommend the property and would prefer to stay here again next time we are in the area.

The communication with the property owners was great during our stay. They were responsive and accommodating. There was plenty of room for 4 people. It is nice to stay in a house away from the crowded Wakiki and still have the comforts of home. The house was stocked with what we needed for our stay. The neighboring homes are indicative of true Hawaiian living.

If you are looking for a beach place, this is not for you. But if you want a quiet place with wonderful views and many great outdoor spaces this is for you. This is in a residential neighborhood and you will see no other tourists. Lots of space for families. We will be back.

We stayed on Oahu a week and used this home as a hub for our adventures. Getting anywhere took an hour but that 's due to the traffic on the island. The home has a ton of amenities and we really enjoyed starting and ending our days on the deck watching the ocean, the city lights, and the airplanes come in and out. The main living area is spacious and well appointed. The outside has quite a few features and spaces to enjoy both tropic gardens and the beach. I'd happily stay here again. The house offered us everything we were looking for and so much more.

The property as described by the host was very accurate. If you are looking for a prstine beachfront property, this is not for you. Our family of 6 (4 grown children) had a wonderful experience waking up to the beautiful sunrose and sea turtles popping their heads above water every morning. the waves crash against the seawall and plenty of privacy in the numeroua seating areas outside. You are amongst locals... we enjoyed that. Give Aloha, receive Aloha. It was a bit far from Honolulu (40 min) but we ventured to other areas on the island and this location worked out well for that. Great oceanfront home with plenty of space. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful as we arrived a day late due to flights. Communication was excellent! Thank you Greg and Roslynn!

First time renting for Family Getaway very impressed with the whole process. Great communication from Railey staff. Very interested in booking for next year in same area for at least 12 occupants & same price range

The house is situated right on the water with a seawall right in the back yard. The sunrises over Diamond Head's silhouette each morning were spectacular and best enjoyed with breakfast either on the spacious balcony or in the dining room next to the large windows. The beautiful grounds surrounding the home are well groomed with lovely palm, guava, and papaya trees.
The 5 bedrooms and large living spaces allowed our party of 7 to stretch out and have privacy when needed. And the kitchen was well equipped to prepare all of our meals.
There are three bed rooms on the upper level, and two on the lower level. The upper level is accessed via an exterior staircase. The rooms are airconditioned, and the living areas have ceiling fans that keep the afternoons comfortable.
Our stay was during the Christmas weekend, so fireworks were in full force around the neighborhood that went well into the night. But a set of earplugs allowed for restful sleep on the comfortable mattresses.
Access to the home is via a long driveway that passes several friendly neighbor's homes. Parking was ample for our 2 cars and was behind two gates that provided good privacy.
There are many restaurants and grocery stores and shops nearby and downtown Honolulu was only a 30-35minute drive away.
Our vacation was so much fun and this was in large part to this lovely home right on the water. The views couldn't be beat, and the home offered a comforting and beautiful place to relax and decompress.

The view of the ocean was wonderful. The property was comfortable. The owners were on property and they were very helpful and nice. One drawback was they had a person come in to check for termites while we were staying there which we weren't too thrilled with but the owner was with the person at all times. We would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at the property. We did have an issue but the owners were very reasonable in sorting that with us. I would recommend this rental option

This home had everything we needed including many versatile spaces for large groups. Plenty of sitting areas inside and out. Teens enjoyed snorkeling righ in front of the house. No ac in main living area upstairs but ocean breezes helped and all bedrooms stayed nice and cool with window units. Kitchen had ample cookware etc. Overall very comfortable nine days at this location. Would definitely stay here again.

I would love to thank them for the opportunity to stay here at their home. They work very hard to make you feel like you are home and help with what ever you may need. The stores and shopping is only a short drive away. And while at the house you can’t miss these beautiful view’s with opportunities to great some great pictures for our memories. This is my family’s 2nd time staying here and this time was just a great as the first. We brought our whole family so laundry facilities on site was a great addition to the house. Plenty of rooms to accommodate our whole family. We would definitely stay here again.

Can't beat the view. Almost every morning we were up watching the Sun Rise, Waves Crashing and Turtles Feeding from the 2nd Floor Balcony. My Family took tons of pictures from our balcony or our backyard next to the ocean. House had everything we needed for our stay, plenty of towels, pots/pans, rice cooker, coffee pot, dishes, utensils, knives, bedding, etc. House was also very clean. We were very comfortable during our stay. Two of the Five bedrooms is on the First Floor. You have to go outside and up the stairs to access the main living area on the 2nd floor. Also ff you are staying on the bottom floor you have to go outside to use the bathrooms either on the 2nd floor or the one in the laundry room. But you do get a nice walk outside to listen to the waves crashing. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We were far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki put close enough to plenty of stores and good places to eat.
Our only compliant was the stove, I like to cook for my family in the morning and was only able to get 3 of the 5 burners working and 2 of the knobs were broken off.
Thank You to our host for allowing us to stay at their place.

We had a fantastic time here. The charm of the house and the ocean waves lapping on the shore create the ideal place to rest and enjoy. We spent a lot of enjoying the porch and listening to the waves. Inside the decor was just right-- professional but not showy. Everything was comfortable. Our 4 yr old loved building and playing in the sand yard. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out too. With two teenagers and a pre-schooler space is a gift. Everyone had room to spread out. I would certainly book here again. Our stay was delightful.

O!cean views from every window
We spent hours sitting on the porch swing enjoying the ocean and the house has the perfect layout for people to gather in different spots in the great big family/dining/kitchen area. Everything we needed was right there!

Incredible Home with breathtaking Views , makes you feel deeply rooted in the Hawaiian way of life!
No words can describe how amazing and unforgettable this home made our family feel!! There was a total of 11 of us which consisted of 7 Adults, 3 Kids and 1 Infant. Home had more than enough space to fit us comfortably and then some. Came with blow up mattresses if we needed them but we didn’t because there was enough beds to fit all 11 of us and also provided us with a playpen for our baby. Anything that we needed the home had. We had no complaints or problems with the house and the owners responded quickly and where very helpful if we did have questions. This house has everything you need to take in the Hawaiian Culture and just wake up to a breathtaking Sunrise and Sunset. We absolutely would refer all our family and friends to this home because it really was that amazing. The locals show the Aloha spirt and we even able to get to know a few of the locals and they helped give us advice and helped us fish and also taught us about the area that all the locals care so much about. The hospitality that was shown to our whole family from the locals and owners made us feel amazing and excited to plan the next trip because we now can say we know what home will be staying in every time our family Visits Oahu. Mahalo for a Epic Experience we will all Remember and Cherish forever!!!!

Fun Vacation Home
This was a perfect sized vacation home for our group of 9. The location was easy to find with the provided check-in instructions. When we arrived the host gave a quick tour around the property and informed us to contact him and his wife for anything - which we did, and they were very prompt with their responses.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs, all with their own A/C units. The living rooms were spacious and had enough seating to fit everyone comfortably. The upstairs one does get warm during the afternoon, but it wasn’t a huge issue for us since we went out during that time of day anyways. We also kept the windows open to keep the air flowing, and turned on the fans when needed.
The view of Diamond Head/Waikiki during sunrise was enough to make us all morning people. Coming from the mainland, that view plus the the sound of the ocean waves was my favorite part of this rental.
I recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay, you book this Vrbo!

Oceanfront hidden gem
Our 15 night stay was serene, mesmerizing, calm, and peaceful. It was because of our stay at this house that my parents truly saw the beauty and culture of the islands. We lived among the locals, talked to the fisherman and neighbors, and enjoyed the Aloha. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 kids (ages 5 -14), 3 older adults, and 2 parents to enjoy the waves, workout, run around, or hide. Sooooo many wonderful places to enjoy the scenery, from from the sprawling front lanai, the master suite lanai, the bonfire area on the sand, the bar facing the ocean wall, and the outside living room area in the backyard. Windows galore to take the ocean all in as you wake up and the ocean wind feels so good to sleep to. This is a definite come back for us.

Best possible place
We had a whole family vacation, 8 of us and an absolutely wonderful time. The property is very unpretentious so it makes the stay very comfortable. Woke up every morning had coffee on the lanai watch for turtles and just relaxed. We will most definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay in this friendly neighborhood
This was off the beaten path which is exactly what we were looking for. This house is tucked into a neighborhood with a bunch of native Hawaiians, all of whom were very friendly and helpful. Every morning we would pick up some of the mangos that fell off the tree at the corner of the drive way. Eventually one of the neighbors went out of their way to pick some real nice ones and then they would leave them on the patio table in the back yard. In the mornings I would talk to the guys fishing on the sea wall (In Hawaii no one owns the coast so it’s common for people to walk along the sea wall) and they even offered me some of their catch. We actually grilled out with a few of the neighbors as well. I enjoyed waking up every morning and sitting on the sea wall and drinking coffee with my wife. My kids would walk down the sea wall to the beach and do some snorkeling. And even though I was working this was one of the most relaxing and friendly places I’ve been outside of Thailand. Some of the neighbor houses look run down but it honestly didn’t bother me or my family. The highway is about 15 minutes away in heavy traffic and after that there’s not many places that takes more than 30 minutes away.

Winter break
This ocean front property is awesome! My family had lots of fun and good memories at this house. My kids went fishing just a few steps from the backyard while I barbecued on the side patio. This house have everything you need for a comfortable vacation stay. Our girls and their 4 friends stayed on the First Floor which has a huge room that can easily accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. Second floor has a huge living room and 3 bedrooms that have comfortable beds and air conditioning. The location of this property was also very convenient for us as we have lots of relatives that lives around the area. Restaurants and grocery stores are literally minutes away. The property owners Rosalynn & Greg and the caretaker Elena are very friendly and helpful with any questions or concerns I had with the house. Overall, it exceeded our expectations for this house and definitely would love to stay here again next time.

Amazing Ocean View
Great experience, great home. AC in one bedroom was not working and AC downstairs was not cooling the big room but we didn’t address it to the owners therefore we can’t hold it against them but that’s just something they have to take care off. Other than that we would rent it again with no hesitation.

House was good size for our 9 members family. Love that it was so far from the maddening group. We were able to come back every day
and relax and enjoy the ocean waves. Quiet neighborhood. Good house for a family vacation.

Beautiful and Peaceful vacation Home!
Not only was this a much needed vacation for me and my nine other friends, it was a perfect and beautiful setting. The pictures of the home were accurate and did not do it justice. The proximity to the ocean was as relaxing in the morning, throughout the day and evening as you can imagine. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for the experience!

Beautiful ocean front home
Enjoyed sitting back in the breeze looking over the water watching turtles surface

Disappointing
This property was not really as described. It was posted as a beachfront property but there was no beach that was accessible. Also, the main bedroom bath was in disrepair. It looked as though it was in the midst of being remodeled and this was not disclosed to us. The balcony was nice and did have a lovely swing on it which allowed for wonderful mornings watching the waves and seeing turtles out in the water. Overall, I felt this property was overpriced and I would not stay here again.

Lovely home, lovely setting!
We loved our stay! We loved waking up to the sounds of the ocean every morning. We ate breakfast on the patio as we happily watched for sea life (lots of turtles, two seals and an amazing array of crabs). The beds were all very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we loved the common area layout. We enjoyed being in a genuine neighborhood (instead of a hectic tourist trap). Really, the home couldn’t have been better for us!

Perfect water front!!!
The location was a bit tricky to find, but once here....WOW! Can’t get much closer to the water! House is nice with lots of room. We were a group of 7 and we did not feel cramped at all! Watched whales and turtles off the lanai, I would recommend this place!
3.0 / 5.0
Very dense neighborhood with plenty of noisy distractions, but great on the ocean views..
Primary living area on second floor afforded great views of Diamond Head Honolulu/Waikiki skyline from kitchen/living room and full length porch.
,
On the other hand dense neighborhood produced chronic nightly noise related sleep interruptions. Dog from the adjoining property barked incessantly every night. The outdated horizontal louvered glass bedroom windows did little to block this and other noise. The nightly widespread residential fireworks show sounded like an artillery barrage. Finally, upon arrival we discovered fifteen steps from the driveway to the second floor. A major challenge for the WW II Vet who used a walker.

Beautiful ocean view but in a scary area!
The people we dealt with were great but the thing that nobody is telling you is that you have to drive thru a very slummy area to get to the house. It shares a driveway with homes that look like dumping grounds for anything & everything. The driveway in has huge holes and you feel like you are practically driving in to the living rooms of the properties there. Once you get to the house, the view is to die for and we spent many evenings on the porch just watching the waves and the sea turtles pop their heads up. The outdoor space is a little inconvenient to get to from the main living area upstairs because the stairs down from the porch are on the opposite side of the house from where the bbq area is. Also, be sure that you don't mind the fact that there is no air conditioning except for in the bedrooms and there is no insulation in the house so it gets really warm during the day.. We didn't sit at the bar that is pictured here even once because of its location and the inconvenience of hauling everything down from the upstairs. We didn't use the downstairs part of the house at all, but it was pretty stinky down there and very very hot. There is not a beach there at all.....the ocean comes right up to the seawall at all times. All in all I would rate it about 5 out of 10 I guess.

Hawaiian Vacation
With friends and relatives staying at the rental property was fun and exciting. We had a nice time and enjoyed the company of friends and relatives. The house was spacious and homey with the beautiful view and the sound of the ocean waves. It was accommodating and has all the amenities we needed during our stay. It was quite and feel at home feeling and clean, except for some spots (possibly due to high humidity). We would recommend this house to future occupants and we would love to come back and stay again. Another thing, it was close to grocery, airport, and shopping centers.
