Two bedroom, cozy and comfortable, carriage house flat, totally independent with own deck and patio, complete with barbecue. Rented by retired couple who respect renters privacy and are close by to help if problems should arise.
Conveniently located within walking distance, approximately 5 - 10 minutes, to beautiful, North Shore beach (Ross Lane) with lifeguards. Close to many beautiful golf courses, nice restaurants, summer theatre, deep sea fishing, lobster pound, fishing wharf and entertainment. Very secluded and private, charming. Great spot for a couple. Sleeps 2 very comfortably.
New construction - two bedrooms, one bathroom (shower only), kitchen equipped with dishwasher, microwave, toaster/ convection oven and amenities. Private deck, ground level patio with barbecue, table & chairs, and Muskoka chairs. Parking available close to cottage.

My husband and I hadn’t been to PEI in many years and we just loved our stay. From the location, in short walking distance to the beach, to the lovely amenities and peaceful setting and great hosts, we just could not have asked for more! Thank you!!

Nice cottage in a great location. Perfect for those who want to explore the beaches of The Park and the Island. Our hosts were very friendly and quick to respond to questions. They had several great suggestions for local restaurants and entertainment as well.

The property was just as described. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. Everything was there for us. Beach a short walk away. Quiet and relaxing time was had. Hosts were exceptional and very accomodating. Would definitely stay there again.

The cottage is really nice and located in a quiet place. We appreciated having 2 bedrooms, instead of the more common pullout solution. Also a small refrigerator/freezer instead of the typical mini fridge/freezer. One thing that maybe not be clear from the description is that the apartment is on the second floor of the property (above the garage), so you do have to climb, on the flip side the view is nice, the deck is high, and nothing is going to come up and bother you (except mosquitoes maybe).
The Stanhope area is quiet, but very well located on the island. The beach is nearby, and you can either drive (pay for daily pass to access this Park Canada area), or an easy 10 minutes hike through a small path. Whether you chose to pay or walk, it's totally worth it.
The stars of this place are Ellen and Rob. They are really helpful, gave plenty of recommendations, even in real-time when we texted to say we were going to be behind schedule coming in and that we were looking for a place to eat in Charlottetown... We were not disappointed.
Both the cottage in our hosts made for a very pleasant stay in PEI.

The cottage itself was SPOTLESS! It’s a very nice, secluded area. Definitely buggy at night, but the whole island seems to be.
Cottage location was perfect for our exploring. Short drive to Charlottetown, close to amenities and lots of towns to visit between 20min and 1 hour drive. It was a great central point for seeing new parts of PEI (for us).
We were also travelling with our toddler. The area is silent at night and she slept like a dream. Bonus!

High Above The Trees
We went to PEI for a memorial service of a dear friend ,however, our stay our stay at Ellen’s Cottage was more than we expected. She was most cooperative when we couldn’t get wifi to operate and Rob ,her husband, even provided “rabbit ears” to enable my husband to watch the Stanley Cup!
Then they invited us to their place ( choose the night) for appetizers and drinks -way beyond what is expected- my only wish that evening was that I knew more about cars because her husband is!
The only drawback to Ellen’s place was that you had to be able to do stairs( with groceries) so it’s only a spot for those who are not physically challenged! Luckily, we are not.
If you like golf, fine eating and the beaches, this is the place for you.

PEI Visit
We stayed at the property for 5 days in late August and loved the unit. It was convenient to the beach and golf and Ellen was very helpful when we needed anything. We highly recommend this cottage.

As advertised
The carriage house was a clean and comfortable home away from home. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Ellen and Rob were great hosts. The location was perfect for biking and beaching. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were ultra fluffy! We hope to be back!

I was somewhat put off at being constantly reminded of the checkout time FOUR times in text AND email on our last day with a blatant reminder there were new guests arriving.
It was also mentioned several times that we needed to sort out all the garbage and recycling so as not to lose the damage deposit.
I was even shown the vacuum cleaner for use during our stay.
(I have never felt I needed to vacuum my hotel room, nor would I while on vacation)
The insistent reminders made it feel as though we were being asked to get out, as opposed to being thanked for our business.
Although the physical property was a good one, it felt uncomfortable.

This was the first time we rented a cottage. It was a great spot. Perfect for the 2 of us. Walking distance to the beach which was important to us. Ellen and Rob were great. We would recommend this place to friends.

Love this place in Stanhope
Stanhope is the best area on the island and this place gives you great access to all the nearby beaches and amenities. The property is beautiful and very clean. Ellen was an awesome host! We'll definitely go back.

Excellent place, everything we needed!
3 of us stayed here (2 adults, 1 teenager). The property was exactly as described and was very clean and well equipped. Ellen was a great host (provided drinks for us on arrival!) and gave us exactly the right amount of attention (not too much, not too little!). We loved the quiet location and the easy access to everything we wanted to visit on PEI and the thoughtful provision of a good supply of local guides and maps was nice.
We would definitely come back here, and would recommend it to others.

Cozy cottage for 2-3 near the beech and convenient to much of the island.
Enjoyed a four day stay chasing Anne of Green Gables and touring the PEI countryside. The cottage is in a secluded are of the island, but convenient to the beautiful red sand beaches of the Stanhope area.
Ellen was an excellent host and meticulous housekeeper. She was very reponsive to any inquiries and proactive in offering suggestions for our stay.
It is a heavily wooded area with some mosquitos, so you may want to bring some repellent.
Also, as Ellen pointed out to us, it is about 20 minutes to the nearest shop, so bring everything you need when you are done for the night.

Tasteful quiet retreat
We made a quick decision to visit PEI once again after a four year absence, and were delighted with our pick for this stay. This Carriage House Cottage is new construction in a quiet, back-in-the-woods location, but in walking distance to the shore. We were warmly greeted by Rob, the owner, upon our arrival, and were quickly made to feel welcomed and cared for. We thoroughly enjoyed this home as our base to go explore all over the island. The kitchen has no stove, but it was not missed at all with the convenience of a microwave, toaster oven and two hot plates. The bed was really comfortable, and while the duvet was very elegant, it was also a bit too warm for the August evenings. A light weight blanket would have been great for the cool early morning hours. This is a great quiet home for a couple to retreat to after a busy day at the shore or touring around. We highly recommend it and would be happy to return.

This second floor, fully furnished, and brand new looking "cottage/apartment" was fantastic as were the owners and the central location on Prince Edward Island...would go back to the same spot on all counts in a heartbeat!

Quiet, clean and great owners
We had an opportunity to stay at this cottage in PEI and it was very well maintained (new), dacor was great, easy to communicate with the owners and most of all, yes we will go back.

Quiet place, close to the beach with high expectation of the renters
Close to the beach (walking 15 min), flat was kind of clean. Unfortunately I just understood after I booked that one has to leave a midrange -three-figure deposit. (I never have experienced that in a holiday flat - one should read the fine print!) We were told at the start that the garbage had to be totally clean and perfectly sorted otherwise part of the deposit would be kept. We were clearly told how we had to behave. Luckily we got the deposit back as I kept everything clean. On one side the renter complained very much about the behaviour of former tourists. On the other side it wasn't everything perfect either in the flat.
I guess the flat is targeted towards couples without kids ("well behaved kids are welcome"...) who enjoy a quiet brise close to the beach.

Great place to discover PEI!
We loved our sunny home away from home. Everything about the appartment was in best order,
tastefully furnished and brand new (we were the first guests). Our hosts thought of eveything from fresh flowers on the dinner table, to beach towels and even ice cubes in the freezer. The quiet evenings were great for us, as we live in a loud and busy city. The invitation to meet our hosts was much appreciated and it was a pleasure to get to know them over a drink or two...
Stanhope is a perfect starting point to discover the island and enjoy the many amazing beaches. Delicious seafood can be bought to enjoy at home or eaten on site at Covehead Harbour. We would certainly recommend this cottage.
