We couldn’t ask for better accommodations for my family. The home is conveniently located close to all shops and restaurants and came with a beach parking pass to boot. Thank you!

This well-appointed house is conveniently located just steps away from shops, restaurants and activities. We return every year to greet old friends, make new friends and enjoy the area. The hosts were exceptional at making our stay comfortable, and we are planning on returning next year.

It’s our 5th stay here. Perfection! Our home away from home. The minute you walk in the door you feel like you are home. The house is in the perfect location. Walk out the front door to the port. 5 minutes to beach. The owners and management are the best to deal with. Super nice people.

We had a weeklong experience that we will be talking about for many years to come. This home has so much history, and it’s steps away from all the shops and restaurants you’ll want to visit. Park your car in the driveway and enjoy the convenience of the location.

We’ve stayed here before and we returned for a reason: Pete and Carolyn’s home is beautifully maintained and ideally located. The house dates back to the late 1700s but is fully modernized and completely comfortable. Rent this home with the confidence that you’ll enjoy your time in Maine.

We felt right at home in this comfortable historic home and enjoyed its convenience to the shops and restaurants of Kennebunkport. We cooked in the modern kitchen and used the gas grill for a couple of at home dinners. Absolutely loved sitting in the pretty backyard on a nice day. The owners and managers are excellent communicators. Looking forward to future visits.

This home exudes character around every corner. The space has been well thought out, with comfy furniture and extra touches. You’ll have everything you need in this
VRBO rental. The kitchen is well stocked, the bed linens and towels are soft and cozy, and if the weather cooperates, beach chairs await your use! The extra touches, such as the books, games, and Bluetooth speaker, really added to our experience. We will reach out again if our travels brings us to Kennebunkport.

This is a lovely historical house right in the heart of Kennebunkport. We loved the uneven floors and charm. The house is completely set up to cook at home and has a good kitchen, has a nice back yard, a parking space, and garage. Restaurants and shops in walking distance. We would highly recommend this home.

I am originally from Maine but I have been transplanted to Utah. My husband and I try to make a yearly trip to Maine. Usually we come in August to attend the Blueberry Festival in Wilton because I grew up in Wilton. This year some friends joined us for a vacation in May. Each year we take a day trip to Kennebunkport and have walked past this beautiful house many times. I couldn't believe my eyes when I found that it was available through Verbo. We were so delighted to see that the house lived up to the pictures on Verbo. It is a gorgeous home with every amenity that any traveler could want. You thought of every detail that we could need. We are big ice cream eaters and when we saw that there was not an ice cream, we found one at Hanniford's and left it for the next guest to enjoy. Having a washer and dryer was such a treat. No lugging home dirty clothes. We found the 2 staircases very handy to make 2 separate sleeping spaces for 2 couples. Once we were upstairs, we never saw the other couple. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful house with us. We loved every minute of it.

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. The location is right in the Port and walkable to all of the shops and restaurants. The property owners and managers are always so responsive and a pleasure to speak with. The house is well appointed and is a great place to stay in beautiful Kennebunkport.

We've done many rentals through VRBO; this home was among the best. Dealing with the owners was always smooth and easy. They communicate clearly and accurately, and responded quickly when messaged.
The house itself is beautiful. It's old (dates to the 1790's) and well cared for in every way. It's also very comfortable. Beds, linens, towels and furniture are all first-class.
The house is just a block off Dock Square; many shops and restaurants are easily walkable. It's a busy area, especially in summer, but we enjoyed a Christmastime stay that offered a more relaxed Kennebunkport visit.
Though the house is truly a stand-out, it's the owners, Pete and Carolyn, that made a lasting impression. We were renting when the big pre-Christmas storm of 2022 shut-down half the country. They got right in touch to make sure we were OK. It became very clear that they not only care about their house, they also care about their VRBO visitors.

We recently visited Kennebunkport and chose this house based on the location to accommodate my mother's bad knee, and having dedicated parking when in Kennebunkport was wonderful.
As for the property, it is a wonderful, historic home. The updates are well thought out. We were all very comfortable. And while this is a property used by the owners, it is in a good way - i.e. the kitchen is more well-equipped than a corporate rental, but there isn't such an abundance of personal items that the space is uncomfortable to guests (hello, NYC rentals!).
Pete and Carolyn were gracious hosts who decorated the home for the season, and their responses to our inquiries were timely. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, if in the area.

We had a wonderful time at this charming home located within walking distance from the center of town. Super clean throughout with a well equipped kitchen. Nicely remodeled while keeping its historical character. We are hoping to be back next year.

We loved staying at this wonderful property. We ranged from 12-82 years old. Great for several generations. Stairs can be difficult for older generations, but the house was worth it. We loved the history. My teenagers who do not think anything is cool, thought this house was cool. They loved the attic space, and asked when we would come back. We had never been to Maine, and this house and Kennebunkport was a great way to experience Maine. It was great that so much was walkable. All the history in the house was fascinating and we enjoyed reading all the information. People like to take pictures of the house as they walked by, so we had some fun and ominously stared out windows and freaked people out/made them laugh. The kitchen was great, and we were able to cook several meals. We added UNO and Connect Four to the game collection in the attic, hope others enjoy!

My family and I loved our week at this historic well maintained house! Pete and Carolyn have maintained the house's charm while having updated a lot of the rooms such as kitchen and bathrooms to make our stay very comfortable. The house is in a perfect location to easily walk to any of the stores and restaurants. We made daily trips across the street for smoothies in the morning and ice cream at night! It is a quick drive/bike ride to the local beaches as well! We had the best week and look forward to returning!

Historic, wonderful property a few steps from the center of town. The owner was easily available by cell. Several window AC units made it very comfortable. There is enough room for a family.

Returning Family
My family enjoyed another great week at the home. We have become one of many annual return visitors to this Spring St. home. We love the in-town location and quick ride to beach utilizing the annual parking pass provided. Hi-speed internet always appreciated for last minute work emergencies.

Perfect location and gracious hosts
The location was amazing as it’s truly in the middle of Kennebunkport. We could walk to almost anything. Walk across the street for a delicious cup of coffee in the morning and if you feel like shopping or grabbing a meal or cocktail, it’s all just past your front door. The hosts and property managers were great and the house is well appointed.

Christmas & New Years Getaway
Outstanding property with fantastic location, especially for off season rental during the winter. We walked into the Port for coffee in the morning and dinner in the evening, enjoying the holiday lights and snow without the crowds of Prelude. The house is a beautiful historic home, but updated baths and kitchen make it very livable and comfortable.

Our girls trip to Maine was fabulous staying at this beautiful home. It had all the amenities we needed. An Enchanting Home Away from Home
This is a lovely and well appointed property. Everything that a host could provide for a comfortable stay is available and well thought out. My family and I so enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again. I was especially pleased that my guests found this home as charming as I did. This is a well loved home with gracious owners and an equally caring property manager.

Fascinating house
Wonderfully restored historic house. Great location, right at edge of main shopping area and harbor. Fascinating notebook on history of house. Nice little booklet of walking tours of the surrounding areas pointing out various historic houses and architectural features. Nice wide plank floors. Modern kitchen. A great house to explore with a cute garret room up a hidden stairs. Master bed seemed a little soft for my bad back at first but i slept soundly with no problems. Pete responded to my emails quickly. Keep in mind the age of this historic house, as stairs are steep, narrow, and can be slightly uneven; if you have trouble with stairs, be extra careful.. we had a great time here in the fall. Someone did a great job updating and restoring this house and we enjoyed it thoroughly

The house was wonderful! It has so much character and a neat history. It was clean and included amenities that made it feel like home. Kennebunkport is a special little place, and this house is in the heart of it all. So close to everything. My husband had a work conference to do via zoom and the wifi and setup worked out so well for that. It was also easy for me and my toddler to explore town, the beaches, playgrounds, etc. He also loved the house and the "secret stairs." Communication with the owner was great prior to our visit. Highly recommend everything- we didn't want to leave!

Week in Kennebunkport
We are in the middle of our week here and I cannot rave enough about Kennebunkport and our home away from home. The Aaron Hovey House is without a doubt one of the most wonderful houses we have stayed. Pete, Carolyn, and housekeeper Karen have been most gracious. The house is immaculate, with every amenity you need and then some. We literally live in the kitchen/dining area and the backyard. Bedrooms and baths terrific. Aaron Hovey's history is a delight to learn about while we explore the town and areas nearby. Thank you for your hospitality. We hope to return next year.
